So I have to write a poem for a thing, and I decided I wanted to make it Merlin related. So this happened. It's intentionally vague, since the majority of those who read it won't be familiar with the show, and I wanted to make it readable to everyone. Anyway, part of the reason I'm posting this is to see if I can get any feedback before I turn it in, so please review! Anyway, enjoy!
Edit: I realized I never put a disclaimer in here, so just to be clear, I don't own Merlin.
A king and his protector.
The first, a noble, just man
Wise and honorable.
The second has a secret
A hidden power, unknown by all save one
And it has saved the king, and the kingdom, far more times than he can count
But no one knows.
He is a servant, a shadow, by choice
To protect the king.
Some call it love
What the two share,
But it isn't.
It is a friendship, a brotherhood
The tight bond of destiny.
Tying the two together for all of time
They are two sides of the same coin.
And now, that tie, that bond
Is all the protector has left.
The king is gone
But still, the protector waits
Forever more.
Until the king, his friend and brother, returns
For only then will all be right
And he can take his place as an equal by the king's side.
