Thank you reviewing my story. I appreciate it.

I don't own Bones.

Ooooooooooooooo

Meeting Detective Simmons at the Royal Diner, Angela sat down across from him and handed him a USB drive. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I've been out for six weeks and once I was back I had a huge backlog of things I had to take care of. I started doing a search three days ago and well, it looks like James Collier's death was just a set up to evade the police after all. I think I may have found him. He's in Houston, Texas. He's been there for about ten years living under an alias. All the information you need is on the stick for you."

With the waitress standing at his elbow waiting to take their orders, Simmons ordered a cup of coffee and a chicken salad. Angela, rummaging through her purse, checked her phone for messages and then placed an order for iced tea and a bowl of vegetable soup.

Once the waitress had left the table, Simmons continued their conversation. "Thanks Ms. Montenegro. Hows's that baby boy of yours, Michael right?"

Pleased that he'd remembered her baby's name, Angela smiled. "He's doing great. It was hard leaving him with a sitter, but I did it. Thanks for asking about him . . . You can call me Angela . . . Thank you for meeting me here. I was hungry and Jack is in the middle of an experiment, so he couldn't leave yet. I don't have time to deliver the drive this afternoon so if you hadn't come it would have been tomorrow at the earliest before you got it."

Shaking his head, Simmons leaned on his arms on the table. "No problem. I needed some lunch too. I had to skip breakfast this morning."

Curious, Angela placed her purse on the floor near her feet. "So, how do you like working with Brennan so far?"

Waiting for the waitress to place his coffee and her tea in front of them, Simmons finally replied when the waitress left. "She's great. I wished she worked for Metro full time. The FBI was stupid to let her slip through their fingers, but their loss is my gain."

"Well, they do have Dr. Edison, but Brennan is the best in the country so really it is their loss." Sipping her tea, Angela placed her glass down on the table. "Booth quit the FBI and since she won't work with any other FBI Agent that was that. You were smart to pick up both of them. If you have tough cases they're the ones to turn to. They're geniuses when it comes to solving cases that are crazy old."

Stirring creamer in his coffee, Simmons agreed. "Yep, I'm glad I have them on my team. It looks like Cora Hogg is going to get justice after all."

Ooooooooooooooooo

Limping over towards Brennan's office, Booth smiled as Cam left her office and stopped to stare at him. Holding her thumbs up, Cam called out to him. "I'm so happy for you."

Happy himself, Booth waved at her. "Thanks, it's about damn time."

Entering his wife's office, Booth walked over towards Brennan's desk and held his hands out from his sides. "I had Lester take me to the doctors and I just got back. What do you think? Huh?"

Happiness flooding her body, Brennan stood up and walked around her desk. Placing her arms around his chest she laughed. "I'm so happy you don't have to use the cane anymore."

Her body pressed against his body, Booth sighed. "Thanks, he said I'm doing so good that he thinks the cane isn't necessary anymore unless I plan to walk a lot. I'm still healing, but everything looks good and my therapy is really paying off."

Kissing him, Brennan stared into his very happy face. "You've been holding the cane more than using it for the last week. I knew you were ready to stop using it."

Booth pulled her closer and returned her kiss, letting it deepen a little into a more satisfying event. Once they broke apart in need of oxygen, Booth finally replied. "When I woke up in the hospital after I rammed the bridge, I was sure I'd never walk again, but here I am. If I end up with a permanent limp I won't care. I'm walking and that's more than I hoped for."

Brennan moved away and wiped a tear that escaped her eye lashes. "I'm so happy for you, Booth."

Seeing her tears, Booth pulled her back into his embrace. Rubbing her back, he assured her. "Hey, everything's going to be fine. We're together, we have a new house and it looks like I'm still improving. We got through some bad stuff, but we made it."

Her forehead pressed against his shoulder, Brennan sniffed and tried to bring her emotions under control. "We did make it."

Once he was sure she was no longer crying, Booth moved back and asked her, "So you up to having that party? We talked about it and Angela is back. We can have it on Thanksgiving day and we'll invite all of our friends and your squints. It'll be fun."

Swallowing past the lump in her throat, Brennan smiled. "Alright, we can start planning it and send out the invitations."

His thumb rubbed along her cheek bone while he teased her. "It's too bad we couldn't have the Halloween party. I wanted to go as Angel the Vampire. You could have gone as Buffy. It would have been a hoot."

Amused, Brennan laughed. "Just because you look like that actor doesn't mean we have to pretend to be Buffy and Angel. Maybe next year we can have a Halloween party and you can dress up as a vampire, but I will most certainly not attend as Buffy. I am not a petite blond."

Shrugging his shoulders, Booth laughed. "Okay, it was just a suggestion . . . Oh, I've been cleared to drive again. Now I need to get some new wheels since my truck is totaled. Of course the insurance company didn't pay for it since I deliberately crashed it . . . the assholes. They don't think saving my life was a good enough reason, the bastards."

Amused, Brennan shook her head, "Don't worry about it, Booth. I paid cash for it when I bought it for you, so we didn't owe anything on it."

Glumly, Booth sighed. "I bet it's going to be a real bitch for me to get a loan for a new one though."

Ooooooooooooo

That evening, Booth waited for Brennan in his office. Entering Booth's office, Lester noticed Booth sitting at his desk, watching the news on his TV. "I thought you'd be gone by now."

Not bothering to look at his lieutenant, Booth kept his attention on the TV. "Just waiting for Bones. She's got some of her students down in Bones Storage with her, studying some old bones. I think she plans to have her class until six then we're going to leave."

Sitting down across from Booth's desk, Lester started to watch the scores being displayed on the screen from the previous day's games. "I guess you're happy you can drive now."

Not happy at the moment, Booth grumbled. "I've been calling around about cars and loans and I'm getting flack for destroying my previous car. I have a feeling I'm going to be paying a high interest rate when I get my new car. Fucking blood suckers."

Tsking, Lester sympathized with his boss. "That's tough."

Entering Booth's office, Brennan shifted her purse on her shoulder. "I'm ready to go Booth. My students did quite well today and I released them earlier that I expected."

Since he was hungry, Booth was glad she was ready to go. Flipping off the TV, he stood up and walked around the desk slowly. "Great, let's go."

As he walked through the doorway, Booth was aware that Lester was following them, but he assumed the younger man was going home too.

Oooooooooooo

Exiting the elevator, Booth turned to walk towards Brennan's car when she placed her hand on his arm and stopped him. "No Booth." Pointing towards his assigned parking space, Brennan grinned. "Your car is over there."

Speechless, Booth saw a new Ford Explorer sitting in his parking space. "Bones, you didn't . . . you did?"

Following him as he limped over towards the truck, Brennan pulled the keys to the new truck from her purse. "I knew you were going to have too much trouble from the banks about a loan for a new vehicle so I replaced it. Lester picked it up for me two hours ago."

A quick glance back towards Lester and Booth found the younger man following them towards Booth's new truck. "I thought you had a dentist appointment."

Amused, Lester chortled. "I lied . . . sue me."

Eagerly taking the keys from Brennan, Booth unlocked the truck, opened the driver's side door and looked inside. He inspected the dashboard and the options and turned to look at Brennan. "Thanks, Bones. I really mean that. You're really too good to me."

Placing her hand on his shoulders, she leaned up and kissed him. "No more than you are to me."

Afraid that they might forget he was there, Lester cleared his throat loudly. "Okay you two. Let's keep this rated G. I don't want our security team to get an eyeful from all the cameras around here."

Separating from his wife, Booth glared at Lester. "Why don't you go home and quit being a pain in the ass? I'm sure Claire would like you home on time for once."

His hand over his heart, Lester bowed a little. "I think I will. Claire wants me to pick up some Tex-Mex food tonight. She swears that the hot food will make the baby come sooner at least that's what Angela told her."

Shrugging his shoulders, Booth moved the truck keys around in his hand. "She's not due for one more week. Angela was over due by about five days or so when she had Michael."

"Pfft." Not impressed, Lester turned to leave. "Claire expects everyone to be punctual including the baby."

Amused, Booth laughed. "Good luck with that."
