A/N: All right, Bucky won out! Thankfully, because Elsa would have been a pain, tbh. So, without further ado, I give you: The Winter Soldier!

P.S.: Only five reviews away from 200. I'm seriously soooo grateful and excited right now it's ridiculous. XD

The first time he saw the man with the metal arm, Jack was fascinated. It was on a snowy mountaintop somewhere - Jack wasn't big with geography at that point and borders were always changing anyways - and only the glint of the metal and a spot of darkness let him know there was something strange below him. He landed next to the man, bare feet light on the snow.

"That is a big gun." He commented, not expecting the man to hear him, very few did, and a random guy on a mountaintop was highly unlikely. And there wasn't even a flinch from the man, so Jack leaned closer, inspecting the rifle.

He really wasn't expecting the knife that came straight at his face.

"Whoa! What the hell, you just randomly wave around knives?" He yelled, scrambling backwards. That was just weird, and he was about to fly away when the man did something unexpected. He glanced at him, right at him, then looked back through the scope of the rifle and now Jack could see the outline of a truck plowing through the snow.

"Shut up." The man growled and Jack gaped at him, surprised enough that he hardly flinched when the rifle rang out, didn't even notice the truck screeching to a halt in the middle of a snowbank.

"Did you just talk to me?" He demanded, watching as the dark-haired man started folding the rifle into a case.

"Yes." He didn't look at him again, and Jack moved to stand in front of him, peering into dark eyes. This was strange, and he didn't know that he even wanted someone like this believing in him. He was dark and apparently killed people and it was just weird.

"Do you know who I am?" He asked softly.

"Jack Frost." The man slung the case over his shoulder, then paused, frowned, the first sign of emotion that Jack had seen. "I-I don't know how… But I do."

Jack's answer was cut off by the whirl of helicopter blades and a flash of fear in the man's eyes.

"Leave." He said, voice urgent. Jack opened his mouth, then shut it before giving a nod and taking off. He didn't want to know what had put that fear in the man's eyes.

He did his research though, he was curious now. And it wasn't too hard to find out who the man was, where he was going to be. And Jack kept visiting him, still curious with the mystery. He was actually surprised when the man saw him every time, but never seemed to remember their last meeting. It was like his memory was gone, or being taken, but Jack got used to it pretty quickly. He even got used to the fact that the man was untalkative to the point of being painful, so Jack just talked while he hung around the guy. Told him about snowballs and freezing out Easter and Sandman's dreams and flying with the wind and the places he'd seen. He was pretty sure the man was listening, but it didn't matter if he didn't.

Because he knew, the first time he heard the phrase "Winter Soldier" in relation to the man that he'd said something about seeing Jack Frost. Why else would they call him that?

But with the Soldier's penchant for turning up in odd places, it was really only mildly surprising when Jack dropped in at the Tower to see him there. Of course, it was also somewhat concerning, since generally when he saw the man, he was there to kill someone. Or possibly topple a government.

Either way, Jack wasn't sure how to feel about him being near the Avengers, and his fingers tightened around his staff before he relaxed. It would be fine. These people were adults, they could take care of themselves, so he gave a grin and perched on the back of the couch the dark-haired man was sitting on.

"What's up, Winter?" He'd shortened the nickname after the first few times of meeting him, it was far too difficult to say all of it. And at least Winter sounded like a name instead of a title. The man looked up and gave the barest of smiles.

"Jack Frost." He greeted mildly, nodding. Jack ignored the stunned silence that had fallen over the rest of the group, deciding that any danger was nil, and settled on the couch, sprawling a bit.

"So what are we watching?"
