beccalovesbumblebee-I do not own Danny Phantom, or Scooby-doo, and the Ghoul school. Just like I promised the second half of the Thanksgiving update.
Chapter Eighteen.
(Dani's P.O.V.)
I didn't have to be up, but I made sure I was up at dawn to wait for Tanis' craft. I could hear Shaggy faintly talking to Scooby, and Scrappy. That, and Miss Grimwood put me in charge of wake-up calls, and our morning warm-ups. My first wake-up call would be Phanty. She normally didn't sleep, but had recently began sleeping once she found out I was half human.
"Come on, Phanty," I said reaching out to shake her. "You are the one that is supposed to wake me up."
Phantasma groaned, and opened her eyes. She floated off of the bed, when she began to wake up.
"Dani, why are you up so early?" Phantasma asked.
"I am in charge of wake-up calls," I said with a smirk. "Although, I should've just woke up Winnie, cause once she's up everyone is up."
"That's right, cause she's a howl." Phanty looked at me in pure amusement, laughing because she was finally awake.
"Let's go," Phanty said speeding towards the far wall, and phasing through it. "I call waking up Winnie, she is a scream when she wakes up." She laughed.
"Don't you mean a howl?" I asked.
"That is right," Phanty said before she floated down the hall, and through Winnie's wall.
I shook my head. Sometimes Phanty was just ridiculous, even for a ghost. I decided to wake up Sibella first, because she would probably be the least threatening out of everyone. Tanis was a sweetheart, and all, but she got cranky when you woke her up.
Sibella's room appeared to be empty, but as I entered further until I ran into Sibella's purple hair. I looked up, and found Sibella sleeping upside down on the ceiling.
Floating up to Sibella was the easy part it was the waking up that was going to be difficult. I wasn't sure how to do this. So, I just tapped her on the shoulder, and then Sibella opened her eyes with a jolt. She smiled at me, before floating gracefully to the floor.
"Dani, what a fangtastic surprise," Sibella exclaimed.
"Do you always sleep on the ceiling?" I asked.
Sibella laughed lightly. "No, only when I can't sleep. It is the only way my Dad knew how to get me to sleep as a baby."
"Alright, so did Tani's tell you about her craft ideas?" I asked.
Sibella shook her head. "No, but Tanis will pick something cute I know it."
Winnie's howling woke up everyone else, and interrupted our conversation.
"Well, Winnie is up," I commented.
Me, and Sibella decided to meet the others in the attic.
"Okay, since our Coach is in charge of the turkey, I am in charge of warm-ups today," I announced, preparing myself to lead everyone in our warm ups.
"So, are we going to warm-up, or stay cold cause the snow is coming?" Winnie asked with a smile.
We did our warm-ups, and Tanis skipped off to her room a few minutes later without a word. Her small pony tail and pink bow flowed behind her. She came back a few minutes later with a box.
"What you got in there Tanis?" Elsa asked.
"Turkey," Tanis responded sweetly.
I opened the box, and found a bunch of bones. They looked like turkey bones.
"What are we going to do with the bones?" I asked.
"Make sculptures of turkeys," Winnie answered.
"I call making my turkey with Dani!" Phanty exclaimed.
"Me, and Tanis are making a turkey," Elsa said in an excited tone.
We made our turkeys with random bones, and colored feathers. Ours looked like a monster. Tanis' looked like a demon turkey wrapped up like a mummy with red, yellow, and orange feathers. Sibella made her and Winnie's turkey a cape.
"Wow," I said looking around the room at the other turkeys.
"Are you going to name it?" Winnie asked.
"Our is Jolt," Elsa said.
"This is Count Wolfie," Sibella said.
"I think ours is Phantom." I looked at Phantasma wondering if that was okay. She nodded.
"We should take our turkeys downstairs," Sibella said leading the pack as usual.
Our turkeys decorated the dining room. Everyone else got to work on their jobs. I decided to check on Coach Rogers, and how the turkey was going.
Shaggy didn't burn the turkey, but the stuffing was another story. It was charred to the point where the little pieces of bread looked like small hunks of coal.
"Coach, are you alright?" I asked.
"Zoinks, Dani you scared me," Shaggy exclaimed.
"Sorry," I apologized. "How is the turkey?"
"Rokay, Rani," Scooby answered.
I was the one that set the table, and got ready for the guests to arrive. This was the one day of year that Miss Grimwood made normal food. The Cadets filed in just as the turkey was being pulled out of the oven. Cornell Calloway took the foot of the table along with his men. Dracula, and the other parents began to arrive. It was so crowded that me, Phanty, and Sibella had to fly the stuff onto the table. Sibella took her seat next to her Dad, and the others did the same. My seat was inbetween Phanty's phantom Father, and Tug. Miss Grimwood finally came out of the kitchen, and took her seat at the head of the table.
"Now that everyone is here, and seated. I would like everyone to take a moment to think of what they are thankful for," Miss Grimwood announced. "I am thankful for my girls, and this lovely school."
Matches made an objecting noise.
"And Matches," Miss Grimwood continued.
Tanis spoke up."I am thankful for my friends, and my Mummy Daddy."
"I am thankful for our Coach, and my Dada," Elsa chimed in.
"I am grateful for all the times we have together," Winnie said howling with her Father.
"That's a howl Winnie," Phanty said laughing.
"I am thankful for all my new friends, and being here with the people I love," I said.
"I think I speak for all the parents here when I say we are thankful for our daughters, and their friends," The Phantom spoke up.
Shaggy said grace, and then began to start carving the turkey. Winnie, and her Dad took the legs. Sibella, and Dracula had dark meat. Elsa and Frankenteen senior had white meat. Dani, the cadets, Miss G, and Cornell C ate whatever Shaggy gave them. Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy, and Matches were first to have any potatoes, and cranberries.
Tug took my hand under the table, and squeezed it gently.
"Are you okay?" Tug asked me.
I nodded. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Your Dad is not here," Tug commented.
"It is alright. He had other plans," I admitted.
I took a few bites slowly. Tug did the same. I realized that on Thanksgiving it didn't matter where you spent it, the only thing that mattered was that you aren't alone.
"Shaggy, I am proud of you," Dracula said with a fanged smile.
Shaggy gulped tugging on the collar of his shirt. "Why Count?"
"You didn't murder the turkey!" Dracula exclaimed.
Everyone laughed at that.
"What is so funny?" A voice I knew better than anyone's asked.
Behind Cornell Calloway was my Dad, the Danny Phantom, and Sam, my Mom.
"Dad!" I said, it was still kind of weird for me to think about him being my Dad.
"Dani," Mom, and Dad responded.
"Hold on," I said. I gave Tug's hand one last squeeze before I phased through the floor, and appeared next to my parents. Before I could move the wrapped me into a tight hug.
"How did you guys make it so early?" I asked in bewilderment.
"We stopped in and hung out with our families for awhile, but then we told them we had to be somewhere for dinner," Danny admitted.
"Hello, Danny," Miss Grimwood said turning to the Octopus that sat to her right. "Would you mind grabbing two more chairs?"
The Octopus grabbed two more chairs, and I grabbed plates for my parents.
They ate, and the pies that Miss Grimwood, and Phanty made were brought out. The pumpkin pie had a jack-o-lanterns face. We laughed, and told stories. Phanty played a recent composition with my help, and everyone had a blast. This feeling was what Thanksgiving was about, family, friends, and neighbors.
