A.N./ I am back! Let's hope for good this time. I have had a major case of writers block. I know where I want the story to go, I just don't know how to get it there. I was planning to make the story pretty happy and painless from now on. Yeah, that has changed. I know you love me right. Well I was asked for more drama so that it's what you will get. This chapter however will be a fluffy piece in prep for what is to entail. I have a plan for the next few chapters so hopefully we can see more off each other, but no promises. So here goes, I hope you Enjoy and review for me. I love you all.
Chloe lets a tear slid down her cheek as she listens in and thinks of how amazing her wife is.
Beca was slowly waking due to the heat of the sun in her face. She still had her eyes closed when she felt a weight on her chest and small breaths in her face. She knew exactly how to play this situation. Beca begins sniffing the air, exaggerating the action by scrunching up her face.
"It smells like there is a little monkey on my chest, but that can't be true can it, Chlo?" Beca inquires with her eyes still closed.
"I don't know babe, anything is possible." Responds her wife. Beca begins sniffing the area once more when the most glorious sound she has ever heard fills her ears.
"It's not a monkey Mama, it's me Davey!" Giggles her 3 year old son. With that Beca opens her her eyes and is met with the eyes that once hurt her. But in these eyes she sees innocence, these eyes look at her with love and admiration daily. They are not the steely blue eyes of her family and self, or the cerulean blues of her wife. They are the emerald green eyes that have once caused her family so much pain and hurt. But they are now the eyes that cause her the most love and joy, they are the eyes that cause her to wake up every morning.
"Are you sure, I mean you climb like a monkey. You love bananas like a monkey. And you even sound like a monkey when I tickle you." Beca rushed out the last sentence lounging playfully at the little boy. He tried to escape the onslaught of tickles, but failed miserably getting caught in the blankets. The room was soon filled with the young boys high pitched squeals and laughter.
"See, you sound like a little monkey."
"Mama, stop. Please stop. Mommy help me. Tell her I'm not a monkey. Help mommy." He rushes out in between his laughs.
"I don't know baby, she does make a good point." His mother replies with a smirk on her face. Soon she is on the bed as well tickling the little boy.
"Please stop, Mama. Mommy that's not fair. Stop please, I'm gonna pee the bed!" Squealed the little boy, secretly loving the attention he was getting.
"Beca if he wets himself you are cleaning up the mess." Chloe pointedly states.
With that Beca's hands flew off the boy and all movement halted.
"Okay, okay. But tell me why you decided to wake me up this fine day?"
"It's June 27th silly!" Playfully sighed the small boy.
"And, what's so special about that day?" Beca asks knowing the exact significance of the day.
"Mama, it's your birthday!" David exasperated.
His mother's stare at him and laugh at his innocence and excitement.
"I had no idea!" Beca fakes surprise. "So, what did you get me then?"
"We made you breakfast, right mommy?" He looks towards Chloe "It's your favorite peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes. I helped, I even got to flip them." David states proudly.
"Well if you made them I'm sure they are great, probably even better than mommy's." She whispers that last part.
Her son looks at her with the most serious face and replies, "Totally!"
"Alright alright, let's eat the pancakes before they get cold, why don't we?" Suggests Chloe. David hurries to scramble out of the bed to get food. "Davey, didn't you forget something?" Hints Chloe. When he realized what she was talking about her jumped back on the bed and planted a sloppy kiss on his mother's cheek. "Happy Birthday mama!" He says before he is out the door again.
"Thank you, my little monkey." She calls after him, making her way out of bed. Chloe laughs at this before heading towards her wife. She plants a loving kiss on her wife's lips, "Happy Birthday Baby."
"Mmmm. Thank you." Beca says finally getting out of bed.
Once downstairs the women laugh as they see their son at the table in his booster seat ready for food. Beca grabs a cup of coffee and Chloe begins dishing up the pancakes. She places a plate in front David and reminds him, "Baby don't forget, we can't eat until Mama blows out her candle and makes her wish."
"I know mommy, but could we hurry it up Mama I am starving!" He replies dramatically.
A few minutes later everyone has dug into their food when Davey lifts his head and asks "What did you wish for Mama?"
"You know I can't tell you, or it won't come true little monkey."
"I know, I know, but if I had a wish, I would ask for a little brother or sister."
Beca makes a face, that Chloe mistakes a hurt. Soon Chloe speaks up, "Don't worry Cricket, it will happen. I can feel it, I know it is meant to happen, we just have to wait. We can keep trying."
"I know, it just su- S-U-C-K-S." Beca looks up at her.
"Urgh, I hate it when you spell. I think it is D-U-M!" Davey pipes in.
The girls laughs, before Chloe responds, "Add a B to that or you will be too." Which just makes Beca laugh even more. "And Cricket I know it's hard, but we will be just fine, and when it does happen we will all be very ready." Chloe says getting up to clear the table. She places a soft kiss on the top of her wife's head, and helps the three year old down from his chair. "Davey why don't you go get cleaned up, then we can give Mama her presents."
The boy quickly runs from the room, more excited than his mother. Once the dishes are cleaned up, the women sit down in the living room and wait for their son's return. A few moments later and,David is in the room dressed and carrying 3 gift bags.
"Baby why don't I open one present now, and the rest at the party later." Suggested Beca.
"But you have more to open at the party, these ones are special." Reasoned her son.
"Okay, which one first?"
David hands her a medium size bag, she begins to remove the tissue paper one piece at a time. David groans becoming more impatient. Beca just smirks, and begins opening it faster. She pulls out a Converse box. She lifts the lid and sees a custom pair of black Converse, with a high top layer in lime green, the laces and logo as well as the soles are also lime green.
"These are great, thank you. I will even wear them tonight for the party."
She hugs the little boy and blows a kiss to her wife, across the room. Beca begins to open, the larger bag. Inside she finds a, box of Beats.
"Guys I already have two pair of headphones, why would you pay for more?" Even though Beca makes plenty of money, she would rather it be spent on her son and her wife, not herself.
"Just open the box, Babe these are a little differently than the ones you have." Chloe states.
Beca opens the box and in surprised to see a black pair of Beats, with a lime green airbrushed design on the headband. In the design is stars, music notes and in the center is her name. She is in shock, knowing that the headphones are, almost $300 plus the fact that they got them customized.
"Babe this is too much-" she says before she is cut off.
"No, they are not nearly enough. You do so much for David and I and we appreciate it so much, and we wanted to show you that today."
"Thank you." This time Beca gets up to kiss her wife and son.
"Do you like them momma, I picked the colors."
"Of course, I love them, they are my favorite colors. Thank you so much my little monkey!"
"One last gift, this one is from me." Chloe hands her the small gift bag. Inside Beca finds a locket, much like the one she got for Chloe almost 4 years ago.
"I figured even though we aren't, yet you should have one. I know you may want to wait and I get that, but I know it is gonna happen for us. And when it does you can put the first sonogram on one side and the first photo on the other." Chloe says looking up at her wife hoping she isn't overstepping. She is an it frightened when she sees tears in Beca's eyes.
"Its beautiful baby, I love it. Now I know it is my birthday but I have a surprise for you guys. You know the song I have been working on, well I finished and I want you to be the first to hear it."
With that Beca got up from her seat and walks to the other room. There she grabs a disc from her bag and places it in the in home stereo system. Once she presses play the whole room has filled up with a soft thumping. Beca is watching her wife and son, Davey is just bouncing his head with the beat and. Chloe is still.
"Momma, is this just gonna be drums?" Questions the small boy.
Chloe finally looks up from her hands, "That's not drums baby, is it?" She looks at her wife.
"Then what is it Mommy, cause to me it just sound like drums."
"Davey come here baby." Beca calls the little boy over as she picks him up and sets him in her lap.
"Listen to this" she says as she places his head on her chest, "Do you know what that thumping noise is?"
"Yeah, Momma that's your heart!" He exclaims proudly.
"Yeah baby that right," she responds "Doesn't it sound like my song?"
"Yeah. It does, but why are we listening to your heart, I thought you had a song for us."
"Davey, that's not momma's heartbeat." Chloe says finally able to speak again. She sees his confused look and begins to speak again "That is the heartbeat of your little baby brother or sister."
"Really?" he squeals. "Then where is it?"
"Its in my tummy right now." Beca responds with the biggest smile.
"Why?"
Beca hoped she wouldn't have to have this conversation with her son for a long time but she is still happy to do so.
After explaining how Beca is pregnant to her son he soon becomes bored and goes to play, this leaves the two women alone to discuss.
"Baby I thought the test was negative?" Chloe questions still a bit confused.
"It was but I wanted to try again. I know we said we were gonna go together but I figured if it didn't take then I wouldn't have to say anything, and if it did then I would have a surprise." Beca nervously smiles.
"Are you mad I didn't tell you?"
"Well no, not really I'm just surprised. This is real right?"
"Yes."
"Oh my gosh Baby we're pregnant!" Chloe squeals. Beca laughs at how much she sounds like their son.
"I know Babe. I'm so excited. But I'm kinda scared." Beca says pulling Chloe into a hug.
"Don't be scared baby, you worried for me when I was pregnant with David, I am gonna worry for you. Besides it's not good for the bab." Chloe says as she leans in towards Beca's stomach.
"Hey baby, I'm your mommy. I am so excited to meet you, so is your momma and your big brother David. We have waited for a long time for you to come be a part of our family. You are going to make our family complete, but just don't follow in Davey's footsteps and come earlier tha-" Chloe looks up to her wife "I didn't even ask, how far along are you? When are you due?"
"Beca just smiles down at her wife remembering how excited she was when Chlo was pregnant and how she made a nightly ritual of talking to her belly. "I'm 12 weeks. Our due date is around January 10th"
"12 weeks! How did I not see it?I can't believe you kept this a secret for so long."
"I know babe, I'm sorry I didn't tell you but when the test came up positive I looked at the dates and thought it would be a cool surprise. Plus I am far enough along that we can tell everyone tonight at the party." Beca explains herself hoping Chloe will understand.
"Beca that's a great idea how are we gonna tell everyone?"
They continue to discuss how to tell all friends and family. Beca looks at her wife and watches her son playing in the other room and she feels happiness fills her body.
"Beca. Beca baby, will you go get the door?"
Beca looks at her wife and she isn't the one speaking to her. The scene around her fades as she opens her eyes.
"Becs can you get the door, my feet hurt?"
Beca looks around and sees that she is in her and Chloe's apartment. Hmm, Must have been a dream. That sucks. It was a nice dream. She thinks as she gets out of bed and heads towards the door.
She opens the door to find an unfamiliar woman standing in front of her.
"Umm. Hello?" She questions.
"Are you Chloe Beale-Mitchell?"
"No, she's my wife. What is this about?"
The woman looks past Beca "Could you please have her come to the door?" she asks.
"Umm yeah. Chlo, babe it's for you."She calls into the apartment.
A few minutes later Chloe walks up behind Beca "Can I help you?" She questions the stranger.
"Are you Chloe Beale-Mitchell?" The woman asks again.
"Yes." Chloe answers looking at Beca who is as confused as she is.
"You have been served." States the woman as she hands Chloe a packet of papers and turns to leave.
Before Chloe and Beca can respond she is gone.
"Babe what is going on?" Beca asks as Chloe reads the papers in her hand.
"Luke's parents are suing for custody of the baby." Chloe responds as she collapses in tears.
