Thank you for kind reviews. I really appreciate them.
I don't own Bones.
Oooooooooooooo
"Hey Bones, Lester will be here any minute, you want to come with us?" Buttoning up his baseball shirt, Booth stared at Brennan as she picked up her lap top. "The game isn't sold out and we don't have to use my season tickets."
Brennan paused and shook her head. "No, I want to work on my new book today. Since you'll be gone for most of the day, it will allow me to organize my notes and start a draft."
Grabbing his crutches off of the floor next to the bed, Booth stood up. "Okay, just making sure."
She knew Booth wanted her to come, but she really needed to work on her book. Carrying her lap top into the living room, she placed it on the dining room table and turned to face him as he left the bedroom. "What time do you think you'll be home?"
Cautiously moving across the living room, Booth stopped when he was standing next to Brennan. "Probably before six unless it goes into extra innings. I'll call you if it runs over. Would you like me to pick up something for you for dinner on the way home, you can work on your book and you won't have to stop and cook?"
Grateful for the offfer, Brennan kissed him. "Thank you."
Returning her kiss, Booth pulled her into a tighter embrace. "You're definitely welcome."
A sharp rap on the door breaking their mood, Booth laughed. "Have fun." Making sure his crutches were firmly under his arms, he moved over to the door and opened it. "What the hell are you wearing?"
Removing his hat from his head, Lester looked at it. "We aren't all Phillies fans, Booth."
Not sure where Lester could have even found a hat like that, Booth reached up and made sure his hat was firmly in place. "Dragons? Really?"
Shrugging his shoulders, Lester thought the hat was cool. "Yeah, the Chunichi Dragons. My brother lived in Nagoya for a couple of years and he got me interested in their baseball team. They won the 2007 Japan Series."
Booth rolled his eyes and pointed towards the elevator. "Well, I'm more partial to the Yokohama Baystars . . . I mean Yokohama DeNa Baystars."
Surprised, Lester followed Booth to the elevator. "You follow Japanese baseball? Why?"
Pressing the down button, Booth glanced at his younger friend. "I have a friend, Ken Nakamura who lives in Yokohama. He's a big fan and the couple of times I've been to Japan we went and saw a couple of games."
Impressed, Lester entered the elevator car after the door opened and Booth entered behind him. "I'd like to go to Japan some day, but I'm going to go see the Dragons play when I'm there."
Unimpressed, Booth pressed the Lobby button and shrugged his shoulders. "Your loss."
Oooooooooooooo
Her notes organized, Brennan was outlining her story when she heard a knock on her door. Irritated that someone was interrupting her, she saved her file and stalked across the room to peek through the spy hole in the door. Surprised, she opened the door. "Dad, what are you doing here?"
Holding up a white paper bag, Max smiled at her. "Well, I thought it had been awhile since I've seen you and I thought I'd come over for a visit. I brought ice cream."
Resigned that her book would have to wait, Brennan took the bag, stood back and allowed her father to enter the apartment. "Booth is at a ball game."
"Good, that means we get more ice cream." After he entered the apartment, Max studied his daughter. "You look good, Sweetheart. How have you been?"
Carrying the ice cream into the kitchen, Brennan retrieved two bowls and scooped some ice cream in them. After she placed the left over ice cream in the freezer, she gave her father one of the bowls with a spoon and placed the other one on the kitchen table and sat down. "I'm fine. Booth is fine."
Curious, Max sat down at the table and picked up the spoon. "So are you still going on the dig in Canada? That's in two weeks isn't it?"
Slowly shaking her head, Brennan scrapped some ice cream onto her spoon. "No, I've decided to skip that dig. I have things I need to take care of here."
Not sure what was going on, Max decided that Booth was probably to blame for her changing her mind. "Oh come on, Honey. You were so excited about the dig the last time I talked to you. Whatever you're working on can wait until you get back. Go . . . have fun. . . . unless this has something to do with Booth. Did he talk you out of going? That's pretty selfish on his part if he did . . ."
Interrupting him, Brennan shook her head. "Booth wanted me to go. It's my decision to stay. I have obligations and they have to come first."
Puzzled, Max scooped up some of the ice cream from his bowl. "What obligations? What's more important than digging up bones? You love that stuff."
Swallowing her spoonful of ice cream, Brennan placed her spoon in the bowl. "Booth is still recovering from his injuries. He says he's doing well and he is physically but . . . he has terrible nightmares. They're so . . . They frighten me sometimes. The only thing that seems to pull him out of them is when I hold him and talk to him. Most of the time he doesn't remember what the dreams are about or that he even had them but . . . he's so afraid. When he's caught up in one his nightmares he's so afraid . . . At first he had them every night, but they seem to be slowing down. In the last five days he's had the nightmare twice . . . I love him, Dad. I don't want him to suffer and I can't leave him right now. He needs me here."
Worried, Max stared at his daughter. "Are the dreams connected to his accident or what?"
Nodding her head, Brennan stared at the ice cream. "I think he relives that crash over and over . . . Just from the words he's spoken while he's in the dream it . . . it seems like he's reliving his kidnapping and the crash."
His worry growing, Max placed his spoon back in the bowl, reached over and placed a hand over her hand. "Honey, maybe he needs help. What he went through was pretty serious. Hell what you went through was bad enough."
Shaking her head, Brennan sniffed in disdain. "I don't believe in psychology. It isn't quantifiable."
Max hated the idea of his daughter trapped at home because of Booth and his problems. Removing his hand, Max leaned back against his chair. "You know if you want to go on the dig I could move in to the apartment and keep an eye on Booth for you."
"If there is one thing I'm sure of Dad, Booth would not want a baby sitter while I'm gone." Picking up her spoon and poking at her melting ice cream Brennan sighed. "Booth would be very upset if he thought I thought he needed one. He's very independent and since he really doesn't remember most of the nightmares he has then he wouldn't understand my concern."
Drumming his fingers on the table, Max nodded his head. "Look, if you decide you want to go then let me know in advance. I'll come up with an excuse to move in for a few weeks . . . water damage in my apartment . . . something like that. If it looks like his nightmares aren't really much of a problem for him then I'll go back home. I don't want to insult him or embarrass him anymore than you do . . . I want to help you and him if you'll let me."
Brennan grimly shook her head. "I don't think that's a wise plan Dad. I'm just going to skip this dig and in a few months if I get another invitation then I'll except it. By then Booth will be well enough to go with me. I really want him to go on a dig with me. He can see what I do and why and he really seems interested in learning what is involved in a dig. He really wants to be with me and . . . " Swallowing, Brennan wiped a tear from her cheeks. "I never thought I could be so happy in a monogamous relationship, but I am. I trust Booth and I do love him. The amazing thing is he loves me."
"I know you do, Baby, but don't say it that way." Patting her hand, Max smiled at her. "Booth adores you. You'd have to be blind not to see that. I'm happy for both of you."

Reviews would be great. Thank you.
