What Not to do if You are a Knight by Gilbert Beilschmidt:
40.) Do not constantly threaten to tie up princesses and young maidens with rope.
Quick Reunion and Quick Departure
The other four teens stood huddled in the center of the hall, frozen in utter shock at the scene.
Antonio petted and razzled and snuggled the beast, cooing how happy he was to see it.
"WWWWHAT THE HECK!" Lovina exploded, forcing the happy, reunified duo, man and cow, to look up in surprise.
Lovina at once stormed up to the pair, but lost her nerve once she got close to the enormous bull.
Hesitantly, she took a step back. Antonio, however, smiled and stepped aside, allowing the bull to approach Lovina. It sniffed her hair.
"Hey! What's the big idea you- haha hey! C-cut that out! That tickles!"
The large, black ox licked her and wagged its tail like an over-sized puppy.
"¡Sí! Es una vaca muy sociable."
The bull snorted and turned to him suddenly.
"Sorry, un torro muy sociable. He's a very friendly bull."
The bull nodded and went back to nuzzling its newest friend.
It was just so big and happy and mindless.
Lovina giggled and continued to pet it. She shook her head at the uncanny personality resemblance between the two. "Stronzo, if you were a bull..."
While the two southerners and the bull made merry in the corner, Francis attempted to reseal the busted door.
"Dude!" Gilbert exploded. "Your psychotic pet COW followed you here? How did- why would- what the actual f***, man?!"
Antonio shrugged and continued to scratch behind the animal's ear. "He's good at finding me. I told you to wait with the battalion you little malo chico, you!" he cooed. "I guess the river's either low enough to swim or there's a point dry enough to walk across..."
They all froze and looked up at what Antonio just said.
Gilbert and Elizaveta had not moved from their position in the center of the room.
"You all know what this means, right?" Gilbert posed the question to the whole group.
No one gave any answer. They all avoided each other's gaze.
Gilbert continued. "Look, if that cow got here, it got across the river. And if it can get across the river, the army can get across the river. Which means we gotta move."
"N-"
"And I don't care what EXCUSES you two come up with," he silenced Elizaveta.
"I agree," Francis spoke up to everyone's surprise. "Whatever we are going to do, we have to do it now. I suggest leaving tomorrow, if possible."
"If we spend the day preparing, we can head out tomorrow night," Antonio supplied.
Lovina looked up worriedly. She and Elizaveta exchanged helpless glances, utterly clueless on what to do. What could they say? Where could they go? Time was out, and they were all out of ideas.
"Right," Gilbert said with finality. "Let's get some sleep so we're prepared for tomorrow. Francis, you can take first shift over the girls. Don't forget to tie them up."
"What? Again? Why?" Elizaveta protested.
"Both of us?!" Lovina cried.
Gilbert only gave his signature smile. "Well, we don't want you getting antsy on your last night here, now would we?"
