Thanks to everyone who commented on last chapter! I love your feed back and comments! They're what keep me going and help me keep motivated!
I'm happy all of you guys enjoyed the little references! I'll add more little easter eggs like that in my future stories ;)
I wrote a quick one-shot called "Who is Ada Wong?" and you guys are welcome to it.
It's just a little thing that's been bothering me since I finished RE6. Not to mention, RE7 is coming out soon!
Last chapter was supposed to show the brutality and ruthlessness of the enemy. This chapter focuses more on action/drama I guess. To be honest, I had a hard time writing this chapter. I couldn't organize my thoughts and everything looked messy. I apologize in advance because I think this chapter turned out crappy...
I was gonna make this story 25 chapters long, but seeing as I can't fit it, I'll just make it longer. And I was gonna make this chapter sort of short, but there was so much that going on and stuff I didn't cover yet. In fact, this was all gonna happen last chapter. So I'm just like "Fuck it! I'll make it long!" xC Excuse my language.
Sorry this chapter long. And sorry it took a little while to write.
Chapter 24: Reunited
The green Titan followed his metallic friend and the fire demon to god knows where.
Beast Boy ignored the pain in his leg from his bite and pressed forward. The trio tread forward until they heard something. They took cover behind a car and building, and poked their heads out to see the threat; it was a horde of zombies, about seventy to eighty strong along with forty or so fire demons. They all had a purplish glow as they listed lazily through the street.
"Dammit...that's a lot. We can't take on that many."
"Then we'll just have to wait until they leave."
They heard another noise that came from the opposite direction.
"What was that?"
They looked to their right to see another horde of fire demons and zombies with three wyverns. It was the wave of monsters that they had fled from earlier. The two armies stood on opposite sides of the street, growling and hissing before they charged each other. The street was alight with sparks and crimson misted the air.
A demon's arm impaled a zombies chest, but the zombie wasn't fazed and clawed at the demon's head. One zombie exploded, its' body parts sprayed and splattered everywhere. It was odd; whenever a zombie or a fire demon with a purple glow exploded, any enemy that was exposed to the fallout from the explosion, i.e, blood and body parts, seemed to infect them with them with something and they would get the same purple light. Then the newly turned allies would fight against the enemy horde. It was amazing to watch; the zombies and fire demons with the purple glow were like walking bombs that would explode and infect nearby enemies and attack.
"Okay, this is weird."
"Yeah! And here I thought we seen it all."
They watched as the two armies clashed. It seemed the "good" side was winning until the wyverns attacked. They let out beastly roars as they charged towards into the heat of battle.
"Shit...we gotta get going!"
"Wait, wait. I wanna see how this ends."
"Beast Boy!"
"Oh, c'mon! It's not everyday you see something like this!"
Cyborg crouched back down, an amused smirk crossed his half robotic face and eyed the gore-fest.
"Yeah, you're right...this is pretty damn cool."
"If they can just get those stupid lizards on our side, we might actually-"
A loud BOOM caught both Titans off guard. Their eyes snapped to the direction of the explosion and three zombies had exploded, which completely coated a wyvern. It roared as it stomped around, crushing and smashing friends and foes alike before it went still. After a short pause, a purple glow engulfed the scaly beast as it turned its gaze on it's new enemies before attacking them. It was as if it was possessed; it was going after the army without the purple light. It clawed at fire demons while thrashing its' powerful tail and crunching enemies in its' jaws.
The wyvern lunged at one of the other wyverns and dug its' teeth into their back while clawing at its' face. The third slammed its' tail into the one attacking the other and spat acid from its mouth. It missed and hit a wight instead, which moaned as it melted into bloody, gooey mess.
The wyvern with a purple glow attacked the third after it released the second, and bit into their throat. The third shrieked and clawed at the belly of its attacker, then the second rammed into them both. Both creatures thudded on the ground, but the second wyvern was unable to differentiate between the two and attacked the one without the purple glow. As did the first, and proceeded to maul the third. It was like watching two giant lizards fight.
"Okay then."
Beast Boy smirked as they snuck away from their hiding places. They made it about sixty feet when Cyborg noticed his friend lagging behind. He thought about it; they had only covered thirty meters since they withdrew. They had ninety meters to cover, but Beast Boy wasn't looking too good and the bleeding in his leg had not entirely stopped. The green man grit his teeth as beads of sweat dripped down his face. Suddenly, walking became very hard and his legs felt like lead. He began to feel very dizzy and clammy.
"B, you okay?"
"Yeah" he lied.
Cyborg frowned. He knew his friend was lying. "You don't look okay."
He walked over to his best friend, rolled up his pants and nearly turned as green as Beast Boy. The wound had worsened, despite being relatively new. He deduced that the wyvern's acid spit had gotten onto the bite. They needed to deal with it or Beast Boy would die.
"How's...how's it look?"
Cyborg gulped and told his friend the truth. Of course, he wasn't really taking it well.
"I'm fine...let's keep going."
"Dude, you can't even walk. What the hell makes you think that you can fight?"
"I gotta do something! Cy, people are dying! We-urgh!"
"Wait here. I'm gonna find something or someone to help."
"You can't just leave me here."
"You'll be good. 'Sides, Blaze's here with ya."
"Who?"
Cyborg pointed his thumb at the fire demon, who just hovered idly.
"You named it Blaze?"
"Well, we can't just keep calling it 'thing' and 'dude.'"
"Blaze...why didn't I think of that?"
"Heh, maybe next time green bean."
They gave each other an acknowledging nod and Beast Boy watched as his friend disappeared. Damn, Victor was right: he was only going to get worse unless he got treatment. Although, who could diagnose him with whatever toxins was in his blood stream. It's not like anyone in our world would know what that creature was and could whip up a antidote just like that. Not unless, of course, they were Batman.
Beast Boy dropped to the ground and groaned. He was supposed to be immune to most venoms due to his animal physiology, but this was strange indeed. It was most likely that since the creature was foreign, an alien of sorts, his body had never been exposed to the toxin to develop immunity. The fact was he was dying, and it sucked.
"Urgh!"
If the blood loss wasn't going to kill him, the poison would. He looked up at the fire demon dazedly, his hands fumbling hand for nothing in general. The demon hovered over to him and tilted its' head. It grabbed a piece of metal that had broken off a car until it turned red. Beast Boy looked at it in horror, realization hitting him like a ton of bricks. He tired to scoot away but found he couldn't.
The metal was super heated and pressed into his bite for a few seconds. Beast Boy screamed in pain as the metal burned his flesh. He heaved as the metal was removed, and his torso was drenched in sweat, his mouth dry. The demon examined the wound before pressing the metal into his flesh again. The green Titan growled through grit teeth, the pain was excruciating. Of course, between bleeding to death or the poison, cauterizing the wound was a necessary evil. He could barely move before, now he sure as hell he couldn't. He felt the metal press against his bite several more times before he heard heavy footsteps from someone yelling his name before he passed out.

"Keep moving, let's go."
The Boy Wonder watched as lines of people slowly evacuated the city. Many people carried nothing but the clothes on their back, while others had some backpacks or bags. Many of the people looked sullen and hopeless, other looked angry and scared. He heard many people grumbling under their breath that this was the Titan's fault. Robin fought the urge to tell them off but he knew that it wouldn't solve Titan glanced back at the breach; it was getting bigger and the waves were becoming more frequent. He was lucky that he caught a reprieve and was able to evacuate some people. But he saw the destruction happening to his home and couldn't help but feel so useless, especially now. He couldn't fight, not in his condition and if he did, it would just make things worse. And it wasn't as though he could get in contact with the other Titans.
A frustrated growl escaped the Boy Wonder's mouth; he didn't know what the hell was happening.
'What's happening to Cyborg and Beast Boy? Was Starfire alright? Where the hell was Raven?'
Such questions plagued Robin and he was lost in his thoughts until he saw the newest arrival. It was young man, woman and a girl-no older than twelve. He was about to approach them when they paused. The man took the took the girl shoulders.
"Sherry, go with Claire. She'll look after you."
"Okay..."
"Where are you going?"
"I'm gonna stay behind to see if people need help. Besides, you still need to find your brother, Chris."
The woman nodded and took the little girl's hand in her own and walked. Robin stopped the man. He looked no older than twenty one, maybe twenty-two and was dressed in a blue police officer's uniform. He had dark blonde hair and had blue eyes.
"What's your name, officer?"
"Leon, Leon Scott Kennedy."
"Can you tell me what's happening out there?"
"My first day on the job and already the city's going to shit; there are fire demons and zombies everywhere. Not to mention the frickin hole in the sky."
"Zombies?"
"Yeah, a group of 'em just came outta nowhere and started attacking people. Weird thing is they weren't even eating people, just killing them."
Robin stayed silent for a while. He hadn't encountered wights and zombies yet. He thanked the officer and began leaving.
"Wait! I want to help!"
"You should stay here and look after these people. They need help evacuating."
The officer furrowed his before he gave a reluctant nod.
"Wait! There...there was a woman, Ada Wong, somewhere in the city. She helped us out... I don't know if she made it out, but it you find her..."
Robin looked back at the man. He recognized that look all too well; the Boy Wonder had it since this ordeal began. Robin nodded before he took off.
+East Jump City+
Cyborg carried his incapacitated, keeping clear of "Blaze". He had come back to his friend with a first aid kit that he had found in car, only to find Beast Boy was unconscious. Here he was now, carrying his green comrade to his other comrade, the princess of Tameran. His eye fell to his best friend's leg; it was burned and the flesh around it was red. In a dark humorous twist, the bleeding had stopped and they were getting close to Starfire.
His sensors picked up on air fluctuations and a specific heat signature. A sigh of relief escaped the metallic man. But their streak of good luck was running out when a hundred or so fire demons were approaching. Not taking any chances, the half-robot dove behind a car but that wouldn't be enough. He looked around, noticing several strewn corpses and gulped. He made a mental apology to these people before he piled them on top of himself and Beast Boy. "Blaze" hovered idly by not too far away, watching as its' fellow kin marched by until one moved over to him. They seemed to communicate, through chirps and hisses or through some telepathy, Cyborg did not know or care as long as the horde just moved by. The fire demon rejoined its' group and the horde slowly made their way through.
'C'mon already!'
A drop of sweat ran down the cybernetic Titan as he watched the horde. The army was leaving when Beast Boy let out a grunt of pain. Cyborg's eye went wide and his jaw dropped to the ground. The army stopped and turned its' gaze in his general direction.
'Shit shit shit! No, NO!'
Cyborg clenched his fist and jaw as three approached their hiding place. They drew ever closer, first ten feet away, then five, then three. Adrenaline was pumping and even with his half-mechanical brain, the tin man could feel his fight or flight response kicking in.
He couldn't take on this many, especially with Beast Boy incapacitated. The Titan would constantly be on the defensive and it didn't help that he was only at fifty percent.
'This is bad! Really bad!'
Another groan from Beast Boy. That was all it took. The army let out frenzied shrieks and screeches as they closed in on the duo. To make matters worse, the bodies which trapped his arm and leg, making him immobile. The cybernetic Titan panicked as they attacked, unable to defend himself.
One fire demon impaled its arm through his back and spine, poking out through his sternum. He grunted in pain as another wrapped its tentacle-like arm around his neck to strangle him. Cyborg shut his eye instinctively as the trio of monsters mocked and tortured him. He felt them stab at his left arm and right leg, over and over. Screws and metallic bits went flying as the demons slowly killed him.
But he had to hold out, Beast Boy was just seven feet away. He had to keep their attention on him. Cyborg made choking noises as the fire demon continued to strangle him. He couldn't even scream.
"Skreeeee!"
He looked up dazedly as the demon strangling him evaporated, then the other two. His throat was so pressed he couldn't speak.
"Cy.-Cyborg!"
"S-st-ar...!"
The Tameranean cleared the demons surrounding her friends and zipped through them, faster than a bullet. She landed in front of him and pushed the corpses off her friend. The red-head took a defensive fighting stance as her Cyborg slowly caught his breath.
She barely had moment when one threw itself a her but she caught it, spun it around and tossed it at two in-coming demons. Then she hit them with her starbolts, following up with her eye blasts at a demon charging on the right. The proud princess grimaced as the stab-wound in her shoulder throbbed with pain.
Cyborg slowly got to his feet, recovering from his near-death call. He caught sight Starfire's wound, finally able to find his voice.
"What happened?" he croaked.
"I was attacked, by some manner of creature."
"You too?"
She looked a him, partially confused. "Friend Beast Boy? Is he...?"
"No...he was attacked by these...things and they bit him. He nearly bled out...I went to find help and saw he cauterized the wound. But he's not getting better. I think he's been poisoned."
"How can that be? I thought he was immune to many toxins..."
Their thoughts were caught off as the horde of demons surrounded them.
"Maybe we should talk about this later, Star!"
"Agreed! Shall we do the kicking of butt?"
A smirk appeared on the cyberman and they both charged the horde. Starfire ignored the wound in her shoulder and hurled starbolt after starbolt while Cyborg blasted multiple enemies with his sonic cannon. The Tameranean princess shot one two feet from Cyborg that was out of his peripheral vision. Cyborg gave his friend a grateful nod and returned a shot at a fire demon that was behind Starfire, as thanks. Starfire punched one fire demon through the head, grabbed it and threw it at three others while her comrade swatted two coming away then blasted them.
"Star!"
She grabbed his hand and he spun her around in a circle. Their little tactic managed to thwart of some demons and extinguish others.
Despite their progress, they were overwhelmed. They weren't doing much by attacking from one side, maybe they'd fare better if they attacked by both sides. Starfire gave her comrade a quick nod before flying up and behind the horde, proceeding to pelt them with starbolts. Cyborg attacked from his end with his arm cannon, shooting several in the face, stomach, and chest. To their joy, they were doing well and successfully eliminated a quarter of the enemy forces. Their joy came to screeching halt when they heard a shriek.
Starfire knew that sound; it was her enemy that she fought earlier. After being stabbed in the shoulder, the princess had seen a little girl surrounded by fire demons and rescued her. The alien flew away from the battle, taking the girl to safety. Luckily, the girl reunited with her mother not long after and headed to an evacuation zone. That was how she ended up here.
But it seemed the enemy found them. Another shriek and the winged creature came swooping in with it's spear in hand. Starfire clenched her fists as the creature held up the spear. Another loud screech and several hobbling, walking, moaning corpses converged on their location. In addition to the fire demons, they now had to contend with the wights and this creature. Cyborg grit his teeth; whenever they made progress, it was always was one step forward, and two steps back.
"Star! Fall back! We can't win here!"
She glared at the red monster with the spear and dived down to her friend. Cyborg rushed over to Beast Boy, but then the bodies on top him started reanimating.
"Shit!" was all he could utter before he instinctively shot the zombies in the head.
Starfire looked at him amazed and he grinned. "Video game instincts."
She walked over and pushed the bodies off her green friend when she seen a fire demon floating by.
"No! Starfire! Wait!"
The princess blasted it in the face with a starbolt, to which it shrieked as it evaporated. A smirk crossed her face as something fell off of that fire demon.
"Starfire!" her friend called again as he limped over to her. "That one wasn't a bad guy!"
"What?"
"The ones with the purple glow are 'good guys.'"
Her eyes shot quickly to the one she just killed and saw a something silver on the ground. She flew over to it and picked it up.
"This is Friend Raven's! Why does this creature have it?"
"We don't know but we think she sent it. Now how are we supposed to know where Rob and Rae are!"
"I know where Robin is!"
They heard a growl and found they were completely surrounded.
"Let's just get outta here!"
"Agreed!" she said as her friend slung the green Titan over his shoulder.
She grabbed his hand and the trio bolted into the sky, barely avoiding the clutches of their enemy. Cyborg and Starfire felt the wind whip their faces as they sped through the air. Even with her superhuman resilience and strength, Starfire was exhausted and the wound in her shoulder grew steadily more painful but they needed to finish escaping.
"Where's Robin?" Cyborg shouted so she could hear him.
"I seen him last moving north!"
"Then let's go there!"
Before they could finish planning, a red ray zipped right over Starfire's head that missed by a centimeter. They looked back to see the winged demon pursuing them.
"Persistent bastard!"
"Can you 'do the holding of off!'"
"Star! Left!"
The aviator tilted left and avoided a red beam. Cyborg aimed his sonic cannon at the beast but it was moving too fast and he missed every shot. They were never going to get anywhere with their pursuer on their heels.
"Starfire! Can you take me by that building over there! Maybe I can get a steady shot!"
The trio came up to the point where Starfire and Robin last parted. Nodding, the princess flew near a red building while still carrying the duo. The red monster charged full speed ahead at them, snarling. Cyborg steadied his aim while trying to keep the unconscious Beast Boy from falling. A small grunt escaped his mouth as he fired and he held his breath. His shot hit it right on target and the creature shrieked as it came spiraling into them at ninety miles an hour.
Starfire dodged to her right as the creature crashed into the building. Brick and a cloud of dust filled the air as it fell fifteen stories to the ground below. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips as the three fled west.
From their vantage point, they could see all the destruction in Jump City. Fires everywhere threatened to burn down the city as smoke reached the sky. There were more dead people roaming the city than living ones, while fire demons patrolled the area. Glass was everywhere, cars were turned over, destroyed and dented. Gas, smoke, and blood filled the air. In a cruel sense of irony, Beast Boy was right about the scent he caught earlier. Well, it would have been more accurate to say Terra was right. Jump City had gone to shit.
"I wonder how many people made it out..."
"I hope Robin was successful in the evacuating of people..."
"Me too..."
"There he is!" she said excitedly before she set down Cyborg and landed on the ground.
"Robin!"
"Starfire! Cyborg! Thank god!" he said as he embraced the Tameranean princess first. He took her by the shoulders, making sure she wasn't hurt. To his dismay, her bloodied wound in her shoulder was the first thing on the leader's mind.
"You're hurt."
She shook her head. "It is but a flesh wound."
He knew she was lying but decided not to press it. Cyborg put Beast Boy down gently. Next, the leader addressed his metallic friend. They gave each other a brotherly hug. He shook his friend's shoulder.
"You look like hell."
"You don't look so hot either, spiky."
"What's wrong with Beast Boy?"
"It's a long story."
"What's been going on?"
"I have fought a creature that can revive the dead and turn them into mindless creatures."
"B and I fought fire demons, seen zombies and oh yeah! A frickin' giant lizard that spits acid! It's been a real slice a heaven."
"I do not know what this 'heaven slice' is, but it sounds delicious. But, I assume that it is not a cake?"
"Sorry" the cybernetic man rubbed his temple. "How many people got evacuated?"
"I don't know. Hopefully more than half. Jump City's turned into a warzone."
The leader looked at his rag-tag team. He never seen them in worse shape; Starfire had cuts, bruises, lacerations all over her arms legs, her hair was messy and tattered. Not to mention the stab wound in her shoulder with blood staining her clothes, and her face was covered in dirt, grime and sweat. Cyborg was no better; he had strangulation marks around his neck, his left arm had multiple stab wounds, as did his leg. His face had so many bruises, it was a wonder how he could see. He had scorch marks and soot from fighting the fire demons. Most striking was the the stab mark in his chest from where fire demons had impaled him. Then his eyes fell to Beast Boy, who was beginning to stir. He was two shades lighter than his normal hue and his face was twisted with pain. Beast Boy was covered in gashes, scratches and burns. Robin's eyes fell to Beast Boy's bite wound and he looked back at Cyborg to which he averted.
"You cauterized his wound?"
"I didn't exactly do it...but he was bleeding out. And when I got there, it was like that."
"How...?"
"There...there was a fire demon. It stumbled into us while we were hiding from a horde but it didn't attack us. We think it was sent to help us and it had purple glow and it was wearing Raven's-"
Robin looked around. That raised the question: where was she?
"Wait...where's Raven?"
Beast Boy coughed, his throat dry and woke groggily. His friends looked over at him and ran to his side. The poor man just watched confusedly, unable to understand what his fellow titans were saying. Sweat threatened to blind him as he felt the poison course through his veins but he was so exhausted and his throat was so dry, he couldn't speak. The green man felt nauseous, thirsty, dazed and really sore.
"He is awake."
"He needs medical attention immediately."
"What the hell are we supposed to do?"
"Perhaps, I can take a look."
All the Titans looked behind them to see their comrade in arms, Raven.
End Chapter.
