So... Whispers in the Dark is FINALLY up! Well, the first chapter, anyway... Please check it out and critique/review. I'd like to know what you think of it so far!

From Vanilla (Guest): "I was wondering if you could do one that assumes Dipper and Pacifica developed feelings for one another (Maybe keeping them secret, maybe not. It's really up to you, if you decide to go with this), and it takes place as Dipper and Mabel are heading home? Or, perhaps one set after they've already gone home and Pacifica ran away to escape her parents and tracked Dipper and Mabel down (ALLLL the way from Oregon to California.) because she figured they'd be her best bet for finding out what she should do?"

Okay, I can roll with this. How about one set at the end of summer?

In His Eyes

She wasn't upset. She certainly wasn't. She just had something in her eye.

Pacifica stood at the bus station, ignoring the way her chauffeur in the limo was giving her a weird look every few minutes. She had already paid him not to tell her parents where she was going, but it didn't stop the way her heart seemed to plummet at the image of her father's anger written clearly in her mind.

No, they couldn't know she was here. They wouldn't understand.

The car drove up, red with some noticeable dents in the side, and her heart sped up. Stan, Mabel, and Dipper Pines got out and the girl raced over to hug her.

She wasn't upset. She wasn't shaking.

Dipper was a bit red-faced and hesitant but he hugged her as well once his twin let go. The bus would be arriving in a minute but neither let go.

Stan looked nervous and glum. Pacifica registered that this was the first time she had ever seen him like this. Normally the older man was laughing or saying something sarcastic to her. They had taken a while to warm up to each other, but with Mabel's - and surprisingly, Dipper's too - encouragement they weren't so rude to each other anymore. Not that they would ever admit it.

She wasn't gripping the back of his vest hard as they hugged. She wasn't shaking as they pulled away.

The bus was coming and the twins were looking at the two residents of this town with sad looks. Mabel could no longer hold back tears as she embraced her great-uncle for the last time. Dipper was still not giving in, but he did hug Stan too.

Mabel promised to call and write, to both of them surprisingly. Dipper gave his relative a watery smile, and the old man looked away because "there's dust in my eyes".

Nobody dared correct him.

She wasn't breathing heavily, trying not to cry.

Mabel hugged her again, wishing the best of luck with school (and her parents, but that was whispered into her ear softly). Pacifica wished her well too, wondering how she could have hated this girl not too long ago.

Dipper awkwardly walked over, rubbing the back of his neck. He didn't seem to know what to say and his face was pink. It was rather cute. Not that she'd ever tell anyone that.

He mumbled a goodbye and she nodded, unsure what to say in return. It felt like her chest was tightening and it became difficult to ignore her blurring vision.

Before she could stop herself, Pacifica grabbed his arm and stopped him from turning away. His eyes widened as she kissed his cheek, murmuring the goodbye again. She didn't dare look back as she turned away, ignoring his twin sister's squeals and Stan's cough of surprise.

She didn't look back still as the bus rolled away, when the red car drove off slower than usual. She didn't look the chauffeur in the eye as she told him to drive her home.

She definitely wasn't upset about her friends going back to California.

And she definitely wasn't upset that she'd realized her feelings too late. No, she... she wasn't.

Okay, it's cheesy. I got carried away. Sorry.
