From Anonymous (Guest): "Can you write one more Reverse Pines story? But with more Gideon and Pacifica? Like they're just hanging out at the Mystery Shack (kind of after the Pines Twins are arrested)."

Sure! I hope you enjoy the one-shot!

Simple Times

Only hours after the incident with the Gleeful twins and already Gideon was starting to feel more relaxed. They couldn't hurt them anymore. They were going to prison for fooling the town - and hopefully wouldn't be getting out to enact revenge anytime soon.

He sighed to himself, scrolling through the TV channels idly. It was okay now. The twins were behind bars and he wasn't going home anytime soon.

As much as he had hated coming here to Gravity Falls in the first place, the place had grown on him. Going back to Texas where his father and his mother were waiting...the idea of that wasn't appealing anymore. He didn't have friends back home or people who accepted his interest in the supernatural as easily as the townsfolk in Gravity Falls.

"Hey, dork." Gideon looked up and a smile twitched at his lips. Speak of the devil.

Pacifica sat down on the armrest of the chair he currently resided in, ignoring how he rolled his eyes at her lack of concern for personal space. "What are you watching?"

"Just scrolling," he admitted, still flipping through the various TV channels. A news report came on and he paused briefly, watching as Shandra Jimenez spoke about incident earlier that day. He noticed Pacifica reaching over before she put her hand on his shoulder but made no move to stop her.

"Do you think things like this are going to happen all summer long?" Gideon's voice was surprisingly small and he wished he could take back his words so his friend didn't think he was scared. He wasn't. He really wasn't.

The blonde sighed and rolled her eyes. As she did so though, he noted that a playful smirk tugged at her lips.

"Geez, haven't you been here for the past month or so? These things happen all the time, Gideon. We almost die, like, every other day."

"That's not what I mean." He gestured to the TV. "Things like being kicked out of the Shack. Like being chased by giant robots because the Gleefuls want the journal. That's not...what happened earlier wasn't something that usually happens, Paz. I thought I was really being sent home, for good."

She grew quiet as Gideon spoke. He didn't meet her eyes, refusing to acknowledge the trembling in his hands.

Yes, he liked Gravity Falls a lot more than he had initially. That didn't mean he had stopped becoming scared of the fact that everything seemed to be out to get him and Pacifica, though.

The hand on his shoulder squeezed gently as the blonde leaned over to look him in the eye. He hesitantly met her gaze, startled by the strangely serious expression on her face.

"Gideon Pines, you're my best friend in the whole world. Do you really think that I'd give up that easily if you were really going to be sent back to Texas? And hey, you didn't just sit back and let things happen either! You punched Dipper right in the face! You saved our butts back there!"

"You had the grappling hook, though. We would have died without - "

"And," she interrupted him, giving him a shut up look, "you know what? If something as terrifying as the thought of my best friend leaving town happens again, you know what I will do? I'm going to give whatever sucker a kick in the butt and tell him to get a life. Because nobody," she jabbed him in the chest hard, "is going to send you home without my permission. Got it?"

Gideon was sure his face was as red as a tomato. "Y-Yeah."

Pacifica beamed and took the remote from him, switching the channel and cutting off Shandra's voice. "Good! The sooner you realize that, the better. We're the Mystery Kids, remember?"

"I still think that name is lame."

"Your name is lame."

Gideon chuckled, knowing she was just teasing. "Whatever, Paz. Could you switch the channel so we can watch Ducktective?"

"Sure thing, dork."

Yes, Gideon could definitely get used to things being more like this.

Sorry for taking forever to update. I promise I will update WitD as well, but I don't know when the next update will be. I will also be away without internet access until probably the day of the newest Gravity Falls episode (no joke). But I promise to try and update both Introverted and WitD before the new episode comes.

So, who else is excited about the new episode? Because I definitely am!
