Thank you for reading and reviewing my story.

I don't own Bones.

"Booth, I've been thinking about the party and I don't think Thanksgiving is a good time to have a party." Sitting at the kitchen table, Brennan jotted a few things on a notepad while Booth carried a plate filled with pancakes over to the table.

After placing the plate on the table, Booth sat down across from her, flipped three pancakes on to his plate and drenched them in syrup. "Okay, why not?"

Not very hungry, Brennan placed one pancake on her plate and spread a pat of butter across the cake. "Most families prefer to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families."

Shrugging his shoulders, Booth decided she was right. "Fair enough. When do you want to have the party?"

"The second week in December." Brennan sliced her pancake into bite size pieces. "We can make it a Christmas party."

Slowly chewing his bite of pancake, Booth checked the calendar lying on the table next to his elbow and flipped the month to December. "Looks okay to me. You still planning to stay on vacation until the start of the New Year?"

Moving the calendar over so she could write on it, Brennan smiled at the little christmas tree Booth had doodled on the calendar. "Yes, I think I will have my rough draft of my book completed by then. I'm still teaching at the University two days a week and I will continue to do so, but I won't return to the Lab until the day after the New Year."

Thirsty, Booth finished the juice in his glass and placed the now empty glass down on the table. "Okay, Cam wanted me to make sure . . . You know you can sleep in. You don't have to get up and have breakfast with me every morning."

Finished making notes, Brennan placed her pen down, reached over and placed her hand over his hand. "Yes, I do. I want to see you in the morning and if I sleep in then I won't."

Pleased to hear her explanation, Booth pulled her hand up and leaning forward, he kissed the back of her hand. "Thank you. I really hate to eat alone, so I do appreciate it."

Her eyes sparkling, Brennan stood up and leaned over to kiss him. "I don't like to eat breakfast alone either."

Enjoying the kiss, Booth tried to prolong it for a little bit. Standing, he leaned over and deepened his kiss until they were interrupted by his phone ringing. "Damn it." Separating, Booth walked over to the island and picked up his phone. "Booth."

Hey, my battery is dead in my car. Can you come by and pick me up on the way to work? I can't take Claire's car, she's taking Bobby to the pediatrician. He's got some kind of weird rash and Claire's worried about it.

Annoyed, Booth gazed longingly at his wife. "Yeah, I guess so . . . I'll be there in a half hour."

Thanks.

The call ended, Booth grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair and pulled it on. "That's Lester, his car won't start, so I'm going to go get him." Placing his phone in his jacket pocket, he picked up two pancakes and placed his bacon slices between them. Placing his pancake sandwich in a napkin, he leaned down and kissed his partner once more. "Meet me for lunch at the Diner."

Her lips lingering on his, Brennan murmured, "I will."

Entering Cam's office, Booth found the coroner fussing at someone on the phone. Turning around, Booth walked across the hallway and entered his office. Once behind the desk, he sat down, turned on his PC and scrolled through his mail.

A tapping on the door frame grabbing his attention, Booth looked up to find Cam standing in the doorway. "Hey, I just wanted you to know you're going to lose your bet. Bones says she's not coming back until the day after New Years."

Walking across the office, Cam sat down and smirked at her friend. "I still say she's going to get bored and come back early. You haven't won your bet yet."

Amused, Booth leaned back against his chair and smiled. "She's working on a book plus she's having some remodeling done in the basement and in the kitchen. She's not bored."

Snorting, Cam shook her head. "Sure she is. Brennan is not the kind of person who can stay away from the job she loves and she absolutely loves her job. You know that."

Booth knew Cam was right, but he also wanted to believe Brennan was home because she wanted to be. "She says she's busy and that she wants to get her rough draft done before she comes back. When she sets a goal it's best to stay out of her way and she really wants that book done before the New Year. She said she wants to line up a dig next spring and she needs to finish the book first. Even if she gets bored she'll stay home and finish writing her book."

Tugging on her left ear, Cam conceded his point. "Well if she's got a dig she wants to go to then she probably will finish out her sabbatical, we'll see . . . Are you going to go with her if she does go on a dig?"

His hands resting on the arms of his chair, Booth nodded his head. "Better believe it. This is my first chance to see what she does on a dig and I'm not going to miss it. Director Foor has already been notified and he's agreed to it. It is one of the reasons he hired me, remember? He wants better security on our digs."

Standing, Cam teased her friend. "Just make sure you and Brennan come back in one piece. She has been known to accept digs in areas of the world that are a little hostile to outsiders."

"No kidding." Turning his attention back to his mail, Booth opened an email from Agent Harris.

His coffee a little too hot, Booth set the cup down and picked up his fork. "So did they deliver the new fridge and stove this morning?"

Spearing some asparagus with her fork, Brennan smiled. "Yes, so that's taken care of. I also completed two chapters of my book."

Impressed, Booth complimented her. "Wow, that's great. The way you've been tackling your book I wouldn't be surprised if you're finished before Christmas."

Chewing her bite of food, Brennan glanced at the other patrons then back at Booth. "Perhaps although you can't rush the writing process. I have to allow time for research too. I usually do most of my research for my story before I begin writing, but something usually comes up and I have to stop and do more research."

"I let Cam know that you're planning on going on a dig in the Spring." Placing his fork down, Booth checked his coffee and finding it cooler, drank some. "Rebecca called me this morning and told me that she's going skiing in Switzerland this year, during Christmas and Parker told her he doesn't want to go. I told her that Parker can stay with us during Christmas break, so be prepared for a little chaos when he's with us. I've never had him for the entire Christmas break before, so I'm actually looking forward to it."

After sipping some tea, Brennan placed her glass down on the table. "I think that's wonderful, Booth. He can help you decorate the house and yard . . . I was wondering if you'd like to invite Hank to come stay with us during the holidays. We have the spare bedroom and even though we haven't finished setting up the room yet, I think we can get that done in the next few weeks. Parker's room still needs new carpet, but I think we can wait until after the holidays to have it replaced."

Surprised, Booth leaned forward, "Really? Are you sure? I'd love to have Pops come stay with us, but I don't want to put too much pressure on you. I mean, having Parker with us for three weeks is going to . . ."

Interrupting him, Brennan assured him, "It won't be a problem, Booth. I'd like to have Hank come if he wants to. I enjoy his company."

His adoration for his wife plain for all to see, Booth reached his hand out and placed it over her hand. "You're the best, Bones, really . . . thank you. This is going to be the best Christmas ever."

Squeezing his hand, Brennan smiled. "I want you to be happy and I know that your family makes you happy."

"You make me happy, Bones." His smile wide and bright, Booth stared into her crystal blue eyes. Eyes he could easily get lost in. "You make me very happy."
