I don't really know what to say besides here's the next chapter.

I vaguely saw this fight and general idea from a dream that I had. I thought that it was really cool and I decided that I was gonna do that, especially since I had major block after the last couple of chapters.

I don't know how many of you are still reading this story but I hope that you enjoy!

On with the story...

Chapter 15: The Envoy

"Titans, attack!"

Raven stretched out her arm as she tried to stop her impulsive teammates from attacking the unknown assailant. Something told her that they would not be able to stop this being. Something told her that not even she could fight off this foe. Something was telling her that this being was just as strong as her. It would and could kill them if it wanted to. In fact, she could slowly feel her powers growing weaker in its presence. Although she secretly admitted to being afraid of it, it had nothing to do with fear. It was though the mysterious being was draining her power. The demoness wondered if it was the same for the other Titans. However, before she could even call out to them, they attacked.

"Wait! Don't!"

It merely laughed as the fearsome five darted towards it. Robin was the first to engage it in combat. He sent punch after punch, only for them to be futile. It was dodging all his hits and snaked out of the harm's way. Robin sent a kick at its head but it ducked out of the way and hit him with an uppercut. He was sent flying in the air but was quickly caught by Starfire.

Cyborg fought it next. The metallic man sent shots from his sonic cannon. It anticipated the attacks and jumped agilely of the way. Cyborg tried shooting more but it was closing in on the robotic man with demonic speed. It stood for a few seconds in front of him. It was roughly half a head shorter than he was; its face was still unclear. The hood of the black cloak covered half of its face. The silvery strands of hair that escaped from the cloak contrasted against the black cloak that melted into the asphalt. It just smiled at the cybernetic Titan. Before he knew it, its foot made contact with the side of his head.

"Ugh!"

He stumbled a few steps, clutching his head as he tried to readjust to his surroundings. Cyborg looked around, seeing it about a few meters away. When he blinked, it was gone! All the Titans checked their surroundings to aid their metal comrade. It seemed to have disappeared from the area.

Beast Boy shot his eyes back at the tin man.

"Cyborg! Behind you!"

Cyborg's eyes shot behind him as he turned his body. It let out another laugh as it took him by the throat.

"Ahaha! Is this really the team that you trust with your life? They're pathetic!"

The captured Titan tried to wrench free of the attacker but to no avail. It had a deathly grip and inhuman strength that even the metal man could not match. A simple flick of his wrist could easily snap Cyborg's neck, or just a little tighter and the cloaked being could strangle the life out of the metal man. Cyborg began feeling light-headed and was starting to black out. It grabbed his arm before spinning him around and throwing him into a 5-story building where the big man crashed through all the floors and lay unconscious.

"Cyborg!"

Filled with righteous fury, Starfire flew down and put the Titan leader down before zooming towards the cloaked figure. It took a small side-step and the Tamaranean princess U-turned and landed a good blow to its jaw. She dismounted on the ground and assumed a battle position with her starbolts were glowing a lime-green. It rubbed it's jaw and craned it's neck before smiling again. That last blow would have snapped a normal human's neck but this thing just shrugged it off as if was nothing.

Starfire zipped into the air, pelting starbolt after starbolt at the unwelcome guest only for it to dodge every one.

"Hyaah!" The warrior princess fired several starbolts at the being.

It raised its hand from beneath the blackness of the cloak, an invisible force field appearing between him and the blasts.

"?!"

Starfire, Beast Boy, Terra and Robin all glanced at Raven. Its manner of fighting was just like hers.

"You're all in my way. I'm not here for you."

"Then what the hell are you here for?"

It laughed as it pointed to the violet-haired enchantress. "I'm here for her!"

"?"

"Daughter of Trigon!"

Raven snapped out of her initial shock. "How do you know of me?!"

It smiled. "I always heard you were a difficult child!"

Raven fired a black beam at the being. Yet it felt so strange, it almost felt like it was absorbing her attack. It laughed before Terra sent several dozen boulders darting towards it. A simple wave of its hand stopped all the flying projectiles and sent them back at the earth adept. She dove out of the way as she watched Robin exchange blows again with the man and flew down to the daughter of Trigon.

"You know what that thing is, don't you?!" the blonde raising an accusing finger.

"No, I don't! And if you haven't noticed, this is hardly the time to be discussing this, you fool!" Raven spat.

"Tch!" Terra scoffed as she lifted a clot of earth from the ground and rode on it towards the mysterious being.

'This being…who…what is he?!'

Raven saw the building where her metallic friend had crashed and saw him joining up with the other Titans.

Robin was still engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the man. It parried away all of the hero's hits. Instead, the partner of Batman was on the receiving end of the blows. It Fan-kicked him in the head, while Robin was still reeling from the blow, it used the remaining momentum to sweep him off his feet. Robin landed on the ground with a THUMP! He looked up to see the figure sending him a powerful heel drop, but he rolled out of the way. The Boy Wonder saw a small crater where his head had just been two seconds earlier. It began stomping on where he was but he kept rolling out of the way. It would've been and was actually quite funny for a few seconds to watch (if the being wasn't trying to kill the boy). It was obviously getting frustrated. The being raised its fist and slammed it into the ground, creating a shockwave. The shockwave sent boulders and all sorts of debris flying. The shockwave would disorient while the debris would shred and boulders smash you to bits. Sure enough, that was going to happen to the hero. That was until Terra used her powers to temporarily halt the boulders and create a small shield around her teammate and slid him towards the other Titans.

Cyborg and Starfire nodded and charged at the being together. She threw her starbolts while Cyborg fired from his sonic cannon. It merely scoffed at their pathetic attacks as it swatted away at the two attacks. The swatted attacks flew into multiple directions, destroying more buildings, cars, signs, street lights and traffic lights. It sauntered to the heroes, the black cloak fluttering in the wind and the silvery threads catching the wind.

Starfire hurled a large starbolt at the man with Cyborg firing a sonic blast to help it gain momentum. The blast from the sonic cannon quickly merged with the starbolt, the starbolt electrified with energy from the sonic blast. The blue and green blast shot towards the man with incredible speed. A thunderous boom echoed across the block as a gust of wind sent dust and debris flying. After a few moments of silence, the Titans lowered their arms; the dust cloud of where the man had been was making visibility hard. Cyborg and Starfire smiled confidently as they thought the enemy had been defeated.

"Booyah!"

"Friends, we are victorious!"

Raven looked on as the five Titans sighed with relief. If she had learned anything in the last five years, it was never to underestimate your opponent and never assume you have won. Her amethyst eyes shot to the dust cloud, her eyes widened. She knew she was right and a gasp escaped her lips.

The other Titans looked back where the man was standing. The dust cloud began to clear. They all lost their breath when they saw a figure standing in the cloud. After the cloud had dissipated, there he stood, completely unscathed. He dusted off his shoulders and smiled.

"How…?"

"What…?"

"Was that the best you've got?"

The five Titans, minus Raven, took a small step back. A combined attack from Starfire and Cyborg couldn't take it down. Of course, it came as a shock when they found it completely unfazed.

"I think it was!" it smiled. "Too bad."

"Titans, together!"

A second after Robin commanded his teammates, all five Titans regrouped at the leader's side, forming a tight line of defense. They all assumed it was hard to break. But not even a second after they had formed their line, the figure had slammed its fist into the Boy Wonder's stomach. They were all so shocked; it had gotten past all of them so easily and quietly that it would've made Slade jealous. Robin lurched forward, gasping for air before it withdrew its fist and kicked him into the roof of a nearby car. It bent under his weight and he coughed out a copious before passing out.

"Robin!" Starfire shrieked.

"Starfire! Don't!"

Her eyes burned green with fury as she hurled starbolt after starbolt. It leapt to the right out of the defensive line, zooming out of the shots. Every now and then, Starfire paused to scan where the being was. She found it and shot more starbolts at the attacker. A laugh escaped its lips as if this was part of some sick game. It locked eyes on a confused bystander and a horrendous idea popped up in its head. Starfire continued furiously pelting at the monster, having only tunnel vision so she didn't see the bystander.

"Starfire, don't! There's a person!"

The alien warrior didn't register what her teammates were saying and paid attention only to the cloaked man. Until he found the bystander, took him by the neck and held both of the bystanders' hands behind his back. He laughed as the bystander squirmed. Starfire felt her blood boil. The being was reveling in the fury of the Titans as he stood behind his meat shield.

The Titans glowered at their foe as he moved around, holding his helpless victim.

"What do you want?!"

It smiled. "Just to exchange a few words with Trigon's Daughter."

All four eyes shot to the enchantress but Raven ignored their looks. She did not know who this man was or what he wanted. But she was not going to allow him to come into the city, wreck it, attack the Titans and trust him. She had no obligation to do so. Her amethyst eyes held such an anger that would've made her father jealous.

"No thanks. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of, and stay there."

The cloaked figure frowned and Raven could feel his glare through the hood. Half of her was furious, the other half was terrified. She felt as though she had just done something she should not have and would deeply regret it.

"Have it your way. But…" it smiled.

The Titans felt a rush of air emanated from the cloaked monster and covered their heads and faces. After the rush of air began to die down, a strange feeling began to overcome them, even Raven. The anger that she just had was suddenly beat out by the terror. The sorceress quickly looked at her teammates; she could see a look of terror starting to grow.

"I insist!" It yelled with murderous joy as it flung the helpless victim at a break-neck speed at a radio tower 100 meters (328 feet) away.

"Starfire! GO!" Raven ordered. Only half a second later the orange alien zoomed through the air, trying to catch up the human paintball.

Raven's eyes grew wide as the victim darted through the air. In that moment, it was as though she had a vision: one that almost made her vomit. Raven clutched her head and snapped her eyes shut. It was as clear as day and felt as real as her hand. Her clairvoyance could be seen as a gift but to her, it was more like a curse. No…she had seen this before somewhere, she had seen how this would end and play out.

At the rate he was flying, he would be splattered all over the radio tower. His body would be nothing but a bloody splatter on the tower and his parts would rain down on the ground below. He screamed as flew through the air. Even if Terra's earth could create a cushion, it would be too late; the area was too far and she wouldn't be able to get there fast enough. Neither would Beast Boy. Starfire was still a good 25 feet from catching the victim and the victim wasn't slowing down. She wouldn't give up; no, she sped forward, absolutely determined to save the screaming and helpless victim. The Tamaranean finally caught up within a hair of the victim, pulling him into a protective hug as the two crashed into the radio tower.

"STARFIRE!"

End Chapter.
