"Sure Kagome I'll be right back." Rushing off to her friend's room she bumped into Sesshomaru in deep thought. "I'm so sorry Lord Sesshomaru, I was just on my way to get Kagome's bag for her. She told him as she bowed once more and went in and got Kagome's bag and hurried back to Kagome.

"So, she's leaving then?" He asked himself out loud.

Sango stormed into Kagome's room in the infirmary. I need to find a way to Kagome alone, Sango thought to herself. Setting the bag down next to Kagome, Kagome grabbed it up and opened it. She watched as Kagome dug through her bag until she found what she was looking for, her mirror. Why would Kagome want to look at herself surely she didn't think that she looked that bad. She studied Kagome's expressions and didn't like where it was going.

"Kagome, I need to talk to you…"Sango started to say.

"Actually, Sango I'd rather not right now if that's okay. "She mumbled.

"Umm, sure Kagome, but can we talk later? It's kind of important." She pleaded with her friend.

"Yeah, could you guys leave I wanna try to get some sleep." She lied. Hoping that her friends would either believe her or get the hint that she wanted to be alone. Watching as Miroku, Sango, and lastly Inuyasha stood up to leave. As Inuyasha turned to look at Kagome and as if he wanted to say something but for once let it be and just nodded at her. That left Lord Hikaru in the room with Kagome.

"Why are you still here? Didn't I make it quite clear I wanted to be left alone?" She stunned him, she could tell that he wasn't used to being spoke to in such a manner.

"My dear Kagome, I find myself in a predicament." He spoke as if he was actually speechless which she knew by now that this man was anything but.

"Okay, what's up with you?" She asked a little annoyed.

"Well I don't know how to put this so I feel I must warn you it is quite a shock for me as well…" He paused to see how she was reacting to him so far.

"Will you please just tell what is wrong." Kagome demanded.

"But of course Lady Kagome, I must tell you that my heart longs for you, you alone have captivated my attention, I adore you, and I've come to realize that I have fallen for you." He let go of the breath he was holding in and hoped that she didn't strike him where he stood.

"I, well, umm…" She wasn't sure how to tell this man that she already loved someone.

"Please, Kagome you don't have to answer me right now but I would like to court you." His sea green eyes bore into hers in hopes that it would transmit his feelings were nothing but true.

"I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm afraid I have to decline your offer. You see I already love someone, and I hope to become his mate." She spoke softly, as if it would make his hurting lessened.

"Who is this man? I will challenge him in the rights to become your mate." His pride taking over and his eyes turning entirely black; frightening Kagome in the process.

"It's Sesshomaru. Lord Hikaru, it's Sesshomaru I love him." She bit out afraid of his reaction.

Sensing that she was becoming frightened by him he calmed down and his eyes turned back to normal. He sat down next to Kagome, he held her hand and kissed the top. She started to say something but he covered her mouth with his if a fierce kiss that caused her to gasp. Kagome was unable to move from the fact that she was just beaten. She suddenly got mad and her spiritual powers burned him his arm had a mark where her hand gripped him.

Unluckily, Sesshomaru had returned to her room and saw Lord Hikaru kissing Kagome. His eyes bleeding red he raged and brought out his poison claws and slashed Hikaru's chest.

"Kill him. He kissed our mate!"

Sesshomaru was about to give in to what his beast wanted, but stopped when he her Kagome cry out in pain.

"Kagome! What's wrong?" He rushed to her side ignoring Hikaru's snickering.

"It, it hurts." She told him as she grabbed her head and fainted out of pain.
