CHAPTER 2

Meeting the new agents

As I got my papers ready, my thoughts carried away. I was barely aware of my surroundings. I was speechless and at the same time very excited, to have my own team. It is all thanks to Uncle Gibbs. He did not want any new members on his handpicked team. I never in a million years thought that I would ever have the opportunity to get my own team.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by Uncle Gibbs giving Dinozzo a head slap. Not understanding what he has done, Ziva spoke up and cleared the uncertainty. Bella he thinks you're hot (wolf whistle). I could not stop the giggle that escaped my lips and the furious blush creeping up my cheeks. "Look likes she's blushing!" Dinozzo said with a smirk, which earned him another head slap from Uncle Gibbs. Dinozzo just looked at him puzzled, asking "What did I do now boss? "Leave her alone Dinozzo!" he mumbled. Uncle Gibbs came over to my desk and telling me it's time to go home now.

Packing up all my stuff and accompany Uncle Gibbs to the door. Just before we entered the elevator, NCIS's only Goth came running to me, "No no!" she said "You think you can go home without giving me a hug?" Giving her a big hug saying "see you tomorrow Abby."

We went down to Uncle Gibbs's car, which was a red BMW convertible. This reminded me of Rosalie and how much I missed them. A lonely tear ran down my cheek, abruptly I wiped the tear down before Uncle Gibbs noticed it.

We drove in a very comfortable silence until Uncle Gibbs's voice drifted up to my ears. With a worried look he looked at me and for a second he looked just like Charlie. I was really dreading this conversation, because I knew it will be about Charlie. It still hurts a lot and I don't want to talk about it yet. My heart was very vulnerable and the only thing to protect myself and save me from any further heartache was not to think about what happened in Forks.

Uncle Gibbs asked me about my vampire boyfriend and why he left me. I told him that my ex-boyfriend told me that I was just a distraction to him and that he didn't love me anymore. All of this happened on my birthday. His brother attacked me, because Jasper is still new to the diet. I don't hold any anger or grudge against Jasper, for it was my mistake, I should have been more careful, I thought bitterly to myself. I could not tell any of this to Uncle Gibbs, he would surely think I'm crazy and put me away for a very long time. So I settled by telling him my boyfriend left me. Opening up towards me Uncle Gibbs told me that he knows it's hard, but I should let go because it will end up hurting me more. He spoke from experience; hence he went through the same thing with my aunty Sharon.

When their daughter Kelly was only 3 years old, aunty Sharon took Kelly and left. She told him that she could not do this anymore. Uncle Gibbs was dedicated to his job, so Aunty Sharon left with Kelly.

Six years later they were in a fatal car accident. Kelly died on impact and Aunty Sharon died a week later in hospital. "I wish I could take everything back, but I can't, baby girl!" Uncle Gibbs replied sadly.

We pulled up to the penthouse, Uncle Gibbs turn off the car and turned to me. He took me in his arms and holds me tight while I sobbed without end. I told Uncle Gibbs that I still loved my ex-boyfriend and I hope that he would come back to me one day. While crying until there were no more tears to cry, Uncle Gibbs told me its okay and hold me tighter against his chest.

Going into the penthouse I went to the bathroom to wash my face. Halfway down the stairs I heard Uncle Gibbs called out from the kitchen. He ordered Chinese for us, knowing it was my favorite. I did not realize how hungry I am until we started eating. Washing up and cleaning the kitchen it was already 10pm. saying goodnight to Uncle Gibbs and headed to my old bedroom.

Heading to the shower with my pj's, I passed the mirror. For a while I was astonished with my new appearance. My brown hair was the frame for my small face and my brown contact lenses made a huge difference. Five years ago I had icy blue eyes and blond hair.

It was time to get into the shower where I stood like in forever, where the hot water relaxed my muscles and my tired mind. Just before the water went cold on me, I washed quickly and jumped out.

Getting into bed I knew it would be a night with not much sleep. I curled into bed and tried to sleep. Restlessly tossing and turning, having nightmares of him again. The red letters on the clock showed it was 05h30. I knew I had to get up and dressed. I chose a tight fitting top and skinny jeans. To go with that I put on my 8 inches high heels. Alice would be proud of me wearing them and actually be able to walk and run in them. Not being the clumsy girl I used to be. Thinking about my pixie like friend made my chest hurt with enormous pain.

The smell of bacon and eggs coming from the kitchen made my stomach growl loudly. Hurriedly I finished by putting on some lip-gloss and eyeliner. I did not want to waste more time so I let my hair down. The delicious smell from the kitchen met me halfway up the stairs.

Unlike my dad Uncle Gibbs was a great chef. With my mouth stuffed with food already I replied to my uncle's good morning greeting. Bella was in a very good mood and she sang while she washed the dishes.

In the driveway Uncle Gibbs was leaning against a red Honda Civic. "It is your home coming present, Bells!" Jumping up and down, screaming with pleasure. The way Alice would do when something went the way she wanted it. I gave Uncle Gibbs a big hug and kiss to say thank you! Telling Uncle Gibbs that I would meet him at Headquarters. On the way there Uncle Gibbs did not let me out of his sight and stopped just behind me. That made me smile.

Back in the office, sitting at my desk, Director Vance came to call me. He said I must come immediately, because my agents arrived half an hour ago. My nerves were finally getting to me now. Especially when all the staff, Tony, McGee and Ziva said I would be fine. Asking Uncle Gibbs to accompany me I started to the office on the other side of the building. I stepped inside the office and my eyes locked with 4 pairs of very familiar golden eyes. Their facial expression mirrored mine and he whispered my name, Bella…
