Chapter Two
(Maleficent and Wesker's pov, 3rd view)
Maleficent could be seen scowling as Sora and his friends made their way to the church. The dead body of the gigante left behind after Jake took the spoils for their efforts. Wesker's face unreadable as both mulled over what they saw Sora do to the B.O.W. alone at the lake while working together as a team against Wesker's newest gigante based B.O.W.
"I look forward to seeing him suffer once that egg hatches. He's still as troublesome to kill as when I first fought him..." Maleficent said keeping her anger in check, but not able to hide hatred in her eyes as she watches the feed on their cameras.
Wesker folded his arms, thinking as he watched the feeds and the fights of the two monsters. The only indication that he felt anything was the flash of his orange eyes behind his sunglasses. "So it would seem," he mused and gave a slight smirk. "They will die, no doubt about it, but it'll take something extra special. We first need to break them down a bit, starting with Jake and Lanna."
He had a plan that will sprout doubt into their minds but he wouldn't release the B.O.W's just yet, wanting to catch the group off guard. The video feed showed the group looking around the church and picking up what items they had found. Maleficent raised an eyebrow in curiosity, but left it alone for now. She knew Wesker had his reasons and would let him surprise her this time.
(Scene Change:? Leon, Claire, and Pete 3rd P.O.V.)
Pete cursed as he saw the team now making it inside the church. Looks like despite what happened Sora was still just as dangerous as before. The stupid over grown fish never stood a chance against Sora one on one as he rained lightning bolts down like a vengeful god of thunder. While the gigante based B.O.W. was killed quickly by a team effort with no casualties.
Leon meanwhile was truly impressed at Sora's level of power and magic. Especially how he saved Lanna from being fish food to the same B.O.W. he and Helena killed back in Derek Simmon's secret lab. Sora actually managing to knock this fish 15 feet into the air surprised him, but the lightning...Oh the lightning really took the cake, especially the last one. That shower of lightning bolts looked five times bigger than the other four and most likely five times as powerful. Looking at Pete, Leon could only think of one thing to say.
"You actually want to try to kill HIM? You must be insane to want to pick a fight with that kid."
Pete growled. "Shut up! Don't you doubt Maleficent and Wesker! They will find a way kill Sora and his group. You better believe it!" he said, glaring. "And he wouldn't be so strong if it wasn't for that blasted key of his!"
"So why haven't you tried stealing it?" Claire asked, brow raised at the cat.
"Because!" Pete said, flustered. "Only those supposedly with strong hearts of light or darkness can wield them! Plus they have to be chosen by the keyblade's to wield them in the first place!" He stamped his foot in frustration, hating the kid and was starting to hate Lanna and the others as well.
"'Them'? You mean there's more than one?" Claire asked, surprised. Who else had those keys?
"Of course there is dum dum! Those brats, Riku and Kairi, have them!" he snapped, glaring at the screen. "I can't believe he defeated the fish and the giant!"
"So that's three keyblade wielders here...your odds aren't looking so good in that case." Leon says now wondering how they plan to survive this. Even if they got passed Sora, they still had two more that would be out for blood most likely.
Pete pointed at him. "Don't get so big and mighty! One of the wielders is weak! She won't even stand a chance against Maleficent! Besides, she's locked away in the church! They won't figure out the puzzle to open the doors!"
Claire smirked. "Don't be so sure. Lanna and Jake are pretty smart when it comes to puzzles" she said. "They'll crack it in no time!" She was confident in their abilities and as well as Sora and his friends. She knew they would pull through and get the virus out of Lanna's body and get them all out.
(Scene change:? Chris and Jill P.O.V)
Chris had to admit he was both worried and hopeful for their odds of survival. One reason being the witch never bothered to turn off the tv, so they had a decent view of what Sora and the others were up to. Letting Chris and Jill see a sight they would never forget. Sora destroying a B.O.W. by himself like a vengeful god of thunder and, to their pride and joy, seeing the whole team taking out a gigante based B.O.W. with no one dying. Chris knew Jake could handle himself and so could Lanna, but for everyone to make it out alive was a blessing.
"Looks like our chances might be better than we thought, Jill." Chris said feeling a small sense of hope for them. Especially as he saw Sora's eyes when fighting the monsters. They were like those of the troops in the BSAA, heck he wouldn't mind having the kid as one of their own. He'd be a prodigy for sure and his magic was no joke, but the whole from another world and issues with killing a human are hurdles he would need to overcome for everyone's sake.
Jill smiled as she saw this and nodded. 'Yes" she said, feeling hopeful. She was beyond surprised by how Sora fought the monsters and his ability to wield that blade and use spells was incredible. But despite all that she was also fearful. They knew what Wesker was like. He was cold, ruthless and calculating. Who knew what else he had cooked up with that witch...
"I hope they can find Sora's friend alright..." she murmured as the group could use some good luck. She worried about the boy's issues with taking a life and treating his enemies too nicely.
(Scene change: Inside the Church. 3rd P.O.V.)
"Wow...This place is old." Sora says seeing the place have lots of dust and webbing around.
Donald coughed from the dust and sneezed. "Yeah...when was the last time they dusted?" he asked, looking around and looked up at the stained glass. "Pretty window designs."
Goofy looked up and nodded. "Yeah it is. Hey Lanna! Come see the glass!" he said and looked around, not seeing her. "Where did she go?"
Lanna had found a ladder that led to the second floor and had climbed. it. She saw the bars and grabbed them, shaking them. "Up here! I think I might have found Kairi, but there are gates surrounding the both hallways and they're new!" She looked around and frowned a bit as she looked at the glass and metal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. She wasn't sure how rusty the chain was and little nervous about jumping on to it. "Well here goes nothing..." She backed away a bit and jumped onto the chandelier, holding on as it swayed from side to side, hearing the startled gasps from her friends.
"Lanna!" Donald yelped, looking up at her. "Get down from there!"
"Just...a little..." Lanna said as she gave one more good swing and jumped to the other side of the landing easily and looked down at the others, waving. "I'm fine!" She tried to ignore the looks she was getting from Jake. If this had been a cartoon she could have sworn she could a see a vein throb in his forehead.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack little red?!" Jake shouted with a glare as he marched to the ladder and climbed his way up. Rolling his eyes as she called an apology to him. Grumbling about 'crazy little sisters' and 'curse of stubbornness'. Sora following behind him before jumping up to the top. Ignoring Jake's irritated look at the boy jumping over his head to make it up. Watching as Sora ran to the chandelier too.
"Don't you freaking..." Jake started before Sora jumped on it to. Worse he was laughing as he swung on it with a grin. "He did...got to be fucking kidding me." Jake mutters feeling a headache coming, but was relieved they were both safe on the other side. They weren't off the hook though, not by a long shot.
Donald and Goofy sighed at Lanna's and Sora's antics, muttering that they were two of a kind but were starting to think that they balanced each other out nicely.
Lanna kicked open the barrels that were in the corner, finding a flash grenade and a herb. "You guys coming?" she called out and saw more webs there. She blinked and took a closer look, seeing that they were still fresh and they looked a little bigger than normal. She shook it off and stood up, seeing a console a bit closer to the gates.
She made her way towards it and saw that on the box there was three circles with the colors and the designs from the stained glass. She tilted her head, confused.
Sora made his way next to her as Jake jumps on the chandelier and times his jump to the other side.
"What's with the odd patterns, Lanna?" Sora asks seeing the weird designs all three colors had and each of the patterns were different from one another.
Lanna didn't answer right away as she stared at the patterns, biting her lower lip as she thought. "...Something to do with the glass..." she said and looked up at the stained glass window. Her brows furrowed. "...I think they're part of the pattern to the glass."
Donald looked at the patterns. "That's because they are! But it looks like you have to turn them somehow," he said and looked at the buttons under the dials that looked to be a bit rusty. "Not sure if they can be moved..."
Lanna grabbed one and twisted it slowly, grunting. "Jeez...it's rusty alright..."
"Let me try one." Sora asks turning one with some difficulty at first, but got it moving a little smoother. Though the loud grinding was audible and Jake couldn't help wincing at the sound.
"Someone get some WD40 to this or something...damn." Jake mutters easily guessing the gears haven't been cared for all that well.
Donald and Goofy covered their ears at the sounds, having a bit more sensitive hearing as they were animals. Lanna winced as well. "Or vinegar..." she said. "Man that's awful..." She looked up and gasped. "Sora...can you move that one again? But to the right?"
Goofy looked at Lanna, confused. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"The designs on the dials have to match up with the ones on the stain glass!" She said pointing at the colors. "My guess is that if get them to match up the gates will open."
Sora not seeing the harm moved it more to the right and saw the picture lining up more like the symbol they had to make it appear. "Hey, I see what you mean. Looks like the one on your left is the last one to move." Sora says impressed that Lanna figured out this strange puzzle so easily.
"My sister the puzzle queen." Jake says with a smug smile on his face.
Lanna flushed a bit at the compliment and shifted on her feet. "It's not that impressive..." She rubbed the back of her head and nodded. "Yeah. Once they're aligned we should hear the gates go up."
"That's impressive," Donald said, eyes wide. "You're great at puzzles, Lanna!"
"Thanks, but it wasn't always a good trait." Lanna said, remembering the faces of her parents when she hacked the codes to the BSAA files on the monsters and events that happened in the past. She got a very stern talking to and two weeks of being grounded, but it didn't stop her from loving puzzles.
When Sora finished moving the dials and aligned the colors there was a clicking sound from somewhere in the room and the gates started to rise up into the ceiling. Lanna grinned a bit. "Let's go see if we can find Kairi." She headed to the door and opened it slowly. "Kairi...? Holy!" She ducked when a piece of board came flying at her head, sighing a bit.
"No! Leave me alone!" Came a voice Sora knew anywhere.
"Kairi! Calm down we're here to rescue you and Riku!" Sora said stepping in front of Lanna to keep Kairi from throwing anything else or worse, attacking Lanna with her keyblade. Just cause she was weak as a keyblade wielder, didn't make her any less dangerous to normal humans without powers.
Kairi looked up and gasped as she saw her childhood friend and her crush. "Sora? Sora!" she said and tackled him, hugging him tightly. "You found me! What took you so long!" She wailed as she had been scared out of her mind as she held onto him, not wanting to let go.
Lanna sweatdropped at the sight of the two and coughed a bit, a hand on her hip. "Nice to have such a happy reunion," she said, making Kairi look up and stare at them.
"Sora, who are they?" Kaira asked, pointing at them. "Goofy? Donald? You're here too?"
The two grinned happily. "Yup! We've been helping Jake and Lanna and they've been helping us," Goofy said grinning happily. Kairi looked at them and nodded. "Thank you" she said.
"Now that we found the girl, let's get out of here" Lanna said.
"The sooner the better, this has been a little too easy." Jake says feeling something wasn't right. Sure the giant was a pain, but why leave a prisoner so unguarded in the church. He didn't even see any cameras or security devices meant to stop them. Just the weird locking puzzle and that wasn't hard to crack.
It just didn't make any sense...It felt like a trap.
"Fine by me, sooner we get out of here. The sooner we can find Riku, your parents, and Elly's parents before stopping whoever is behind this!" Sora said determined to bring this nightmare to an end.
Lanna nodded as she headed down the ladder with Goofy and Donald right behind her. Kairi followed after them though she stayed close to Sora. The webbing seems a bit newer, fresher...
Lanna didn't get creeped out easily but seeing all the fresh, large webbing was started to get to her. She grew a bit pale.
"Are you alright, Lanna?" Donald asked her, seeing how she was acting. Lanna nodded weakly. 'Yeah...I hate bugs and spiders..." she said, looking around. She felt something was gonna happen and frowned. She pulled out her blade and turned to look at Kairi and Sora. "Don't move..." she said and flicked her wrist as the blade sunk into the wall between them, impaling a spider that was almost the same size as their heads.
Kairi yelped, holding her head and glared at Lanna. "What the hell is wrong with you! You could have missed!" she yelled before looking at the dying spider on the wall and whimpered. "That's...huge..."
"We need to leave, now" There was an urgency in her tone as Lanna pulled her blade out and made her way to the door, only to stop seeing it was covered in webbing. "Shit..."
Jake cursed as his instincts were once again right...Man he was hating being right today.
"If I had to guess..." Jake said in a whisper as he gave the universal sign for 'be quiet' in a shushing motion. "I'd say the mother spider is around here...and definitely awake." Jake whispered to his friends looking around and above them warily. Having a hard time seeing due to poor lighting in the church.
"Where is it? I don't see it at all..." Sora said getting the hint and being quiet. He knew he could hold his own, but Kairi was not use to these things yet. He couldn't recklessly move and endanger her, but at least with Lanna, Jake, Donald, and Goofy he had no shortage of people to keep her out of harms way.
"And mad," Donald said looking uneasy as he summoned his staff. Goofy summoned his shaft. "Lanna...maybe you shouldn't have killed the spider..."
Lanna smiled weakly. "I guess not..." she said. A loud screech was heard from somewhere overhead, alerting them that the mother was very close and very pissed off.
Kairi looked up and gasped, pointing. "Up...there..." she said. Up on the ceiling was a very large webbing that connected to different pillars of the walls. Resting on the web was large spider, bigger than a car. It was a black widow and it stared at them hatefully, drool dripping from the razor sharp pincers. It shrieked again and with it baby spiders lowered from the ceiling, surrounding the group.
Kairi whimpered as she clung to Sora tightly, looking at the baby spiders as they were surrounded by them. Lanna pulled her gun out, looking at the spiders as she fought back her fear of them, feeling her pulse rise. 'it's okay...it's okay...they're just...spiders...' she thought, swallowing. "Uh...any ideas...?" she asked.
"Um...burn them?" Goofy suggested.
"No. This place is old. One wrong move with fire and we'll all be burned" Lanna said. "We have to find another way out of here." She looked around and spotted the windows. "The window?"
"I don't think it's gonna let us...We, no, I need to distract it. Donald, Goofy, I want you to get Kairi out through the window. Jake, Lanna, back them up and follow. I'll be the last one out." Sora said his mind racing with plans and tactics he could use to buy his friends time to run.
Lanna looked at him, not liking the idea. "Sora...you can't," she said. She didn't want to leave him alone with that thing, fear or not. He was her friend.
"No time to argue, we have to think of something." Donald said quietly. "We'll get Kairi out the window, no worries on that." Kairi looked a bit peeved. "Sora will do what he can. He's stronger than he looks." She said, looking at Lanna and looked at Sora, her expression softening. "Stay safe."
The baby spiders hissed at the group, their eyes glowing hungrily as they were ready to pounce on them. Their mother trilled at her young ones, urging them to strike and they did as they sprang at them.
"I will, I promise." Sora said before jumping toward the baby spiders with his keyblade glowing in magic. Ready to catch them mid jump and force the mother to back off slightly. "Aeroga!" Sora shouts creating a large cyclone of wind around himself catching the baby spiders in the cyclone spiraling and spinning around Sora. The winds current and strength forcing the mother spider to back off higher into the attic to avoid being pulled in.
Sora smirked seeing the first part of plan plan is working as he instantly focuses his fire magic into his keyblade. "Firaga!" Sora shouts mixing his fire magic with his Aeroga and making the wind around him catch on fire. Burning the spider babies for a brief few seconds before the wind finally dispersed. Revealing Sora falling to the ground as gravity had taken hold. The spider mother seeing no sign of it's babies and a smirking Sora moving purposely near the door of the church.
Kairi followed after Donald and Goofy as they got her outside the church safely. Lanna didn't want to leave Sora behind as they made their way to the window as the babies went after Sora. It felt wrong to her as she reached the window. "Are we doing the right thing?" she asked softly and ducked a spider that had been caught in the whirlwind and got burned.
"Come and get it you overgrown bug!" Sora challenges secretly eyeing Donald and Goofy as they slip out the window undetected by the giant spider. Lanna and Jake looking at him worriedly as they kept watch over Donald and Goofy.
The mother screeched in anger as she scuttled along her web, moving towards Sora angrily with the intent to kill as she paid Jake and Lanna no mind at all.
Lanna looked back as the spider lunged at Sora, fangs wide open to bit down on him. If a small spider was poisonous, this giant one would eat Sora alive if he wasn't careful.
Sora eyes narrowed as he instantly used magic dash to avoid the attack skidding to a halt as he got out of his dash. His keyblade glowing blue with an icy aura around the tip as he aimed at the giant spider.
"Blizzaga!" Sora shouts firing a large ice crystal ghosting past the spider and freezing part of it's face. Sora continues to fire one Blizzaga after another freezing more of it's body little by little. Going for his chain magic effect ability as Jake watched in both admiration and worry.
"If it was anyone else, I would say no, but in this case...I feel we can trust him. Now let's go, we'll only be a distraction if we stay." Jake says nudging Lanna gently, but firmly to the window. 'You better make it back, key boy, or I'll personally bring you back to life just to kick your ass.' Jake thought worried for the kid, but willing to trust his judgement as he got Lanna and himself out the window.
Lanna nodded as she jumped out of the window, biting her lower lip as she looked up at the window. She wanted to make sure Sora would come out alright and in one piece.
"Blizzaga!" Sora shouts firing the fifth one now at the spider. The size of the ice crystal easily being big enough to hit the entire human body in one attack. The ice crystal like all the others froze it's body, only this time the whole spider's body was nearly frozen over. Unable to break free as Sora charged up with an aura of light now around his body.
"Ars Arcanum!" Sora shouted unleashing a powerful and quick barrage of swings from his keyblade. Bashing the ice to pieces everywhere on it's face he hit and causing severe pain for the spider as it's face and head was ruthlessly pummeled. It's skull cracking and bleeding as many of it's eyes were bashed into pulp. It found no chances to counter attack in the onslaught of vicious and fast attacks Sora was raining down on it's head. Before Sora finally slashes one final time vertically on it's head. Slamming it's head down to the ground with enough force to cause crater from the impact between Sora's keyblade, the spider's head, and the earth beneath.
Sora immediately jumps back to gain distance, panting heavily from unleashing so much of his magic so far today. He had to be wise with his remaining magic or he'd be hard pressed to stay alive. That said, he was unsure if that was enough to kill the giant spider as he saw many of it's eyes were now useless and it's skull was bleeding heavily.
The mother spider screeched weakly, one of its pincer's cracked and broken at the tip. It bleed heavily as it struggled to raise it's head from the crater that Sora slammed it into. It was blind now, not sure where Sora was as it crawled slowly and moved towards Sora but only to miss, crashing against the wall, knocking over a torch and hit the floor, setting the webs on fire. The impact cracked the skull more, jamming some of the bone shards into the brain. It let out another screech as it fell, no longer moving as it left behind a large sack of gold.
The fire started to spread through the webbing and along the walls.
Lanna gasped as she saw the flickering fire through the windows. "SORA!" she cried out. Kairi gasped and made towards the door, only to have Goofy hold her back.
"Come on kid get outta there..." Jake said worried as the fire rapidly spread through the building using the webs to spread all over the place. Sora quickly grabbed the gold and made a beeline for the window they jumped out of. Seeing a piece of roof about to fall on him, Sora dodge rolls and immediately launches out the window once back to his feet again. Grunting as he hit the floor on the way down and picks himself up, coughing as the smoke was getting to him and looks for the way Lanna and the others got out. Upon finding a door, he bashes it open with his keyblade to escape the smoke and fire.
Startling his friends as Jake and Lanna point guns at where the noise was on reflex, before everyone relaxed seeing a dirty, but very much alive and in one piece Sora. "Hey, guys...*cough**cough*...you all alright?" Sora asks wanting to be sure they were fine while he was busy.
"Sora!" Donald, Goofy and Kairi hugged him as they helped him away from the fire as the windows blew out from the pressure of the gases from the fires. Lanna looked at the building as the roof started to collapse in on itself, her face glowing orange and red from the flames. She sighed a bit, glad that something stood for evil was gone but sadden as well. The church hadn't been built for the evil cult that Saddler set up all those years ago.
She turned to look at the people that surrounded Sora, watching them as they checked him over for wounds. She smiled lightly, relieved that he had made it through as she kept her distance. She saw Jake ruffle the boys hair, a relieved look in his eyes. Kairi clung to Sora, like he would disappear into thin air.
"Do you hero types always have to cut it so close?" Jake asks playfully earning a grin from Sora in return.
"What can I say? Showing up at the last second to save the day and barely surviving disaster is all part of being a hero." Sora shot back making Jake chuckle at Sora's remark. He's a cheeky one it seems. Looking at Lanna, Sora gave her a relieved smile glad she was okay. "I'm glad you got out in one piece and kept everyone safe, Lanna, thank you."
Lanna blinked and smiled lightly as she walked towards him. "I should be thanking you," she said and hugged him tightly. She sighed a bit. "I'm glad your safe. I was worried..." She whispered in his ear and pulled back, smiling at him. Sora blush with a bashful smile on his face and rubbed the back of his head with his hand like a kid with his hand caught in a cookie jar.
Donald smirked and nudged Goofy with a knowing look, causing the dog to chuckle a bit. Kairi looked like she bit into a lemon while trying to smile.
The fire roared as the building crumbled finally, only leaving a heap of burnt wood, ash and charred stone in it's place. Lanna looked at the destroyed building. "This isn't over yet," she said.
"True, we still have to find Riku, your parents, and Elly's parents. When we need to stop whoever is behind all of this." Sora said before turning his attention to Kairi.
"Kairi, did you notice anyone who might be behind all of this? Or maybe where Elly's and Lanna's parents are being held?" Sora asks hoping she might've seen something.
Kairi looked at Sora and shook her head. "No. I just saw those men that took me and Riku running. But they did say something about someone was here. BSAA?" she looked confused. Lanna looked at her, her pulse rising.
"Are you absolutely sure, Kairi?" Lanna asked, wanting to make sure if she heard right. The short red headed girl nodded. "Yeah. Why? Who are they?"
Lanna sighed. "It means Bioterrisom Security Assessment Alliance" she said. "My aunt and uncle work for them and they were taken as well, along with my parents. My mother is pregnant with my baby brother." She glared at the ground, gripping her hand into a fist, turning her knuckles white. "Whoever is behind this, I will kill them." A hard look on Lanna's face appeared, making her determined to take down who ever started this hell.
"We'll help, Lanna," Goofy said nodding. "Just stay calm." He was worried about that thing inside of her body, not knowing what it could do.
Donald nodded, looking concerned."You're not alone, we're all in this together."
"Don't forget you got the best mercenary on your side and a kid with superpowers." Jake said cutting in getting a chuckle and a nod from Sora who put his hand on Lanna's shoulder. "We'll save them all, together. We just have to take this one step at a time." Sora told Lanna hoping to help her calm down and not lose herself to her anger.
Lanna fought back angry tears and nodded, blinking her eyes and smiled lightly as she felt his hand on her shoulder, feeling the warmth from it and the words from Jake and from Donald and Goofy. "Thank you," she said softly and smiled. "I appreciate it." She felt better from it. "Let's get out of here." She started down the hill.
"Where to now?" Donald asked.
"We head to the castle," Lanna said.
Kairi groaned. "I hate castles..." she said. Lanna looked at her and smirked. "Then you really gonna love this one."
"Can't be any worse than Hollow Bastion's castle. Now THAT was a headache trying to find your way around and fight through." Sora says remembering all the puzzles they had to solve, the treasures chests they found, and all the heartless they had to fight during their search for Riku, Maleficent, fighting Ansem, and trying to seal the keyhole. Only to shudder remembering the time he struck himself with the keyblade of hearts to free Kairi's heart.
Lanna looked at him. "Really?" she asked, head tilted at that as they went down the path and reached the shack. Donald went down the stairs first than Goofy. Kairi followed after the pair. Lanna climbed down the stairs and were shortly joined by Sora and Jake.
Donald nodded, shivering. 'It was a nightmare" he said. "The puzzles were a mess and trying to find the treasure chests were just as bad."
"Hayuck, don't forget Ansem!" Goofy said. "He was the worst!"
"Ansem?" Lanna asked, confused as she didn't know what Sora had to do to help Kairi.
"Remember how I explained a guy named Xehanort betrayed his teacher and took his name? Well Ansem was the teacher he stole the name from and took as his own. Confused us at first too." Sora explained not wanting to go into details about EVERYTHING he'd been through there. Especially how he died to save Kairi, he knew that was something most would not believe and the memory itself was not that pleasant.
Lanna nodded. "I remember" she said as she made her way down the hallway with the others and pushed opened the door, seeing the blue torches there but the merchant was gone.
"Gone?" Donald asked, seeing the cloaked figure had disappeared. Goofy looked around, brow raised. "Bathroom break?"
Lanna chuckled softly. "Who knows, but I'm sure we'll see him again." Kairi looked confused, looking at them. "Who? Who's gone?" she asked and looked at Sora, wondering what they were talking about.
"A merchant that was here" Lanna said. "We found him on the way to the church."
"Shame too, we have so much gold to spend on some sweet upgrades for my babies." Jake said reloading his guns that needed it while checking them. A professional should always be aware if their guns needs reloading or not and never leave things to chance.
"I'm sure there will be other chances, but how far till we reach the castle?" Sora asks following Lanna with Jake bringing up the rear behind Donald and Goofy. Kairi as expected hanging close to Sora as she walks a step behind him and in front of Donald and Goofy.
Lanna reloaded her weapons and checked her ammo storage, murmuring a few choices words that would make her mother take a bar a soap and wash her tongue out. She got a glare from Kairi which Lanna ignored. "It'll take a bit as we have to go through the village again and go right up the hill that will lead to a cabin with a fork in the road. Each way leads to the power lift that will take us to the castle, that is if the key is still there." She looked at them. "I hope...we can find some answers about our missing members and...that thing that Mendez injected me with..."
"I'm sure we will, just gotta stay positive," Goofy said. Lanna gave a shaky smile as she felt like a ticking time bomb but nodded. "Yeah, your right. I'll just be moody and crabby if I think on it too long."
"Injected?" Kairi asked, brow raised.
"...Long story" Lanna said, not really wanting to go into it yet. She rubbed her neck, feeling the spot where the needle had punctured a hole there. "Let's keep going." She pushed open the door and headed down the hallway quickly. Jake follows close behind with Sora and the rest in tow.
"You gonna be alright, little red?" Jake asks concerned for her condition.
Lanna sighed a bit and looked at him. "...I feel like a time bomb, Jake," she said, her tone low. "I don't know what's inside of me or what it will do to me. I'm scared that I'll turn into the thing that we fight and that I'll hurt you." She ran her fingers through her hair roughly. She didn't want to worry the others with her worries.
She could feel her nails bit into her palm, feeling the blood drip from her hand. "I don't want to get you hurt, or killed." She could only imagine what would happen to him and Sherry found out.
Donald and Goofy looked at the two, wondering what they were talking about and saw the look on Lanna's face. Sora too watches Lanna and Jake talk in hushed tone, but chose not to say anything yet. It looked personal and since Jake is like a brother to her, he'd trust Jake to help her.
"Lanna, listen to me." Jake said holding her shoulders gently as he turns Lanna to face him. Signaling the others to wait and let them have some privacy. "I don't care what you got injected with, I'm not giving up on you and I promise I won't die. Sora won't die, Donald won't die, Goofy won't die, and Kairi won't die. Most importantly is that YOU won't die if we got any say in this, so don't you dare let this beat you okay? Just stay strong and we'll figure this out, okay?" Jake explains trying to reassure her things will be fine.
"Just remember the lesson Sherry taught me when I was a cold bastard who didn't know how to trust or open my heart. 'Never give up, no matter the odds'. Just like your parents taught her."
Lanna looked up at him, glad that there was some dark shadows in the cave as she didn't want anyone to see the tears in her eyes. She was scared as hell. She took in a shaky breath, feeling his hands on his shoulders and nodded. A tear ran down her cheek as she could feel the words rang through her mind and body. It was just like her parents, saying that. She breathed slowly and nodded.
"That's...just something they would say," she said and gave a small sniff. "Thanks big brother. I needed that." She did need it as she felt calmer and looked up at him, smiling a bit. On impulse she hugged him tightly. Jake could only shake his head and return to hug. Holding her tight and rubbing a hand up and down her back to comfort his little sister.
"I got ya, sis, I got ya." Jake murmurs quietly as the others watch in silence out of respect and concern for them both.
Lanna relaxed, feeling better. "Thank you," she said softly, relaxing more and felt better now. She looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you, Jake. I needed that."
"No problem, just remember we're all here for you okay?" Jake says brushing a hair behind her ear and out of her eyes. "You're parents would be so proud of you, really. Heck, I'm proud of you as it is and you're more or less a student I haven't finished training to be a fully trained ass kicker yet."
Lanna blushed lightly and smiled. "I'm glad to hear that," she said. "I hope, one day, I'll be the best agent as I can be." That was her dream. To be a BSSA agent as she wanted to help others like so many before her did. She looked at Sora and the others, giving a cheesy grin that could make anyone laugh.
(Scene change: Ada's 3rd POV)
Ada frowned as she wasn't happy to return to this forsaken land. She wanted to never come back to this hole. It had been one of her least favorite missions under Wesker. She was only back here as she had gotten wind that Leon and his wife, along with Chris and Jill had been kidnapped. She sighed a bit, wondering who was behind it. She looked at her info and frowned as she saw the image of Lanna and her group. "Tsk, so the young Kennedy is here for her family. Not surprising."
She put her phone back and looked up, hearing something shift in the bushes. She pulled out her grappling gun and shot at a tree and hit the trigger, being raised quickly and twisted in the air, landing on a branch in a high tree, watching to see who it was.
Not a moment later a young man with long silver hair and blue eyes walked through, wearing a white tank top and blue jeans with white shoes. What was in his hand got her attention as it was a strange batwing shaped blade with a small angel wing near the tip. A blue eye with a slit was on the blade just above the handle and before the blade. The young man looked worse for wear as he was covered in sweat and minor cuts. Panting after all the running and fighting he got through.
"How many of those things are there?! It's a good thing they can't sense the keyblade or they really would be worse than the heartless." The young man said recovering his breath and looking around warily. Not that anyone could blame him for after the day he had. Barely escaping capture, forced to leave Kairi behind in the church for the moment, and despite his best efforts to gain information on where they are and who kidnapped them. He was still in the dark and couldn't understand one word those bastards said!
Ada looked at the teen, frowning a bit as she eyed the blade in his hand. She had never seen anything like that before and wondered what it was. She saw the cuts on his body and seeing how ragged he looked. 'Why are you here?' she thought as he looked pretty normal and not infected like the villagers had been. "Might as well introduce myself," she murmured to herself, jumping down and stepped closer to him from behind the tree.
"Lost?" she asked, smirking a bit as she kept her gun out, looking him over. "You're not from around here are you?" She only smiled when Riku got into a defense stance with his blade. "Don't worry, I'm not like the infected villagers." She wondered if she could enlist this boys help with her agenda.
"You aren't like those...things? I seriously doubt they are human considering some of them had heads that exploded and some...creature came popping out. Plus they kept fighting despite me going for broken bones at first." Riku asked, while he would answer a pleasant question from a non hostile normally. He just felt on edge right now after nearly everyone except this woman trying to kill him at first sight.
Ada nodded. "I'm clean," she said as she listened to the boy. "Ah. You ran into the villagers and the thing that popped out of the head? That's called a plaga. They can be hard to kill. You have to keep shooting at it till it explodes." Not many knew about the plaga or what it can do to a person. "Who are you and why are you here?" She wouldn't tell him everything yet as she wanted to learn why he was here. "You're a bit young to be on your own." She shifted on her feet, folding her arms.
It was quiet in the forest for the moment, not even a crow cawing from the tree's. She wondered how far Lanna had gotten.
"I'm Riku and I sadly have little to no idea where I am. I was on Destiny Island with my friend Kairi before we got jumped by someone. Once I regained consciousness, we was imprisoned and I barely managed to escape, but couldn't get to Kairi in time. Now she's been moved to some church last I heard and have been on the run ever since. I'm not even sure what they are saying either, so trying to get them to tell me who kidnapped us is a real problem." Riku explains glad to see a somewhat friendly woman here, maybe she can help him save Kairi while they wait for Sora.
Ada raised a brow. "Destiny Island?" she asked. "Not sure if I heard of it. I know the church, I've been there before." She took in when he had said. Was someone awakening the plagas again? She would have to find out. "Can you describe the people that took you and your friend? I'm looking for some people myself." She had to get another sample of the plagas, wondering if it had evolved into a mature plaga or something. "I'm Ada Wong. I'll help you find your friend as long as you help me in return. Deal?"
She wasn't totally cold hearted but she never did something for free...much.
Riku took a hesitant second to think, but found himself without better options. "Fine, I'll trust you, Ada." Riku says holding out his hand for her to shake. He was still wary of her, but she is the only non hostile local he's met and the only chance he has to save Kairi until Sora shows up.
Ada took his hand and shook it. "Good," she said. "Let's head to the church. I know a short cut so it won't take long to get there." She checked her ammo and started walking. "Is it just you and your friend here or are there more of you?" she asked, looking at him over her shoulder. "And I hope you know how to kill, Riku. You can't go easy on them as they won't do the same for you."
She wasn't the type to beat around the bush when she wasn't joking or teasing. She did take her jobs seriously when pushed comes to shove and always got the job done.
"I'm expecting one more to come looking for us. He is the only one I noticed not captured like Kairi and myself. His name is Sora and he's strong enough to take care of himself and as for killing...Let's just say I've learned that lesson already and am ready to do what I have to..." Riku said knowing it wasn't the first time he had to do something he knew neither Sora or Kairi would approve of. Much to his internal shame, but he would bear it if it means saving Kairi just like back then. He only hoped Sora would be alright once he learns what he has to do as well...
Ada nodded. "Good," she said and looked at him. "Less trouble that way. What do they look like? It would help to know what I am looking for." She pulled out her phone and flipped through it. She showed him the image on it. "These are the people I am looking for." It was Leon, Claire, Chris and Jill. "The blond and the red head, they're daughter is here looking for them." She showed him a picture of Lanna as well. "The others are her aunt and uncle."
She felt frustrated and irritated as well. She didn't want to look for the brat that Leon and Claire created. They soon entered the village and saw the burning body in the bonfire or what was left of it. She saw the bodies of the chainsaw women and looked them over. "They've been here." She saw the foot prints and raised a brow. Was that a duck's foot print? There were two other footprints besides Lanna's and Jake's. But who did they belong too?
Riku's eyes widened as a smile showed on his face. "Those footprints...Looks like Sora's already here and he brought the King's friends as well!" Riku said choosing his words carefully. He could tell by the look on Ada's face she wasn't expecting a duck's footprint and didn't know how she'd reacting seeing Donald and Goofy. He'd have to play this smart for their sake a little bit before he told her everything.
"Okay, Sora has blue eyes and brown hair that is spiky in all directions. He tends to wear a black jacket with pants on top of his T-shirt. he also uses a keyblade like I do, but his looks more like a key than my own does." Riku explains some of the basics first to see how she reacts to it all, but keeping Donald and Goofy a secret for now. Not all worlds had talking animals or ones like Donald and Goofy. So he needed to know what or how she thought of such creatures.
Ada looked at him, taking it all in. "Sounds like a larger story there," she said, brow raised. "What does a keyblade do? You said something about the villagers not being able to to sense it." She had a lot of questions but it would have to wait as they had more pressing matters at hand. She ran a hand through her hair. She looked at the door that would lead to the church but she didn't feel like going under ground at the moment.
She was ready to say more when she looked up and frowned, seeing wisps of black smoke in the sky. Was something on fire? She looked back at Riku. "Does one of the king's friends wear webbed feet?" Her dark eyes catching on that something unusual about them was off, different even. She wouldn't press it for now.
"In order of priority, yes one of the King's men has webbed feet. Like as in they are part of his legs and about the keyblade. It has multiple powers. It's nearly unbreakable, can unlock or lock away pretty much any lock in existence as long as it has a keyhole to work with. But most amazingly it helps someone use magic, like this." Riku said instantly creating a dark firaga in his hand. Holding it to let her see it. A purple and black fireball hovering in his hand trying to be released, but keeping a firm grip on it before releasing it away from them toward a wall that was instantly destroyed.
Ada was impressed by the display and looked at Riku. 'This boy is something,' she thought. 'Someone to keep watch.' She shifted on her feet, thinking. "Hm...that's interesting. You're the first person I've met that could do magic." She told Riku, wondering what would happen to those around here could use magic. Scary.
"Can your female friend do magic like you?" She asked. She felt uneasy about being in the open as she looked around. She wasn't sure if all the enemies had been destroyed yet in the area.
"Only beginners magic, unlike Sora and myself, she's new to being a keyblade wielder. Sora's powers are light focused and my own are between light and darkness. A path I personally walk known as the Path of Dawn. Though to answer one of your earlier questions. I barely remember a guy before I blacked out. I was going to check on my parents when I heard a noise, but when I entered the room and saw them out cold on the floor...I grew fearing for their health and rushed in, only to get shot by something in the back of my neck. My vision swam a bit and before I passed out I saw a guy in all black clothing. I'm sorry, but that's all I can recall." Riku explains to Ada as he saw her looking around.
"Don't worry, I killed most of the idiots here before running off earlier when I first escaped. The ones I missed was some three small groups who chased me into the woods and two chainsaw carrying women. From the look of things, Sora must have gotten to one of them. Though I don't know who got the other one..." Riku says hoping to give Ada some comfort in knowing most of the hostiles here were dead.
Ada nodded, thinking about the man he said in all black clothing. She couldn't tell who it was yet as it was too early to tell and she didn't have all of her facts yet. "Hm..." she said and nodded. "Alright and we'll find out soon enough about these two. For now, we have to get to the church. There is black smoke in the sky and it means something is burning. It's close to the church."
She motioned him to follow her as she climbed over a fence and jumped down. "There is a small path through here that will lead to the church quicker." She just hoped it wasn't the church that was burning.
At the mention of black smoke Riku's blood ran cold and moved down the path she showed him. "We have to hurry!" Riku said rushing ahead down the path, praying Kairi was okay and for Sora to come help them out.
Ada ran with him as the smell grew stronger. The smell of burning wood and metal greeted them as they moved up the hill. She dodged a tree and bush, not even breaking a sweat. "Almost there," she said. They could hear the sound of crackling fire, passing the path that Lanna and the others had taken not too long ago.
When they reached the spot where the church would have been, they were greeted with the sight of a collapsed building except for a few columns left that held up the roof. Everything else had caved in, burning. Ada watched, feeling dread filling the pit of her stomach. This wouldn't bode well and looked at the young man next to her. She could only guess how he would feel and react from this.
Had they been too late? And there was the possibility that she could have been moved.
"Kairi..." Riku said in a haunted whisper as he worried they may have been too late...
Ada was ready to say something but stopped and bent down as she saw the footprints in the ground and same webfoot imprint like before. She counted Jake's, Lanna's, his friend Sora's and the Kings guards but noticed another print that didn't match up.
"Someone saved her, Lanna's group, I think. They're are six sets of footprints Riku." She looked at him and pointed. "They're heading back to the village. " She didn't want to give false hope but her gut was telling her that Lanna and her friends had managed to save Kairi from the fire.
At this Riku perked up at this and checked the footprints. He was relieved to see she was correct. those were Kairi's and Sora's footprints among the rest. 'Thank God...' Riku thought thanking whatever luck or deity he could think of for Kairi's safety.
"Okay, at least they are safe, but I guess since we know they are safe. I now have to help you, a deal is a deal." Riku said knowing that while Ada didn't save Kairi, she did provide evidence that Kairi is safe with Sora and give him information that he needs.
Ada looked at him. "You don't want to follow and see for yourself?" she asked as she stood up and pulled out a map, going through it. "I'm sure we will cross paths with them a few times on this trip anyway. I did back then with the girl's father." She wasn't going to go into deal about it as it was on the need to know basis.
"Besides, we have to go that way," she said and smirked. "It would be good to see the Kennedy girl." She wanted to see how the girl was holding up and getting her first real taste of the 'wild life' that had been mingling with their world for years now.
"Believe me, I'd love to see them again, I just wanted to keep my word too. If we can do both at the same time, I won't object to it." Riku explains ready to see Sora and Kairi again, helping them with anything they might need if he could.
"Let's go see them" Ada said, putting the map away. "We'll take the same path." She started down the road. "We just won't stay long." She headed into the forest with him. It wouldn't take too long to meet up with them.
It was getting dark now as the sun was over the hills, leaving streaks of blue, purples and orange in the sky with twinkling jewels sewn into the fabric. The insects started their nightly songs once again. Riku and Ada soon entered the village area and could hear voices up the hill a bit.
"That's them," Ada said and looked at Riku.
Riku smiled seeing his friends chatting up ahead and was slightly curious of the new friends they have apparently made.
(Lanna's group third P.O.V.)
"We're finally back in the village!" Sora said happy to be out of the tunnels and being one step closer to stopping whoever kidnapped his friends. Jake looked at a destroyed wall that wasn't broken when they left. Noticing burn marks of some kind on the edges.
"Guys...either someone else is here or someone else came by recently." Jake says pointing at the wall that was clearly blown to pieces.
Lanna looked at the burnt marks and how it was destroyed. "Someone had been here," she said and looked around. "And it looks recent." She smiled at Sora's enthusiasm as Kairi stood next to him, their shoulders almost touching. She tried to ignore it and looked up. "Someone's coming up the trail."
Donald looked up, hearing the quiet footsteps and seeing two figures. He grinned. "It's Riku!" he said. "Guys! It's Riku!" Goofy looked excited as well as Kairi as they ran to the silver haired boy. "You're alive!" Kairi tackled hugged her friend, clearly relieved to see he was alright. Lanna was happy to see the pure happiness on Sora's face as he ran to Riku. Hugging the young man as the three enjoyed their group hug.
Lanna's smile dimmed a lot as she saw the woman beside Riku. "Ada..."
"Hello Kennedy," Ada said giving a cool smile. "So good to see you. You've grown since the last I saw you. You were just entering the BSSA training program."
"So you're here too, huh?" Jake said walking next to Lanna and looking at her on guard. He is grateful for Ada finding Riku for them, but from what Claire and leon told him of her. He knew to be careful around the woman, women like her tend to be hard to read...
Ada smiled lightly, head tilted. "Yes. I had business here," she said. Lanna held back an eye roll. "I can only imagine what that is," she said stiffly.
"Oh what's the matter, Lanna? You're a bit uptight," Ada said. Lanna stiffened, glaring at the woman. "You have no clue," she snapped. "Thank you for finding Riku as Sora and Kairi were worried about it but that's all I'm thankful for."
Kairi looked at Lanna. "Why are you being rude? She helped Riku find us," she said, frowning. Ada chuckled a bit. "Oh we go way back," she said. "Long before she was born, don't we?"
Lanna felt her muscles bunched up and lunged at Ada, only for Donald and Goofy to hold her back. "Whoa! Calm down, Lanna!"
Jake immediately stepped between them. Looking at her over his shoulder. "Lanna, cool it. I know you don't get along with her, but we need all the help we can get." Jake told her in a firm tone, but his gaze showed understanding too. He knew Ada had a way of riling people up, sometimes in worse than himself...
"As for you, I take it you must have some idea where Leon and Claire is or you wouldn't be here." Jake says hoping to get some information out of her. Even if it meant trading what he and Lanna learned or any amount of cash, Ada's information usually was worth it. Especially if she goes to the trouble to show up herself, that's when you know the information is the type you never pass up.
Lanna frowned heavily but knew Jake was right. She said nothing, ignoring the looks she got from Sora and Kairi. She didn't look at them.
Ada chuckled a bit. "Smart boy," she said. "But yes, Leon and the others are here. They're in an underground prison. It's recent. You can reach them through the castle but they're not in the same area."
"Oh great..." Donald said groaning and shook his head. "Why couldn't they be in the same place..."
"Come on Donald, you know the bad guys never make it that easy for us." Sora said as he patted Donald's shoulder. Understanding how he felt as they had too had to go out of there way a lot to protect others. Be the entire world, a single person, or even a city full of people. Bad guys never made protecting or rescuing others easy.
Jake just ignored them, though noticed Ada seems shocked to see Disney character. 'If that shocks her, wait till she learns as much about Sora and his friends as we do.' Jake thinks dismissing it for now. "So I take it you know about the plagas those bastards brought back then? Also, according to Sora here, there is some guy running around claiming to be Wesker." Jake mentions deciding that giving some info might make her feel more willing to share any news she learns in the future at least. If she knew anything now though, it could be what he needs to sweeten the pot.
Ada narrowed her eyes a bit. "Wesker? That's impossible," she said. "He's dead."
"That's what we thought but Sora said he was fast on his feet" Lanna said, calmer now and pulled away from Donald and Goofy. She went to sit down on the ground. She was close enough to listen and comment but she wanted to keep her distance away from the woman.
"Hm, thanks for the info," Ada said. "Yes, I knew the plagas were awaken by the villagers. I saw the two chainsaw women that you killed. I wouldn't be surprised if there is more lurking around." She started walking. "I'd be careful if I were you. Leon had been infected with the plaga and nearly changed into one of the villagers."
Lanna winced, gripping her pant leg.
Jake hearing that bit narrows his eyes. While he hopes it wasn't the plaga, knowing how to cure it would be a wise investment. "Ada, how did hero cure himself if he was infected?" Jake asks Ada hoping for good news.
Ada looked at Jake and than at Lanna, staying silent. "There's a machine on an island, an oil field practically, that can remove the plaga IF it's not an adult yet. Once it's an adult, there's close to zero chances of surviving it. The only way to help the host at that time is death."
Jake silently cursed in his mind as Lanna felt her heart sink, praying it wasn't the plaga that was in her body. "The extraction is very painful and that's also a risk."
"What do you mean?" Lanna asked, feeling her stomach tighten.
"You can die from the pain and the extraction," Ada said simply and looked at Riku. "Are you ready?"
Kairi looked at Riku. "What does she mean? Where are you going Riku? Aren't you staying?" she asked.
"Sorry, Kairi, but I'm afraid I have a promise to keep. I'll be okay though," Riku says hoping to assure his friends.
"You sure, Riku?" Sora asks knowing Riku can take care of himself, but wasn't sure what to think of Ada yet. She seems somewhat helpful so far at least...
"Trust me, Sora I'll be fine. Just take care of Kairi and stay alive," Riku says before turning to Ada. "Lead the way, Ada."
Ada nodded and headed off into the darkness with Riku at her side. Kairi sighed and looked at Lanna. "Are you always so hot headed?" she asked.
Lanna ignored her, having too much on her mind as she stared at the ground. Did she have the plaga in her? She wondered and stood up quickly. "We need to head out," She said. "We need to find my parents and everyone else. Can't be dawdling." She started up the hill. Goofy and Donald scrambled after her. "Lanna, wait up!"
Jake sighs having a good idea what's on her mind. "Control your friend, Sora, I'll check on Lanna." Jake says moving to match her pace as Sora hangs back with Kairi. "Kairi, there's no reason to say that. Lanna's been helping me to save you guys and isn't that bad." Sora says hoping for the two to be friends, but now just hoping they won't annoy each other.
'I don't get it, they are both good people, why don't they get along?' Sora thought to himself in wonder.
'Idi-' A voice says making Sora blink before looking around, not seeing anyone around to have said that. 'That was weird...' Sora thinks trying to dismiss it as stress making him hear things.
Kairi sighed. "And? I'm surprised you're working with someone that can lose there temper so quick and that Ada woman barely said anything to her" she said, shaking her head. She wasn't jealous but she didn't like how Lanna and Sora acted around each other. She looked at Sora, seeing him looking around. "What is it?" she asked.
"Nothing, thought I heard something.. and for the record she isn't that bad normally. I think they just rub each other the wrong way or maybe they have history we don't know. All I am saying is I've known her longer and she's a really cool friend." Sora said hoping to get Kairi off what he thought he heard and more focused on giving Lanna a chance.
Lanna was waiting at the gates, waiting for them to catch up. "I'm alright, I'm alright," she said, hearing Jake behind her. "What are the chances of me having the plaga?" She looked at him straight in the eye.
Jake sighs not liking what he was gonna say, but knew he had to. "Unfortunately I don't really know, but considering Mendez was your old man's enemy and there is a lot of plaga infected villagers... I would find it a safe bet, which is why I asked how Leon cured himself. I don't like it, but it's our only lead, Lanna." Jake explains hoping to whatever powers were listening that everything would turn out okay.
Kairi grunted and shrugged. "Fine," she said, not saying anything more about it as she listened to the others.
Lanna ran a hand through her hair. "Great..." she said and closed her eyes a bit. "Times ticking and not just for me." She looked at him. "We have to find them, Jake." She smiled tightly. "Whatever I have, it's not going to stop me from completing this." If she was going to die, she wouldn't go down without a fight.
"True, but you aren't dying either. So don't you dare start thinking you will, cause that is when your survival chances really drop." Jake explains with a stern glare. He would not let her die, even if the way to cure her was risky, it was a way at all and the only one they had. First they had to save the Kennedy family and Redfield family though.
Lanna looked at him and nodded. "Okay," she said, knowing he was right.
"Are you alright now Lanna?" Goofy asked, worried. Lanna nodded. "Yeah, I'm alright" she said. She looked at him. "Thanks, Goofy." The dog smiled and nodded. "Not a problem."
"We're friends, Lanna. We worry about you." Donald said. "If your scared, don't push us away." He and Goofy smiled goofily at her.
Lanna chuckled softly. "Alright" she said. She couldn't help but not laugh. She could see why Sora made friends with them so fast. She remembered as a kid that she wanted to meet them. She got her wish in a way.
"Let's get to the castle."
"Sooner we find your parents, the sooner we can focus on helping you, Lanna." Jake says seeing Sora and Kairi coming up to them. Though Sora more concerned for Lanna than Kairi was.
"So I take it you're okay now, Lanna? You can come to me if you need anything." Sora says hoping to encourage her to open up to him if she was troubled.
Lanna was touched and smiled at him."Thank you Sora," she said. "I appreciate it." And she did. She felt warm and comforted by his worry. She felt like she could talk to Sora more easily, but not so much in front of Kairi. She looked at Jake and nodded. "Right," she said. She looked at the door and pushed it open, revealing a trail that would them to another part of the village. She started down the road.
Kairi was in front of Donald and Goofy again, but stayed close to Sora. Lanna breathed slowly and headed down the road, keeping her gun out. She could hear villagers in the village, yelling and screaming. "What are they saying?" Kairi asked, confused by the weird language. Lanna frowned a bit. "They're taking about Riku and Ada. They've been through here," she said, moving closer to the voices and hid behind a wall. Lanna looked at the others and motioned them to keep their voices down.
The villagers grunted. "The new master and mistress won't be happy." One spoke in Spanish. "They're making their way to the castle."
"Don't worry," Another said. "They'll have a hard time with the Zealots and the others."
Sora not understanding a word they were saying looked at Jake and Lanna respectively. "What are they saying?" Sora whispers to them, before Jake puts a hand over his mouth not wanting to take chances. He looks with Lanna to see they haven't noticed them and sighs in relief, before answering Sora's question.
"They are talking about some new master and mistress not being happy Riku and Ada made their way into the castle. Although they mentioned some zealots are there as well to deal with them. So we got zealots to add to our list of fun and joy for the night." Jake said having a sarcastic tone when he said 'fun and joy'
Lanna listened, narrowing her eyes. "I count ten," she said, wondering who the new master and mistress was. There had to be a connection somehow. The villagers walked past each other as they did their rounds in the village, checking buildings and roads. It would be tight to slip passed them, considering how large they're group has gotten. "We can take them down with head shots, I think." She checked her bags, digging out one flash grenade and looked at Jake.
She smirked. "Feel like giving them something to cry about?"
Kairi wasn't so sure about this. "Can't you reason with them?" she asked, wondering how these two were so okay with killing them!
"They can't be reasoned with, Kairi. We've told Sora that, as well as Goofy and Donald. They lost their humanity long ago." Lanna said. "They will not hesitate to kill you and we can't hesitate either. I know you don't like it, but our world is different. Humans hurt each other for power gain, but not all are like that, thankfully." She looked at her. "I don't enjoy killing so get that out of your head."
"I know how you feel, Kairi...but she's right about them." Sora said not liking the thought of facing more humanoid ones, but tried to push it back in focus to protecting his friends. he already done it to save Goofy from a Chainsaw woman, he couldn't hesitate...he couldn't afford to, not now.
"Let's give'em hell, Lanna." Jake said with a grin, showing he was ready to take them all on. Partly because he wanted to blitz through as quickly as possible and finish this, plus he was used to killing. The other reason was because he could tell Lanna was still new to this and didn't want her to freeze up from being exposed with too many gory deaths all at once. Plus he still wasn't sure how used to this Sora really was and the kid wasn't talking...yet.
Lanna grinned and backed away from the wall so she would have a better aim to throw the grenade. Jake was right. She wasn't used to killing yet and she wasn't sure how she'll react to killing that many in one sitting. She breathed slowly and pulled the pin, throwing the grenade. It hit the ground, exploding on impact. The villagers cried out as they were blinded by a bright light.
"Let's go." Lanna said as she saw the villagers were stunned but not for long. They would have to react quickly or else they'd be facing the whole group. She lunged forward, aiming and fired at one, taking him out easily before turning to another to do the same.
"Cover me!" Jake shouts rushing forward as he lifts one leg and crushes one crouching ganado's head into the ground. Turning his head to mush, Before unloading with his Elephant Killer onto six more. Hating to waste the bullets, but knew time was very limited and couldn't afford to screw around. Rushing up behind another one, he wrapped his arms around their waist and leaned back quickly. Doing a Supplex that busted the ganado's head to mush and quickly got back to his feet.
Jake looks back to see Sora, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy look at him with wide eyes at how fast and with ease he killed 8 ganados. "Well don't just stare guys! Let's move while it's still clear!" Jake calls for them trying to snap them out of their shock. At least Lanna wasn't as shocked as them, already knowing how good he is and that he is far more experienced than her at this.
"Uh...right!" The group said nodding as they followed them to another gate. Lanna found a foot hole and started climbing up the gate like a monkey. She jumped over and unlocked it from the other side and pushed open the doors for them. Kairi stared at her, surprised.
"What?" Lanna asked, dusting her pants off. "Climbing is fun and easy." Kairi only shook her head. "Monkey," she said. Lanna shrugged and started down the road and grinned. The merchant was there with his blue torches, waiting for them. Kairi blinked and gripped Sora's arm, seeing the weird person. "Who is he?"
"Hello, Merchant," Lanna said. "I'd like to get an upgrade."
"He's there version of the Moogle we have at home" Donald said, feeling less nervous about the man.
"Yeah, so don't worry, Kairi. They go to him to get their guns upgraded, buy new ones, or buy other supplies they need." Sora said trying to make Kairi feel more at ease about this man, despite him having eyes similar to ganado, the fact he hasn't tried to kill them makes him friendly in Sora's book.
The Merchant merely chuckles seeing Lanna and Jake approach. "So it's still just you two strangers I do business with right? What would you like to buy? Got some new guns and a map of this castle if interested?"
"Wait!" Sora shouts getting their attention as he stops in front of Lanna and Jake. Making them raise an eyebrow seeing him dig into his enchanted pouch before pulling out the bag full of gold he got from the spider.
"Sorry, I forgot to give this to you guys sooner. You can use this to help buy whatever you need." Sora said handing it to Lanna as Jake let out a low whistle impressed at the size of the bag.
Lanna blinked in surprise at how big the bag was. "Holy!" she said and smiled a bit. "Thanks Sora! This is a big help!" This would help big time for upgrades of their weapons and other items they might need down the road. She smiled at the boy, impressed.
She looked at the Merchant and nodded. "A map will be good," she said as that was one of the maps she didn't have and that was lost years ago when her dad was here. Lanna looked at the new weapons and her eyes gleamed at one that was always her favorite. The sniper rifle. She wanted to work in the field. She was afraid to ask the price.
"I see you have good taste, senorita." The Merchant said with a chuckle seeing her eye the gun. "Tell you what, I'll see this to you for... 1,800 and the scope for 500, what do you say? Come with a full clip of ammo same as my other guns too." The Merchant said hoping to coax her into the sale.
Lanna thought for a moment and nodded. "Deal," she said as she gave him the gold from what she had and from the bag. Kairi looked at the gun confused. "What's so special about it?" she asked.
"Sniper rifle, it's goof for long distance and with the scope you can bring the image of your target closer," Lanna said. "It's one of the field's I'm training in besides hand to hand by Jake and in basic medicine. When your in the BSSA you need to know a little bit of each but you can specialize in one or two fields."
She picked up her new gun, testing the weight and scope. She grinned like a child in a candy shop. "Thank you, sir," she said to the merchant who gave a small wave of his hand.
"No, thank you for the business. I don't really like doing business with the ganado or the new master and mistress of the castle. Don't see them often as I try to avoid them, but I know trouble when I see it." The Merchant said with a small shudder as he mentioned the master and mistress of the castle. He honestly thought he seen it all, but seeing HIM back from the dead and the witch... He was starting to wonder just how much truly existed without their knowledge.
This caught the groups attention.
Lanna looked at him. "You've seen them?" she asked. "Do you know who they are?" She would gladly pay for the information. If they could find out who was behind all this and it would lead them in the right direction to her parents and her aunt and uncle. "We heard them mentioned once by the ganados."
"We'll pay if we have to, but we need to know who we are up against." Jake offers hoping to coax the information out as the merchant looked around making sure it was just them here before leaning in a bit. Gesturing with his hand for them to do the same as the group leaned closer in response.
"I never talked to them or let them see me, strangers, but I have seen them. One a man with blonde hair and wears all black clothing. Even wears pitch black sunglasses in and outside the castle. I only heard whispers of this man, but I swear he looks exactly as Albert Wesker was described in the underground when he was alive." The Merchant explains making Jake frown wondering if his old man really is alive after all...His mother said not to hate him, but after everything he did and was doing...
Lanna looked at Jake, knowing how he felt about the man and shivered. She had seen pictures of the man and heard recordings, but never met him. "And who's the woman? Should we be worried about her?" she asked and frowned. Did the mistress had a way of bringing Wesker back to life? Was that why he was here?
Donald and Goofy shivered, remembering the fight from earlier and what Sora had told them about the man he had faced. They would need to be wary of him.
"This...is gonna sound hard to believe, but the mistress is a witch. She has yellow eyes, green skin, and wears an all black cloak. I'm not sure, but I think she has horns on her head too or a very strange hat. Her power is no joke though, I seen her command those little black demons of hers and they do whatever she tells them too. Right now they patrol around the castle looking for something, but steer clear of the dungeons for some reason..." The Merchant said shivering in fright remembering the deadly cold gaze the woman held, he was damn lucky to have escaped her notice.
Kairi gasped softly and looked at Sora. "It sounds like Maleficent," she said. Donald looked grim and pale as did Goofy.
"It does," they agreed.
Lanna blinked. "Wait, what? You mean THE Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty?" she asked. Donald nodded. "That's the one. You don't want to meet her..."
"So that's how Wesker knew me..." Sora said gritting his teeth in rage, he figured it was one of his enemies, but HER?! That witch just can't stop causing trouble for other worlds!
"So now we have to kill the wicked witch and a revived tyrant, lucky us..." Jake said with a scowl not sure how to deal with this, but trying to keep his cool for everyone's sake. He was the experienced one here and they didn't need him losing his shit... No matter how tempting it may be to punch a hole in the wall or shoot some bastards heads off in rage at their shitty luck.
Lanna stared at the grim faces of her friends and sighed a bit. A witch and a revived dead guy...great. What would be next? Saddler? Simmons? She rubbed the back of her head. "Alright everyone. We need to calm down. We're all upset and rightly so, but if we let our anger get the better of us than we won't have a chance in doing what we set out to do."
Kairi glared. "You never had to fight Maleficent! Sora and Riku did!" she said
"You're right, I didn't Nor did I fight Simmons, Wesker or any of the assholes that have plagued our world or yours." Lanna said calmly. "But someone told me that if you start doubt yourself and thinking of death all the time than you will fail. I have doubts and fears like you but thanks to Jake, Sora and to Donald and Goofy, I can keep them under wraps because I remember that I am not the only one that has something to fight for, to live for."
Jake smiled seeing Lanna taking his advice to heart and calmed himself too. "Lanna's right, just cause we got old enemies to fight again, doesn't mean they are invincible. They died once and we can kill them again. We have to to save Lanna's parents and Elly's parents or they will be killed." Jake said as Sora grew determined.
"Then let's stop them! Once and for all!"
"That's the plan, kid, now I need to upgrade some guns of mine." Jake says turning to the Merchant. "Listen, I need an upgrade on firepower on my samurai edge and my AK47."
"Done." The Merchant said seeing Jake put the guns on the table and gave him the gold needed for payment.
Lanna looked at Sora, seeing the determined look on his face. She nudged him gently. "You gonna be alright?" she asked. "And is she that much of a nuisance?" She only knew the witch from the cartoon and thought she was creepy then. But from meeting Donald and Goofy, she figured that their worlds went a lot deeper than what was in the cartoon's.
Donald and Goofy nodded but said nothing, letting Sora explain to Lanna.
"Lanna...You have no idea, but I'll try to explain. Maleficent has been using the heartless, the black demons as the merchant calls them, for YEARS. It was thanks to them she was able to completely take over and nearly destroy Hollow Bastion and make it her personal castle. Plus her magic is no laughing matter, but it's when she's desperate she's most dangerous. Cause she turned into a dragon one time and we had a hard time killing her. Now that I think about it, I feel so stupid for not considering it was her sooner. She once brought Oggey Boggey back to life once in the past too and it looks like she must have revived Wesker. Probably that Mendez guy too considering he was killed by your father, but I wonder if she revived anyone else..." Sora explains before trailing in thought.
Lanna nodded, thinking of Saddler and Salazar, Krauser and maybe Luis, they were all possibilities but there were more people in her world that could do damage. "Let's hope...pray, she didn't," she said, staring at the cabin across the bridge. "We don't need any more bad luck..." She flexed her fingers which had been twitching heavily from nervousness. It happened when there was a lot going on at once. She gripped her hand into a fist relaxed. "..." She sighed a bit and frowned. "Of course she revived someone that loves bugs..."
Donald and Goofy chuckled a bit.
"Yeah, not so fun having to kill that bag of bugs twice, but at least he wasn't all that strong. His traps were the deadliest part of fighting him..." Sora said shrugging at the memory.
"It sounds dangerous" Lanna said, listening as she found it amazing by his adventures. She smiled lightly. "Maybe one day you can tell me about the rest of your adventures on the world's, Sora. I'd like to learn more."
Kairi swallowed a bit, watching the two as they waited for Jake to finish up with the upgrades. Donald and Goofy were sitting on the ground, thinking over what they've been through so far.
"Sure! Maybe I can tell you and your family after we rescue them and get you all home safe. I could use a vacation after this and would like to learn more about this world, if you don't mind." Sora said happy at the idea of spending time with Lanna and her family.
"I would love too," Lanna said smiling happily as she looked forward to that. "I could show you around in the city where I live. We're not always so crazy with monsters." She chuckled softly. She wanted to spend more time with him to learn more about him. She wasn't sure if this was a crush or not, but at the moment she just wants to be around him.
"How are you holding up, Jake?" Goofy asked, looking at the man that was dealing with the merchant. Donald was curious about the process of the upgrades.
"Good! I just finished, but thought of asking him for extra ammo for my AK as well. Bullets are running scarce and we need all the bullets we can get. Plus this gun eats ammo like crazy..." Jake said happy with his upgrades before turning to Lanna.
"Lanna, how about you? Want to upgrade your babies?"
Lanna looked up and grinned. "Yeah" she said as she headed to the merchant, pulling out her guns. "How much to upgrade them?" Upgrading them would be a good idea, one that she almost missed out on. She looked at Jake. "I've noticed. We've been finding more gold and herbs lately and not so much on ammo."
Kairi sat down on the ground, bored and thinking. "What happens when this is all over?" she asked no one in particular but looked at Sora. "How do we get home?"
Donald groaned, remembering that the gummi ship was destroyed.
"Don't know, way I see it the King is still in Disney Castle waiting for word from us and Cid rarely calls to check in. So whoever decides to come looking for us first I guess, but that's assuming they find this world as we never seen it before." Sora says with his hands behind his head and looking to the sky deep in thought.
The Merchant payed the talk little mind as he checked the guns. "That depends, senorita. What are you looking to upgrade, in what way, and by how much? I don't need to mention the cost varies from one thing being upgraded to another part of your guns." The Merchant says looking at her collection of pretty good guns.
Kairi sighed and nodded. "We'll be stuck here for a while than..." she said grumbling as she wanted to be far away from this world as possible. She wanted to be back home with her parents, Riku and Sora. She sighed a bit, resting her cheek on her hand.
"Don't worry Kairi! We'll figure it out!" Donald said, trying to cheer up the red head.
Lanna heard them talking and felt bad for them as their way home was destroyed. She hoped that help would come for them. She felt a twinge at the idea of Sora leaving, but shoved it away. "Reload speed and upped ammo count" she said to the merchant. She wanted to keep some Gold in case they would need something down the road.
"Okay then, which guns would you like upgraded? All of them or just certain ones on your mind?" The Merchant asks eyeing the guns knowing they were all good choices, including the newly bought sniper rifle with scope.
Jake meanwhile listened in and felt bad for them. Of all planets they HAD to crash land on it had to be theirs. Not that he was complaining, he was truly grateful for the help, but he knew if the Government got wind of them or worse their powers... it wouldn't be pretty.
Lanna had the same thoughts as Jake but said nothing as she looked at the merchant. "Just my Glock and Shotgun for right now," she said softly as she looked at her guns. "Thank you for the help as well."
"No need to thank me, senorita. Just business and business is good. As for the whole me telling you about the master and mistress, I did that because I am hoping you'll get rid of them for me. I was forced to flee and hide when Wesker came close to finding me at the stall where we last met. That's why I am here, hiding to avoid him and that witch." The Merchant explains working on the guns to allow more ammo and reload speed.
"What if we never get home?" Kairi asked. "What if we have to stay here? We'd never see our friends again."
"You don't know that yet, Kairi. Gotta stay positive!" Goofy said. "Plus Lanna and Jake have said they would help us and they don't break their promises."
'Goofy...' Lanna thought. 'Thank you..'
"Goofy is right, we won't let you guys wander around here alone, but understand that you need to follow our lead and do what we say to survive here. We got lots of problems on this world and we don't want anything to happen to you guys." Jake explains already thinking of letting at least some of them crash with him and Sherry, if the Kennedy's and Redfield's can't care for them all. Friends look out for one another after all and Jake is no different when it comes to his friends.
"See, Kairi, we got friends here to help. Just hang in there for now and think of it as a new adventure!" Sora said looking forward to learning more about this world. Though preferably under more friendly conditions than this...
"We plan too," Lanna said looking at the merchant. "We don't want them here anymore than you do." She watched him work on her guns. She wanted to get rid of them both so it would be safer here.
"Thank you, Jake." Donald said grinning as he was relieved about that but he was missing Daisy though. Hoping she was alright and not too worried about them. Kairi nodded slowly, sighing a bit. "Yeah...' she said. She was still nervous about being on this nut job world.
"Like Jake said, we'll figure it out once this mess is over and done with" Lanna said, believing it.
"So where do we go first to find your parents and Elly's parents, Lanna?" Sora asks before everyone heard a ringing tone and Jake pulled his phone. "Hang on guys, Sherry's probably calling for an update." Jake answering the call and on the screen was his a welcoming sight of a eager Elly and a Sherry apologetic, but smiling Sherry.
"I take it little Elly wants to hear from Uncle Jake?" Jake asks with a smirk on his rugged face.
"We're gonna head through this section and pick one path from the fork in the road." Lanna said remembering that once they get to the fork lift they would be at the castle.
"Yes!" Elly said giggling happily. "Hi Lanna!" Sherry chuckled a bit at the young girls enthusiasm.
Lanna chuckled a bit. "Hi kiddo," she said, hearing her cousin. Elly looked at Jake. "Any news, Uncle Jake?" she asked, looking hopeful. Sherry looked at her husband. "How is everything?"
"Well, we helped Sora rescue one of his friends and met up with the other one. So they are safe and we are making our way into the castle that belonged to the midget." Jake informs.
Sherry nodded at that. "Ah, Salazar" she said, remembering what Leon had told them about the mission. "Where are you guys now?" She couldn't get much info from the background as it was dark now.
"We're half way to the castle now," Lanna said. "We just have to get to the lift." She checked her blade, making sure it was sharp and clean. She looked around and was glad to see no resistance so far or any signs of traps yet.
"Other then that, we also ran into Ada Wong. She's confident they are in the castle and making her own way there, but we also ran into a problem." Jake said not sure how Sherry would react to this, but he wanted to keep her in the loop. Even if he was mixed on how to feel about possibly seeing his old man for the first time in his life. Especially after everything he heard the man had done in his past and how his mother loved him so much despite not being there for them.
Sherry looked at Jake. "What is it?" she asked, feeling that something was off. "What did you find out?" She knew about the relationship between Ada and the Kennedy's and the Redfield's. It wasn't a pleasant experience, seeing the tension rise when the woman was mentioned. Leon had even admitted that he wasn't sure what his relationship was with the woman before he got with Claire.
"You remember the witch from Sleeping Beauty? She's here and she's got powers we never knew about before. One of them being reviving the dead...like she did with Mendez and...Wesker." Jake tells her still not so sure how to feel about seeing the bastard again. Heck, he doubts the bastard even recognized him when he passed him and knocked Sora away to fight the boy in private.
Sherry nodded, looking a bit confused. "Yeah, I remember" she said, wondering what the witch had to do with it but gasped loudly as she heard that the witch had revived Wesker and coughed. 'What?! How is that even possible?" she asked, not believing it. She never met Wesker but had heard the horror stories about him. "If that's true, than you are in danger. Jake...you need to be careful. I know he's your father, but you can't let him get to you."
She looked worried. "You and Lanna can't fight him alone"
"He's not, Sherry" Lanna reassured the woman. "He has me, Sora, Donald and Goofy with him." She didn't include Kairi as the girl maybe good with the basic magic, but she wouldn't stand a chance against a monster like Wesker. She wasn't trying to be rude and as much Lanna didn't really care for the red head she didn't want her to get hurt.
A feel Sora shared on concerns about Kairi fighting Wesker. Basic magic and fighting she can handle, but she lacks experience and proper training for anything below common heartless.
"Yeah, so don't worry, Sherry. Jake's never alone with us around!" Sora assures the worried woman, not that he blames her. "Heck, I fought the guy one on one and stood my ground against him." Sora tells her in hopes it'll convince her that Jake and Lanna will be safe.
"Didn't he get away because you was trying to knock him out?"
"Hey, I was hoping we could get him to tell us where Lanna's parents and Elly's parents were!"
"True, but I hope you know not to take it easy on him this time."
"I said I'll keep you guys safe and rescue your parents and I WILL do it. Regardless of whatever Wesker throws at me." Sora and Jake said back and forth at each other with no real heat, but Jake's concern was obvious only to Lanna and Sherry who is use to his tough guy front. The others weren't sure if this was just a conversation, banter, or a small argument between them.
Lanna and Sherry chuckled at the two of them, watching them. Kairi stared at Lanna and hear Sherry laughing, wondering what the joke was. Sherry smiled, seeing the two act and looked at Lanna. "How are you holding up on your first mission, Lanna?" she asked.
"Ah...well, very well" Lanna said quickly, not telling her about being infected with the possible plaga and gave a look at Donald and Goofy that said not to tell her. Sora and Jake seeing it nod in agreement, Jake hated hiding this, but he didn't want to worry her. Especially since she had the responsibility to watch over little Elly and can't help them. She'd be going stir crazy at least in worry.
Lanna gave a relieved look at them and looked at Sherry. "I've had a few set backs, but I'm better. So far no large group has been at us yet but hopefully they won't." She said and gave a goofy smile, trying to ease the mood a bit. "By the time this is over, I think I might earn a few stripes."
Sherry smiled lightly. "I wouldn't be surprised. You have good teachers," she said. Lanna smiled. "The best." she said, knowing Jake and the other's were stern and hardly went easy on her but she was grateful for it.
Jake couldn't help grinning at the praise he was given as one of her teachers and to be honest she has truly come far as his student too. "How are you right now, Supergirl?" Jake asks wanting to be sure his wife and the child were as okay as they appear.
"I'm doing good, worried but Elly has been keeping me busy." Sherry said, hearing the young girl in the back as she was watching a movie, Frozen. "Elly's been a bit off and restless." Elly was worried about her parents, wanting them to come home. She had begged them to take her with them but since she was only 9 and not yet old enough to start training she was forced to stay home. "She's been practicing her skill at video games to pass the time."
"Make sure the kid eats her veggies, you know how she tends to be sneaky." Jake says with a playful smile remembering all the times he caught her trying to hide the veggies to avoid eating them.
"I will," Sherry said and heard Elly gag at the mention of veggies. "Ew!" the young girl said. Sherry laughed at the girls reaction and looked at Jake. "She'll like them eventually."
Lanna chuckled a bit. "It may take awhile," she said, remembering how she didn't like veggies either at that age.
"Wait till you have your own kids, Lanna. You'll go through the same thing." Sherry said smirking. Lanna blinked. "Hey! I don't even have a boyfriend! Little early for kids, isn't it?" That earned a few chuckles from Donald and Goofy.
"I wouldn't be too sure of that~" Jake teased with a knowing smirk on his face.
Lanna's face turned beat red as she glanced at Sora before looking away. "I don't know what your talking about!" she said quickly, hearing the merchant chuckle. Sherry raised a brow at that. "Oh? Someone have a crush?" she teased.
"N-Nothing like that!"
Donald and Goofy burst out laughing. Lanna didn't look at them so they wouldn't see how red she was. She just hoped Sora didn't get the idea but could feel daggers being thrown at her by Kairi.
"I'll tell you ALL about it later, Sherry. For now though, we have to get moving and continue the rescue operation. For safety reasons though...I suggest to keep a gun on you, super girl. With Wesker back alive, I don't want you taking chances." Jake said hoping she would be kept out of this, but he also knew Wesker and Chris had a bad past. He may not know the details yet, but he knew it was long and bloody. He wouldn't put it past Wesker to come for their child under Sherry's watch.
Sherry grew serious and nodded. "I will," she said as she always kept her gun in safe, fully loaded but with the safety on. "Just be careful, all of you." She didn't want anyone to get hurt on this mission but she knew how dangerous things could get quickly on a mission, especially if your dealing with a psycho.
"We will, Sherry, I'll contact you once we safely rescued Leon, Claire, Chris, and Jill. But feel free to check in when you need to or want to talk." Jake said before they both hung up and turns his attention to his friends. "Well guys, we best get started on gonna storm the castle, slay the witch, dethrone a tyrant, and save the day." Jake said with smirk.
