Lana smiled softly as the five month old lay on Kozik's chest chewing on one of his toys. There was no question in anyone's mind that the little boy was Happy's with his dark hair and black eyes.
Kozik had fallen asleep on the couch, Caiden comfortably sleeping on his chest, but a couple hours later the baby had woken and was content to lay there on his tummy playing with his small stuffed puppy, Kozik's tattooed arm wrapped protectively over him.
Lana sat in the chair next to the couch watching them when the two eight year old boys, Thomas and Rylan ran into the room, the blonde haired, blue eyed Kaitlyn right behind them.
"Mama, he took my motorcycle!" Rylan whined, his bright green eyes glaring at his best friend. Lana had agreed to watch Thomas while Tara took Abel to a doctor's appointment.
"Shh, daddy's sleeping." Lana said, motioning to Kozik. "Did you take the motorcycle?" She asked Thomas.
"He gave it to me." The other boy said, his bright blue eyes wide.
"Did not!" Kaitlyn piped in, stepping up to Thomas. Half his age and half his size, she showed no fear.
"Did to. It looks just like my dad's." He nudged the little blonde girl who looked so much like Kozik.
"Don't touch her!" Rylan pushed Thomas. He knew the other boy would never hurt Katie, he was just as protective, as was Abel, but only one person had the right to push his sister around and that was him.
"Enough!" Happy barked as he entered the room, beer in hand. He'd been out in the garage working on his bike. "Give it to me." He held out his grease-covered hand and Thomas handed the toy over. "You can have it back when you learn to share."
Thomas stared up at Happy wide-eyed while Rylan gave the killer a look that could rival his own. Kaitlyn held her head up victoriously, viewing the minor scolding as her father taking her side on the matter.
"Go play, baby." Lana said to Rylan, not wanting either boy to get into trouble.
Once the boys disappeared back into Rylan's room, Katie moved to Happy's side and he immediately bent over to pick her up. He and Kozik had their own special bond with each kid, but there was something extra special about Hap and Kaitlyn. The little girl was his kryptonite and he would move heaven and earth for her. As much of a hard ass as he was, he'd never been able to say no to her big, blue eyes.
She knew it too and used it to her full advantage every chance she got. "Daddy, can I have a cookie?" She asked sweetly.
"Wake up, fucker." Happy said, hitting Kozik's arm.
"Hap." Lana scolded. She'd been getting after him a lot lately since the kids had decided to start repeating every swear word they heard and Happy had had the hardest time watching his language. Happy rolled his eyes and went back into the kitchen, Katie still clutching onto his kutte.
Kozik stirred, but didn't open his eyes. Lana smirked and stood. She reached down and scooted Caiden closer to his face. "Wake up daddy." She whispered to the baby, putting another toy in front of him.
Excited at the new toy, he cooed and laughed and then slapped his hands on Kozik's chest, effectively waking him after a moment. He looked at the baby groggily and smiled. "Hey, little man." He said, kissing the dark hair on his head.
Happy reentered the room, Kaitlyn still in his arms with a cookie in her hand. Hap would never admit it, but he almost always gave in to her smallest demands. "Jax wants us at the clubhouse." He said to Kozik as he took a drink from the beer in his hand.
Kozik lifted Caiden up above his head, making him laugh and Lana took him as he sat up. She positioned the baby on her hip as Hap walked over and kissed her, before doing the same to the baby boy she was holding.
"You be good for your mama?" He asked quietly to the little girl in his arms who simply rested her little blonde head against his chest and started to close her eyes. It was close to her nap time and she hated it whenever the guys left. She knew when the club called, that was usually when she didn't get her way with them.
Her eyes were closed, but she was still awake. She snuggled into him further, not wanting him to leave. "Jax should let you stay." She mumbled.
Happy shook his head. The little girl sounded exactly like Lana. He'd been in love with Katie from day one, but the moment she'd started talking he'd known he was fucked.
"We'll be back in a little while, baby girl." Kozik said, prying the girl away from Happy, only to have her attach herself to him. She was a daddy's girl through and through and she had both men wrapped around her little finger.
Kozik kissed her on the top of the head and laid her down on the couch where he'd been. After he peeled her off of him, he covered her up with his hoodie that had been lying on the back of the couch. The material covered her completely and she hugged it to her, completely comforted by her father's smell.
"Are you gonna be long?" Lana asked, following them to the door. Kozik pulled his kutte on and turned to kiss her.
"Just church. Shouldn't take more than an hour." He kissed Caiden on the top of the head and turned toward the door.
Kozik and Happy walked in the door around eleven that night. The club had gotten caught up with something and Jax had needed them. Lana hadn't been thrilled at the idea of getting the kids to bed alone, it was always harder on her own because the kids hated when they were gone, but she had understood.
It was quiet and the house was dark except for one light coming from the living room. Happy went straight to shower, hating coming home with blood on him. Kozik went into the living room to find Lana asleep in one of the chairs, Katie curled up on her lap.
He watched them for a moment before crossing the room and bending down to scoop Katie up.
Lana stirred. "She won't sleep in her room when you guys are gone." She said quietly.
"That's 'cause she's spoiled." Kozik said.
"And that's who's fault?" Lana grinned.
"Hap's."
Lana laughed. "Right. You had nothing to do with it."
"Daddy?" Katie's little voice mumbled into his chest.
"Right here, baby. I'm gonna take you to bed now. Say goodnight to your mama." He whispered.
"Can I sleep with you?" She asked, opening her big blue eyes.
"No, Katie. You have to be a big girl." He headed down the hall and into the little girl's room. Pulling back the covers, he set her on the bed and tucked her in. "See you tomorrow, baby girl."
"Night daddy." She said, a small pout still on her face for not getting her way. She had a temper and was notorious for tantrums, but she was tired and she knew Happy would be in to say goodnight next and he was her best chance.
Sure enough, the gruff biker came into her room moments later and knelt down beside her bed. He brushed her blonde curls away from her face. "You gotta go to sleep, angel." He knew she was trying as hard as she could to stay awake.
The little girl sat up and hugged him. "Can I sleep with you, daddy?" She wasted no time asking.
Kozik had warned him she would ask and he thought he'd been fully prepared to say no, but her sweet little voice nearly did him in. "Katie, you gotta stay in your own bed."
"But I missed you, daddy." She said, pulling back so he could see her little lip quiver.
"Katieā¦" He warned, but they both knew his words were empty.
