Crimson Rising
Chapter 46: Elastic Heart
And I will stay up through the night
Let's be clear, won't close my eyes
And I know that I can survive
I'll walk through fire to save my life
And I want it, I want my life so bad
I'm doing everything I can
Then another one bites the dust
It's hard to lose a chosen one
You did not break me
I'm still fighting for peace
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart,
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubberband until you pull too hard,
I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
Cause I've got an elastic heart

En Route to Earth
"Sire, we should be arriving on Earth in just a few hours," the soldier reported.
"Good, have you found anything on the subject I asked about?" the King asked.
"Sire...I wish there was, but stories of people coming back to life are just myths. No such objects of resurrection exist. Any leads we have had have turned out to be wild space chases," the soldier reported. The King slammed his wine glass down, shattering it to pieces and sending the liquid spilling all over the table.
"Then the ranger that came back to life on Mirinoi was just a myth?!" he screamed in rage.
"Because I believe she walks among the living. If it's those quasar sabers that did it, then I want them!" he ordered.
"I know something with far greater properties than the quasar sabers, my Lord," a woman's voice said. They turned to find an ordinary looking human woman standing there. The guards immediately descended upon her.
"Intruder!" one shouted.
"How did you get in here?" the other demanded. She stared at them and her eyes became black as night and the men stood still, almost hypnotized by her movements.
"You will step aside now," she hissed. They lowered their weapons and let her pass.
"How...how did you do that?" he asked, as her eyes cleared.
"To the silly Earthlings, I'm known simply as Elaine Bradwick, one of their leaders. But in reality, I am a snake ninja and a Master of disguise and suggestion," she said.
"And what is it that you want?" he asked. She put her hand on his arm.
"Only to help, Your Majesty. We both share a hatred for rangers...or more specifically for me, ninjas of the light. I can bring your son back," she hissed. His eyes widened.
"How?" he demanded to know. She smirked and held up a grayish black hued gem.
"This is the gem of resurrection and with my master's magic, he believes he can resurrect Xinshing. Of course, it would be much more simple if we had the sister stone, the gem of souls. But that's one more thing that Hunter Bradley has destroyed," she said. The King growled at the name.
"He must pay," he shouted. She smirked.
"Oh he will, with your help, of course," she said, as she approached his soldiers.
"Sire...I don't think you should trust this wench!" one cried. She smirked and her eyes became black again, as she hypnotized them.
"They are under your spell again," he noticed.
"I can make them do anything I want with a mere suggestion when they are in this state," she said, as she approached the one that had spoke against her.
"Put your sword through your heart," she ordered. The King watched in horror, as his own soldier committed suicide at her command. She looked to the other.
"I'll spare you. Leave now and speak of this to no one," she ordered, as the soldier did as she commanded.
"You...you can really bring my sons back?" the King asked.
"My Master can. He only needs one thing from you," she replied.
"Anything!" he pleaded. She chuckled.
"So glad to hear that, Your Majesty, because he only needs a willing host," she replied, as her eyes darkened and she hypnotized him. Though he could not move now, she could see the regret and fear in his eyes, as he realized his fatal error. She laughed evilly and raised the gem.
"Silly fool...my Master has no need for your idiotic sons, but he does need power like yours to stand against the crimson ranger. You're about to become greater than you can imagine!" she exclaimed, as the stone glowed and essence shot forth and down the King's throat. The King's green skin darkened slightly and bluish yellow snakes swirled around his body. He remained mostly unchanged other than the slightly darker green skin and now two live serpent heads on each shoulder. She smirked and released her human form, revealing her mutant self, which was possibly more frightening than his. Her human female form remained and her skin became ash gray, while her hair was alive with snakes. She knelt before him.
"Master," she said obediently.
"Arise Hebina," he commanded, using her dark ninja name. She did and placed the gem around his neck.
"Now no one can force you out of this body...not even the rangers with their powers," she hissed.
"Return to Earth and proceed as planned. I will be there soon to deal with the rangers," he ordered.
"And if Ivan Ooze tries to interfere?" she asked. He smirked.
"Let him. I won't be brushed aside by the likes of him any longer," Vile replied.
Washington D.C.
"Good evening America and thank you for joining me on this bittersweet evening. I'm Gina Barnes," the reporter announced.
"And I'm John Sims. Tonight, even as the country still mourns the death of President Morris, we take a brave step forward and inaugurate our new President," he stated.
"Yes, tonight, we officially name former Vice President Shaw as our new Commander and Chief," Gina continued, as many Senators, officials, and house representatives filed in behind them into the capital building. Many other high profile individuals and even some Hollywood stars were also in attendance.
"As many of you know, President Morris was murdered by a power ranger just a few weeks ago," Gina stated.
"Many claim that our President wasn't what he seemed and the ranger's hand was forced, but Speaker of the House, Madam Elaine Bradwick has stated repeatedly that power rangers, especially those that practice the Ninja Arts, cannot be trusted. The issue continues to divide the nation in a time where we are still under constant alien attack," John continued.
Trent scowled at the reports, as he blended in perfectly with a nearby stone pillar on the capital steps.
"I hate reporters," he grumbled, as he moved around the pillar out of sight and raised his phone to his ear.
"I'm in position," he said.
"Me too. Jason and Tommy smuggled everyone else in too. You forgot to use your code name though," Adam replied. He was hidden behind another pillar in a parallel position to Trent's. The white Drago ranger rolled his eyes.
"White Drago to Black Frog...code names are stupid," Trent grumbled. Adam smirked.
"You always have such a sunny disposition," Adam joked, as he hung up his phone.
Jason shadowed Gorbin, unbeknownst to him of course and found a tree to conceal himself, as he pulled out his phone.
"Are you in position, rainbow ranger?" he asked.
"That's not my code name," Tommy replied with disdain. Jason smirked.
"Just answer the question," Jason said.
"I'm shadowing the secret service and I've got Conner and Ethan hidden nearby," Tommy replied.
"How about you, fire boy?" Jason asked.
"I'm on standby. I've got Dustin burrowing his way underground. He should almost be in position," Hunter answered.
"We're less than five minutes away from the President's speech," Jason said.
"Rito is ready and in position," Zedd stated.
Shane took out a small visor device and put it to his eyes. He could see everything from his position in the tree. It was unnoticed by everyone else, but since he knew what to look for, he saw Dustin burrowing his way beneath the ground and into position.
"Dustin is almost in position, you guys ready?" Shane asked.
Tori and Hunter waited in the shadows, as the President moved to the podium.
"We're ready. Do we have eyes on the assassin yet?" Hunter asked.
"He's disguised as a GAMA guardian. The fifth one from the podium," Rito answered. Hunter spotted the man and nodded.
"I've got eyes on him. We're ready," Hunter replied. Tori squeezed his hand and they shared a soft look, before their sole attention was on the podium.
The crowd quieted and the new President took notice of the many protestors around the capital that were safely kept at bay from the event. But it reminded nonetheless of the turmoil in the nation and even the world. If you had told him when he was a boy that he would one day be President, he probably would have been skeptical, though he had always wanted to do good for his country. If you had told him that he would be President during a planetary wide alien attack, he would have just thought you belonged in an asylum.
Furthermore, he was well aware that he had possible enemies in his own cabinet. He knew he couldn't trust Gorbin and had no way of knowing who else was in league with him. So he had no choice but to press on and try to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences to himself. He was a young politician by comparison and relatively inexperienced in politics compared to many around him. He was one of the youngest Senators from Colorado in the state's history and was one of the youngest vice President's and now President's in history as well. That often lead his colleagues to believe he was quite naive about the way things worked in Washington. He however, like his wife often told him, liked to think he wasn't as corrupt as those cronies.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight's occasion is bittersweet for us. In the grand tradition of our country, tonight I am officially inaugurated into office of Commander and Chief," he began.
"The last few months have been confusing and trying for not only the nation, but the world. In his latter days, our President made some decisions that were difficult to understand, but nonetheless, the was our leader and we will always honor him," he continued.
"Our planet is in peril and under constant attack by an alien force and we have shunned our only line of defense against them simply because we were mad that they didn't share their identities with us. We must not condemn the rangers in one breath and cry for their help in the next any longer," the new President stated.
"Divided, we will be conquered by this evil, so I ask that the bickering and political pandering end," he continued.
"You're the only thing that needs to end!" a voice cried, as a man dressed as a GAMA guardian pulled his weapon. None of the other guardians moved to stop him and the President stood frozen in fear, as bullets left the gun. Suddenly, a ball of fire intercepted the bullets, incinerating them, before they could cause harm. The man fired his gun at Hunter, but the bullets were harmlessly absorbed by his thunder shield. The water in the nearby fountain mysteriously gathered together, as Tori bended it and thrust it at him, hosing him to the ground. The paparazzi was going wild, but the others kept them at bay mostly. One over zealous reporter attempted to push past Blake, but he held up a hand that was alive with navy thunder.
"Seriously dude, unless you want me to fry that camera, you'll stay back," he threatened. Hunter picked up the soaked perpetrator with one arm and tossed him at Tommy's feet.
"What is the meaning of this?" Madam Speaker Bradwick demanded to know.
"It's obvious. This man is sympathetic to these rangers. This is what I have been trying to tell you, Mr. President," Gorbin chided.
"That's a load of crap," Jason refuted, as he pushed passed the General.
"Yeah General, why don't you tell them how you and Ms. Bradwick conspired to hire this guy to assassinate the President," Rito said.
"What is he talking about?" the President questioned.
"Pay this fool no mind, Sir. It seems there is a traitor in our midst and I will see that this soldier is court marshaled for this," Gorbin said gruffly.
"Except that you're the only traitor here, General. You and Speaker Bradwick, perhaps," Zedd mentioned.
"Oh right and this coming from the likes of you Lord Zedd," Gorbin scoffed.
"Touche, but unfortunately this man is no officer that you've hired. He's actually my brother-in-law and we planted him within your ranks to expose you for exactly who you are, General," Zedd retorted, taking Gorbin by surprise. Rito smirked.
"Yep and I have proof of everything," Rito added, as he held up a flash drive and handed it to the President.
"You should review all this information, Mr. President and fire your entire cabinet and staff," Rito advised to the stunned man.
"I don't care what you think you have proved," Gorbin hissed, as he pulled his gun. But before he could fire, Trini used her telekinesis to pull it from his hand. Jason caught it and took the clip out, before tossing to Hunter, who crushed the barrel with his brute strength and tossed it away. Gorbin motioned to his men.
"You can't dismantle all our weapons," he said confidently. But to their surprise, the President stepped in.
"I want you to think about following the General's orders," he said, addressing the GAMA guardians and other government agents.
"If you continue to follow him or Speaker Bradwick, you will be prosecuted for treason right alongside the two of them," the President warned. Slowly, the GAMA guardians and other agents lowered their weapons.
"What are you doing?" Elaine Bradwick demanded to know.
"He's the Commander and Chief. They don't take orders from you anymore," Wes said, as he and Eric came forward.
"Mr. President, I respectfully request that control of my father's company, Bio Lab be returned to him and that command of the Silver Guardians be given back to myself and Mr. Myers," Wes stated. The President nodded.
"It was never General Gorbin's to take. They're all yours, Mr. Collins," he replied.
"And our status as criminals?" Tommy asked.
"I'm revoking that decision as well," President Shay replied.
"You can't do that, Mr. President. You may be able to overrule Gorbin's control of Bio Lab and the GAMA guardians, but you'll have to get the other decision repealed through the House and Senate," she said smugly.
"Then that will be a top priority. Meanwhile, you're both going to jail while I fire most of my staff and hire new," the President replied.
"What's your deal anyway?" Shane questioned the woman.
"Yeah, why hate rangers?" Dustin asked curiously.
"What she really hates is ninjas, don't you Elaine? Unless they're dark ninjas, like yourself, that is," Cam said, as he appeared in a streak of green teleportation.
"She's a ninja?" Tori asked.
"Was, before she was banished nearly five hundred years ago. Dad and I really had to dig through the old dusty scrolls for this one," Cam stated. The other blanched.
"That's impossible," Trent refuted.
"Probably not given everything we've seen as rangers," Tommy reminded him.
"You were a thunder ninja, but not a particularly good one, though that didn't matter when you found the gem of resurrection," Cam explained.
"Gem of resurrection?" Hunter asked. Cam nodded.
"The gem of souls was an object of good and as you can imagine, the gem of resurrection was an object of evil," Cam replied.
"Interesting little fairy tale, but it's complete nonsense," Elaine refuted.
"Except that it's not. When your father was executed for his own dabbling in the dark ninja arts, you became filled with rage and thirsted for revenge again the Thunder Ninja Academy. It's all documented in the ancient scrolls," Cam accused.
"Executed? That's harsh," Blake said. Cam shrugged.
"Back in those days, that was the penalty for using your powers for evil. It was only reduced to banishment in the last few centuries," Cam explained. Dustin scratched his head.
"I still don't get it," Dustin complained.
"There's a surprise," Cam replied sarcastically.
"Don't be mean, dude," Blake chided.
"If she's really a dark ninja, then what's her deal?" Hunter asked.
"Let me guess...she's trying to first control the country, before she can move onto world domination. But what exactly makes the resurrection stone so evil?" Tori asked. Cam smiled.
"I love how you're so much smarter than them," he said appreciatively.
"You're an ass," Hunter said to Cam, making Tori smile.
"Go on Elaine, why don't you tell us what the resurrection stone does? Like how it kept you from shriveling up and dying? Or how you tried to use to resurrect your father and it backfired," Cam said.
"You're all crazy. This is why rangers are so dangerous!" she called out.
"They tell these wild stories and expect you all to believe them. They take us all for fools!" she shouted.
"They're not just stories. When Lothor returned, he sought you out, because you're the one that taught him the dark arts in the first place. You were lovers and he knew you had the resurrection stone. He seduced you and convinced you that he could bring your father's soul back to the living," Cam stated, as the woman's features slowly darkened at his words.
"That's nasty...who would want to do it with Lothor," Dustin commented.
"It's creating all kinds of images I never wanted to think about, that's for sure," Blake said with a sour look on his face.
"Shh..." Shane shushed them.
"And he did bring your father's soul back with the stone, but he was nothing more than another of his soulless minions, because you can't bring back the dead. The stone can only preserve a living body or confine a soul to a mindless shell," Cam said. She barred her teeth.
"Shut up!" she cried.
"A soulless minion?" Hunter asked.
"A kelzack?" Tori asked in confusion. Cam nodded.
"Dude...I told you! Kelzacks are zombies!" Dustin exclaimed. Shane sighed.
"Be quiet," he ordered.
"I was right...Zombie Apocalypse!" Dustin ranted, as Tori smacked his arm.
"You're not helping," she chided. He smirked though, clearly pleased with himself.
"When neither of you could make the gem of resurrection work the way it was supposed to, he tossed you aside and moved onto other plans," Cam said.
"Nothing worse than a woman scorned," Shane mentioned.
"He promised me he could bring my father back!" she screamed. Blake scoffed.
"Yeah, my bro and I learned the hard way that Lothor was a liar," Blake replied.
"And a dick," Hunter added.
"Besides, we killed Lothor so you should be thanking us," Dustin added.
"Except that she hates us more. We took away her chance for revenge on Lothor so we're her targets now. We've been doing a lot of digging lately since all of this started," Cam said.
"What do you mean?" Tori asked.
"On the day that Vile, posing as President Morris, revealed our identities to the world, Toxa was also attacking while we were on Phaedos," Cam explained.
"We know that. She destroyed the Thunder Academy," Hunter said.
"No she didn't. We assumed that she did, but then Leo mentioned that she arrived with Xinshing on Mirinoi around that same time. Ivan was probably mad that you had shown her up in battle and wanted Xin to keep an eye on her. She wasn't on Earth when the Academy was destroyed," Cam replied.
"Then who..." Blake started, but didn't finish, as they saw Elaine's eyes go black.
"You should have heard their screams, as I lit them all up like torches!" she hissed. Hunter and Blake charged her in rage, but she caught them off guard and blew them back with her dark powers, as she morphed into her mutant snake form.
"I am Hebina, snake ninja, and apprentice to the great Master Vile," she hissed.
"Vile...I should have known," Zedd growled.
"There's another face that not even a mother could love," Kim quipped, as they all fell into a defensive stance. Even Gorbin's face was stricken with surprise.
"Still think we're the enemies, General?" Jason asked, as they willed their morphers into sight. The wind picked up and nearly blew them off their feet.
"We've got company!" Adam called, as a large spaceship emerged from the clouds.
"The Duronian armada!" Zedd yelled.
"Like we didn't have enough problems," Hunter growled.
"You caused this! They're here for you, crimson ranger!" Hebina hissed. The ship loomed above them and landed nearby on the vast White House lawn. The King was flanked by his most powerful soldiers, as they approached.
"Let's not take any chances!" Hunter called.
"It's Morphin Time!" Tommy and Zack called for their teams.
"Dino Thunder, Power up!" Jason and Conner called for their teams.
"White Ranger, Dino Power!" Trent called.
"Ninja Storm!" Shane called.
"Thunder Storm!" Blake called.
"Samurai Storm!" Cam called.
"Phoenix Storm!" Hunter called.
"Ranger Form, Ha!"
When they arrived, they faced a fully morphed team and the King smirked.
"You can't even face me, can you ranger?" the King hissed. Hunter willed his visor open, his silvery blue eyes piercing through the King.
"You're not welcome on this planet. I suggest you leave or things are going to get ugly," Hunter warned. But the King and his men only laughed heartily in amusement.
"You don't scare us, Phoenix ranger. I know how to deal with someone like you," the King said mysteriously.
"Spread out. Show the humans no mercy," the King ordered. As the Duronians began to scatter, the rangers quickly attacked.
Jason and Shane charged at the first one that was headed for the President. The red wind ranger propelled himself into the air, as the alien slashed at him. Jason released an energy orb, landing a direct hit, while Shane slashed at him. The Duronian was clearly surprised, having been told that the Phoenix ranger was the only one they really had to worry about. He quickly recovered and charged again. But they were ready and Shane blasted him with a swirling tornado, carrying him high into the air. Jason tossed his Brachio staff to Kim, who threaded the weapon in her bow. Aiming perfectly, the staff glowed, alive with golden energy and she took her shot. The staff went right through his chest and Shane released his air attack, as the alien fell dead to the ground.
Tori and Blake intercepted another that was heading for the crowd of now scattering people, though several reporters and cameramen foolishly tried to keep getting footage of the battle. Tori shot twin water beams at the advancing alien and it slowed him down considerably, much to his annoyance.
"A little water isn't going to stop me, stupid girl," he growled.
"You're right, but a lot of water will," Tori retorted, as she summoned the water in the nearby lake, bending it to her will and sending it barreling toward him. Blake smirked and hurled a thunderbolt, meeting with her attack just as it struck the soldier, violently electrocuting him. He growled and struck at them, even as he trembled violently from the after effects of their attack. He smacked Blake away and lunged at Tori, who gracefully flipped over him. She grabbed him around the neck and bent him back.
"Rocky now!" she called. Rocky wound his arm back and with his super strength, he struck the neck with a knife punch, decapitating him.
"I see that you and your friends have been training hard," the King mentioned, unfazed by the deaths of his soldiers.
"We're done playing nice. Get the hell off this planet or die. Your choice," Hunter spat. But the King simply smirked.
"I always wondered how much it would take to push a ranger to be ruthless. You'll be no better than us, you know," he chided.
"No...we're nothing like you. But we also won't stand to have our people slaughtered by your kind again. We'll kill you before we let anymore more earthlings die," Hunter retorted. The King chuckled.
"Oh, I would very much like to see you try," the King hissed, as he stared intently at the crimson ranger. Hunter felt his senses tingling. He tried to shake it away, but searing pain invaded his mind like someone was shoving a dagger in his brain. He fell to his knees and held his head in agony, as the Duronian King tortured him.
"I wondered how long it would be until showed your face again, Vile," Zedd spat, as he reached his hand toward his nephew to release him from Master Vile's hold. But shock marred his face when he found himself unable to sever Vile's attack. Vile and Hebina laughed evilly.
"Sorry Zeddy, but Hebina has intercepted your magic. Her hypnotic powers can deflect your powers," Vile said. By this time, Hunter had been forced to rip his helmet off, as he writhed in agony. The horrible creature knelt down beside him and two of her snakes hissed, snapping their jaws at him, narrowly missing.
"Don't look into her eyes!" Zedd cried. Hunter tried not to look at her, but she grabbed his face, forcing him to look at her. He clenched his eyes shut and screamed in agony, as the attack on his mind worsened.
"Open your eyes and all the pain goes away," she purred.
"Don't do it Hunter...don't let her hypnotize you! Don't let her control you!" Zedd pleaded, as he fought one of the Duronian soldiers. He peaked an eye open and then shut it again.
"That's it...open your eyes..." she hissed. Suddenly, Vile's attack was severed, as Tori arrived. She knelt beside him, as he slowly recovered, finally released from the pain.
"So...you're the barrier my Master told me about," Hebina hissed. Tori's visor opened and she glared at the creature.
"No Tori...close your eyes!" Zedd pleaded. Hebina chuckled.
"You stupid girl...now you'll be my willing pawn," she said delightfully, as her eyes went black. But Tori glared right back at her, unchanged, and Hebina frowned.
"What are you waiting for! This is the one I told you to kill!" Vile screamed.
"It's...it's not working!" Hebina panicked. Hunter looked at her in amazement and they got to their feet.
"You can't protect him if I blast you into oblivion!" he screamed, as he launched an energy blast directly at Tori. But Hunter stepped in and met it with his own fireball. The attacks canceled each other and two of Hebina's horrid snakes launched at Tori, latching onto her armor.
"Their acid will eat through all that armor and then their bite will be the end of you!" Hebina hissed. Hunter ripped them off before they could make a dent in her armor and incinerated them with a fire blast. Hebina saw the blast coming and knew she was in trouble. Thinking quickly, she grabbed one of the Duronian soldiers and sacrificed him by throwing him into the blast so she could get away. She changed into her snake form and slithered up her master's arm.
"This isn't over rangers," he warned, as he glared at the crimson and blue before him.
"And you two won't always be able to protect each other," he warned, before he and his remaining two soldiers disappeared. The ship left the atmosphere, but they were sure it would be staying in orbit.
"Well...that was eventful," Rocky quipped, as they powered down.
"Can that freaky snake lady really hypnotize anyone, aside from Tori apparently, to do whatever she wants?" Shane asked.
"Snake ninjas are possibly the most dangerous type of dark ninja. Their powers aren't easy to master, but this one has had centuries to perfect her craft," Cam said.
"Cam is right. Don't underestimate her. She'll hijack your mind and you'll carry out whatever order she gives, even if she asks you to harm others or yourself," Zedd warned them all.
"Dang...like things aren't complicated enough," Conner mentioned.
"Do you think Ooze is going to let Vile just run his own show?" Jason asked. Zedd shrugged.
"He's a sadistic bastard, so he'll probably get a kick out of it. He'll let him until he tires of it and decides to take control. Vile in possession of a Durionian body is quite possibly the worst case scenario I could have thought of," Zedd replied.
"Well, nothing's ever easy for this bunch, but we did just save the President, a whole bunch of people, and got the Silver Guardian's back," Wes mentioned.
"He's right, look over there," Dustin said, pointing to his right where General Gorbin was being arrested.
"It's about time. That's definitely a huge win for us," Jason replied.
"Rangers, may I have a moment of your time," the President asked.
"Of course Sir," Jason answered.
"I'm not sure exactly what all just happened here, but I do know that everyone here, including me especially, owes you their lives. I will be motioning the House and Senate in the morning to invalidate Speaker Bradwick's martial law and revoke the warrants out for your arrest," the President said. Smiles and hive fives broke out among them.
"Thank you Mr. President," Tommy said graciously.
"The earth is still in a lot of danger, but we won't stop until both Ivan Ooze and Master Vile are defeated," Adam promised. The President nodded.
"What about Hunter?" Tori asked bluntly, as all eyes turned to her.
"There were a lot of people demanding that he be made to leave earth, because he wasn't born here," she continued. The President smiled.
"I owe you my life, Mr. Bradley, so I insist that you stay indefinitely," he announced, as he was flanked by the secret service and whisked back to the White House. The press, cameras flashing, now barreled toward them.
"Uh Hayley...can you get us out here?" Cam called into his communicator.
"Say please," she chimed back. Cam rolled his eyes.
"Pretty please, before we get trampled and blinded by flash bulbs," he replied. Before the reporters could reach them, they all disappeared.
Ivan Ooze's spaceship
Ivan Ooze cackled evilly, as he observed the battle on Earth.
"Oh Master Vile...you are going to make this very interesting," Ivan chuckled.
"Father...why didn't we interfere? That fool is no match for you and the rangers continue to grow stronger," Toxa complained.
"Relax daughter, we will let the rangers kill themselves trying to thwart the Duronian army. Their King has betrayed me, even before his meeting with Master Vile, and I'll let the rangers deal with them. I'll step in when it's time for my end game," Ooze replied.
"And may I ask what the end game is, father?" Toxa asked. He smirked, as his eyes glowed purple with carefully concealed rage.
"It will end when I throw the Phoenix ranger into the Fire Pits and trap him there for eternity, just like his ancestor did to me..."
