Thank you for your continued interest in my story.
I don't own Bones.

Sitting at the dining room table, Booth tapped a few keys on his laptop as Brennan and Max entered the apartment carrying luggage. "Can I help?"
As she walked through the living room, Brennan smiled at Booth. "No, we're almost done."
After saving his file, Booth closed his lap top and reached for his beer. After his wife and father-in-law left the guest bedroom, Booth asked, "Do you want me to start dinner or do you want to go out tonight?"
Moving over to the door, Max shook his head. "I won't be here kids, so don't worry about me. This is my bowling night. I'll be back around nine or so."
Before her father opened the door, Brennan replied, "Alright." Once her father was gone, she walked over to where Booth was sitting and sat down next to him. "I called Dr. Arsenault and I let him know I will be coming to the dig after all. He said that he has people at Ft. Beausejour prepping the site and setting up the needed equipment. He's quite pleased that I've changed my mind and that I'm coming. I contacted the bed and breakfast I originally made plans to stay at and they assured me that they have a room available. They had rented it out, but the couple planning to use it changed their minds and it's free again."
"Good, I was wondering where you were going to stay." Booth placed his beer bottle down on the table next to his lap top. "Did you contact that magazine and let them know you're going to be there?"
Thirsty, Brennan picked up the bottel of beer and sipped some of it. "Yes, they were going to send someone to the site anyway whether I was there or not. They wanted to interview me of course, but the dig itself is very interesting, so they're doing an article on that as well."
Amused with Brennan's lack of modesty, Booth watched Brennan finish his beer. "Good, then you're all set. Max is moved in, so that's taken care of. Too bad his apartment is being renovated, but at least he has a place to stay and it won't cost him anything."
The bottle now empty, Brennan placed it on the table. "While I'm gone if you'd like to look through the housing listings for a house that would be fine. It's a shame the house we looked at wasn't what we're looking for. Perhaps you could send me the details of the houses you're interested in in an attachment when you email me. When I get back we can start viewing houses. I'd like to move to a new house before it's starts snowing. Moving in the winter can be rather onerous."
Grabbing his crutches off of the floor, Booth agreed. "You got that right. So want to go out and eat or do you want me to cook something?"
"I think I'd like to go out this evening. Since I'll be leaving next Thursday I'd like to enjoy a nice meal out with you." Frowning, Brennan bit her lower lip.
Concerned at her change, Booth placed his hand on her arm. "What's wrong?"
Slowly shaking her head, Brennan sighed. "This will be the first time we will be separated since you moved in here with me."
Amazed that Brennan would bring that up, Booth leaned over and kissed her. "i know, but it'll be alright, you'll see. Two months isn't anything. You'll get to do what you like to do and that's the important part."
Sad at the thought of being seperated from Booth after all the things they'd been through, Brennan placed her hand over his hand. "Yes, the time will pass quickly, I'm sure. I just wish you were coming with me. I was looking forward to showing you how a dig is run and what's involved."
Kissing her once more, Booth rubbed her arm. "I know. I promise the next dig you go on I'll come with you. It'll be cool to see what you do. In the mean time, I'll get better and by the time you come home I'll be out of my cast and maybe my breathing will be better. It's all good. You'll see."

As far as Booth was concerned, the next few days flew by. Before he could prepare himself, Wednesday evening had arrived and he was going to have to say good-bye to Brennan the next day. Arriving home, both Brennan and Booth found a note on the kitchen table from Max.
I'm staying at a friend's place tonight. Max
Surprised, Brennan turned and grinned at Booth. "It would appear we have the apartment to ourselves tonight."
Moving over to where Brennan was standing, Booth glanced at the note and smiled. "Well how about that. Would you like to take advantage of that?"
A grin lighting up her face, Brennan placed her arms around Booth's neck. "I absolutely would."
Letting one of his crutches drop to the floor, Booth grabbed his wife into a closer embrace. "Well, let's not waste any time." Kissing her, Booth murmured, "I'm going to miss you."
Returning his kiss, Brennan let her lips linger on his. "I'm going to miss you too."

Calmly standing in the departure lounge, Booth kept his arm around her waist. "I wish I could come with you."
Her arm around his waist, Brennan listened as the announcer demanded that all passengers begin to board the plane. "I'll only be gone for two months." Moving so that she was now able to wrap both arms around him, Brennan kissed Booth, their kisses demanding and urgent.
Tapping her back, Lester cleared his throat. "Okay Dr. Brennan you need to go or stay. The ticket agent is giving you dirty looks now."
Reluctantly, Booth pulled away from Brennan giving her a quick peck on the lips. "Call me every night. I don't care how late, just call me. I want to make sure you're okay."
Stepping back from her husband, her hand lingering on his arm, Brennan nodded her head. "I will." Releasing his arm, she leaned over and picked up her carry on bag. "I'll only be gone for two months."
Sadly aware of just how long two months were, Booth forced himself to smile. "Just two months. I hope you have a lot of fun."
Slowly moving away, Brennan glanced back at Booth, she stopped and waved at him just before she entered the boarding tunnel. Watching him wave at her, she finally turned and marched towards the plane entrance.
Watching her move out of his sight, Booth lingered in the lounge until the last passenger walked through the door and the door was closed. Turning, Booth spoke to his companion. "Okay, I guess we can go now."
A little surprised, Lester glanced at the boarding gate one last time. "I don't know . . . for a minute I thought she'd change her mind."
Shaking his head, Booth smiled at his young friend. "Bones loves digs and I'm glad she went. She needs to be able to do what she loves. I'm not going to kill her enjoyment for the things she loves just because I can't go with her."
Lester knew that Booth was really disappointed that he had to stay behind. Patting Booth on the shoulder, Lester smiled at him. "Well, if all goes well, you should be able to go with her the next time. Just try not to get into another accident and break something."
"Yeah, I'll try to do that." As he moved away from the terminal, Booth glanced back at the boarding gate one more time. "This is going to be a long two months."

That evening, Booth heard his phone ring. Rolling over he snagged it from the nightstand. "Booth."
"I hope your day went well."
"We didn't find any more bodies in the Rose Garden so that's a plus."
Amused, Brennan laughed. "Yes, I'm sure it is . . . Aaron has started working on the site. He has several students helping as well as two grad students."
"Sounds like you have a enough people to help. That's good."
"The Bed and Breakfast is very close to where I'll be so that will be convenient."
"Great. That sounds great."
"I miss you, Booth. I've become use to sleeping with you and I find that I am not looking forward to sleeping by myself."
"Yeah, me too. Still, you won't be gone long."
"I love you Booth."
"I love you, Bones."
