I don't own Bones.

Sitting in Booth's office, Brennan glanced down at her phone and then back at Booth. "Detective Simmons is supposed to call me this morning about the results of our examination of the body that was found in the wall of the renovated house, but so far he hasn't called. I really don't like it when people don't follow through and don't contact me when they say they will. It's very annoying."

Booth placed his pen down and leaned back on his chair. "Maybe he got a case that's a little more current. I mean you think the victim has been dead for how many years?"

Resigned that she would have to wait, Brennan placed her phone in her jacket pocket. "She's been dead for approximately twenty two years. Angela has identified the victim as Cora Hogg. None of the records that Angela has researched show that Cora ever lived at that residence. The previous owner of the house bought it ten years ago and the owner before that had just walked away from the mortgage two years prior to that. His name was Richard Collier and he owned the property when Cora was killed and placed between the walls. Angela is searching for Collier now, but so far she hasn't been able to trace him from the time he walked away from his house and his mortgage."

His knee very itchy, Booth scratched it while he thought about what she'd said. "Well, it's a start anyway. Detective Simmons will appreciate what you have so far."

Irritated with Simmons, Brennan took her phone out of her pocket and glanced at it. "If he ever bothers to call me."

Amused, Booth assured her. "Oh, he'll call. Sooner or later he'll remember to call you . . . So want to go look at that house I told me about? We can go look at it this evening or do you want to wait for this weekend?"

Brennan considered the options and stood up. "I think we should wait until this weekend. Angela's baby shower is this evening and since I am helping with the refreshments and the party is at our apartment, I need to be there."

Resigned that his evening was probably a bust, Booth glanced at the door. "Yeah, I forgot . . . Another reason why we need a house. Now I'm going to be stuck in our bedroom until your party is over."

Uncertain if Booth was annoyed or not, Brennan advised him, "You could always go out for the evening. Perhaps Lester or Harris would like to go out with you."

"Nah, I don't mind." Booth picked up his pen and glanced at his paper sitting on the desk before him. "What I do mind is having to fill out a new budget every six months. They're a little too anal around here."

Moving over to the doorway, Brennan remarked, "It is very annoying. Thankfully, Cam is the head of the department and that is her concern not mine."

After she left the room, Booth smiled. "Bones giving Angela a baby shower." Sighing, a look of sadness crossed his face. "I wish it was her baby shower."

Propped up in bed, his right leg propped up on pillows, Booth heard squealing coming from the living room and smiled.

Opening another present, Angela gushed as she held up the mint green onesie with a small tiger printed on the chest. "This is cute and the matching cap, it's just so . . ." Stopping, she wiped her finger under he eyes to catch the falling tears, "It's just so cute."

Pleased that Angela liked it, Daisy proudly informed her, "My nephew has one just like it. He looks adorable in it and I'm sure your baby will too."

Placing the outfit back in the box, Angela set it aside. "Thank you." Moving a large box next to her chair, Angela grunted. "This is pretty big."

Since the box was big, Brennan helped the expectant mother move it closer to her chair. "It's from Booth. Even though he wasn't invited, he wanted to give you a present anyway."

Tearing off the paper, Angela smiled in a puzzled way at the gift. "A baby seat. That was very nice of him to buy this, but I already bought one last week. He knows that. I showed it to him the day I bought it."

A quick glance at the bedroom door, Brennan explained his reasoning. "You have more than one car and since you are new parents, Booth didn't think you'd consider the fact that having just one car seat can be problematic. He said you can keep one in your car and one in Hodgins car and you won't have to worry about transferring them between cars. That will be very convenient if or when emergencies arise."

Overhwelmed, Angela stood up, walked over to the bedroom door, knocked sharply, opened the door and entered the room. Much to Booth's surprise, the expectant mother strode around the bed and once she was beside Booth, she leaned over and hugged him. "Thank you."

Unsure what was going on, Booth patted her back and waited for her to release him. "Uh . . . okay, you're welcome."

Laughing, Angela released her friend and sat down beside him. "The extra car seat is a great idea. Thank you."

Enlightened, Booth smiled at his friend. "Oh . . . well, okay then. I'm glad you like it."

Angela felt a kick and rubbed her stomach. "I do, thank you. Would you like to join our party?"

Shaking his head, Booth held up his book. "No thank you. I'm fine."

Nodding her head, Angela stood up. "Well, when we cut the cake, I'll bring you a piece."

Pleased that he was going to get some cake, Booth grinned. "Sounds great, thanks."

Walking over to the doorway, Angela turned to look at Booth. "I'm so happy that you're getting better, Booth. I really am."

After she left the room, Booth shook his head, tossed his book on the bed and reached over to his nightstand for his laptop. Opening it, he began to search for houses.

Opening the box, Angela felt tears escape her eyes again. "Oh . . . Oh, this is so . . ." Turning, she stood up and leaned over Brennan, "Thank you Sweetie."

Pleased that Angela liked her present, Brennan smiled. "Booth loves trains and so does Parker so when I saw that this train is actually a humidifier I thought perhaps your baby would like it too."

Wiping her cheeks with a napkin, Angela laughed at her silliness. "I knew I should have brought more Kleenex with me."

Prepared, Cam opened her bag and handed Angela a packet of tissues. "I came prepared."

Taking the tissues, Angela laughed again. "I'll learn some day. Thank you." Blowing her nose, the artist looked at her friends and felt overwhelmed by their kindness. "Thank you so much for the gifts and the party. I . . . thank you."

Clapping her hands, Daisy stood up. "Oh, lets cut the cake. I am so hungry and that cake looks so delicious."

Grateful for the diversion, Angela stood up, walked over to the table and looked at the cake. Picking up a knife, she started to cut it. "Bren, I promised Booth I'd bring him a piece of cake once we cut it. Do you think he'd like a big piece or a very big piece?"

Amused, Brennan stood next to her friend with a plate ready for a slice of cake. "He'll probably appreciate a very big piece."

Placing a huge slice of cake on a plate, Angela picked up the plate and hoped the slice was big enough. "I hope he likes chocolate."

Snorting, Brennan nodded her head. "He loves chocolate, Angela, believe me."

ooooooooooooooooo

Handing Booth the plate, Angela next handed him a fork. "Here you go." Glancing at the laptop lying on the bed next to Booth, she noticed the realtor's logo on the screen. "I thought you already found a house that you and Brennan are interested in."

Grateful that Angela had brought her a large slice, Booth took the plate from her. "I did. I'm looking around just in case that house turns out to be a loser. We want to find something before winter gets here. I really don't want to move in the snow."

"Brr, you're right." Leaving the room, Angela closed the door behind her. Walking over to where Brennan was standing, Angela placed her hand on her friend's arm. "He's researching houses. You two are really serious about moving."

Nodding her head, Brennan swallowed her bite of cake and placed the plate on the table next to her. "Yes, we'd like to have a baby some day and we'd like to be in a house by then. Booth says that raising kids in an apartment sucks and I agree with him."

Reviews would be great, thank you.
