Trigger warn: Description of Birthing.
Chapter 43.
Olivia woke up with back pain again, which has been happening for the past few weeks. It's become a regular occurrence and no longer surprises her.
Sonny was still asleep next to her. He was snuggled close with his head on her neck and his hands wrapped around her stomach. She smiled, trying not to wake him as she carefully slipped out of bed.
Olivia debated whether or not to wake him up but she decided to take a shower first. She hoped that the hot water would help ease her discomfort.
The warm water cascaded over Olivia's tired body, providing a temporary relief from the throbbing pain in her lower back. She sighed as she leaned against the shower wall, trying to relax her muscles.
When she got out of the shower, she quickly put on a towel and went into the bedroom to get dressed for the day just as she bent down to pick up her pants from the floor, a sudden jolt of pain shot through her. Olivia screamed as she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.
Sonny jumped out of bed and panicked at the look of pain on Olivia's face. Concerned and alarmed, Sonny sprang into action, quickly realizing that Olivia's contractions had begun. He rushed to her side, trying to remain calm and supportive despite his own anxiety.
As the labor pains began, Olivia's demeanor remained surprisingly calm and composed while Sonny seemed incredibly worried. It was quite amusing.
"Are you sure you can drive to the hospital?" Olivia asked with concern in her voice.
Sonny replied confidently "Don't worry, I'll get us there safely."
Olivia raised an eyebrow and looked at Sonny skeptically. "But what if you get too nervous or distracted?" she asked.
Sonny smiled gently at her, "Liv, I promise I will drive carefully. I have the most important cargo on board. Nothing is more important to me than the safety of you and our babies."
Olivia nodded, her concern temporarily eased by Sonny's assurance.
Sonny quickly retrieved the hospital bag for Olivia and the twins that had been packed as a precaution. Olivia and Sonny drove to the hospital with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation, knowing that their lives were about to change forever. As the contractions intensified, Olivia clutched her belly tightly and took deep breaths to cope.
As they got closer and closer to the hospital, Olivia grew more and more anxious. She took deep breaths, trying to calm herself as the contractions intensified. Sonny took one of her hands and squeezed it gently, giving her a reassuring smile.

As they rush through the entrance of the hospital, Olivia's labor pains intensify causing her to pause in the hallway.
Sonny, recognizing the urgency of the situation, offers his arm for support and gently encourages Olivia to keep moving towards the labor and delivery unit.
Once in the labor and delivery unit, the medical team quickly assesses Olivia's condition and prepares her for further examination.
They check her vital signs monitor the twins heart rate and order a cervical examination to determine the progress of labor.
They offered Olivia medication to help with her pain, but she politely declined, opting for natural childbirth. She did not want to take medication. Sonny sat next to her, holding her hand and offering words of encouragement.
"Remember, I am your birthing coache, Liv." When she heard that, she couldn't stop laughing.
Olivia looked at Sonny with a mixture of amusement and gratitude. Despite the lighthearted moment, Olivia knew that natural childbirth was a
serious and potentially risky decision. Especially in her case with twins.

The pain returned and hit Olivia hard. She squeezed the sides of the bed trying to ride out another contraction. The pain seemed never-ending and she cried out as she breathed through it.
"Liv, you are a badass." Sonny commented as he took a wet washcloth and gently placed it on her forehead, offering some relief from the sweat and stress of labor.
After a few more agonizing contractions that felt like they would tear her apart it was time for the baby head. Olivia felt a mixture of excitement and fear as she entered the final stage of labor. She gripped Sonny's hand tightly and moaned as the pressure increased.
"Liv, you're doing great." Sonny said as he smiled at her. His hand hurt from the pressure. But that was nothing compared to what Liv was going through.
Olivia's legs tensed, ready to push. Sweat dripped down her forehead and into her eyes, but she didn't notice. After a while, a small cry filled the air.
Olivia relaxed back against the bed. The newborn wailed mournfully in the doctors arms until Sonny cut the umbilical cord with a pair of silver scissors. The doctor wrapped the little girl in a soft white towel.
The doctor handed the baby over to the father, marking a significant moment in the father's role in the birth. As the baby lay securely in the father's arms, Sonny looked down at the tiny bundle of joy with a mixture of awe, love, and responsibility.
The baby bore an uncanny resemblance to both parents, their features blending together in the most perfect way. Remarkably, her delicate features mirrored his own so closely that even her tiny frown was an eerie reflection of Sonny.
He smiled broadly at Liv, who was watching them. Did she see the smile in his eyes? He walked over to Olivia with the baby and gently placed the newborn in her arms.
As Olivia held her newborn, a flood of emotions washed over her.
"Hello, there Honey " Olivia whispered softly, her voice filled with awe and love.
The baby stirred in her arms its tiny fingers reaching out to grasp her mothers.
Her heart was filled with overwhelming love and joy as she looked down at the precious bundle in her arms.
At this point, Olivia was hit with another contraction. She entrusted her firstborn to a nurse for examination and focused on the impending arrival of the second twin.
