She leans against the railing, listening to the melodic voice of her love from below. She wonders if she'll ever get tired of hearing this song, God knows she'd heard it a hundred times or more already, whether it was the original or the voice she'd fallen in love with singing it.
"She know you're up here being a creeper?" a voice asks with amusement.
"I'm not being a creeper," the blonde replies defensively, "and yes, Rach knows I'm up here. If I'm up here I can't distract her as much."
"It's creepy, Q," the Latina continues, "or have you forgotten that this is where we stood and watched New Directions for the first time?" She was thankful that the music was loud enough to cover their conversation so as not to distract her friend who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying her practice.
"I haven't forgotten." It was true, she hadn't forgotten, it was something she'd often wondered about. Had she watched on with such anger because of Finn defecting to join the Glee club, or had her anger been jealousy that the quarterback was getting to spend time with the once obnoxious star of the group? Even now she was unsure of the answer, her attraction to Rachel had been something she had tried to ignore for such a long time, something she kept buried, that she had no idea when it had started.
The pair of friends watched on in silence for a few moments, both of them relishing the way that Rachel seemed to be singing and meaning it more and more, another piece of the old Rachel Berry being reclaimed and remoulded to fit into the young woman she was becoming.
Quinn watched on with love and adoration, their time in New York had further solidified that she was indeed, deeply in love with the girl and wanted nothing more than to live out the things they had dreamt of together sat in Central Park. "I'm going to marry that girl," she uttered out loud, not really meaning to, a thought that tripped over her tongue.
Santana looked at her friend out of the corner of her eye, a smirk playing over her lips, "New York was good then?"
"New York was amazing," Quinn smiled.
"It must've been if that's what comes out of your mouth," Santana chuckled, "she must be incredible in bed."
Quinn slapped her best friends arm, a slight pink hue tinging her cheeks.
"You're serious, aren't you?" she asked, already knowing the answer.
"About?" she wanted to check that they hadn't switched topics without her knowledge, something Santana was always doing to her.
"Marrying Berry."
"I really wish you'd stop calling her that," Quinn sighed.
Santana shrugged nonchalantly. "Well?"
"I've never been more serious about anything," she answered earnestly, "except for the girls."
"Damn, Q," Santana shook her head, "you got it bad."
Quinn turned to look at the Latina Cheerio, "I'm in love with her, San."
"In?" she asked, her eyebrows rising up at the word. "You're so screwed."
"I know," an amused sigh left her body, "but I wouldn't have it any other way."
"So very screwed," Santana chuckled.
Author's note: hey guys, I know this was short but it hit me all of a sudden so I had to get it done. I'm working towards the next chapter hopefully being longer but if I have to write short chapters for a while so you get updates it's better than months and months of nothing. I'm currently writing out the plot for the rest of the story after losing it when I got that virus on my iMac but I can't remember everything. I do remember two big-ish things though so you have those to look forward to, one of them is the next chapter. R&R let me know what you think about short chapters. I hope you liked this one, it was fun to write which is refreshing. Anyways, I'm gonna shut up now. Bye!
