Sam bent down and kissed Jade's forehead as the nurses, wheeled her out of the room, to get her prepared for surgery. "I love you Jade."
"I love you to Daddy."
"Mr. Evans, don't worry we are great at what we do, your daughter will be fine. The Surgery will last about an hour. She's in good hands." Blaine said, offering him a smile. "I will make sure my intern gives you updates as we go. Just, stay calm. It will be fine." He turned to leave. "See you in there Dr. Jones."
Mercedes offered him a nod. "Yep." Mercedes pulled out her phone looking at Sam. "I am going to text Mic, let her know that Jade is here, then I am going to get ready to head in. Are you going to be okay here by yourself?"
Sam sighed heavily. "Um..uh yeah, I can call Mike, he can wait with me."
She nodded. "They are going to put you in the waiting room, and like Blaine said, someone will come out to talk to you about halfway through. Surgery is only an hour, so it will go by pretty fast."
"My daughter! Where the hell is my daughter!"
Sam and Mercedes turned to see Penny running into the hospital room. "Sam where is she!"
Mercedes offered Penny a small smile. "She's headed to surgery, she is fine."
"The hell she is! What happened! She was fine when I dropped her off!" Penny spat.
"Penny, our daughter is in surgery so forgive me if I don't feel like going back and forth with you right now."
"You don't feel like it! I swear Sam you are so damn selfish!"
Mercedes shifted, looking at them both. "I understand that tensions are high, and that both of you are scared, but now is not the time to turn on each other."
Sam looked at Penny. "She's right, Jade is strong, she is going to be fine Penny, we have to have faith. I talked to the doctor doing the surgery, and he said that Appendicitis is more common than we think."
Penny sighed, running her hands through her hair. "I just…I got so scared when you called. I didn- I."
Sam nodded, walking over to her. "It's okay, I was the same way when I found her. But she is in good hands so let's just put positive thoughts out there."
Penny nodded, moving to hug Sam. "She's our little girl, I just want to know she's okay."
Mercedes looked at one of the interns as they walked by. "Jenkins can you please take Mr. Evans and Mrs. Howell to the waiting room on the fifth floor. Make sure they get their visitor badges for that floor. "
"Yes, Dr. Jones, right away."
"Sam I will come find you as soon as I make sure everything is okay with Jade."
Sam moved away from Penny and wrapped his arms around Mercedes. "Thank you." He said softly, kissing her softly
She sighed as she walked out the room "Anytime."
Sam hadn't been able to really breathe the whole time Jade was in surgery, and even while she was in recovery in the ICU, he felt like he couldn't fully relax until he knew that Jade was a hundred percent okay. So the moment she was moved into her own room, Mercedes finally convinced him to go home and change and to bring Jade a change of clothes.
As he walked into the room he froze, the sight before him was too beautiful to ruin. Mercedes, Jade, and Mic were laid out on the bed, Jade laying in Mercedes arms, and Mic sitting in the chair but laying on Jade's legs.
He pulled his phone out and took a photo, shaking his head smiling as he walked over to them. Gently he tapped Mercedes on the shoulder, she opened one eye groaning before shutting it. He chuckled, tapping her again and this time she opened both eyes, blinking a few times before offering him a tired smile.
"I guess there's no room for me…" He whispered teasingly.
Mercedes snickered. "Seems not, they both have me trapped."
Sam pulled up the second chair, sitting down beside the bed. "So what was that about you loving me?" He asked and she couldn't help smiling.
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean." She deflected. "Besides, now is not the time for that. Jade will need you to be home with her for at least the next two days and you'll need to be mindful that there are certain things she can not eat right now."
"I love you too, you know?"
Mercedes stared at him. "I know just like you know I love you."
Sam smiled. "You know, it might benefit Jade to have you there while she is recovering."
"What?" She asked turning more towards him.
"I mean it makes sense right? For you to stay with us, make sure Jade is okay, and well Mic would have to stay too, to keep Jade company."
"Oh so it would be strictly to benefit Jade?" She said raising an eyebrow.
"Of course, to make sure she is okay." He said taking her hand in his.
"And what happens once she feels better?"
Sam smiled. "I mean once you move in there really isn't a reason for you to move out."
Mercedes laughed. "Oh really?"
"Of course, I mean that's so much to move it just makes sense. And my house is pretty damn big."
Mercedes nodded staring at him. "Yes. As long as Mic and Jade are okay with it…"
"I want my own room." Mic mumbled.
"Duh you aren't sharing mine." Jade mumbled back.
Mercedes laughed shaking her head. "I guess that a yes from everyone."
Sam stood and leaned in kissing her. "Well that saved me a few bribing ideas."
Mercedes kicked off her heels as she pulled off her lab coat. It had been a few weeks since Jade's surgery and she and Mic had moved in. Everything was an adjustment for sure, she had spent 13 years living alone, so sharing a bed and bathroom with Sam was new. But his closet gave her a reason to go shopping.
The beautifully built and lit walk in closet was so big her clothes only filled up half. Though she took over Sam's shoe rack. The double vanity in the bathroom was great but Sam's shower was gorgeous, the marble tile, waterfall shower head and jets from the side. They calmed her after a long day at work.
"Hello Ms. Jones. Dinner should be in about an hour." Katherine said. "The girl's aren't staying, they are actually getting ready for their party so it's just going to be you and Mr. Evans."
"Katherine, I told you to call me Mercedes."
"Right, Mercedes." She smiled. "Mr. Evans is in his gameroom."
"Can you tell him I am here? I wanna wash this day off."
Katherine nodded. "Sure thing."
As Mercedes walked up the stairs she smiled to herself. When Sam asked her if she was okay with Katherine staying on, Mercedes said of course, they could both use the help.
Walking towards her room she stopped smiling at Jade and Mic, they were in Jade's room getting ready.
"You two look like you are ready to turn heads." Mercedes beamed.
"Right! We are meeting Adam and Bryan." Jade smiled.
"Bryan? Ohhh tell me about him." Mercedes asked, leaning against the wall.
"He's seventeen, hot and Valedictorian."
"Almost as hot as Adam." Mic added.
Jade looked at her for a moment…. "Equally hot?"
Mic nodded. "Deal."
Mercedes laughed. "Well you guys have fun, I talked your dad into letting you stay out til one in the morning. Don't make me regret it."
Mercedes turned to leave but Mic stopped her. "Hey mom, you remember your diamond hoops? And the tear drop diamonds? Can we borrow them please?"
"Yeah please Mercedes? Our outfits are missing something." Jade asked along with Mic.
"Fine, they are in my jewelry box in my bathroom. Grab them before you leave." Mercedes said walking to her room. Taking her hair out of her messy bun, Mercedes sat on the bed as she untucked her silk top from her pencil skirt.
"Well hello there beautiful." Sam said, walking into the room. He leaned down and kissed her softly. "Gotta admit, seeing you in here, it's a beautiful thing. I love waking up to you. Coming home to you…"
Mercedes smiled. "Me too, and the girl's are getting along and having fun. This was a great idea Sam. It feels like we are a real family."
Sam pulled her up to him. "We are a family. And right now, I want to show you how excited I am to have you here with me."
"Sam, I just got home and I am about to take a shower."
Sam smiled, spinning her in his arms and pulling her back against his front, kissing her neck. "Mmm I was just thinking I am so dirty."
Mercedes chewed her bottom lip as Sam's hand roamed down her body. "Sam…you are trouble."
"Mmmm yes I am." He teased unbuttoning her blouse and laying it on the bed before his hands roamed down to her skirt.
Mercedes stepped out of the skirt and turned to pull off Sam's shirt. "How was work anyway?"
Sam pulled off his belt, snapping it with a smile and a wink, causing Mercedes to giggle and shake her head.
Backing into the bathroom, Mercedes used her index finger to call Sam closer to her. Turning the water on she smiled. "Let's go Evans, time to conserve water."
Jade smoothed down the pleated skirt smiling. "You were right, this skirt does make my ass look bigger."
Mic smirked. "Told you. And you know us Jones women know about big asses."
"Yeah, learning my dad is an ass man, not something I ever wanted to know. Though he did do well, the other women he tried to date were bimbos and well not nice. This one woman went on one date with him and declared she was gonna be my step mom. But your mom, I really like her."
Mic laughed. "My mom is pretty awesome, most men tried to date her but she never gave them the time of day."
Jade's phone beeped and she smiled. "Adam and Bryan are here. Where did your mom say the earrings were?"
"In her bathroom, come on." Mic walked to the room knocking on the door. "Mom? Mom?" She walked in further, hearing the shower running. "Oh she's taking a shower, let's just grab them real quick."
"You sure she won't mind?" Jade asked.
Mic smiled. "I do it all the time it's not a big deal."
The girl's walked into the bathroom going towards the jewelry box. "You mom has really good taste."
Mic smiled. "Wait til you see my Aunt Tana's closet. She and my mom have so many high end things."
"Sam! Oh my God! Right there!"

DAD!?" Jade and Mic screamed at the same time.

Mercedes looked behind her to see the girls covering their eyes and screaming. Her heart fell immediately. "OH GOD SAM GET ME A TOWEL!"
"WHY WOULDN'T YOU TWO KNOCK!" Sam said using Mercedes to cover him.
"That's it. I need therapy. I am scarred for life. FOR LIFE!" Jade screamed.
"My eyes! That image is burned into my mind now!" Mic cried.
The girls ran out the room and down the stairs.
"That was mortifying. We need to leave now!" Jade said, grabbing her bags.
"Duh! They're gonna wanna talk about that! And I am never gonna talk about that!"
Jade opened the door and shook her head. "I mean I never ever…my parents never…Oh God I am gonna be sick."
"Just stop…we need to think of anything else."
The girls got into Adam's SUV and he and Bryan smiled. "Hey ladies, you look great!" Adam said.
Jade and Mic frowned and Adam looked back at them. "What's going on? You guys look a bit..off."
"Can we please just go…drive." Jade said.
"I thought you guys were good now? Are you fighting? Did your parents fight?"
"Oh no they aren't fighting!" Jade bit out.
Adam glanced at Mic and sighed. "Guys you can't go to this party bringing people down. What's wrong."
"Leave it Adam!" Mic said through gritted teeth.
"No! Jade we are friends and Mic you are my girl, if something is wrong then let's talk about it." The girl's stared at him and he folded his arms. "I'm not driving off til you tell me."
"WE SAW OUR PARENTS HAVING SEX YOU IDIOT! NOW DRIVE THE DAMN CAR!"
Adam's eyes grew wide before he turned and quickly peeled off. "That's… so… babe I'm sorry."
Bryan looked at Adam. "I thought you said her mom was hot?" He asked before Adam punched him in the arm. "Ow! What was that for?"
"I told you that in confidence." Adam mumbled.
Michaela shook her head. "Can we not talk about my mother's… hotness?" She asked, gagging. "I think we should avoid the house for at least a week."
Jade nodded. "Agreed… anywhere but there…" she said, as her phone began to ring and she quickly threw it after seeing it was her dad.
"What's wrong?"
"My dad's calling…" Jade replied, shuddering.
Michaela felt her phone vibrating, she checked it before seeing it was her aunt and let out a relieved breath. "Hey aunt Tana!"
"So you saw your mom doing the shower shuffle and didn't think to call me?"
She groaned. "Please… the visuals are still fresh! I want to forget it all, I wanna forget, forgetting."
Santana snickered. "Did you knock?"
"No, I've never had to before…"
"Hate to break it to you but your parents were worse, no room was safe… we had to knock on everything just to make sure they remembered they had guests."
Michaela gagged. "Eww why are you telling me this?"
"Eh, it's entertaining. Besides, things have changed. It's not just the two of you so if you don't want to see that again I'd get a bell. Because I remember your dad saying she had the best p-"
Michaela hung up, turning her phone off. "I need to seriously reevaluate the adults I have in my life…"
Jade laughed. "We both do! Ugh… what if they have a kid?"
Michaela frowned. "I'm not opposed but we'd be so much older than it… they would force us to babysit."
"This fake kid is already ruining my life." Jade replied making them both laugh.
"Let's just focus on having fun and we'll worry about them after."
"Agreed… besides your mom is pretty great so I wouldn't mind having another sibling from her."
Mercedes put down her phone sighing as she looked at Sam. "She's not answering me, but Tana texted and said they are okay. I can't believe they walked in on us."
"Hey, they should have knocked. Not my fault they saw things…you know…they are gonna be back pretty late, and we didn't get to finish."
"No! No we are not having sex Sam. Not ever again!" She said walking away from him.
"Not ever? That doesn't seem fair, here let me show you why we should rethink this." Sam said, removing his shirt.
"Sam! This is serious!"
"I know, you are still in that robe. Come on, you will feel much better when you are out of it." He said moving behind her.
Mercedes turned in his arms. "Were you not paying attention? Our daughter's caught us having sex and you think having more sex will make things better?"
Sam stared at her for a moment. "Umm yes."
Mercedes threw her hands up. "Never again Evans! If you are horny, take care of yourself!"
Sam watched her walk away and frowned. "You know I figured I would stop having sex with myself when my girlfriend moved in." Sam called after her.
"You figured wrong!" She spat back.
Sam followed her to the room. "Look, we don't have to have sex but let's at least enjoy the night. We haven't had the house to ourselves in a while."
Mercedes sighed. "Fine we can watch a movie, but the moment you try something I am going to bed."
"Fine. I am gonna make them pay for cock blocking me." Sam mumbled to himself.
Mercedes shook her head, trying to stifle her laugh. "What movie should we watch and will there be snacks?" She asked, still amused.
"How about we get dressed and go to the movies? No point of staying home with all the… temptations around" He suggested, pouting.
"As if being in public has ever stopped you but okay, give me twenty minutes!"
Sam mumbled, grabbing his phone and calling his parents.
