-SAM-

Sam stared, in complete shock, out of the shattered window. Ruby was raging over how Dean had almost killed her while Luc argued back that nothing had even touched her. All Sam wondered was if this was why Dean had kept away from him all these years.

"Sam?..." Balthazar's quiet calm voice asked walking up beside Sam, "Did you know?"

Sam blinked hard bringing him back to reality, "No. Dean always kept away from me… I can understand now. I wonder if he can control these things." He pointed to one of the hundreds of Snow Angels now covering the city, a small blizzard whirling though the town.

"We could try to get rid of them you know," Ruby said walking over to the two men still looking considerably angry, "Save the whole town and seen as a hero."

"I wouldn't recommend touching them. They regenerate." Luc spoke up

"How long did you know?" Sam asked turning his attention to Luc.

With a pained look Luc responded, "I knew before I took the job. My job was to help around the house occasionally but for the most part, to help Dean keep control himself. As you know my role changed after your parents died then dramatically after…" Sam nodded knowing he was going to refer to them being together.

"How much do you know?" Sam asked crossing his arms feeling a pang of pain in his chest when Luc could no longer keep eye contact.

"All I know is Dean controls them for the most part. As you can see, the ones outside are snow angels. He has a few others he creates but not many. The only ones you need to be worried about are the darker elemental ones or Red eyes. They are body guards." Luc explained turning his eyes to Balthazar.

"Alright., I'm leaning Prince Balthazar in charge and Luc help him out. You know how this castle is run better than almost anyone." Sam explained buttoning up his jacket.

"Wait Sam… I can't let you go out there by yourself. What if Dean hurts you?" Balthazar had him held by his upper arm.
"Dean is my brother, he would never hurt me. We are all we have left." Sam said confidently smiling at the man he knew he would eventually be marrying.

"Take my car, and be safe." Balthazar said letting Sam's arm go.

Kissing him swiftly, Sam took off out of the room and was soon scrunched in Balthazar's 2002 Mustang headed off towards the forest and where Dean's Angels had taken him. After three hours of Sam yelling out the window for Dean, Sam pulled the car to the side and to a stop.

"God damn it!" Sam yelled hoarsely looking up the icy and wet rode then down at the summer muscle car that had the wrong tired and no chains. He knew if he went any further in this car he would end up killing himself before he found Dean.

So taking off on foot Sam walked into the forest yelling for Dean until he slipped and tumbled down a hill in the snow. "FUCK!" Sam screamed standing up and pulling small rocks out of his now torn up hands, and he now stood in waist high snow. Shivering from head to toe, Sam continued to push through the cold snow.

"You have to be fucking kidding me." Sam growled in frustration as he came up to a small frozen lake and right across it looked like a small shop with smoke clouds puffing out from the chimney. "Fire!" Sam exclaimed and without thinking he ran out across the small lake. Half way through the ice gave in, and Sam fell in. He had never felt so cold in his life, every inch of his body hurt. With the last bit of concentration he had, Sam shot to the surface gasping for air. He pulled himself out of the lake and forced himself to walk in to the warm shop.

As soon as he opened the door, the warmth greeted him like a hug. "Hello. How are you sir?" the cashier asked a warm smile on his round face.

"Freezing." Sam replied closing the door behind him and forcing a smile over his chattering teeth.

"Oh… Well we have 50% off all summer merchandise and I also have a sun balm that can help keep you protected against the sun burn from the snow." The cashier replied chipper as ever.

"Nice…. But I'm not looking for that, do you perhaps have snow boots, and warm clothes?"' He asked pulling his sop socking wallet out of his back pocket.

For the first time the man's smile fell slightly, "that would be in our winter department and as you can see we don't have much left considering we are in the middle of summer and all."

"That's fine, I can pay any price." Sam replied walking over to the "winter department" that consisted of four jackets, two pairs of boots, a pair of black snow pants that looked like would hug him uncomfortably everywhere, six giant bags of rock salt and two iron snow shovels. Groaning Sam grabbed a jacket, a pair of boots and the pants.

"Just these." Sam said smiling to the cashier holding out his credit card.

"Of Course sir." The Cashier took his card when the door opened and two people walked in covered in head to toe in show. The slightly smaller one pulled his mask away from his face and popped a red sucker in his mouth his golden brown eyes meeting Sam while the other took off her beanie, her curly red hair falling around her shoulder blades a huge smile on her face.

"Go get the Rock Salt Char." The smaller man said around his sucker, walking up to the counter.

The girl named Char grabbed four bags of the salt and hauled it up to the counter, "Next time you get the hard stuff you ass." The girl joked to the small man who had grabbed an ice pick and a huge amount of rope.

"That will be $30." The cashier said looking quickly over their items. Sam didn't even mind being after them, he would prefer staying in here a bit longer.

"$30!" the little man exclaimed pulling his sucker out of his mouth, "all this was $10 last week. That's all I got."

"Gabe it's not that big of a deal. We can deal without the salt." Char said quietly reaching forward to pick the salt up from the table.

Gabe waved her arms away, "We will never be able to make it past North Mountain without this. The snow is too thick and cold. Now let me deal with this crook." He turned to look at the cashier who now looked incredibly angry.

"What did you call me?" the round faced man stood up, he was taller than Sam and looked like he could stop a speeding bus. The cashier grabbed Gabe by the back of his cloths, flung open the door, and threw him out face first into the snow then turned his angry eyes to Char.

"I'm so sorry." She mumbled and scurried out of the door. Slamming the door behind her the cashier went back behind his desk and plopped down on his chair, a warm smile filling his face again.

"Sorry for that violence, I try to keep it out of my shop. So the boots, pants and jacket all?" The Cashier asked.

Biting his lip Sam looked down at all the items on the table, "No ill take all of it."
