I am back! Somewhat! I had writers block again... *cringe* Plus, I'm doing a writing competition at my school, and I'm working on a story collab... I'm just really busy, okay? But I did eventually write this, luckily. Plus, I've been getting into a new fandom (Hetalia!) and it's been kind of a binge watching thing... Don't worry, I'm still extremely obsessed with Doctor Who, but you know, got to have variety and stuff. Anyways, this chapter was made during the day, so it's not as crazy. I'm still insanely mean to my OC, but you know, it's kind of what they're for anyways?
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter, even if it is kind of short!
(Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who! I only own my OC, Phoenix!)
Phoenix grimaced as she was tossed around the shuttle, hitting the seats and shuttle walls. The drumming seemed to get louder and louder every hit, making the experience almost unbearable.
But then, it abruptly stopped. Phoenix breathed heavily as she lay on the floor, the drums pounding against her skull. Her one thought was to just stay like that forever, possibly escape reality or something like that.
"Everyone else? How are we?" Phoenix heard the Doctor ask somewhat loudly, making her groan slightly. The drums had given her a horrible headache, plus she might have hit her head a couple of times on the walls. But if it was going to hurt every time someone talked, she was going to have a really bad idea.
"I'll survive. Although, I can't really stand up." Phoenix said, frowning slightly as she lay there on the floor. There was a searing pain in her leg, and she was pretty sure she either fractured it or broke it. Either way, she couldn't stand up on her own.
"What do you mean?" The Doctor asked, getting closer to Phoenix, making sure she wasn't hurt.
"I think my leg broke or something, idiot." Phoenix said, rolling her eyes. Any other time she would have gotten up, the Doctor should know that. For god's sake, if he was the age she thought he was, she would have been traveling with him for over one hundred years. Does he ever learn?
"Oh. Right." The Doctor said quietly, glancing over to Phoenix nervously. There was something about her tone that unnerved him. It was almost like spite, or anger. It wasn't something that the normal Phoenix had, so he was really worried.
Pushing herself on to her elbows, Phoenix inspected their surroundings. They were just like how she remembered them from the show. The walls were somewhat dented, the lights were out, the seats up in the front were torn up, and Sky was in the front with her hands over her head in a fetal position. Phoenix frowned lightly. It still went after her.
"There are torches in the back of the seats." Phoenix said suddenly, looking at the Doctor who smiled nervously at her before going to grab a torch. Phoenix cocked an eyebrow. What was wrong with him?
Everyone stared at Phoenix nervously from the corners, except for the Doctor, Sky, and Jethro. They felt worried around the woman, but they didn't know why. She seemed to have a dark aura around her, one that the man she came with couldn't feel.
Phoenix watched as the Doctor tossed torches to everyone, then tried creeping closer to the woman, Sky, sitting over at the front of the bus. But, obviously, Phoenix had something to say about that.
"Doctor, don't. It's not safe. Seriously." She said, frowning as he ignored her and kept getting closer. Rolling her eyes, Phoenix slowly stood up, hissing as pain shot up her leg. The Doctor turned around and looked at her, frowning as he noticed her standing.
He walked toward her and scanned her leg with his sonic screwdriver. Looking at the readings, the Doctor sighed. "Broken leg. You shouldn't walk on it."
"I'm going to have to anyways, so you don't really get a say in it." Phoenix said, crossing her arms before slowly stumbling her way to Sky. Sitting down next to her, Phoenix started her rambling.
"Okay, so, entity thing inside Sky, hello. Suppose you want a voice, body, whatever, huh? Go somewhere else, these people would be the worst to grab. Sky's generally paranoid or everything, I have a broken leg, the Doctor's old as hell…" The Doctor's face turned to one of offence. "Jethro is Merlin from like the 15th century so he's old too…" Jethro's face contorted into one of surprise. "Val and Biff are just idiots." They both looked extremely offended. "The hostess is brave, but I suppose you don't need bravery, do you? You're looking for flaws, aren't you? Damn it…" Phoenix tapped the drumbeat on the floor of the shuttle. "Well, so you originally went for the Doctor next, because of all his flaws. Blowing up his planet as one. Then other things, like the genocide he's done, the point in time where he blew up Pompeii. That was funny. But what if I could say I have more flaws? I've done so many things, things that aren't all that great. Things that I shouldn't have done. One happened recently actually. Can't say it because it's in the Doctor's future, but if you go into my mind you can find out. It's pretty bad actually, wow." Phoenix frowned slightly in memory.
"So, entity thing, what do you say? Leave sky alone for me? Truthfully, I think it's a fair trade." Phoenix said softly.
"What are you doing?" The Doctor asked, eyes widening slightly.
"It's fine, leave it to me." Phoenix replied softly.
"It's fine, leave it to me."
"Ah, and here's the copying bit."
"Ah, and here's the copying bit."
"I find this actually quite funny. Watch this."
"I find this actually quite funny. Watch this."
"Hello, I'm Phoenix, and the guy in the stupid suit over there is the Doctor."
"Hello, I'm Phoenix, and the guy in the stupid suit over there is the Doctor."
"Stupid suit?"
"Stupid suit?"
"Yeah, it's stupid. Not as stupid as the tweed though…"
"Yeah, it's stupid. Not as stupid as the tweed though…"
"What tweed?"
"What tweed?"
"Spoilers!"
"Spoilers!"
"Anyways, the square root of pi is 1.772453850905516027298167483341."
"Anyways, the square root of pi is 1.772453850905516027298167483341." Sky said, overlapping this time.
"Ah, and there it is. So, entity, have you accepted my deal? It's quite a fair trade. Sky probably hasn't done too much in her measly human life, but I have. So many things…"
"Ah, and there it is. So, entity, have you accepted my deal? It's quite a fair trade. Sky probably hasn't done too much in her measly human life, but I have. So many things…"
"What do you mean by that Phoenix?"
"What do you mean by that Phoenix?"
"I'll explain later."
"I'll explain later."
"But that's impossible." Hobbes suddenly said.
"But that's impossible."
"She couldn't repeat all that." Dee Dee said, eyes wide.
"She couldn't repeat all that."
"Nothing's impossible, just a bit unlikely." Phoenix retorted, golden eyes boring into the silverfish-grey ones of Sky's. Sadness and helplessness shone through them, bright as day. Eyes are the doorway to a person's soul, as they say.
"Tell her to stop."
"Tell her to stop."
"She's driving me mad."
"She's driving me mad."
Suddenly, everyone's speech started overlapping each other's.
"Stop her staring at me. Shut her up."
"Stop her staring at me. Shut her up."
"It's got to be a trick."
"It's got to be a trick."
"That's impossible."
"That's impossible."
"I'm telling you, whatever your name is."
"I'm telling you, whatever your name is."
"Now, just stop it, all of you."
"Now, just stop it, all of you."
"Her eyes. What's wrong with her eyes?"
"Her eyes. What's wrong with her eyes?"
"She can copy anything."
"She can copy anything."
"Biff, don't just stand there, do something. Make her stop."
"Biff, don't just stand there, do something. Make her stop."
"You're scaring my wife."
"You're scaring my wife."
"Mrs. Silvestry."
"Mrs. Silvestry."
"Six, six, six."
"Six, six, six."
"Everyone just shut up!" Phoenix exclaimed, covering her ears as the drumming pounded harder. Headache yet again.
"Everyone just shut up!"
Everyone suddenly went deadly quiet, much to Phoenix's surprise. Truthfully, she thought they were going to keep talking.
The lights suddenly flickered back on, making everyone sigh in relief and relax slightly. Of course, it was short lived.
"That's nice. The lights are on." Phoenix and Sky said at the same time.
"Ooh. It's started."
"I've actually been waiting for this part… I can actually convince you now."
"She's repeating, at exactly the same time." Jethro and Sky said, the first person's eyes widening to drastic measures.
"Eh, Merlin, you're safe anyways. You can use you magic." Phoenix and Sky said, Phoenix shrugging her shoulders.
"Let's have some fun with this, huh? You guys can't tell me you aren't the tiniest bit interested." Phoenix said, glancing back at the rest of the people on the shuttle.
"Rose Tyler, Amy Pond, Donna Noble, Martha Jones, Clara Oswald, River Song, Melody Pond, Rory Williams, Straxx, Vastra, Jenny, The Doctor's daughter, TARDIS, Doctor, Gallifrey, Time and Relative Dimensions in Space, Chameleon Circuit, Drumming, The Master, The Medusa Cascade, Black, Darkness, the Void, Daleks, Cybermen, Clom, Absorbaloffs, Skaro."
"There's not even a delay" Hobbes said, then gasped when he realized Sky was not copying him.
"She's stopped!" He exclaimed, grinning slightly.
"She's stopped." Dee Dee said slowly, smiling when Sky didn't copy her.
"She looks the same to me. No, she's stopped. Look, I'm talking, and she's not." Val said, grinning as well.
"What about me, is she? Look. Look at that. She's not doing me. She's let me go." Biff said, pointing at Sky.
"Mrs. Silvestry? Nor me. Nothing." The Hostess said, smiling softly.
"What… she's not copying me either." The Doctor said, frowning as he looked at Phoenix, who still had her eyes trained on Sky.
"And that would be me. Did you decide to accept my deal then? Let. Sky. Go. You can kill me for all I care, I'm worthless to the universe. Just let. Sky. Go." Phoenix and Sky said, Phoenix frowning slightly.
"She's only copying you." The Doctor said softly, eyes widening slightly.
"Yeah. It's how I planned it." Phoenix and sky said, Phoenix turning to the Doctor with a sad smile.
Turning back to Sky, Phoenix frowned slightly. "Okay, well, might as well get it over with. Might as well."
Suddenly, a white package appeared out of nowhere and fell into her lap, shocking everyone in the shuttle, probably even the entity.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that. Another fan letter?" Phoenix and Sky said, Phoenix pulling open the letter as she did.
"Fan letter?" The Doctor asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
"Yeah. Been getting them for a while now. It's kind of weird, actually." Phoenix and Sky said, Phoenix grinning as she pulled out a sonic screwdriver from the package. It was similar to the 10th Doctor's, except for it was black instead of silver, and the tip was a deep red. Just how she had always imagined having hers. Pointing it at one of the seats, Phoenix pressed the button and the seams suddenly pulled themselves apart. Phoenix grinned brightly. It was a point-and-think sonic, the kind she liked.
"I've always wanted a sonic screwdriver! This is pretty cool!" Phoenix and Sky exclaimed, Phoenix with a bright smile on her face.
Sticking her hand back in the letter again, Phoenix pulled out a piece of white paper, presumably a note. Unfolding it, Phoenix read the page with a ghost of a smile.
Dear Phoenix,
You really are getting fan mail! You're famous! I don't know why people keep giving you bowties either, so I decided to get you a more useful present. Everyone wants a sonic, right?
Drums are annoying. But... okay, I don't know what to say about the drums. But tell those drums to get out of your head and into someone else's? No, don't. Maybe you could re-summon the Master and give him his drums back.
Remember that the Doctor will always be there for you! We all love you Phoenix!

Setting the letter and the sonic to the side, Phoenix turned back to sky with a grin.
"So what do you think? The items are pretty cool, right?" Phoenix and Sky exclaimed.
"Hmm. Since that's over, why don't you go ahead and leave Sky…" Phoenix and Sky said, but then something scary happened.
"Now." Sky finished first, glaring at Phoenix with triumph as the light slowly left Phoenix's eyes.
"Now." Phoenix said, before succumbing into darkness.
The Doctor's eyes widened as he saw what happened in front of him. Phoenix had just been taken over by some entity, and the entity was probably never going to live it down.
"Oh, look at that. I'm ahead of you." Sky said, grinning triumphantly.
"Oh, look at that. I'm ahead of you." Phoenix copied, her eyes wide with fright.
"Phoenix is copying her." Jethro side, eyes widening slightly.
"Doctor, what's happening?" Hobbes asked, a scared look on his face.
"I… I don't know." The Doctor said, arms lip at his sides. He really didn't know what to do. That was a first. The entity had just taken over his Phoenix, and was using her for a voice.
The entity was never living this down.
Well yay, the entity took over Phoenix! I have something absolutely (okay, somewhat...) brilliant for the next chapter! I'm excited!
I hope you enjoyed and everything! :)
