"That's the issue dear?" She asked, her hands resting on her hips, a slightly annoyed look on her face, "Why are you not interested in our Gabe?" She walked in a slow circle around Sam again. "Is it how he walks, talks, maybe how he eats?"
"There is nothing wrong with any of that!" Gabriel said throwing his arms up in the air out of frustration.
"No that's not it at all." Sam started to explain but was interrupted by Gabriel's mom again.
"The weird shape of his feet?" She reached down and yanked Gabriel's foot up into the air as if she was going to inspect them herself.
"Even though he takes a shower every other day, he always ends up kind of smelly." Meg said her brown eyes bright. She took a few steps away from Charlie and was walking closer to Gabriel and Sam. "But then again his smelliness doesn't matter cause he is so sensitive and sweet." She giggled. Pushing Gabriel one step closer to Sam.
"That's nice but," Sam started again feeling his face flush slightly.
"Yeah he is a bit of a fixer upper. He defiantly has a few flaws." Meg continued slipping in-between the small amount of space that separated them, and then shoving Gabriel to the left, "Like his attachment to his sister. How close they are together."
"We were the only constant in each other's life! And this isn't about me!" Gabriel grumbled pulling out of Meg's arms.
"But he is fixable with a little bit of love!" Gabriel's mom added a soft smile on her lips that seemed to be died purple.
"ummm." Sam said feeling embarrassed, and saw Cas out of the corner of his eye dancing with the pixie that had been so excited about her wings finally coming in.
"Can we please stop talking about this!" Gabe exclaimed, "We have an actual problem here!"
"I'll say. Does he always back away from you? Or that he can be socially shy?" Gabriel's mom asked.
"Are you holding back your feelings because of his unmanly blondeness?" A male pixie asked his hair bright blue and purple. Sam couldn't help but laugh as Gabe was dragged further away.
"You know the best way to fix him is to fix him up with you." Gabriel's mom said leading Sam to the right.
"Stop it! Stop it! ENOUGH!" Sam heard Gabriel yell, "He is engaged to another man! Okay!" Gabriel's mom laughed.
"What's so funny?" Sam asked looking down at the woman who was holding his arm.
"You're engagement is a flexible arrangement." She answered simply
"How could you say that?" Sam asked almost in shock.
"I don't see a ring." She replied a huge smile now on her purple lips.
"What does a ring have to do with that fact?" Sam asked as few women walked towards them holding what looked like a cape made of moss and a crown made of tree bark.
"I'm not saying you can change him, cause people never really change. I'm only saying love is something powerful and strange." She took both of Sam's hands in hers as the women draped the blanket over his shoulders and lightly placed the crown on his head.
"Sam, people make stupid decisions when they are mad or scared or stressed," Charlie said coming into view, "But throw some love their way and it brings out the best in them." She took Sam's hands from Gabriel's mom and lead him slowly forward again. Sam saw Gabriel now. He wore a cape like Sam's but instead of the cape being made of moss, it was made of a very colorful almost fluid like cloth. It started out almost a deep blue near Gabriel's neck and slowly changed from blue to a deep purple to a soft pink to an orange that ended with the same moss color that Sam wore on the end that feathered out onto the floor. His wood crown was slightly larger than Sam's. When Gabriel's gold eyes landed on Sam, an involuntary smile spread over his face. Charlie put Sam's hands into Gabriel's.
"You both need each other to round the other out," Gabriel's mom said waiving her hand making lily's erupt from the floor and form an arch way around Gabriel and Sam, "Now do you Sam take Gabe to be your true fully and lawfully wedded husband?"
"Wait what?" Sam gasped stepping towards Gabriel's mom, his hands slipping from Gabriel's and felt his wood crown slide off his head.
"You're getting married." Meg said a smile on her red lips. Sam's heart picked up speed and in a second Sam knew it wasn't because of the shock of being married. A bolt of pain shot through him making him clutch at his chest and pant in pain.
"Sam!" Gabriel exclaimed wrapping his arms around Sam, "You hair…it's still changing. And I feel like I'm holding a fire." Sam could barely stand on his feet anymore. He leaned against Gabriel, hardly keeping his eyes open. Suddenly a small light fluttered towards them from a tall tree. The man touched the ground a light shooting up around him.
"Enrock?" Sam asked blearily, looking at the Pixie that had just appeared.
"How do you know my grandpa?" Gabe asked.
"He was in my dream." Sam replied feeling a chill blast though his whole body.
"There is dark magic here." Enrock said walking closer to them two. "Bring him closer Gabe." And Gabriel did. With a surprising amount of strength Sam hadn't expected from the small man, he swept Sam up into his arms and carried him the rest of the way to Enrock. Enrock reached forward and places his hand on Sam's chest. "Sam your life is in danger. There is dark magic encircling your heart put there by your brother. If it is not removed it will continue to force all the heat to leave your body, and after it leaves….your body will become ice. It will spread from your fingers and toes almost like frost bite. The only difference is it won't leave black and rotting flesh behind. Your whole body will turn to ice forever."
Sam heard Gabriel gulp, "What, no…." Sam felt like he may be sick.
"But you can take it away right?" Gabriel's voice sounded desperate.
"I can't. Only an act of true love can remove evil magic." Enrock replied sounding sad.
Gabriel held Sam closer to his chest, "A true loves kiss perhaps?" Meg asked sounding optimistic and leaned sideways and kissed Charlie lightly.
Sam felt another bolt of pain rip through him and had to fight to not squirm so Gabriel wouldn't drop him, "Sam we have to get you back to Balthazar." Sam nodded weakly in agreement keeping his eyes closed not waiting to fell another jolt of pain like that again. He leaned his head against Gabriel's shoulder. "Castiel, Charlie lets go." Gabriel said sliding onto Sphen's back.
"I'll follow." Castiel replied stretching his wings out and Charlie clambered on behind Gabriel and Sam. "Let's go get him to kiss Balthazar…who is Balthazar? I don't seem to get that reference." And he flew up into the air as Sphen took off back into the forest.
-DEAN-
Dean was back outside but on the first floor. He paced between his snow angels but would try to not get to close considering every time he did one of them would start a mini blizzard. As he made what felt like the umpteenth pass he heard them. Turning to his left he saw them coming. There were six of them Ruby and Balthazar at the front, two castle guards behind them and two of Ruby's henchmen Dean supposed. Not wanting to wait for them to see him he hurried back into his cottage. Right before he closed his door he heard Balthazar say, "We are here to find Prince Sam, be on guard. But no harm and I mean NO HARM is to come to the king." A few seconds later Dean heard them fighting with Gadreel out front but he didn't seem to stop them long. Ruby and her two guards burst into the cabin bows and arrows pointed directly at him. Fear streaked through Dean as he tore through the house hearing the three of them close on his tail. He came to a stop at the same landing he had fought with Sam on.
"Cornered." Ruby taunted staying by the mouth of the steps but letting her two men pass by her.
"No please," Dean said raising his arms in hopes they would see it as a sign that he meant no harm. As the words left his mouth the man on the left shot an arrow at him. With a gasp, and a tiny explosion, a fire angel appeared stopping the arrow a few inches in front of Dean.
"Go around." The one to the right called circling to Dean's right.
"Please stay away." Dean begged the fire angel launching a fire ball at them that they quickly dodged. They kept firing at Dean which made him create another angel this time a snow one. And they kept up this dance for a few minutes and the small glances he got of Ruby she had a smug smile on her face.
"STOP!" Dean screamed rage boiling in the pit of his stomach now as he rolled across the floor away from another arrow. He focused his attention to his ice angel and directed it to grabbing one of the men. It grabbed the one on the one on the right around the neck and slammed him against the wall. The other hand held his reloading arm against the wall. Now only having to worry about the man on the left, he had the fire angel shoot a fire ball at his weapon. The man dropped it in horror as it rapidly caught on fire. With an over excessive shove with his hand; the fire angel tackled the only man left standing. His head hit the floor so hard Dean was surprised he was able to keep his eyes open. Another surge of anger burst through him. They had tried to kill him for no reason. He hadn't hurt anyone. He saw the fire angel shift its weight onto the nearly unconscious man's chest. They thought he was a monster, he would show them monster. The angels hand caught on fire, burning a bright blue. It lowered closer to the man's face; Dean could even see how scared he was the closer the heat got to his face.
"King Dean!" Dean heard a voice yell from behind him, it sounded so far away almost down a tunnel. But the angel stopped inches from the man's face.
Dean turned his eyes almost blindly behind him to see who was talking to him. It was the man that Sam seemed to think he loved. Dean took a deep breath fighting the urge to have the fire angel plunge his fire filled hand onto the man's face below its body, "Don't be the monster they fear you to be. Prove to them that you aren't who they think you are."
Suddenly in a puff of smoke both angels disappeared and Dean swallowed hard, "They had no right to attack me." Dean heard his voice it sounded far away just like Balthazar's did.
"I know they didn't. Ruby claims she had no clue they were up here with you." Balthazar continued taking tentative steps towards Dean, his hand reaching out, his sword still hanging at his hip.
Dean frowned, "That's a….thats." suddenly the world began to spin. Dean stumbled sideways trying to make the world stand right.
"Dean?" was the last thing Dean heard Balthazar say before the ground came up to meet him, and the world went peacefully black.
