Thank you for reviewing my story. I appreciate it.
I don't own Bones.
Oooooooooooooooo
With crisp bacon and blueberry waffles piled on plates, Booth started to cut up strawberries when his grandfather walked into the kitchen.
"Wow, Shrimp." Walking over to the counter he poured himself a cup of coffee. Stirring in some cream, he watched his grandson dump the strawberries into a bowl. "You don't cook like this every day do you?"
His hands filled with plates, he carried them over to the kitchen table. "No, not really. I just wanted to do something special for Bones this morning before I go to work." Humming, he moved back to the counter and picked up some plates and the bowl of fruit. Placing them on the table, he grinned at his grandfather. "She deserves to be spoiled sometimes."
Entering the kitchen, Brennan stopped and stared at the table. "Booth, you shouldn't have done all of this today. You should have slept a little longer. I'm sure we would have all been happy with cereal."
Excited, Parker rushed into the kitchen and exclaimed, "Oh boy, I thought I smelled bacon." Sitting down at the table, the boy stabbed three waffles with a fork and placed them on his plate. A grin on his face, he grabbed a handful of bacon and placed them on top of the waffles. "I thought you only make waffles on the weekend."
Moving over to where Brennan was standing, Booth kissed her lightly on the lips. "I wanted to do something special for you and I didn't want to wait until the weekend. It's not that big of a deal to cook waffles."
His thoughtfulness made her feel warm and loved. Returning his kiss, Brennan slid her arm around his waist. "It was a very nice thing to do, Booth. Thank you."
Happy she liked the breakfast, Booth moved over to the counter, grabbed the juice and some glasses and carried them over to the table. "Come on Bones, sit down and eat." Turning towards his grandfather, Booth urged him, "Come on Pops, the waffles are still warm."
After everyone was seated and plates were filled, Booth casually remarked. "Now that Bones is pregnant we'll have to make time for a complete breakfast every morning."
Stunned, Parker placed his fork down and stared at his step-mother. "You're going to have a baby? For real this time?"
Amused at Parker's question, Brennan nodded her head. "Yes, I think so. I took a home pregnancy test and it came out positive. It is possible the test is wrong, but false positives are not as common as false negatives. I've made an appointment to see my physician to make sure though."
Reaching across the table, Hank grasped Brennan's hand. "This is wonderful news, Temperance. Congratulations."
Her happiness growing, Brennan marveled at her situation. "This is all very new to me. I'm just a little nervous about being pregnant, but Booth and I want a baby and I'm certain that with his help everything will be fine."
Proud of his wife, Booth exclaimed, "We'll have it all under control Bones. That room we set aside for a future baby is already painted and carpeted, so all we have to do is buy the furniture and baby supplies. It'll be a piece of cake." Leaning over, he kissed her on the cheek. "You're going to be great Mom, you'll see."
A sad smile on her lips, Brennan replied softly. "I hope so."
Placing his arm around her back, Booth assured her. "No hoping about it, Bones. You will be a great Mom. You love kids and kids love you. You've got it in the bag."
Now a little confused, Brennan looked around. "Got it in the bag? What do I have in the bag?"
Amused, Booth hugged her and then released her. "It just means you'll achieve what you set out to do. Don't ask me where that comes from, it's just a saying."
Picking up her fork, Brennan sighed. "I wish these sayings would actually make sense."
Oooooooooooooooo
Humming as he flipped through a manual, Booth was interrupted by a voice at the door. "Boy someone's happy."
Startled, Booth looked up. "Oh, yeah, you know me and Christmas. A few more days and I'll be off for the holidays and with Parker home, I have a few plans."
Stepping into the room, Cam moved across the room and sat down. "I guess you're going to win the bet. Dr. Brennan is obviously not going to come in before her sabbatical is up."
A smirk on his face, Booth leaned back against his chair. "I told you she wouldn't. She had a lot of things to do and you know once she sets a course, there is no way you're going to stop her. Her first draft is done and her editor is looking it over, she had a carpenter come in and build shelves and cabinets in the laundry room and she finished all of the other projects on her list too. Now she's relaxing and having fun with Parker and Pops. Come Thursday, I'm going to be off and I plan to have my own share of fun."
"I'm glad to see you so happy." Crossing her legs, Cam placed her clasped hands on her knee. "How's Hank doing?"
Wanting to share his happiness, Booth smiled at his friend. "Hey, why don't you and Michelle come over Christmas Eve and have dinner with us? You can see Hank, who is doing good by the way and I know Parker wants to see you . . . Come on, I'll make you some of my famous eggnog. You know you love that stuff."
Since she didn't have a lot of plans for Christmas, Cam considered it. "Alright, maybe we will. I haven't seen Hank or Parker for a while and I know Michelle would like to see Parker again."
Pleased that she'd accepted, Booth nodded his head. "Alright. I'll wait and give you and Michelle your presents then."
Annoyed, Cam began to protest. "I thought we said no presents this year, Seeley."
Shaking his head, Booth crossed his arms against his chest. "I never agreed to that. There is no way I don't get Michelle a present and I'd feel like a louse if I gave her a present and I didn't get you one. You don't have to get me anything. Bones got me the best present ever and I don't need or want anything else."
Curious, Cam asked him, "What did she get you?"
Realizing he'd said too much, Booth blushed. "Um . . . well, I can't tell you. Sorry . . . I haven't got it yet and well . . . um, you know how it is. It's going to be a surprise. See?"
Puzzled, Cam shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe I do . . . that's okay. You can show me when we come over Christmas Eve."
Rubbing the side of his head, Booth prevaricated. "Um, yeah, sure."
A little confused with Booth's reaction, Cam stood up. "I have some things I need to take care of. I'll . . . if your present is a secret, you don't have to tell me, Booth. You're the one who brought it up."
Embarrassed, Booth shifted in his seat. "Um, it's just a secret now. Um . . . well . . . uh." Laughing, Booth shook his head. "I have a big mouth sometimes."
Her confusion turning to amusement, Cam shook her head. "Yes, you do."
Watching her leave his office, Booth muttered. "Shit, Bones will kill my ass if I leak our good news before she's ready."
Oooooooooooo
So let me know what you think of my story. Thank you.
