Chapter 4
Say I Love You When You're Not Listening
I came home early today. I need to be spaced from Neville. I could have killed him, I was so thirsty. I walk into Madame Pomfrey and get my blood bag, which turns into three blood bags.
I walk into my dorm and sit in my bed with the book to get to Stage Five: Gaining Humanity, sleeping a total of 8, 9 ½ hours, eating, less blood drinking, etc.
To get to Stage Five: You must save a person's life. IT MUST BE A GOOD PERSON. You will gain your humanity and other attributes such as being able to walk into places without having to be invited in. You can save a bad person's life, but you will be pushed back to Stage Four. You should try to eat three meals as always and snacks in between (MORTAL FOOD!) meals to get used how it will be when it comes time to eat. Exercise more so you can get rid of excess calories. Try to drink many fluids that aren't bodily to get energy and replace the water you will lose (Sweat).
I put it away and go to eat lunch. I sit at the small table he has for those who stayed during Christmas so I can eat. I eat a slice of ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a bit of pudding. I eat slowly and think of what I should do for Christmas, since I will be staying here. I leave and go up to the common room where Neville and Hannah are snogging like there's no tomorrow.
I go up the steps and, when Hannah comes up and shoos me out, I walk into the common room to see Dean. I grab his hand and drag him up to the astronomy tower. We sit on the bench and I tell him about how I feel and what this is doing to me.
He comforts me and says that Neville will be able to see what he's lost soon enough. We go into his dorm. Neville is asleep with Hannah in his bed and they're unclothed to their undergarments. I stoop to Neville's ear and say, "I Love You, Neville."
I walk into my own dorm and fall asleep quickly.
