"Oh, what's that?" asked little Suzy
"It's a puzzle, I'll show you" said Siobhan
She opened the box and poured out the pieces. Her two little girls with their dark brown eyes so much like their Dadai stared with wonder at the pile before them. Siobhan picked up a few pieces and showed them how the cardboard pieces connected together. Susan, who was almost three, immediately started helping. But Nessa, who was one took off with the big cardboard pieces of the puzzle and commenced with giggling.
"Nessa, come back with that!" said Suzy
"Don't worry about it, honey. We will get it back later" said Siobhan
"But Mamai, she will eat it"
"That is a good point"
"Yeah"
"O.k Nessa, come here"
Nessa turned around at her Mamai's voice. She looked directly at Siobhan and smiled. Then she ran toward her Mamai with arms wide open for a hug. The puzzle piece had been forgotten.
As mother and daughter hugged, the front door opened and Warren walked in. The years had not changed him much. He still wore a leather jacket and long dyed hair. The difference was that now he was a welder and not a High School bad boy.
"What are my girls doing?"
"Dadai, Nessa stole my puzzle" said Suzy
"Is that so?"
Siobhan, who was still hugging the little thief, smiled up at her mate and he smiled back in return.
