Chapter Four: Story Time
Author's Note: Thank you to everyone who has read, followed and reviewed my story! At this time I've had 909 people read my story to which I'm amazed at! Thank you all so much! Just remember, if you have an idea, review and let me know! I know I've mainly written Captain Swan but I do love Snowing, Rumbelle and Outlaw Queen! Also, I love the bromance between Charming, Killian and Robin, so I would indeed write something about them!
Disclaimer: I don't own OUAT that belongs to the amazingly, talented writers and creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.
Regina Mills had it all. No one in this stupid little town knew who she was, they didn't defy her even if she had been in the wrong and she was the boss, the mayor to be precise. No one would ever go up against her in an election for fear of her wrath. The best part was however, not the power she felt or the control she had. It was her son. Henry.
That brought a smile to her face that was only on her face when she either thought of her son, or saw him. She had adopted him when he was just on month old and she never looked back. Now he was five years old. He was a happy child. One who always had a smile and looked on the brighter side of life which always warmed her heart.
'Mommy!' A loud voice said. Regina sat up in her bed and looked over at the door. Henry was standing there, in his blue pyjamas, holding his favourite book, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Even the book was a stupid as the actual person and it didn't even have all the facts.
'Yes, Henry?' Regina asked, patting the spot beside her. He ran over and sat beside her, grinning.
'Can you read this story?' Henry asked. Regina gave a sigh but then smiled at him.
'I have a better idea, Henry,' Regina smiled, 'how about I tell you a story?'
'I'd like that!' Henry grinned.
'Okay this is how it goes,' Regina said.
'Once Upon a Time there was a young princess. She was very caring and kind. She loved her father a lot but her mother was mean and strict and always put her down on everything she did. The young Princess hated it but hated it more when her mother, Cora, used magic against her.
'Cora never harmed the young Princess, only scared her. Now this story starts when Regina has gone to meet her love, her one true love, Daniel. They were deeply in love and were talking about running away when a little girl on a horse came past them. The horse had gone crazy!
'Now, the young Princess, did what any decent human being would do. She ran after her on her horse! After about a minute, the young Princess caught up with the little girl. She had long black hair and bright green eyes.
'The Princess soon learnt the little girl's father was a well-known King in another kingdom. He had proposed marriage to the Princess for saving the little girl and Cora had accepted the offer, never thinking of the consequences.'
'But what about the Princess's true love?' Henry asked. Regina gave him a small smile.
'The Princess ran off as soon as she could to tell Daniel about this arranged marriage. They had made a plan. The next morning, they would ran away, far, far away and never look back but that plan was going to fail. The little girl had heard them talking.
'The Princess ran after her, and managed to tell her something very important; if you love someone, don't give up on them. The Princess told the little girl not to tell Cora since Cora would never understand but the little girl could not keep a secret.
'So the next day, as the Princess and the Stable Boy were about to leave, the Stable Boy proposed to the Princess, out of true love, with a ring from the saddle. Now as they shared a kiss, her mother caught them. She looked angry.
'But she took a different approach. She told Daniel she gave them her blessing. She gave him some advice. That you have to do what's best for you children. Then, much to the Princess and her true love's surprise, Cora killed Daniel.'
'Oh no!' Henry exclaimed. 'That's mean! Why would she do that? They were in love!'
'They were,' Regina said, 'that they were.'
'The Princess was very upset. Now, she was being forced to marry the King and that was when the truth was now known to her. That the little girl told Cora the Princess's secret. The Princess was angry with her. She should have been able to keep a secret from Cora.
'From that moment on, the Princess did all she could to hurt the little girl because it was her fault that her true love died. The Princess eventually became Queen of the large land and she started to learn magic from an Evil Sorcerer.
'Her heart was going dark every time she could not get the little girl who is now a bandit, fleeing from her crimes. Then she got an amazing idea: why not just cast a curse? So the Queen did indeed do that. She cast the dark curse, ripping everyone away from the land with magic, to a land without magic, where the Queen would be victorious. Where everyone would forget the bad things she's done.'
Regina looked over at Henry who was thinking hard.
'Mommy,' Henry said, 'why did the little girl tell Cora the secret?'
'Because- because she was weak.' Regina said eventually. 'She was old enough to be able to keep the secret but she betrayed the Princess's trust.'
'So Daniel died because of the little girl?' Henry frowned.
'Yes indeed, Henry.' Regina said quietly.
'But wouldn't Cora try and get the answer from the little girl? Perhaps the little girl was bad at lying.' Henry said. Regina snorted quietly. Snow White was indeed bad at lying.
'Well, how about I go make some pancakes for breakfast?' Regina asked, smoothing out her silk pyjamas.
'Yes, please!' Henry grinned. Regina smiled and took his hand, walking out of her room and down the stairs to the kitchen.
'Mommy,' Henry said, taking something from his backpack that was lying near the kitchen bench. 'Mommy, here is something I wanted to give you.'
'What's that, Henry?' Regina asked, smiling widely.
'This.' Henry grinned. Regina took the pink thing from his hands and felt tears in her eyes. There was two hand imprints with the words "I love you Mommy" written.
'Thank you Henry,' Regina said, 'it's very beautiful.'
'I love you, mommy,' Henry said, hugging her.
'I love you more than anything thing, Henry.' Regina smiled.
