This is a resubmission. I'd like to repeat: I had to split up this chapter into 2 because it would be really long.

I actually pictured Terra to be more angry in this and just walk off. But I thought about it and it just wouldn't make good character development. All in all, I'm actually really happy how this progressed.

Chapter 18: Terra vs. Raven (cont.)

"Great job!"

"Beast Boy! Starfire! Let's go!"

Wordlessly, the two flying heroes nodded as they carried their friends towards the two fighting Titans.

People ran and screamed as the two heroines battled with such ferocity. Terra had somehow managed to stall Raven long enough to the city with nothing but that dirt clot. That of course, infuriated the already enraged woman. But being back on solid ground, Terra felt she had an advantage against the empath now.

Terra lifted a large piece of earth and chucked it at Raven. The empath cloaked herself in magic and phased through the attack and dive-bombed at the blonde. She sent a black energy blast at Terra, who let out a gasp before instinctively covering herself in rocks. Terra survived the attack and when the dust cleared, Raven punched Terra in the face which shattered some of the rock armor. Terra staggered back and balled her hands, which caused the ground above Raven to jump up and encase her arms and legs.

The Azarathian growled and struggled against the restraints, her eyes glowing the brilliant color of lava. Terra smirked, certain she had won. Raven growled as she ripped herself from the restraints and charged at the blonde. Terra barely had any reaction time as Raven grabbed her throat, a malevolent grin crossing her face. Terra struggled to get out of her death-grip as Raven began strangling her. Her vision was growing dark as she clawed at the demon's arm weakly. Her strength was failing. Before the enraged mage could take her out, Terra weakly managed to strike Raven in the head with a football-sized rock. The empath staggered back, her head bleeding. Terra backed off and gulped in lungfuls of air while Raven clutched the wound on her head. The empath noticed the blood on her palm and another furious growl escaped her lips.

Terra tried to flee by lifting another piece of earth and flying hundreds of feet into the air, in an attempt to minimize damage to the city. Raven teleported to her faster than the blink of an eye and kicked Terra off her earthen platform. She crashed through a window, her body wracked with pain as glass dug into her skin. But she had to keep going; Raven was a monster and she wouldn't stop at killing her, she'd destroy the city and possibly the Titans next. She looked around, noticing she was in a civilian's apartment. She only had a moment before Raven would continue her assault again and ran out of the door.

The demoness descended to the shambled apartment, broken glass crunching under feet. She looked at the bloody stains where Terra had landed, her eyes following the blood trail. If there was anything the rage-filled demon hated, it was a pursuit.

'Oh well. It'll be worth it when that bitch is dead.'

She took a step forward, her hand gripped her chest. Rage could feel Raven fighting for control of her body. No, the emoticlone would not hand over control until everything that enraged her was destroyed. Even worse, her body was beginning to ache but it was not from the battle. Could it have been because her body was not yet ready for combat? She was a half-demon, daughter of a creature who ruled multiple worlds for god's sake. Trivial matters like that should not bother her. The emotion possessing Raven's body made a quick guess. Perhaps it was from the scar?

Raven flicked her head and suppressed the pain. When the pain could no longer be ignored, Rage would relinquish control to Raven so she could deal with it. The unbridled emotion continued her search-and-destroy mission, following the blood trail to an alley.

"Come on out! I've been dying to kill you for years!"

"Guess you'll just have to wait a little longer."

"!"

The demoness spotted her on the roof of building. Terra strapped her goggles on before as the demon stepped into her trap. The ground caved in beneath Raven and she fell, cursing the blonde. As the violent sorceress fell, Terra covered her Raven's limbs in rocks again and watch her fall.

The Titans managed to touch down on a street. They saw crowds of people fleeing for their lives. Beast Boy managed to get hold of a someone. He was in a panic, nearly incoherent..

"Two Titans! Fighting! A...a blonde girl evacuated the people from the buildings and from the area so they-they wouldn't get hurt!"

"Thank you" Beast Boy said as he quickly let go. "Get outta here! Find somewhere safe!"

A cacophony of sirens, rushing water, car alarms filled the air and fires stretched to the sky. Jump City was in another crisis. Who would have thought so many disasters could hit a city like this? The Titans' felt a moment of uselessness as the people rushed passed them.

Unfortunately, they didn't know which direction to head to when they heard the implosion and saw several of the buildings crumble. Smoke, ash and dust stretched towards the sky. Their faces twisted with shock and surprise.

"What the hell was that?"

"Crap! We need to hurry! Let's go!"

Terra was floating on a boulder watching as the buildings around her crumbled. Dust and smoke made it almost hard to see. Confident that the trap had worked, the blonde let out a sigh of relief. She tried her best not to breath in the ash-filled air.

All her confidence and relief dissipated when she heard a snarl. Her sky blue eyes scanned around until she saw the dust part. Raven slowly ascended, her long dark hair and black cloak billowing in different directions.

Blood dripped from her arms where her restraints had been. The half-demon was in a fury. Within a second, Raven rushed at the Titan. Terra dove out of the way and sped into the dust cloud, hoping to get the upper-hand with the low visibility. Raven pursued and quickly lost track of her. She let out another angry growl as she searched high and low for her target.
Terra touched down on the ground, clutched her side and ran deeper into the dust cloud. The geomancer ignored the pain before she about-faced. Then a violent tremor rocked the street and Terra created at least a dozen golems, ready for whatever the empath had in store.

These minions were simple, basic creatures. They were brown, 7-8 feet tall with small heads, broad shoulders, large arms and legs made of stone. Not all too impressive but the best the exhausted girl could do at the moment.
She fell to one knee as pain and exhaustion wracked her body. If her injuries from the previous fight had more time to heal, Terra would be able to fight longer and harder. But she also remembered that Raven had just gotten out of a coma, so she was not in top fighting condition either. As if it wasn't bad enough that Terra was fighting alone, none of the other Titans were coming for back-up. Forfeiting the search, Raven lifted all the dust and smoke around the area and disposed the debris carelessly into the sea.

Terra stood on the ground, shocked at how much power and energy her adversary still had, despite her condition.

She grinned. "There you are!"

The half-demon dismounted on the ground, unimpressed by Terra's pathetic puppets but amused.

"So...you wanna play it that way? All right then!"

Raven lifted her arms above her head. Terra made a fighting stance as she fought through all the pain and exhaustion while adrenaline pumped through her veins. Just then, she felt the earth beneath her quake which caused her to lose her balance. She looked completely confused as she watched the ground crack and split. Terra didn't do that and she got the feeling that whatever came out of the ground was not something she was going to like.

Raven let out a laugh as the ground quaked. Fire escaped the cracks in the ground as something made screeches and ghastly noises. Red flames spewed from the earth, wisping towards the mage's side. The red flames assimilated into hovering creatures of flame with long tentacle-like arms and twisted skulls. Terra had never seen anything like them before and she felt a sinister aura emanating from them. Worse yet, while Terra could only manage a dozen at most, Raven blew her numbers out of the water and summoned at least a hundred.

"Bring her to me, alive."

With demonic screeches, the fire demons rushed at the young heroine. It was all out war between Terra's golems and Raven's fire demons. Had the city not been laid to waste and a danger-zone, it would have been quite a sight. Terra's golems swung at the beasts. The demons phased through their attacks and their intense heat charred and cracked the golems.

While the golems had the upper-hand from their composition, the vast numbers of the fire demons was overwhelming. When one golem destroyed a fire demon, its' body seemed to evaporate but it seemed like two would replace the one.

The Rage-possessed Raven conceitedly stood back watching the display. It was only a matter of time before all of Terra's golems would be destroyed and she knew that Terra was exhausted. Terra struggled to her feet, her legs felt so languid. She looked around; her golems were losing and the fire demons were closing in. Raven marched forward and disregarded the battle between her army and Terra's squad. Sensing her doom, Terra poured all of her energy into her fist and slammed it into the ground. The resulting shock evaporated most of the fire demons, as well as her golems. The quake destroyed even more buildings and left a house-sized crater.

The demoness was unfazed as she continued to march forward. Her crimson eyes filled with contempt and resent. Terra gasped for air as she fell to her knees and terror gripped at her. She couldn't move, whether it was from the exhaustion, pain, fear, or all of them, Terra did not know.

Raven was now standing three feet in front her. Her black cloak melting into the dark ground with her dark hair billowing in the wind. Her hellfire eyes stared down at the powerless maiden. The demoness lifted her arm, a crimson light glowing. Terra was petrified; she was now staring death in the face, the angel of death ready to deliver her to the afterlife.

Part of her wanted to plead and cry, but she did not want to give the demoness the satisfaction. Another part of her screaming where were the other Titans?

Terra looked at the monster in front of her, with wide eyes. An image flashed into Raven's mind and her eyes widened. She gripped her head, and her eyes snapped shut. The geokinetic watched confused. Raven seemed to be struggling against herself and when her eyes re-opened, one was crimson while the other was amethyst.

"Get back! Just lemme finish her off!" the demoness seemingly shouted at no one.

'This is my body! I'm not going to let you kill her!'

"You've killed before! What's one more worthless life?!"

'I'm not that person anymore!'

"I'm not letting this traitorous bitch live!"

'Over my dead body!'

Raven clutched her head even tighter, her face scrunched in pain. The injuries on her arms leaked with blood that dripped onto the ground. Pain wracked her body and the fighting had taken its' toll which made the mage fall to her knees. Taking over Raven's body had exhausted the emoticlone and Rage was now relinquishing control. The demoness gasped for breath as the she and Rage struggled, but her emotion was losing.

"Terra!"

The blonde looked up to see her comrades hurrying over to her, finally. If it wasn't for the pain and the exhaustion, she would punch them all in the face for not arriving sooner. That didn't mean she could not lash out with words. Raven peered through half-closed eyes to see the squad of heroes.

"What the hell! Where the hell were all of you?!"

Starfire floated over to Terra and Beast Boy to Raven. The blue-eyed girl furious; how could he run to her side despite all this? Did he not see how pain she was in? She was hurt (physically and emotionally) and angry. The way he looked at her only confirmed her suspicions.

"Beast...Boy...?" Raven whimpered.

He gently pulled her hands away from her head and giving her concerned looks. The green man took notice of the blood dripping from her arms and began wiping them away with her cloak.

"Friend Terra, are you-?"

Terra pushed off the auburn-haired princess and limped over toward the two. Beast Boy helped Raven get to her feet when he seen the blonde slowly making her way to him.

The other Titans could only watch in silence.

"Terra, I-"

"Beast Boy. I'm sorry" she croaked, her voice full of pain. "I can't do it anymore. I seen the way you look at Raven just now, and I don't think you could ever look at me that way."

"Terra, what's-?"

The geokinetic just held up her hand. "Please, just listen. The two of you...you need each other."

The blonde gave her teammates melancholic look. "I gave this a lot of thought, and I'm going to join Titan's East."

All her comrades opened their mouths to protest, but she wasn't having it. Her mind was made up. After dropping the bombshell like that, the blonde lifted a large boulder from the ground, hopped on and floated back to Titans Tower.

End.

So what do you think? Lemme know! :)
