A/N: Remember how I was gonna write a scene with Jack getting trapped in the lab? Well, here ya go! I finally got around to it.
Jack whistled idly as he wandered through the Tower. He was bored, and Jamie and his friends were in school, so he didn't have anyone to play with at the moment. Even Loki was gone, something about elves or dwarves and more powerful weaponry. He'd tuned out in the third sentence, if he was honest. And the Guardians were always busy, far too busy to entertain him. So he was in the Tower, had decided that maybe Bucky and Steve would want to watch a movie. Or he'd be able to bug Tony a bit. That was always fun.
Now he just had to find someone. But it seemed as though they had all disappeared.
He kept whistling as he peered down the stairs that led to the lab, wondering if he dared go down them. Tony had been attempting to get him down there since they met, and he was what felt was understandably cautious about the idea. He didn't want to get tested and told that his magic was some sort of scientific thing. What was the fun in that? Magic was supposed to be mystery and never knowing what happened next. Not dull equations and calculations. No, he was more of a recess than a science class kind of guy.
He considered his options carefully before giving a shrug and starting down the stairs. What was the worst that could happen? The bottom step lead to a clear glass door, a shining metal lab behind it. Jack stared through the door curiously, wondering what the machined were for. They were weird, he could see that much.
"Hey, Frosty!" Jack jumped at the sudden yell and turned to see Tony coming down the stairs, Bucky in town. The latter had a put upon expression on his face, like he was being forced into this.
"Tony." Jack greeted, edging away from the door. Not fast enough though, apparently Tony was speedier than he looked, even with Bucky in tow, and the other man's hand closed around Jack's wrist.
"C'mon, I've got both of you with me now. You will not escape!" Jack was fairly certain that the dramatic cackle that Tony gave was just for dramatic effect. Unless he really was a mad scientist, something Jack was considering.
"Did you know you have weird DNA?" Tony was glued to a monitor with weird data running across it, and Jack was seated on one of the metal tables, staff clutched in one hand. He'd refused to let it go, not wanting to give up the source of his powers for a second.
"Do I care?" He asked curiously. Bucky had escaped after the questions about a new metal body had started, abandoning Jack.
"You should. It's like...weird." Tony described and Jack raised an eyebrow, idly tapping his staff against the nearest table and grinning when it froze over. Revenge was sweet, and he was considering freezing the floor next when one of the machines started beeping.
"Wasn't me!" Jack protested, immediately pulling his staff back to his side and assuming an innocent look. Tony checked the machine and looked back with a slightly manic look.
"Yes it was! Do that again. Freeze something." He ordered. Jack stared at him a moment before freezing the floor. Tony immediately fell with a groan.
"Okay. Next time don't freeze what I'm standing on." He ordered, pulling himself up as the machine kept beeping.
"Dude! Every time you freeze something it's like this tiny storm. Like, you control the storm so that it just freezes what you want it to." He chattered excitedly. Jack nodded as he slowly lowered himself off the table, floating slightly above it to keep from falling or Tony from hearing him. He kept going, slowly slid the door open under the cover of Tony's continued babbling. After that, he sped up the stairs, swearing to never return.
