Thank you for your continued interest in my story. The reviews have been very kind.

I definitely don't own Bones.

Ooooooooooooooooooooo

Asleep on the couch, Booth had tried to stay awake during the closing arguments of the trial, but he'd been unable to keep his eyes open. Sherman, fascinated with the sensational parts of the trial, had watched it through the closing arguments. Once the trial had ended and the jurors had been given instructions by the judge, the brick layer had changed the channel and watched an old movie he found on AMC.

The movie almost over, Sherman was entering the kitchen for a drink when he heard a phone ring. Hurrying back into the living room, he noticed that Booth was still asleep. To let the agent continue to sleep, he grabbed the agent's phone off of the coffee table and answered it. "Agent Seeley Booth's phone."

Surprised at the strange voice, Brennan hesitated then spoke. "This is Dr. Temperance Brennan . . . Is Booth alright?"

Since he didn't want to disturb the agent, Sherman walked back into the kitchen, opened the fridge and pulled out a cold beer. "Oh sure. He's okay. He's sleeping. His therapist was here for a while and then we watched the trial, but Seeley fell asleep. I can wake him if you want me to, but . . ."

Brennan watched Hodgins pacing up and down the hallway outside the courtroom. "No, don't do that. When he awakens, tell him I called and that I plan to stay at the courthouse just in case the jury hands down a verdict this afternoon."

Staring at his beer, Sherman nodded his head. "Sure, I'll tell him . . . I hope they want to fry that bitch. God she's an awful person."

Sighing, Brennan replied, "I agree."

The call ended, Sherman placed the phone on the counter and held the can against his chest to pull the tab open. Drinking some of the beer, he sighed. "I'd fry that bitch if I was on the jury."

Oooooooooooooooo

After waking up once to get a drink, Booth moved into his bedroom and went back to sleep. Sleeping all afternoon, Booth was finally awakened when his hosts came home. Sherman was alone in the living room and had the news on, watching the top headlines when the announcer mentioned that the jury had come back with a verdict for the Gravedigger. Calling out, Sherman stood up and threw his left fist in the air. "Hey, the Gravedigger was found guilty. . . . You hear that, that bitch was found guilty."

Booth woke up when Sherman shouted and as soon as he could, he entered the living room and watched the news report about the trial. Satisfied, he smiled. "Thank God. Bones and Hodgins got justice. I wanted Taffet to pay for what she did to them as well as the rest of her victims."

Standing next to Booth, Susan placed her hand on his arm. "Seeley, this was justice for you too."

He didn't really see it that way and shrugged his shoulders, immediately regretting it. "I don't need justice for what she did to me. I'm a soldier and a Federal Agent and they pay me to take risks like that. Bones and Hodgins are scientists. They . . . This trial was for them and the other victims of the Gravedigger. I wasn't a victim."

Hugging him, Susan felt a tear slide down her face. "Seeley, this trial was for you too. You needed justice more than everyone else. You don't get the recognition that you should and this trial . . . This was justice for you too."

His left arm around her waist, Booth smiled. "Thanks Susan. Thanks for taking care of me. You and Morris. I'm tired and I'm going to go lay down for awhile. Let me know if Bones comes to see me."

Watching him leave the room, Susan walked over to where her husband was standing. "I wish he would think more about himself sometimes."

Harris knew Susan loved Booth like a brother and had been terrified when he'd been kidnapped and almost killed by the Gravedigger. His arms around her, he hugged his wife. "He's Booth. I don't think he knows how."

Oooooooooooooooooooooooo

Entering the guest bedroom, Brennan found Booth lying on the bed, his eyes closed and his breathing quiet and steady. Turning, she locked the door, placed her jacket and purse on the couch and moved quietly around the bed. Staring at Booth for a few moments, she noticed that his breathing seemed better than it was the day before. She removed her shoes and carefully slid onto the bed, sliding across the mattress, she rolled onto her side and placed her hand on his chest. Surprised that he hadn't awakened, she studied his face and saw the fine lines on his forehead.

Relaxing, she closed her eyes and listened to his quiet even breathing.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooo

His lips softly kissing her, Brennan opened her eyes and smiled at her boyfriend. Returning his kiss, she moved her hand to the side of his face and pressed her lips harder aginst his lips. Finally separating, Booth smiled. "Hey there sleepy head. How long have you been here?"

Not sure, Brennan looked over at the clock on the wall. "Three hours. I didn't realize I was tired until I laid down next to you. That was a nice nap."

Nodding his head, Booth kissed her again. "I'll say. It's really nice to wake up next to a beautiful woman."

Pleased that he looked so much better, Brennan kissed him once more. "The trial is over Booth. I want to move you over to my apartment tonight. Are you ready to go or would you like to stay here one more night?"

Shaking his head, Booth struggled to sit up. Releasing him, Brennan moved away and watched him move to the side of the bed. "You bet I'm ready to leave here, Bones. Just give me a minute to . . . catch my breath."

Ready to take him hom, Brennan rolled off of the bed and moved towards the dresser. "You sit there. I'm going to pack the your bag and once that's done, we'll leave."

Nodding his head, Booth moved his shoes over to where he was sitting with his feet and slid them on. Glancing around for his jacket, he saw it hanging by the collar on the closet doorknob. Watching Brennan remove his clothes from the dresser, he cleared his throat. "Are you sure you want me at your place? You can take me home. I'll be okay there. I don't want to be a burden."

"You aren't a burden, Booth." Brennan picked up his now filled bad and grabbed his jacket from the doorknob. Moving over to the bed, she noticed that he now had his shoes on. Motioning for him to stand, Brennan helped him put his jacket on. Her hand on his arm, she pulled him to the door. Unlocking it, she opened it. "Walk in front of me, Booth. You set the pace and I'll follow. Stop when you need to."

Kissing her as he walked by her, Booth smiled at her. "Yes ma'am."

When Booth and Brennan entered the living room, Susan stood up and waited for Booth to come nearer.

Grateful for Susan and Harris' kindness, Booth smiling at Susan and pointed at the floor. "You can put your rug back down on the floor. I'm sorry that Sherman went a little overboard."

Amused, Susan laughed, stepped closer and placed her hand on his arm. "So you're leaving us."

Booth nodded his head and glanced at Harris and then back at Susan. "Thanks for taking good care of me. I really appreciate you letting me stay here. You guys are great friends."

Hugging him gingerly, Susan stood back and glanced at her husband. "We were happy to have you here Seeley." Snapping her fingers, Susan frowned. "Oh my, you haven't had dinner yet. Would you like me to make you and Temperance a plate of food to take with you? It will only take a minute."

Anxious to leave and get Booth hom, Brennan shook her head. "That won't be necessary. Thank you for the offer though."

Standing near the front door, Harris held it open for the couple. "You need any help, you call me. I can be over at Dr. Brennan's apartment in twenty minutes. Fifteen if it's an emergency."

Booth walked over to the door and smiled at his friend. "I'll be fine . . . Thanks for letting me stay here."

Patting Booth softly on the shoulder, Harris glanced atBrennan and then back at Booth. "Just so you know, you're a royal pain in the ass and a terrible patient, but that's okay. Susan is a lot worse when she's sick, so it wasn't anything new."

"Hey." Placing her hands on her hips, Susan growled at her husband. "Just who had to be rushed to Emergency last year when they got a small cut on their thumb?"

Turning to look at his wife, Harris protested. "A Small cut? Are you serious? The damn thing was pumping my blood out."

Unable to stop herself, Susan laughed at his protest. "It was oozing out, Morris, oozing."

Rolling his eyes, Booth walked outside, Brennan following him. As she neared her car, Brennan stopped and turned to watched Harris close the door, protesting to his wife. "Are they angry with each other?"

Not concerned for his friends, Booth shook his head. "Nah, they're just playing around. Those two love to bicker. I'm glad we get along better than they do."
