Eight || Training
When Foxpaw awoke, she smelled a scent, which she recognized to be Ashtree, Snowpaw's mentor, and Leaffang, Stripepaw's mentor.
She sat up, and Ashtree spoke, "Foxpaw, you're training with us today. We'll be practicing battle moves today, but tomorrow we'll show you around the territory. Hopestar requested she do that herself, and she cannot today."
"What are we practicing? I may know it already."
"We will be practicing back kicks, but if you don't know that we could try doing a front paw blow instead?" Leaffang suggested.
"No, I'll try doing the back kicks, I've already been taught the front paw blow." Foxpaw said.
"Alright then. C'mon, we should get going." Ashtree mewed impatiently.
Foxpaw was surprised at how none of them questioned how she knew those moves, but she was grateful for it. She still had trouble talking about her family.
"Is Shadowpaw coming?" Stripepaw asked. Fox noted that he had been quiet for most of the time that they had been there.
"No, it'll just be all of us. She's training with Bluesky today." Leaffang told him. Foxpaw had never met her, but she remembered she was Shadowpaw's mentor and deputy.
They began to walk, Stripepaw and Ashtree leading, and Leaffang and Foxpaw behind them.
"Hopestar wasn't able to train you today, and she requested to show you around herself tomorrow or so, so she asked us to take you for the day." Leaffang told Foxpaw.
"Oh alright. Thank you." Foxpaw responded back right as they got to where they would train.
Foxpaw could smell what seemed like a small creek in front of them. The others went to the right and she followed. She could sense that where they were was a small dip in land with a creek in one corner and surrounded by trees. She walked around, feeling the ground, as the others waited.
Once she was done, she walked over to them and said, "I believe I am ready now."
"Got it." Ashtree said, and began to explain what they would do. "Because Stripepaw and Snowpaw have been training for a while, we will be doing some harder techniques than what you may be able to do. Leaffang can take you over to another spot and teach you some othe-"
"I can do what you're doing." Foxpaw interrupted.
"Are you sure? It's pretty advanced stuff." Ashtree asked.
"Yes. I can do it."
"Alright." Ashtree sighed.
"Stripepaw you'll be against Foxpaw. Show her some moves and Foxpaw, use the moves you know. I need to see how you fight." Leaffang said. Sitting down somewhere to the right of them.
