Wow, I'm on a roll today! A new story posted and about six or so one-shots done... Life is good. Now if only Gravity Falls would return before summer...
From Aqua Girl 007: "As for another idea, one idea I have is Dipper's thoughts when he was in the warehouse in the Hand That Rocks the Mabel. While I know you did a version with Mabel, I am curious to see his thoughts earlier from when he walked into the warehouse and was being attacked by him, maybe what happened afterwards. You don't have to do this if you don't want too."
Ooh, I like this idea! I'd be more than happy to write it for you!
Curiosity Killed the Cat
Okay, maybe his curiosity had gotten the better of his common sense. However he had been a little distracted by the promise of somebody other than his sister or Soos believing him about this town's supernatural oddities to realize something was wrong until he walked into the empty warehouse.
That was the first clue something was off. Toby had told him to meet him here, but there was nobody in sight. He started to leave but the door shut loudly, near darkness washing over him.
A panic filled Dipper as he banged on the door, millions of different ideas about who was behind this running through his head. Ghosts? Some sort of demon? Were the gnomes coming back for revenge? Or - ?
And then the lights turned on and the chair swiveled at the back of the building, revealing Lil' Gideon with a doll of himself in his lap.
All of the fear left the boy in an instant. Seriously? The kid thought he could scare Dipper or something? He should have known the kid still liked his twin and wouldn't give her up so easily.
He wasn't truly frightened of Gideon until he jumped off the chair, placed a hand on his necktie, and began approaching. It reminded him eerily of a bull ready to charge.
Of course Gideon wasn't a fraud. Of course he had a magical amulet that allowed him to have telekinesis.
Of course he wanted to kill Dipper for trying to help his sister out too.
Dipper just couldn't catch a break in this town.
Thankfully, he had a good amount of practice running from monsters so he wasn't out of breath immediately when the little psycho began hurling merchandise at him. He vowed that if he got out of this, he'd definitely never help his sister break up with some creepy kid ever again. Not if it entailed this.
For once Grunkle Stan's exaggerations had come true. This guy really was a monster. And he was only a few years younger than Dipper too, which, made the situation that much more disturbing.
The merchandise turned out to be useful, though, as he spotted a bat nearby after a bookcase almost fell on him. He tore it out of its wrapping (why did Gideon have this as something to be bought?) and charged the kid, who wasn't facing him for the moment. He gave a yell and swung the bat - only to have it fall from his grasp as he was lifted into the air by the telekinesis.
Yep, he was doomed.
But then suddenly Mabel was here as he was struggling to move a muscle, any muscle at all as the scissors headed for his tongue (seriously, what was wrong with this kid?). He didn't know why she was here but all he could think of was the creep attacking her too or hurting him in front of her, and the fear surged inside of him.
How she managed to reason with Gideon was beyond him. She was always better dealing with emotional issues. Dipper found them too awkward to talk about with anyone other than his sister. A worry suddenly struck him: what if she actually meant it? What if she really was trying to stay friends with this psycho after nearly killing her brother?
No, he needn't have worried. Mabel was smarter than that.
She grabbed the amulet and he fell to the ground, wincing in pain as she yelled at the younger boy for hurting Dipper. When he was thrown the magical object, he couldn't help but taunt Gideon, trying to act as if he weren't in pain and out of breath from everything that had happened. Of course, this wasn't the smartest idea because then the kid got mad and the next thing he knew they were both falling out the window.
No, no, this can't be happening! I don't want to die like this, what'll happen to Mabel, I shouldn't have dropped the amulet on the way down, I'm going to die - !
And again, he needn't have worried. Mabel was a lot tougher than that, and saved them both, her eyes blazing with fury at Gideon as she floated down in a sort of bubble. The amulet was held high above her head as she snapped at him.
When she glanced at Dipper after breaking the amulet though, her expression momentarily softened and he knew she'd been worried about him. He did his best to give her a reassuring smile as Gideon went on a rant about how he'd get his vengeance or whatever.
Maybe the author was wrong about trusting nobody. Mabel was the only person he knew would have his back no matter what.
Okay, that last line was uncalled for but sorrynotsorry
