Chapter One

Chat Noir was enjoying the night air while sitting on the beams of the Eiffel Tower, it gave him time to think and he didn't like his thoughts. His friend Marinette was in hospital recovering from Appendicitis so she would be out of school for at least two weeks but he hadn't been able to contact Ladybug either and no he was worried something had happened to her as well. Luckily Hawkmoth seemed to have taken a break and no new Akumas had attacked but that made Chat feel like it was the calm before the storm.

Feeling like he was getting nowhere, Chat stood up to go home maybe he could get a gift for Marinette to make her feel a bit better, he would ask Alya in the morning when he got to school on what he should get her.

Just as he was about to jump off to go home, heard something behind him or more accurately someone, Ladybug stayed near the shadows hiding her face to him but he was happy to see that she was here and nothing had happened to her.

"Milady? Where have you been?"

"I'm sorry Chat Noir, I just had a lot of stuff going on right now but I wanted to see you. I've been thinking about us recently and I just needed space." Chat frowned at that, sure he was still flirty with her but that was in a friendly banter kind of way now.

"Listen Ladybug, I like you I won't deny that but you're friendship is everything to me and if my behaviour has been inappropriate you need to tell me. I can't be any help if you don't tell me what's going on." Chat explained.

"No, no! What I was going to say is I've thought long and hard about this and I want us to be together." Ladybug ran to him kissing him on the lips. Chat while shocked, knew something was going on, while he would love that Ladybug was returning his feelings, this was too out of character. He pulled her away and looked at her but there was something different about her, he just couldn't put his finger on it. "What's wrong Chat? I thought this is what you always wanted."

"It is but not like this because you're not Ladybug or at least you're not my Ladybug,"

"What?! How?!" Not-Ladybug stepped back making space between herself an Chat.

"I didn't know specifically until just now."

"What but that bug creature said it would hide my identity, that no one would know who I was."

"You really think I wouldn't know the difference between you and the girl I love and another thing, how did you get the Miraculous? I doubt Ladybug would give her Miraculous to anyone. So how did you get them?!"

"Wouldn't you like to know Kitty, but that'll have to wait until next time, mwhaa!" Not-Ladybug blew an air kiss before jumping off. Chat ran to the edge but when he looked down he couldn't see where the fake Ladybug had gone. When he got home, he de-transformed and Plagg looked at him worried.

"What's wrong kid? Did Ladybug turn you down again?"

"Plagg, I think someone stole Ladybug's Miraculous. It wasn't my Ladybug tonight and I know she wouldn't just hand her Miraculous over to someone else."

"Are you sure?!" Adrien nodded, Plagg noticed the grim look on his face and realised he would have to check this out himself. "Alright Kid, I'm gonna go check with Sugarcube to see what's going on with Ladybug. I'll be back, I promise."

"Good luck Plagg."

Plagg flew out the window, heading to Marinette's thinking that maybe his holder was overreacting and it was nothing but when he got to his destination he found that not to be the case. The other Kwami were barely keeping it together and Plagg knew if it weren't for Wayzz they would probably have wrecked the place seeing as Marinette was still recovering in the hospital.

"So what's going on with Pigtails and Sugarcube?"

"Plagg, it's horrible! Marinette got sick and had to go to hospital."

"Ok, I'm following so far but how did Pigtails lose the miraculous?"

"The paramedics said that because she had to have surgery they needed to remove her jewellery, they took the earrings with them but I don't know what happened after that, Tikki said she would come and tell us how Marinette was after her surgery but she never came back."

Plagg nodded getting the picture now on how someone might have got their hands on the Miraculous, the only problem now was finding the person who had taken them before Hawkmoth did. When he got back to the mansion he saw that Adrien was still up and pacing his room waiting for him. He told Adrien what he thought had happened leaving some parts out so he wouldn't figure out who Ladybug was.

They decided that they would start searching for the fake Ladybug tomorrow and convince her to give him the Miraculous before they got hurt but they would also be looking for a needle in a haystack as well, so hoping for a miracle Adrien turned in for the night, however his dreams were plagued with nightmares.

Adrien arrived at school earlier than usual, he had been talking to Plagg and figured he could recruit Alya and Nino to help him find "Ladybug". He neared his class and could hear gasps coming from inside, taking a deep breath he walked in.

"Oh my gosh Lila that's so cool!"

"You're gonna be such a cool hero"

Adrien sighed again knowing that Lila was telling one of her fantastic tales that never happened so he decided to take his seat and blend into the scenery until lunch so he could talk to Alya and Nino privately but before that happened Lila spotted him and called him name which made him look over.

"Adrien isn't it great Ladybug loaned me her Miraculous to help the heroes because she has so much going on in her life right now. Ladybug is my BFF so of course she trusted me with it."

Well at least he wouldn't have to find the fake Ladybug now…
