One of the Ghouls.

beccalovesbumblebee- Updates have been slow, as you know. I just have been busy with school, and the past week I have been sick. Last weekend all I did was sleep. I was going to do something else for Halloween, but it is too late for that now. Since I am off today I decided to do a chapter on the reason I am off today... Election day(in the United States). Yes, this is stupid, but I think it would be cute for Shaggy to explain to the girls about what election day is. I do not own DP, Or Scooby doo and the Ghoul school.

Chapter sixteen.

(Dani's POV)

It took as all a while to get used to our new sleeping arrangements, but we did eventually. In the process only one fight broke out between Sibella, and Winnie. They fought about something stupid, but it was comical watching Scooby, and Shaggy trying to get inbetween the Werewolf, and Vampire.

"Girls," Miss Grimwood called up the steps to bring us down for breakfast.

We walked down the steps together. Miss Grimwood, and the octopus butler had breakfast laid out on the table. Shaggy, and Scooby were getting their midmorning wake up call from Matches, and the floating hand.

"Come sit down," Miss Grimwood said motioning towards the table.

I took my place next to Phanty, and Sibella. Miss Grimwood must have had a lot of toadstool tea this morning, because she was never up this early.

"How did you sleep?" I asked everyone.

"Good," Phanty answered with a laugh.

"Okay, I had a weird dream," Winnie admitted.

"Yes, she was chasing cars again, in her sleep," Sibella grumbled.

"At least you didn't lose your electricity in your sleep," Elsa said.

"Where's your shock man?" Tanis asked her roommate.

"I don't know, but we need to look for it in a while," Elsa said.

"Before you do that; I have an announcement," Miss Grimwood declared.

"What?" Everyone asked simultaneously.

"Classes are cancelled tomorrow, " Miss Grimwood announced.

"Why?" Dani asked.

"We are holding the election here tomorrow." Miss Grimwood smiled. "Every year me, and Cornell Calloway take turns hosting the election."

"What does that have to do with us? Why should we care about elections?" Winnie asked before howling.

Shaggy walked in rubbing his eyes. He only caught the last part of Winnie's question.

"Meet me and Scooby upstairs in an hour, and we will explain why, and how elections affect you," Shaggy said taking a seat at the table with Scrappy, and Scooby-Doo.

I went upstairs, and cleaned up my room, before going to help Elsa search for her portable shockman.

By the time I finished my room, and made it over to Elsa's room Tanis was buried under a pile of clothes that were being thrown everywhere in Elsa's haste.

I began picking up the clothes, and folding them only using my supernatural speed to assist me a little. Once the floor was clear, and Elsa had run out of clothes I found her shockman, it was hidden under her bed behind Tanis' book of bedtime stories.

"Elsa," I called to my friend across the room.

"What!" Elsa yelled in a tired manner.

"I found your shockman," I said. Shaggy passed Elsa's door motioning for us to come with him. "Just in time as well." I tossed her the shockman, and Elsa was immediately at the window attaching the headphone like contraption to her bolts. She flipped the small lever to turn on the shockman before holding it out of the window. A bolt of lightning struck the machine, and sent electrictiy running through Elsa. She groaned as the energy charged her body.

"Now, I am ready to go to the classroom," Elsa said letting Tanis skip out of the room in front of her. It seemed like she didn't want to touch anyone after the charge she got.

I gave her a funny look, before I touched her arm receiving a shock that was like static electricity times ten.

"Ouch," I muttered.

"Sorry, Dani. It is the residule energy from my charge. It normally disperses in a couple of minutes," Elsa said.

We entered the classroom together. I took my seat in front of Sibella, and in between Tanis, and Winnie.

"Now that everyone is here," Shaggy began. "Let's begin."

Scooby, and Scrappy sat on either side of Shaggy. Scrappy was holding a piece of chalk in his hand, before he began to write "Election day" on the blackboard.

"Election day is always the second Tuesday in November in the United States," Shaggy began.

"On that day eligible voters go to their designated polling places to vote, on issues, and officials they want to see inactied, or in-power. Schools normally give the students the day off on this day, because schools are generally a communities polling place," Shaggy stated.

"What do you mean by issues?" Sibella asked raising her hand above her head.

"Issues are the things voters vote on," Shaggy answered. "Like, tax increases, school board levies, and things of that nature that affect the community."

"Rhaggy, rhat rabout the Resident?" Scooby-doo asked.

"The President is elected every four years, while certain officials are only voted in every six, or even every year," Shaggy explained.

"So the election only affects us, because some of the issues affect our school?" Winnie asked.
"Yes, but it also good to know what issues to vote on, and what is on the ballot, because the ballots are confusing," Shaggy said. He passed around the example ballot.

"How do adults understand this mumbo jumbo?" Elsa asked as she stared at the ballot.

Shaggy laughed. "Most of them don't. Majority of the people don't vote on issues, and just focus on officials that they want in office."

"The key here is research," Scrappy exclaimed. "Look up the candidates, and what they support before you vote."

Miss Grimwood stepped into the room as Scrappy finished giving us advice.

"I want all of you to help me set up the head boxes, and clean up," Miss Grimwood said.

We helped Miss Grimwood set up the "head boxes" which were the voting booths. After that me, Phanty, and Sibella were stuck cleaning, or collecting Legs' webs to tidy up.

"You guys know Legs will make us put his webs back on Wednesday right?" I asked the other girls.

"That is if he doesn't re-cover the head boxes with his webs tonight," Phanty said with a laugh.

The next day the school was filled with people flowing in, and out. The head boxes weren't covered with Legs' webs, but Legs was mad that we cleaned up his webs. Miss Grimwood had to bribe him with twenty flies, before he would do anything she asked him to do.

Miss Grimwood had been trying to offer the voters punch, tea, and caterpillar cookies, which most of them refused, especially Cornell Calloway.

Miss Grimwood told us to stay upstairs away from the voters, but me and Phanty couldn't resist the urge to scare some of the voters. I knocked someone's phone out of their hand, and Phanty went into the other room, and began to play the organ. Everyone looked at the organ, and saw that there was no one playing it.

They were scared, but Miss Grimwood assured them that everything was okay. She glared at the organ which began to play out of tune which was unlike Phanty. I floated over to her, and checked on her.

"What are you doing?" I asked her keeping myself invisible.

"Freaking them out," Phanty replied, before banging on some of the keys.

"Hold on," I whispered, before I floated away. I knocked over a chair, and went to the kitchen, and began to shake up the silver ware, and bang the pots, and pans together.

I smiled I knew Miss Grimwood would be mad, but she couldn't say anything while the voters were here. Me and Phanty laughed as some of the voters ran out of the school out of fear, forgetting what they were going to vote for in the first place.
