Thank you for your kind reviews.
I don't own Bones.
Oooooooooooooooooo
Sitting on the couch in the Harris guest bedroom, Booth smiled when Brennan entered the room. "Hey Bones. I thought you'd be here before now . . . I thought maybe you'd changed your mind about coming to see me."
After she entered the room, she closed the door behind her, walked over to the couch and sat down. Placing her purse on the floor, she smiled and handed Booth a bag. "I brought you something."
Surprised, Booth took the bag and opened it. Looking inside, he smiled and put his hand in the bag. Pulling out a DVD he studied the title. "No way, Space Cowboys. This is very cool, Bones. Thanks."
Pleased that he liked it, Brennan took the DVD from his hand. "I noticed the television in this room has a DVD player. I thought we might watch a movie tonight."
"Tell you what, let's lay down on the bed and watch it. We can snuggle." Crumpling the bag the DVD had come in, Booth placed it on the couch next to him.
Brennan smiled at the suggestion. "Alright, lay down and I'll set the DVD player up to play it."
Moving cautiously, Booth slowly stood up, holding his arm against his chest. Once he was standing next to the bed, he kicked off his shoes and laid down as carefully as possible. Brennan aware that Booth seemed to be in pain, set up the DVD and picked up the remote. Carrying it back to the bed, she kicked off her shoes and tried not to jostle her boyfriend as she laid down next to him.
Taking the remote from her hand, Booth aimed the remote and started the movie."This is a sweeet thing to do, Bones. Thanks."
The movie beginning, Booth placed his right arm around Brennan's shoulder, ignoring the pain radiating from his chest. Brennan, listening to Booth hissing quietly, glanced at the medicine bottles on his dresser. "Booth, when was the last time you took your pain medication?"
Glancing at Brennan, Booth sighed. "That stuff knocks me out. I'll wait until you go home and then I'll take it . . . I'm fine. Don't worry about it."
Brennan decided not to make an issue of it, so turned her gaze towards the television. "The prosecution rested today. Taffet will start her defense tomorrow."
His eyes on the TV, Booth asked her, "What's Caroline take on it so far?"
Moving a little closer to Booth to help him ease the tension in his arm and chest, Brennan answered him. "She says that Taffet doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. I actually know that saying and I believe she is correct."
Amused, Booth laughed. "Good. I wish I was going to be there, but that's the way it goes . . . Have you seen her witness list?"
"Yes, Caroline showed it to Cam and I. She has hired a forensic anthropologist. I'm going to assume he's going to try to refute our evidence." Careful not to mention the expert's name, Brennan was grateful when Booth didn't ask any more questions about the trial.
Ooooooooooooooooooo
The movie finished, Brennan unloaded the DVD and returned to the bed. Moving on the bed so that she was laying on her side, Brennan placed her hand on Booth chest below where she knew he'd been shot. "Booth, as soon as the trial is over, I would like you to move to my apartment."
Rubbing the top of her hand, Booth frowned. "I don't want to be a burden Bones. I was thinking about moving back to my apartment."
She knew he was a proud man, but she needed him to do what she'd asked. "No, Booth. Not this time. You had very serious injuries and you need to be monitored. I plan to take some vacation time after the trial. I think I need the down time and I thought you could be with me while I'm on vacation. I know it won't seem like much of a vacation since we won't actually be going anywhere, but I thought we could use the opportunity to explore our relationship further."
Smiling at the thought of staying with her, Booth's eyes twinkled. "Well, you may not know it, but some of the best vacations are spent at home . . . They even have a name for them, staycations."
"So you wouldn't mind just staying with me, at my apartment while I'm on vacation?" Staring intently at Booth, Brennan tried to make sure she understood his reaction to her question.
Squeezing her hand, Booth smiled to ease her anxiety. "Mind? Why would I mind? Like you said, we can work on our relationship . . . Sounds good to me."
Pleased that he was giving in, Brennan leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Good. I just wanted to make sure. I'm not sure how much longer the trial will last, but Caroline thinks it should finish up next week. Tomorrow is Friday and Caroline has already informed me that the judge will not continue the trial through the weekend. He's going to call a recess tomorrow afternoon and resume the trial Monday morning."
Leaning towards her, Booth kissed her softly on the lips. "Good, maybe you can come visit me sometime this weekend. I mean . . . I know you have stuff to do so you can't hang out with me all day and that's fine, but . . . maybe you could come over Sunday and we can watch another movie or something."
Her hand on his face, Brennan returned his kiss. Pressing her lips harder against his, she let him know that she enjoyed the moment. Separating, she pulled back. "Your kisses are quite good, Booth. You're an excellent kisser."
Grinning, Booth leaned towards his girlfriend and captured her lips again. The tempo of their kisses increasing, they were both startled when a knock was heard on the bedroom door. Opening the door with his left hand across his eyes, Harris stepped into the room. "Dr. Brennan, Susan wanted to know if you plan on staying the evening. She has a gown you can borrow if you want to stay."
Irritated, Booth growled at his friend. "Why the hell do you have your hand over your eyes?"
Peeking through his fingers, Harris laughed. "I didn't want to embarrass anyone if you two were um . . . well, sans vetements, so to speak."
His irritation growing, Booth glared at the man. "What the hell does that mean?"
Translating, Brennan frowned at Harris. "He wasn't sure if we had our clothes on."
Booth was not amused in the least. "Ha ha, very funny, asshole."
Moving off the bed, Brennan glanced at her watch. "It's after ten. I have to be at court in the morning at eight. Call me in the morning, when you get up, Booth." Walking around the bed, she leaned over and kissed him. "Don't forget to take your pain medicine." Putting her shoes on and picking up her purse, she smiled and left the room.
As soon as Brennan was out of the door, Booth turned his angry gaze upon Harris. "Thanks a lot."
Grinning, Harris saluted Booth. "At your service." Chuckling, he shook his head and walked back into the hallway, closing the door behind him.
