Thank you for your encouraging reviews. I really appreciate them all.

I definitely don't own Bones.

After she was invited into the Harris household, Brennan followed Morris Harris across the living room and then down the hallway. Stopping in front of the guest bedroom, Harris held up his hand and spoke quietly but intensely to her. "Booth did a dumb ass thing this afternoon. He had no business going over to the courthouse. He could have opened up his stitches or fell and hurt himself. It was just plain stupid what he did."

Nodding her head, Brennan agreed. "I concur. I plan to talk to him about it this evening. I didn't feel comfortable chastising him in public, so I decided to wait and talk to him this evening. There were too many reporters at the courthouse and I didn't want to do anything to humiliate him."

Disgusted that Booth had risked himself, the agent shook his head. "He thinks he's Superman or something. My wife is very upset that he just took off like that. She's talking about taking vacation time and staying home to make sure he stays put. I told her I'm going to talk to our housekeeper and see if her brother Sherman can come over here and baby sit the big dummy in the afternoon after Randy leaves. Sherman broke one of his hands so he's on workman's comp right now. He works as a brick layer and that requires both hands. Randy says he's bored out of his mind, so I'm sure it won't be hard to get him to come over here for a few hours each day. Someone needs to make sure Booth doesn't hurt himself while he's recovering. He's too independent for his own good."

Glancing at the closed door, Brennan considered what Harris had said. "I'm not sure Booth would appreciate you hiring someone to baby sit him. He is a grown man."

Harris shook his head and chuckled. "Don't worry about it. I'm just going to tell Booth that Sherman is here as a day nurse to help him if he needs it. Sherman is a big guy and even with one hand, he should be able to handle Booth."

Considering their options, Brennan nodded her head. "If you don't mind, I would be more than willing to pay for Sherman to come over here. Booth is my partner."

His hand up, Harris shook his head. "Nah, don't worry about it. Susan is a VP at the law firm where she works. She can afford to pay Sherman and if it comes down to it, she can take off for a few days if she wants to. No one will complain at the law firm, at least not to her face." Laughing, Harris puffed his chest out with pride. "They're scared shitless of her over there."

Placing her hand on the door knob, Brennan continued to speak softly. "I wish I could keep Booth at my apartment, but I'm involved in the Gravedigger trial right now and we had a case called in this afternoon. I can't take care of Booth and do my job. It's very important that the Gravedigger is convicted because of what she did."

Harris knew that Brennan really liked her partner and wanted to help him. Patting her on her back, Harris smiled. "Don't worry about it. When it's okay for him to be by himself then maybe he can move in with you. Right now, I don't trust him to be by himself. He needs to stay here until his breathing is better and he's not in pain."

Turning the doorknob, Brennan reached out and placed her hand on Harris' arm. "You are a very good friend, Agent Harris."

Pleased with her observation, Harris winked at her. "Damn right I am."

Closing the door behind her, Brennan walked over to the bed, leaned over and kissed Booth on the cheek.

Instantly awake, Booth turned to stare at Brennan. "Hi."

Shaking her head, Brennan sat down on the edge of the bed, facing her boyfriend. "Booth, what you did this afternoon was very dangerous. If you'd lost your balance and fallen the repercussions would have been quite severe. I understand why you did it, but it was very dangerous and you've upset quite a few people by your recklessness. I need you to promise me that you won't leave this house again unless it's too see your surgeon next week or of course if there is an emergency such as the house catching on fire."

Placing his hand on her hip, Booth realized that one of the ones upset with him was her. "Sure, I promise."

Suspicious, Brennan frowned. "Just like that? Why are you agreeing so readily? Normally you argue when I make suggestions like that."

Staring at his hand on her hip, Booth sighed. "I agree that it was reckless that's all . . . I make mistakes sometimes and I'm man enough to admit it when I do . . . No one is perfect especially me."

Her hand on his forehead, Brennan then felt the sides of his face. "Are you alright?"

Laughing quietly, Booth let his girlfriend move her hands over his cheeks. "Bones, I didn't hurt myself and I'm not running a fever . . . I just feel like hell that's all. I needed to be there for Hodgins because he has a short fuse . . . I knew that bitch would try to make him lose his temper and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen . . . Everyone else can usually keep a lid on their tempers. I don't need to go back to the Courthouse . . . I have a lot of faith that you and the rest of the squints will keep their emotions in check. We got this one in the bag, Bones . . . She isn't going to walk away from what she did."

His words encouraging, Brennan moved her hands to his chest and rested them lightly below his bandaged wound. "I wish you were well enough to attend the trial. I know you want to be there when she's convicted."

Sighing, Booth shrugged his shoulder and instantly regretted it. Hissing, he felt the blood run from his face. Brennan seeing her partner turn pale, placed her hands on his arms, "Booth, you need to relax and keep your movements to a minimum. You are paying for what you did this afternoon."

The pain a grim reminder that he was far from well, Booth nodded his head. "Yeah, I know. . . . Um, how'd you like to lie down next to me and talk to me? . . . It's a queen size bed and there's plenty of room." Giving her his patented soulful puppy dog look, he continued, "I could use the company and it's boring just lying here . . . You could tell me about the trial and I promise to behave."

Nodding her head, Brennan smiled at him. "Well, I guess it won't hurt anything. It's not like we can move around the bases."

Curious, Booth gave her an odd look. "Have you been researching colloquialisms? You're getting pretty good with the bases analogy."

Standing, Brennan removed her shoes and jacket and walked around the bed. Sliding onto the mattress, she moved so that she was close to Booth and turned to face him, "Actually I have. I'm getting quite good at it too."

Amused, Booth turned his head so that he could look into her blue eyes. "So, tell me what happened after I left the trial this afternoon."
