Guys...I might cry. I've already gotten 8 reviews, 9 favorites, and 11 followers on WitD, and all of the reviews have been so nice. I was really nervous about posting that chapter, but you all have accepted it really well and seem to like it a lot. Just... thank you so much. People in this fandom are so nice, I think I'm going to cry.

From xXBlazingBlueXx: "Okay, so you know the Gravity Falls short "That Thing" or "Candy Monster." Well, can you write a story about how they eventfully got the monster out of the Mystery Shack."

Ooh, I like this one. This short was funny. Enjoy!

Sweet Tooth

"So," Soos said, munching on a candy bar as they all grew bored of watching the television (well, except for that... thing), "what are we gonna do about this little dude?"

Mabel glanced over at the monster sitting next to her, who was currently staring wide-eyed at the screen and swallowing a golf club whole. She grimaced.

"Uh, I don't know. He attacked us when we tried to get him out before. Maybe leave a trail of candy to the door?"

At the word "candy", the creature looked over with a bright look that they interpreted as hopeful. Okay, so the thing seemed to understand them. This could be both a good and a bad thing.

"I think that's the safest option," Dipper said softly, trying to ignore how the creature crawled into his lap to grab the last golf club for a snack.

"Let's do it."

About ten minutes later, the strange creature was still watching The Duchess Approves and the trio had quietly (so as not to wake Stan or disturb the monster) set out a long trail of candies to the door. Dipper had a bat with him in case the thing tried to attack again, Mabel brought down her grappling hook, and Soos was eating a sandwich on the stairs to make sure it didn't try to run that way. The preteen boy sighed and adjusted his makeshift stuffed animal vest.

"Everybody ready? Know the plan?"

Mabel rolled her eyes. "You only said it a zillion times, bro-bro. Relax, it'll be fine! Just be ready to open the door, Dippingsauce!"

It was his turn to roll his eyes as his sister crept into the living room to shut off the TV. Soos munched as quietly as possible on his baloney sandwich, eyes narrowed in complete and utter focus. Truthfully this creeped Dipper out more than a little bit but he said nothing.

There was a click as the light dimmed in the other room and a low snarl from the creature. Mabel must have quickly showed it the candy trail though, because the snarl transformed into a soft squealing sort of sound and then the boys could hear it eating the sweets. All three silently mourned the loss of the Summerween candy.

It took only a minute for the thing to reach the front entranceway, only three pieces from the door that Dipper behind and held open. The candy monster crawled for the last pieces and ate them happily, but it didn't seem to be leaving. Mabel crept into view, looking worried when she noticed the monster was almost done and wasn't leaving the Shack.

Sure enough, it started back for the living room, intent on finishing that movie, but the girl stood her ground. She brandished the grappling hook in its face and gave a (soft) battle cry. The thing made a frightened sound and scurried for the stairs Soos guarded. It took one look at the man-child and began to run for the kitchen.

Dipper couldn't let that happen. He tackled the creature and it clawed his face, leaving angry red cuts. He gritted his teeth as Soos thankfully grabbed it by the scruff of its neck like a cat, his expression of utter focus. The man-child tossed it outside and Mabel hurriedly shut the door with a sigh of relief.

"You okay, bro-bro?"

He nodded, shakily standing. He'd probably have to disinfect those cuts; who knew what sort of diseases this thing had? "Yeah. Th - Thanks, Soos. You saved me."

Their friend nodded solemnly, chewing his sandwich still. "I know I was supposed to guard the stairs, but I couldn't let that thing get you, dude. You guys are more important."

A warmth spread through the twins' hearts and they smiled widely at Soos.

"Hey, wanna finish watching that weird movie?" Soos asked, checking the time. "It's pretty late, but I'm not really tired."

"Yeah, me neither."

"Why not? After all, I did almost get my face torn off."

"You' re exaggerating, Dip."

"Did you see the size of those claws?"

"Again, exaggerating!"

Soos sighed as they continued to argue, even throughout the old film (which was really quite bad) until he noted that they both fell asleep against his side. Smiling, the older male brought them upstairs and put them to bed before leaving the Mystery Shack. After all, he was supposed to take care of his family, right?

I don't know why this grew so Soos-centric or fluffy but...I kinda like it.
