Finns deep sleep was broken by the sound of the alarm clock. He stirred feeling something warm against his chest and opened his eyes to see Flame Princess snuggling up against him. He smiled seeing her fiery hair all a mess and the innocent smile on her face as he ran his han softly through her hair. She stirred a bit and tightened her grip on him as he wrapped his arms around her. "Hey its morning" he whispered as she groaned. "Please just a bit longer" he whined as she nuzzled into his neck. Finn sighed having no real choice as she smiled softly and continued to sleep. Marceline came floating in sucking the red out of an apple. "Hey your awake sleepy head." She smirked floating to a chair and pulling out a brush. "Yeah good morning Marcy. Flame Princess is still a bit sleepy tho.." Marceline smiled mischievously as she floated over behind Flame Princess. She giggled as she slowly slid a hand down her backside before sliding her hand into her panties. She slid her finger into her causing Flame Princess's eyes to shoot open and her to jump up with a yelp. Marceline began to laugh as she caught her. "Well good morning hot stuff" She smiled giving her a wink as her cheeks lit up red with embarrassment.
After a bit of cleaning up they all sat at the dinner table. "So Finn today you're gonna go to the Candy Kingdom and see Bonnie while we got to the new house and check out how its coming. Finn looked up curiously "What am I going to do with Princess Bubblegum?" Marceline shrugged "I don't know whatever you want really. you need to get to know her more since after all she is carrying your baby inside her." Finn blushed looking away a bit embarrassed "yeah your right." Marceline floated to him giving him a kiss on the cheek "Don't worry she puts up a tough front but I know you can crack her" she gives him a wink. "Well come on you too, I need to drop you off Finn on our way." Marceline put on her coat and sun hat before grabbing them and floating out the door. She took care to avoid the grasslands so Finn couldn't see the house as she floated across the woods before getting to the candy kingdom and dropping him on the steps. "Here we are, Bonnie's probably in her lab or something so go have fun with her" she laughed before floating off. Finn didn't really get the joke and shrugged before stepping inside and looking around at the candy hall. Standing near a table was a banana guard eating a cookie so Finn decided to ask were the Princess was. The guard led him down a lot of stairs before coming to a steel door and walking off. Finn knocked hard on it and got no response. So he pushed a button on the side and opened the door. The room smelled like brown mist as he stepped inside the dark room. "Princess?" he called out with no response but the sound of someone shuffling around. He steeped forward finding a lamp and turning it on to see Princess bubblegum passed out on a lab table with a bunch of weird science things around her.
He blushed gently shaking her "Um Bonnie?" he whispered. She groaned before setting up, her hair a mess and glasses crooked as she yawned. "Huh? Who's there?" she groaned as she turned to see Finn. "Oh...its you. What are you doing here in my lab?" Finn looked away embarrassed "Well...its just I heard the news about...you being...you know, and thought maybe we could get to know each other better since well...were a family." She looked forward for a moment before sighing and getting up "Finn...that's sweet but I have much science stuff and research to do." "But bonnie it reeks in here, it's not healthy for the baby." She paused what she was doing thinking for a moment before sighing "I suppose your right..somewere with a bit fresher air would probably be better." She gathered her stuff up and started to walk out the lab, Finn following behind. As they walked down a candy hall the kingdom could be seen out the windows. "So do you plan on following me all day?" Finn blushed rubbing his head. "Well..I just...wanted to spend time with you.." "I told you that's sweet but I'm far too busy." "Oh.." Finn looked away sadly seeing a small rock on the ledge. "Um..Princess?" She stopped and turned around "What is it?" Finn picked up the rock "If I can make this rock into that fountain" he pointed in the distance to a small fountain on the streets "Then you have to drop your research and spend the day with me." She put her hands on her hips smirking "And if you miss?" Finn smiled "Then I'll go home and leave you alone." She smiled "Ok your on then. Though I should tell you it is impossible." Finn took aim with the rock and with all his might threw the rock out the window. It soared through the air with incredible speed as the princess looked in awe. It went and went and went until they could both see a small splash in the fountain. "H..How did you? I mean that's? I.." the princess was speechless as Finn jumped up and down excited. "Yes! A deals a deal Bonnie. We get to spend the day together!" She sighed giving a defeated smile "Yes a deal is a deal..let me just take this stuff to the lab and put it away..."
After putting her equipment away she came out of her lab and headed to her room to change. finn waited happily outside for her untill she came out in her usual pink dress. "You look beautiful Bonnie" Finn blushed looking away. "its just my usual dress its nothing special. come on let's go" Finn smiled walking beside her down the steps of her castle. They made their way to the streets of the kingdom as citizens looked at them in confusion. Finn was happily looking around at the sights and sounds as he held her hand. Though she was with him her mind was elsewhere as she walked with him. "Hey do you want to grab something to eat?" "Huh?" she shook her head snapping back to reality. "Some food. You want to get some?" "Um..I'm not really that hungry.." Finn just smiled and led her to a small restaurant setting down at a small table outside. "you know I have always wanted to eat here." Finn said smiling looking around. Bubblegum rested her elbow on the table and her head in her hand as she looked away seeming bored. The waitress came and bowed to the princess before asking for their order. Finn ordered a big plate of spaghetti and a soda while Bubblegum simply asked for some tea. "Um so Bonnie what all are you researching?" She sighed rolling her eyes "Oh just some stuff with zanoids and plantoids." Finn nodded looking cutely confused as the waitress brought them their meals. Finn grinned diving into his meal as he downed mouthfuls of spaghetti while Bubblegum sipped her tea. "I bet as a princess you get to eat meals like this when you want" He smiled finishing off his plate of spaghetti. "Yeah..." Finn looked down sadly seeing she wasn't to thrilled as he was. "Hey wait here a moment princess" He smiled running off. After a few minuets he came back with a small bag setting it on the table and pushing it to her. She looked at the bag and up to him as his eyes sparkled in anticipation. She pulled the wrapping out of the bag and pulled out a pink butterfly brooch. "Its a gift..for you so you can remember our date." He smiled big. She gave a soft smile putting it in the bag "Thanks." He smiled taking her hand "Well the days not over yet" He helped her up and walked with her down the streets stopping by store windows to see what they had.
As the day went on the sun began to set "Hey Princess you want to watch the sunset?" I know a great place to do it." She sighed "Finn I really should be getting back to my work.." Finn looked away sadly "Your always so wrapped in your work. Even when I was your butler.." "Well when your older like I am responsiblity will demand sacrifice. You wouldn't understand." Finn clenched his hand softly, hurt by her words. "You wrong princess.." "She turned to look at Finn curiously seeing tears begin to form in his eyes. "Your wrong Princess. You don't think I know about having responsibility? I have had to take care of myself since I was young. I have had to take on the hard task of being your servant. And now I'm the father of not one but three kids now. I know good and well about being responsible. I've made mistakes but I don't let my responsibility stop me from being any less loving and happy of a person. Not like you Princess, when I see you always look sad. You say you would rather do your science junk but your lying. You always have that sad look on your face, that look of someone who is lonely and hurting.." Finn wiped the tears from his eyes as Bonnie stood there shocked by his sudden outburst. "Your not alone Princess, whether you want to or like It I will be here because even if you don't believe it I love you, Just like I love Marceline and Flame. And I want to protect you and make sure your smiling even when things are going wrong. But if me going away so you can go back to your dark smelly lab will really make you happy then fine." He tried his best to fight back tears as he looked up and bowed to her. "Sorry to have waisted your time Princess." Opened her mouth to speak but before she could Finn turned and began to run away tears dripping from his face. He left her their stunned by his words, he was right about everything. She didn't want to admit it but he was right. The whole day he had only wanted to spend time knowing and being with her and all she cared about was going back too her lab. She looked down at the small bag in her hands and pulled out the brooch he had gotten her. It was beautiful and shined brightly in the setting sun. She didn't realize it but their were tears falling down her cheek and onto the brooch. She touched her eyes looking at the tears on her fingers as she wiped her eyes. She put the brooch into her bag and ran off after him.
Finn sat on the edge of the candy balcony, his face red with tears as he looked at the sunset. He didn't understand what he was doing wrong for her to not like her but figured if leaving her alone would really make her happy then it was for the best. As he sat and watched the sun slowly go down a soft voice rang in his ears "Beautiful isn't it?" Finn turned to see Bubblegum smiling softly. She was wearing what seemed like pajamas and had the pink brooch on it. "Princess?" She smiled and sat beside him "I figured you would be here. This is my favorite spot to watch the sun set as well." Finn tried his best to clean himself up a bit not wanting her to see his face. "Princess I.." She smiled and pressed her finger to his lip "Its ok Finn..I deserved what you said earlier. I'm sorry Finn, that I have been such a butt to you. Your right though I am not happy." She looked forward at the sunset as a tear went down her cheek. He reached over and wiped the tear from her eye causing her to blush. "Don't cry Princess...it dosent suite your beauty." She blushed taking his hand and pressing it to her cheek "Finn you don't have to care so much about me, yet you do." Finn smiled blushing "Well your very sweet and kind Bonnie." She smiled "Oh Finn...Im sorry." He shook his head "Don't be, I was never mad at you." They both sat and looked at the sun as the last bit of it went over the horizon. "Well...I guess I should head to the Inn." She looked over confused "What do you mean?" "Well I need to get a place to sleep for the night." She smiled softly taking his hand. "Don't be silly, your sleeping with me tonight. After all, we are a family." Finn blushed deeply as she stood up taking his hand and leading him to her chambers.
