Hey all, so if I decided to change the cover of this story, what scene should it be based off of? I might be getting an original work from a super talented artist. So yeah, let me know what you think would look cool.

He walked into the room with his hands shoved in his pockets. It wasn't out of comfort, but an effort to keep how tense he was hidden. Arya hadn't been allowed to join him which had pissed her off immensely. She was most likely in the observation room with Ajihad giving him a piece of her mind. He hadn't been told anything about who was interrogating him or what they'd be asking, but he was relatively positive that he'd hate it. The chair he was slumped in was uncomfortable, making relaxing impossible. After five minutes had passed he began drumming his fingers on the wooden table. Why the hell were they making him wait? It wasn't like making him stew would help any.

Finally the door opened behind him. He looked to complain, only to stop mid-word. The young girl, Elva, was strutting past him, her face revealing the emotions of a rock. He couldn't help the scoff that escaped. She raised a brow as she sat, giving him a small smirk.

"Is something the matter?"

Shifting his shoulders somewhat he nodded.

"You're a kid." He glanced at the one-way mirror. "Obviously this is for show more than an actual interview. This is not a good way to build solid proof of my innocence."

Elva chuckled.

"Please turn around, Eragon. We have a lot to discuss."

Something in her voice was chilling and he took a closer look at her features, sitting up straighter in his cramped chair. She held a file lightly in her hand and her unique eyes were serious. Nothing about her expression gave away anything. He thought back to the night before, hearing that she'd been involved in Murtagh's rehabilitation and questioning. Suddenly this situation seemed much less friendly. Elva spread the papers and looked at him.

"Let's begin." The door opened once more and he was surprised to find Angela carrying in the polygraph. She smirked at him before attaching it to him and leaving with wave. He glanced in annoyance at the machine, thinking it stupid to try it. He could obviously beat it. "What is your name?"

He sighed.

"Eragon Shay."

"Age?"

"25."

"Your birthday?

"February 20."

She nodded, jotting something down.

"These injuries, are they from a car accident?"

He almost frowned, wondering why on earth she was asking about it.

"Yes."

He glanced at the polygraph, noting no difference, but when he caught Elva's eyes again he found her smirking.

"At what age were you abandoned?"

He froze. The emotions and anger from his past assaulted him and he knew he was about to go through an emotional roller coaster that would leave him depleted.

-A-R-Y-A-

She wanted to stop it. It had been over forty minutes of personal questions that she knew were effecting him. He was strong, and there was no betrayal of his pain on his face, but she knew what these questions were doing to him. Her nails were digging into her palms, past the point of pain, and her jaw was clenched in anger. She glanced over as the door opened to find Saphira walk in with a somber expression. Ajihad was standing beside his daughter, his arms crossed, and to his credit, there was sympathy in his eyes. Elva continued with the questions.

"And Garrow, do you know if he had any relation to Morzan?"

She wanted to smack her. But she knew Elva was only doing her job. And she was good at it. The girl had come and watched him before going in, memorizing how he looked when nobody else was there, studying his reactions and facial expressions. It was truly impressive. Eragon responded before finally groaning and leaning back in his seat.

"How much longer will I be in here? Seriously, I don't know what the hell I have to do to prove my innocence but I will. Either let me out or lock me up because I'm done." With that he stood brusquely and strode toward the door. As he pulled on the handle and found it locked, he whipped back to face the mirror. "Are you kidding me?"

Arya took a deep breath, feeling a slight squeeze on her arm from Saphira as she watched him return to the chair and throw himself back into it. Now the fury, the hurt, it was all visible and she felt like any more of this and he'd need to break something. His history, the mistakes, the losses, was all being drudged up and tossed about him.

"Eragon, did you know that Murtagh was you brother when you brought him in?"

He growled.

"No! I didn't."

It was then Arya caught what Elva had been doing. She'd gotten him past his limit before she began asking the important questions. The ones that would lead to what would happen next.

"Did you recognize him?"

Eragon clenched his hands at his sides.

"I didn't."

"Are you working against us in any way?"

"NO!"

Elva gave a small smile.

"Good. Ajihad he's clear. I'm sorry to have brought so much to the surface."

Seemingly surprised, Eragon was still for a moment before shoving his chair back and storming out of the room. Arya looked to Angela.

"Seriously? How does she know?"

The mysterious woman chuckled.

"She's a strange character. Her talents are beyond my understandings. But she's never been wrong so I think we're alright."

With a single nod, Arya motioned for Saphira to follow her from the room. Once outside they found Eragon speed-walking towards the stairs. Saphira called for him but he didn't turn around.

"Saphira, let me deal with him. Can you block the cameras in training room six?"

The blonde looked once more after the retreating agent before nodding.

"Consider it done."

Arya followed silently behind Eragon, not making any effort to catch up or get him to stop. She knew that he knew she was there, and he would stop when he was ready. It took five or so minutes of him wandering aimlessly before he was lost in the corridors of the Varden. She approached his still form, watching as he breathed in and out deeply. He spoke before she reached him.

"I'm not in the mood to talk."

Not even bothering to respond, she passed him by. As she'd expected, he understood and trailed her silently to the training area. He kept his eyes forward and didn't wave to anyone who was trying to catch his attention, in an effort to avoid snapping at them. Once inside the room she locked the door behind her.

"Get it out of your system."

He glanced at her, his shoulders still tensed and his fist clenching and unclenching.

"You don't have to coddle me."

She crossed her arms.

"I'm not. I'm helping. Go."

He sighed, walking over to a punching bag set up in the right corner of the room. He began slowly, swinging his fist into the bag with little effort. But after several strikes, his pace picked up and and drove hit after hit ruthlessly into the material, sweat streaming down his skin. She watched in silence, leaning tiredly against the wall. It'd been a rough couple of days and neither of them had enough sleep. She wished they had a chance to go out for a few days. Ten minutes later she grabbed a rag and pushed away from her post.

"Come here, Eragon."

He paused just before striking to look back at her, his eyes narrowed.

"Why."

When she didn't answer he sighed and slowly made his way to stand before her. She took note that his body was relaxing and the anger, while still present, was fading after such a vigorous workout. She handed him a towel and waited while he rubbed it down his face and over his arms. He tossed it to the ground when he was finished and looked at her with guardedness. She simply sighed.

"Stop trying to act like you aren't upset."

He looked away.

"My life and background were just shoved in my face. Of course I'm upset. Doesn't take a fucking genius to figure that out."

She ignored the fact that he was taking it out on her and nodded.

"Of course. But it's just me now. We're here alone. Talk to me."

He took a shuddering breath and closed his eyes.

"I just. . . . I wish we were somewhere where I could touch you."

"The cameras are off Eragon."

Without a word he reached for her and enveloped her in his arms, his head buried in her neck. She held him tightly, knowing that he needed it, that he needed her at this moment.

"It's nice knowing I can actually do this now."

She smiled, her hand running through his slightly damp hair.

"You feel better?"

He nodded into her shoulder.

"I've been kind of a douche lately."

She raised an eyebrow although he couldn't see.

"Kind of?"

He held her tighter, leaning back to look in her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

Arya smiled and relaxed back against the wall. He followed, pressing into her and resting his forehead on her own. She smirked.

"You sure? I wouldn't want to forgive you if you're going to become an ass again."

He chuckled and moved forward, kissing her softly, his arms wrapping around her waist. After a couple seconds he released her and nestled his head into her neck

"I see why you say you wouldn't have chosen this life. It's rather brutal at times."

She nodded, playing with the hair on the back of his neck.

"It is that. But it got me to you so I'm appreciative."

She could hear his grin when he spoke.

"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me."

She shoved him back with a smirk, rolling her eyes.

"Shut up."

He pushed back into her.

"Never. Want to say it again?"

She laughed.

"Stop it."

Two Weeks Later

"You definitely lost your edge."

She was grinning at him, sweat pouring down both of their bodies, her arms in a choke around his neck. He twisted, trying to dislodge his hips from her legs that were wrapped around them. He finally tapped when he saw no way of escape without actually hurting her or her hurting him. That was a general rule when they sparred because they'd run into some issues with going too hard and actually wounding the other. She let him go and he rolled off of her.

"Whatever. That was a lucky pin."

She raised a brow.

"Yeah? You sure about that?"

He got back into stance.

"Of course I am."

Shaking her head, she followed, steadying her breath and waiting for his next move. He threw a left, pulling back and blocking as she countered with a jab. She continued quickly, putting him on defense for several seconds as she barraged him with blows. He waited for an opening before snaking his arm around her's as she struck, locking the arm in place and knocking her off balance. Taking advantage, he tried to bring her to the ground, but she spun, releasing her elbow and slamming her fist into his abdomen. He frowned at her as she danced around him, smugness written on her face.

"Eragon I thought you said you'd been taught by Oromis."

He growled.

"I'm just a bit rusty. I was out for a while."

She rolled her eyes.

"Excuses."

That was it. He was definitely bringing her down. Slowing his heart, he relaxed and watched her every move, waiting for the opportune moment. She swung out a roundhouse kick, driving it towards his thigh. He blocked, ducking under another strike and rolling to the side. She came at him again, trying to keep him off balance, but he'd been expecting this. As she crowded him, he slammed her backward and with a single swing he took out her legs. She fell and he followed, straddling her hips and pinning her hands above her head.

The wind had been knocked out of her but she struggled still, trying to roll him off, bridging to knock him off balance. Finally she tapped his wrist breathing heavily and fighting a smile. He released, standing and reaching a hand out to her. As she took it she chuckled.

"Impressive."

He gave a slight bow.

"Of course it was. I-"

A quiet pop and the tremor of the building caused him to paused. It was followed by several more, each growing louder and more explosive. He gripped her arm, eyes widening.

"Arya. . ."

Immediately she ran for the exit, dragging him with her.

"We're under attack."

-U-N-K-N-O-W-N-

Finally. After three weeks of sitting out here and watching screens of joggers and residents of the area, they were finally going in. The cruel man he'd come to know over the past days, Durza, had a ghostly smile on his face. It was as if he'd been waiting some time for this. Turning, he found his commander ordering his troops into position. They were on the move, closing in from ten miles out around the base of the Varden. He didn't know what they'd been waiting for, but apparently it'd happened. Durza chuckled, spinning a blade in his right hand.

"I told you they had returned."

The commander grunted.

"Aye. But we had to be sure. If we don't take them out in this attack, they'd only cause us troubles later. You should've told the boss about them when you first encountered them. He's grown suspicious of our constant failures."

Durza glared in annoyance.

"I could care less of his suspicions. I don't find it necessary to tell him everything as long as my mistakes are rectified."

Again the commander countered him.

"Yes, but those two agents would be dead by now if you had shared all knowledge on them to Galbatorix. Or at least Shruikan. They've screwed us over countless times and nobody but you and I are the wiser."

At this second insult, Durza lashed out, flinging the Commander to the ground and pressing his blade to his neck. Blood oozed out as the man's eyes looked on in silent terror. The red-haired man, insanity in his gaze, slowly sawed the blade, deepening the gash slightly every stroke. A pitiful whimper left his commander's lips and he stood, not sure what he was supposed to do. Durza's voice was cold and crazed when he spoke.

"Alas, I care nothing for your thoughts or opinions. They have grown quite annoying over the past several weeks. I think it's time for new blood for you've grown too comfortable in your position."

With that, the knife sliced through his carotid artery. Blood sprayed into Durza face but instead of the disgust he expected, a leer formed. And suddenly he was the focus of the mad man's gaze.

"Congratulations Private, you've been promoted." The kid couldn't speak, only opening and closing his mouth in shock. "Are you not happy with the new developments? You could always join your boss in hell. I'm sure he'd like the company."

The newly ranked General shook his head.

"No, of course I'm happy. Thank you."

Durza chuckled, slapping his shoulder.

"Good. Now get moving. We begin our assault within the hour. The countdown has already begun. As soon as we've hijacked all communication and any police department within one hundred miles we'll begin our attack."

-E-R-A-G-O-N-

They sprinted along with over a hundred other agents towards the armory, the building shaking about them and causing some to stumble. As they passed each hall, more joined them, faces grim and focused on the task at hand. As they reached the location they found Ajihad and Nasuada already there, weapons in hand, giving orders. They approached them and Arya immediately made inquiries.

"What the hell is happening? How did they find us?"

Nasuada turned her attention from a group of agents to them.

"Not a bloody clue. Grab your gear and head towards the east side of the building. They're attacking all three possible entrances. They haven't breached yet but it is only a matter of time."

His frowned deepened.

"Where are Saphira and Firnen?"

Ajihad joined their conversation then.

"They are in control of all the remote weapons. Angela and Elva are with them as well. Over thirty agents are protecting that location alone. Now go. We don't have much time."

He nodded, strapping himself with a vest before yanking a pack filled with ammo from the wall and slinging an M590 shotgun over his head. He holstered two Beretta M9's around his waist and looked to find Arya similarly decked out. But instead of a shotgun she'd grabbed an M16A4 Assault Rifle. They took off towards the East side of the building, a group of twenty agents following them. Ajihad had put them under Arya's command. The only sound as they sprinted towards their destination was the loud explosions and their own footsteps. Nobody was breathing hard as they were all in pristine shape. As they approached they found over forty agents already at the entrance, all behind cover. Sections of the wall, designed to be dropped down, had become barriers. Orik, who was decked out with two AR15's strapped to him and a BM4 shotgun in his hands, waved them over. They crouched beside him.

"I'm glad you're here Drottingu. I need to go to my agents at the North entrance."

She nodded, her face completely serious and empty of emotion.

"Go."

Eragon gripped his shoulder.

"Stay safe, friend."

A short smirk formed on Orik's face.

"Of course, and you both as well."

With that the bulky agent took off from the direction they had come. He glanced at Arya and found her studying their position and layout. She was kneeling on one knee looking out over their defenses.

"Ryan, Leah. Take your people and pull back at least ten feet. They're going to come in hot, most likely with explosives. That close you'll be hit with the blast. The agents obliged immediately, taking her orders without question. Not that she left them room to. She still had not said a word to him since they left the training room. Her eyes were clouded with darkness as she continued to shift the agents around her into position. Finally, she was satisfied. He spotted an empty spot at the front and moved to take it when a hand on the strap of his pack wrenched him back.

"You stay with me."

He narrowed is eyes at her.

"Arya I can lend further help at the front."

Her coldness, seemingly carelessness for him, was beginning to annoy him. She glared at him.

"Eragon."

It was then that he saw it. The glint of something in her eyes. He moved to leave again and saw it grow, a panicked fear so powerful she was ignoring strategic placement. He stopped immediately, knowing if she'd tried to move forward without him he would've had the exact same reaction. But their people would get killed if not every advantage was utilized. He gripped her hand tightly, trying to reassure her that he would be ok, but she seemed unwilling to change her mind.

"Arya you know I must."

She took a shuddering breath, quiet so only he could hear.

"I know." But she still had a death grip on his backpack strap. He tried to pry her hand off but she only shoved him into the wall, pulling away and heading towards the spot herself. He swore, trying to catch her, but she was already gone. Responsibility and common sense were the only things that kept him from going after her. An agent beside them who'd seen the entire exchange gave him a sympathetic look before refocusing his attention to the doors. Eragon took a deep breath and followed suit. The hallway they were in was tense as the sound of approaching enemies grew louder. The silence was interrupted by a blast of sound and gunfire as the walkie on Arya's hip blared.

"THEY'VE BREACHED THE WEST ENTRANCE!"

The sound shut off and he could feel the nervousness and fear in the agents around him. But he also saw their determination. Their families were here. They were way below on the lower floors, most likely protected by over a hundred agents armed to the teeth. An explosion went off before them sending rubble and debris flying everywhere. The first sound of gunfire echoed in the chamber and the Varden responded in kind, weapons going off as waves of enemies poured inside the building. Slight dismay at their vast numbers filled him and he ducked behind his cover as a bullet ricocheted off of it.

He saw enemy bodies drop in front of him as Galbatorix's men ran in aimlessly and were gunned down. No agents of the Varden had been hit yet but with the mass amount they faced it wouldn't be long. One of the men broke through the ranks and Eragon reacted instinctively, raising his gun and firing. Several other bullets beside his own tore through the man and he dropped. Bodies piled up and the enemies began using them as cover from the Varden's barrage of bullets. The stench of blood filled his nostrils and he felt the adrenaline of battle kick in, searing his veins just as one of their own dropped to the ground.

He leapt over his cover, rolling to the downed soldier and dragging him closer to the wall. Checking his pulse he found he was already dead. Grabbing his weapon Eragon leaned up and fired the automatic weapon at a soldier who was trying to sneak through the dead bodies at a crawl. The dust from the explosion had settled and now there was a clear view of the pools of blood and piles of cloth and flesh. He saw Arya yell into the ear of another agent before the woman shot haphazardly over the wall, giving Arya cover fire as she rolled across the open space to the other side of the room.

She then yelled to the four of the agents there. They nodded and she made her way around behind to the second row of their people. He noted that the enemy was gaining and guessed she was giving the order to fall back one section. Sure enough, the second closest row of Varden agents reigned an entire round of cover fire as the first scrambled back with them. Immediately Galbatorix's soldiers hurried forward, taking cover on the walls that had just been vacated. He glanced at Arya and saw her nod.

Just after, the front barricades exploded, killing over fifteen of the enemy soldiers that had taken cover behind them. He grinned at her ingenuity before standing and firing at another soldier. Given the fact that they were obviously outnumbered, they were doing rather well. After twenty minutes of back and forth, with Arya pulling her agents back and reusing the same strategy, the enemy finally grew wise enough to stop advancing on the walls.

Arya and the retreating agents were now at level with him and she glanced over at him, nodding. By now the rest of the agents had accustomed themselves to what was happening and all she had to do was give the word and they retreated under the cover of their people. He and twenty others scrambled back and into the empty cover that lay behind. This time, the enemy soldiers remained behind their wall of bodies, watching. Still, the grenade Eragon had left by their wall was detonated at Arya's command. Arya's walkie burst to life again.

"Reinforcements to the West entrance! They've depleted our forces to twenty! Help requested immediately!"

Obviously not everyone was faring as well as them. Arya glanced at him once more, a knowing look in her eyes. She shook her head slightly but he shrugged. They needed help and she was doing fine here. Leaping over the wall behind him he tapped an agent on the shoulder, telling him to bring twenty five with them. He heard Arya swear violently before yelling for cover fire. It was given and Eragon took off, the agent's pounding feet behind him. That left Arya with around seventy five agents against hundreds. Still, he had no doubt that she would be smart and safe. They couldn't lose even a single entrance or the others would be crushed from behind.

He and the agents with him tore through the hallways, making their way to the other side of the building. Luckily most of them knew their way around because he still was not completely sure. They had just rounded a corner when two men in front of them caused him to halt. Immediately he raised his weapon. Before him was Murtagh, his supposed brother, and Thorn. Immediately the two raised their hands, the weapons in them pointed to the ceiling.

"Wait. Please." They didn't have time for this. "Brother."

At this Eragon froze, his focus faltering.

"How could you know that?"

Murtagh shook his head.

"I will tell you on the way. Saphire or whatever her name is sent me to the West. Apparently their losses are heavy."

Beside him the agents were growing restless. He glanced at one of them.

"Go, help West entrance. One of you stay." Eragon kept his weapon trained on Murtagh and Thorn as the others took off around them. "I cannot trust you and you know that."

Thorn growled in annoyance.

"This is not the time. We will fight with you but you must trust us. Otherwise we'll all get killed."

Eragon swore angrily.

"The moment we trust you we are dead men. I-"

He was cut off by the walkie in Thorn's hands.

"Eragon they speak the truth. Elva gives her word and Angela tends to agree. Bring them with you."

Eragon stalked forward and yanked the walkie out of his hand.

"Saphira what the hell have you done. These two were meant to be locked up."

A different voice, this one Nasuada's, broke through. So obviously their conversation was going to all of the Varden officers. Arya included.

"Eragon bring them. They will only further our force. I also swear that Elva is correct."

He clenched his jaw tightly before handing Thorn back the walkie. He had no choice and no time, and so with great effort, he lowered his weapon.

"Fine. Let's go." He grabbed the collar of his so-called brother. "But if I even see a hint of betrayal in your actions, I will not hesitate you put a bullet in your skull, brother or not."

The dark-haired man nodded solemnly before detaching himself and running after the retreating backs of Eragon's men. They arrived in the West entrance corridor minutes later, hearing the sound of gunfire. He glanced around the corner and saw the remaining Varden agents pressed tightly into cover and the enemy advancing steadily. Knowing it was now or never, he leaned around the corner and fired. Taken by surprise, Galbatorix's soldiers dropped behind cover as quickly as possible. But not fast enough that over twenty of their men were dropped by him and his. He ran forward, still firing at anyone who dared to show their faces, and they fell into position with the remaining officer. Murtagh was beside him, his face hard. This officer had pulled back several rows of cover, leaving the front ones to be overtaken by the enemy.

"Grenades out now. We can't have them using our environment against us. Take out all of the barricades."

He counted down, showing a fist when it was time. Their grenades flew over the walls, their landing echoing and the shouting of soldiers ringing in their ears. Explosions followed immediately after and Eragon watched with pleasure as the remaining cover in front of them was destroying, taking over fifty soldiers with them. The officer beside him gave a thankful grin before shouting orders at his men to bring them back into position. They hadn't heard anything from the North entrance and Eragon hoped the radio silence was because Orik was easily holding it. Footsteps behind them alerted him to more reinforcements and he counted thirty agents rounding the corner as they covered themselves.

He glanced over the wall to see the remaining enemy soldiers running back outside the building. Obviously regrouping and probably holding off for the night to receive new orders. Eragon let out a jubilant shout and grinned at the officer beside him. He held out his hand.

"Eragon Shay."

The man chuckled.

"Ethan Humell. Thanks for the save."

Orik's voice rang through the walkie.

"They're retreating!"

Eragon laughed, taking the walkie from the officer.

"Same here, friend!" He paused for a moment before speaking again. "Arya?"

She responded moments later.

"They have pulled back."

Ajihad's voice was next.

"We have won this fight, but no doubt they'll be back. The positions you are in now are no longer strong enough. Eragon, Arya, Orik, report immediately to the control room. Eragon, I want Thorn and Murtagh with you."

He glanced at the two beside him, wary still of their loyalties.

"But sir-"

"We don't have time to debate this Eragon. Bring them. The rest of you, try and cover the entrances with whatever you can and set charges for when they attack again. Then pull back. I want all of you down one level. There is only one way down and they'll have a bitch of a time getting through it."

A chorus of 'yes sir's' rang through and Eragon stood, motioning for his 'brother' and the DRAGON to follow him. They sprinted to the stairwell in the very center of the three entrances and waited for Arya and Orik. Eragon still hadn't been given full access to all rooms, the command center being one of them. Seconds later Orik came to a stop beside him, blood and sweat coating his face.

"Good to see you all in one piece."

He clasped his friend's hand.

"You as well."

The motion at the corner of his eye alerted him to Arya's arrival and he turned immediately, taking her in, checking for injuries. She looked about the same as Orik in the sense that there was grime and blood all over her, but otherwise she seemed fit enough. Her eyes remained on his as she approached, only switching targets when Murtagh moved slightly beside him. Her gaze was scathing and if it had been turned on him he probably would've stepped back. But she remained silent as she entered the codes and opened the stairwell for them. They couldn't risk the elevator at such a time.

Taking the steps two at a time, they were four floors down in no time. Arya used the codes once more and they made their way swiftly to their destination. Inside, Ajihad and Saphira were having a serious conversation. He and his daughter had not yet joined the fray but they were armed and ready to the next time around. From what he could tell, they had been trying to break through some communication's block that'd been set up. Thorn seemed to catch on immediately and walked to them. Eragon watched in annoyance as Saphira allowed him to take a seat beside her. He motioned for her to join him. When she approached he pulled her to the side.

"What the hell!?"

She sighed, running a hand through her hair.

"Eragon we need all the help we can get. They've shut down EVERYTHING around us. Three is better than two and he is brilliant."

"He could just be setting up to work against you! How do you know we can trust him? Them?" At this he allowed his anger to overcome him. "Ajihad! You cannot give the order to have us fight with these two! They could easily be spies."

Murtagh seemed uncomfortable but he was quiet as Elva stepped forward. The girl was as calm as ever.

"From the months that I have worked with them and their story is true. They will fight for us."

He crossed his arms to hide how hard his fists were clenched. To his left Arya was passive and silent, not putting forth her opinion. Murtagh placed a hand on his arm.

"My brother I promi-"

Eragon jerked away.

"You are not my brother and your promises mean nothing to me. It'll take more than the word of a teenager to get me to trust you."

Saphira sighed.

"Then take my word as well. Elva does not get these things wrong."

Angela nodded, stepping forward.

"And mine. She hasn't been wrong yet."

He glared.

"The keyword being 'yet.' You guys go ahead and stupidly put your faith in him. I shall withhold my own. Now let's move on to our next steps. How do we proceed?"

Nasuada brought up a screen showing the heat signatures outside and around their base.

"They're most likely going to attack tonight for any longer and we'll have the United States military up here. They've undoubtedly noticed the lack of communication coming from here. Saphira, Firnen, and Thorn will try and slip a message out to DuWeld and Beor but it hasn't been successful so far. We're going to hold our positions three floors up. It was specifically designed to give us a good defense in case of attack. Arya, you will take position at the front, holding the barriers as you did before. Orik, I want you to take the left corner defenses. The walls have already been lowered and so we basically have a fortress to fight from. Eragon you take the right-"

He interrupted immediately.

"I'm not letting Arya take the brunt of the attack by herself with nobody to watch her back!"

Ajihad frowned at him.

"I will be there with her." He was about to protest again but catching Arya's gaze he decided against it. Ajhad continued. "Nasuada, I want with Orik. Brom and Murtagh with Eragon." He cut him off before he could argue. "We are going to hold there and we will win there. I've sent forty agents to the armory to get all of the remaining gear and they're bringing it to stash it three floors up. We have over four hundred agents that will fight with us but from this imaging it seems their attack force is over a thousand. This is going to be a brutal battle and a bitter victory. Are you all prepared to die for our cause?"

One by one those gathered in the rooms nodded. Even Thorn and Murtagh bobbed their heads. Ajihad smiled grimly.

"Alright. Let's do this. Move out."

Saphira gripped his hand.

"Be careful and come out of this alive."

He squeezed her hand before following Arya out of the room. She seemed to be trying to get away before he could speak to her but he wasn't allowing that to happen. He gripped her arm and turned her.

"Arya hold up." She met his eyes and he found anger in them. But it wasn't aimed at him. He ignored those passing by and held her head in his hands. He pressed his forehead to hers. "Please don't die."

She closed her eyes, leaning her forehead against his.

"Same to you. I can't. . . Eragon I cannot go on if you are not here to walk with me."

He sighed, leaning in and kissing her softly. Her eyes were shining as if she was about to cry and he knew she wouldn't allow that. Disengaging herself from him, she walked off down the hallway. He pressed his hands against his own eyes to keep control of himself before turning towards the two men who were waiting. He nodded his head at the older agent he'd heard so much about.

"It'll be good to fight with you."

Brom gave him a nod.

"And you, Shay. I've heard a lot about you."

Eragon then turned to glare at Murtagh.

"You better watch yourself." After a nod from him as well, they all took off towards their position.

The polygraph is advanced so it's much better than the one's we actually have. They don't just have to ask yes or no questions. Just an FYI.

Also Durza in my story is quite literally insane. Brilliant, but bat-shit crazy. He's out for revenge and is a megalomaniac so he gives no effs about anything but himself.

The reason that the enemy kept advancing the walls even though they were exploding is because when one would explode, the Varden agents would keep on firing, thereby killing a lot of the soldiers who'd seen it happen. It didn't get to the rest of the enemy soldiers until after several happenings because of that.

The grenades are advanced as well. Just go with it haha.

Oh yeah and I'm sorry about the DNA thing. I honestly know nothing about it so it's just going to stay incorrect.

Thanks to everyone who answered the demographic question! :D

N-Six: Ok good :) Their relationship will still be building so hopefully I'll keep that sexual tension up. I have no idea what I meant by the DNA. Like, it makes no sense to me. How exactly would it look for Eragon and Murtagh? And Morzan? Like, how would I write that? Lol.

Flyflyaway: Thanks :)

JordanMathias: I'll try and throw in some more moments with them. And yeah I couldn't forgo the chance to freak Eragon out a bit :D

Thaimes17: Yeya! Their fight is coming up soon! And thanks!

TheLoneVoyager: :D I'm glad you see it that way. That's exactly how I wanted to portray that situation. Lol good I'll keep Roran's bit out of the way. And I don't remember what I said that would lead you to ask about Galby so I'm not sure what you mean haha.

Rainxoxo: Dang who got the gold? Don't go catatonic! Actually, if you do, I'm coming to steal your car. I'll have to go watch some of he figure skating stuff. I usually don't watch the olympics. Ha I bet that video is priceless. Well I tried to step up my game :( I got halfway through with this chapter a day after I updated the last and then was kind of stuck. I couldn't figure out how I wanted to get from one point in the story to another. Now I've got it figured out though. Yeah I hear it's acquired but who wants to suffer through drinking it enough to like it? Would it be pushing to much to ask what they're about? What's Lightening Returns? I've never heard of it lol. I totes guessed you were 23! I've got major talent! YES! Haha. And 23 isn't old!

Tamer-El: Thank you! Lol how many name changes have you had? And Smallville is fantastic. Hated season 4 though.

Elemental Dragon Slayer: Lol true that. I think Roran should've died instead of Islanzadi. Then Arya could've left with Eragon. Stupid Paolini. Meh is LAME you hair brained megalomaniac. I really like that word. I'm going to use it all the time haha. Hey so are you going to reveal your name on here? I said I wouldn't until you did ;)

The Hero of the Dark: I gotcha. I mean, I might've liked them if they didn't make Roran seem like such a big bad ass. Eragon is supposed to be the hero and Paolini gave Roran so much power.

Guest: Thanks :)

Renaissancebooklover108: Do you like DNA and genetics and that kind of stuff? It seems like it'd be so difficult to learn.

Guest: Thank you!

blackangel72456: Thanks :)

Ocadioan: Yeah I get ya. I just really like sugary sweet sometimes. That's good! And thanks!

linksaysmegusta: Thank you! I don't think I'm ready to die haha. I've heard that and it freaks me out :P I want to see somebody do it though.

TheeRoyalJester: Lol I don't want people coming to find me! Jester you'd probably send a contract killer to my house! I didn't ask for everyone's name! Just age and gender. Everyone knows my age and gender (if you don't, I'm a girl and I'm 19, almost 20). Lol I laughed so hard when I read that. Cucumber hahaha, priceless. You better win this bookworm contest! I DO WHAT I WANT! And yeah basically :D Hehe my dirty mind is the best. I can make the most platonic and innocent situations inappropriate and creepy. YES! MACS WIN. Haha nice. And nobody better be obsessed with me. I'll cry. Katy Perry is yours? Push ups make me curl into the fetal position and cry. But I'm getting in such great shape right now from working out so maybe I'll start doing them.

thetinker: Thank you! Hopefully I came through with the action in this chapter. Obviously next chapter there will be a lot more. Haha 15 words, got it! Yeah I'll definitely keep him limited to carrying Eragon and Arya's story. AWESOME! I'm glad you got another job! Thanks and I'm 19 and female but I'm probs not going to share my name :)

mr rophone: Thanks :D And that's amazing to hear! My ego has been inflated massively by this review! And you were signed in :)

John: Thanks! It did but I have guest reviews set on moderate so it takes 5 days. And I didn't know actually. I was correct on a lot of ages and genders I found out. I thought you might be 17 so there! I was wrong but at least I thought you were older and not younger :) DANG, two years? I need to get a move on and finish it. Haha why did you think it was total bull? I'd be curious to know. I'm not done and wont be done until it's finished completely but I'm sorry it's taking so long. Well I guessed two years older then lol.

lightningwind: Thank you! I'm definitely looking forward to writing their interactions and everyone's discovery soon. It was kind of revealed to a couple people in this but not too many.

Ascherit: Thanks! And I definitely wont put long chapters in of Roran. That'd be boing to write as well as for you all to read. That day isn't as far off as one might think!

Geraze90: Lol yeah Roran could kill any mood lmao. I'm bringing Brom in again. I actually keep forgetting about him so that's a problem. Ha no cigarettes or beers for me. I don't have a bike yet but I am learning to ride now :D

NaturalInduction: Thanks! :D And yeah everyone's opinions on Roran seem to be the same. Keep it short and simple for him haha.

Landstriker: Thank you!

Olaf the Snowman: DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN! I loved Frozen. Omg it was so good. Thank you! And yeah I try and make their relationship as realistic as possible.

C. R. Meadows: Thank you :) I'm always glad to get new readers!

funnelwebs: No it's alright bro :) Mostly like the book I think. I like how it turned out. That's how the argument needed to go. If she had just raged off and never talked to him again, or if she hadn't been mad, it would show no character development on her part. She'd have to be angry that the man she loves (even though they haven't said it) wont trust her or talk to her. Same goes for it ending quickly. If it'd taken forever for him to tell her it would show major immaturity on his part AND her part. It just wouldn't make sense. Yeah sometimes I miss stuff but I can't be bothered to check it over more than once. There has to be some down chapters I mean. But now things are going to start picking up again. And Murtagh is locked in their base. . . . well was, now he's out. I put some action in this one and there will definitely be more next chapter though! And I always like hearing people's opinions :)

Longestreviewer: Lol I'm not planning on changing it just because it'd take effort I don't want to give ;) I mean, I might change it if I figure out what it all means and how it works. I do appreciate his expertise on it though. I'm 19 and female :) totanic? Thanks! That's good to hear :D Yeah I'm in my Sophmore year of college.

rajaman0: Yeah I'll give Brom some screen time (so to speak) very soon. He'll be in the next chapter a lot. Haha Brom is a bit shady isn't he ;)

Ninja15912: Thanks! Yeah it'll basically be like that. I like how the book played out the ancestry and such so I'll keep it the same. Thank you again!

Walter Peterson: I went and listened to it! Really liked it and of course I'd like to hear about your idea!

Misfortune31: Thank you a million for your awesome review! Is your name based off of the character from League?

Morzan's Elvish Daughter: Yeah I know but I don't know about genetics so what evs. I wouldn't know how to fix it lol.
