I don't own Bones.

Limping around the bedroom, Brennan informed Booth, "I'm going to use the jets in the tub. Perhaps it will help with the pain."

Concerned, Booth stepped over to where Brennan was standing, "Let me look at it Bones."

Pulling her shirt up and her pants down below her hips, Brennan heard Booth gasp, "It's bad?"

His finger hovering over the deep purple bruises, Booth confirmed her suspicion, "The're pretty bad bruises. Did you make an appointment to see your obstetrician?"

Now that Booth had confirmed her suspicions, Brennan pulled her pants back up and let her shirt fall back into place, "Yes, I have an appointment tomorrow morning." Turning to face her husband, Brennan placed her arms around his neck, "You don't have anything to worry about. It was just a fall."

His hands on her waist, Booth kissed her. Their kiss long and passionate, Booth finally separated from her, "I will worry, Bones. That's just the way it is. . . . I warned Hodgins about his experiments. He knows I'm serious now."

Releasing him, Brennan turned to collect some shorts and a t-shirt from her dresser, "It was just an accident, Booth."

Disgusted, Booth walked over to the bed and sat down, "He has too many accidents. He needs to be more careful. He doesn't work by himself. He can hurt other people, not just himself. Cam was pretty pissed too, you know. She told me she threatened to put him on unpaid leave the next time he does something unauthorized."

Clutching her clothes in her hand, Brennan frowned, "He's inquisitive. He's been very helpful in the past with our investigations."

Gloomily, Booth responded, "Yes he has and he's done some crazy ass things too. He's a genius and we're a great team, but he's too fearless for his own good. He's more interested in results than in safety and that needs to stop. He can do his experiments, but he needs someone to make sure they don't kill him or hurt anyone else. Look what happened to Zach."

Annoyed, Brennan sat down next to her partner, "That wasn't Hodgins' fault Booth and you know it. Zach was the one responsible for the explosion. Zach was responsible for his injuries not Hodgins."

Laying back and looking up at the ceiling, Booth grimly replied, "It was Hodgins' experiment and he was supposed to be in charge. He should have checked the ingredients before he let Zach use it. If you're going to be in charge of your department then you have to be in charge. Zach may have sabotaged the experiment, but that wouldn't have happened if Hodgins had verified everything before they'd started. I have to hold him to higher standards, Bones. He works for the Jeffersonian and the guy has like three doctorates or something. He can't just ignore protocols." Pushing up on his elbow, Booth stared at his wife, "If he'd killed you . . . " Sitting up, he placed his arm around her back, "If he'd killed you. . . "

Trying to reassure him, Brennan leaned against him, "But nothing really happened. I just fell on my butt."

Chuckling, Booth kissed her cheek, "Butt huh? Go get in the tub. You need it."

Standing, Brennan looked down at her husband, "I thought the slang might amuse you and take you out of your moodiness. Stop worrying so much. Everything is fine. I'm going to go see Dr. Hernandez tomorrow so you need to relax."

Watching her walk into the bathroom, Booth shook his head. Relax she says. Calling out to her, Booth asked, "How am I supposed to relax when we're magnets for trouble?"

Her voice echoing in the bathroom, Brennan replied, "Would you like to join me in the tub? Maybe that will help you relax."

Standing and stripping off his shirt, Booth walked over to the bathroom, "It's definitely worth a try."

The next day, Brennan arrived at her Obstetrician's office with Booth in tow, "I still think you could have stayed at work."

His hands in his pockets, Booth followed his wife across the parking lot, "Forget it, we're a package deal. I need to be here for you and that's that."

Slowing, Brennan let Booth catch up with her. Hooking her arm around his arm, she smiled, "The tub was very relaxing last night, Booth. We'll have to use it again tonight."

Surprised, Booth grinned, "That was pretty relaxing. How you managed with those bruises is beyond me."

Hugging his arm tighter, Brennan replied, "The water made me very buoyant which allowed my posterior to float above the floor of the tub."

Arriving at the building, Booth laughed, opened the door to the building and gently pushed his partner inside. "I love it when you talk squinty to me, very sexy."

Her appointment complete, Brennan felt a certain amount of optimism as Booth drove them back to the Jeffersonian. "Dr. Rayburn called me this morning. He has a dig he'd like me to be a part of. It's in Mexico. He started the dig last August. His team has discovered a small town that appears to have been abandoned around 200 A.D. He's found a burial site and he'd like me to look at the bones."

"Mexico?" Keeping his eyes on the road, Booth tried to work up some enthusiasm, "Did you tell him that you're pregnant? Slogging through jungles might not be the best thing to do if you're pregnant."

Shrugging her shoulders, Brennan replied, "I don't think it would be a problem if we go now. You've been complaining about the snow and the cold Booth. This could be our chance to get away for awhile. It would only be for about a month or so. I'm only five weeks pregnant at the most and I'd rather go on a dig now because it might be more difficult once I've had my . . . our baby."

His eyes finally darting towards Brennan, he noticed the tense way she was sitting and realized that he couldn't keep her from going, "Yeah, you're right. Maybe it would be okay to go now. I really hate the snow and I wouldn't mind going on the dig."

Surprised, Brennan turned and smiled at Booth, "Really? I was certain you'd find ways to keep me here."

Glumly, Booth shrugged his shoulders, "I promised you that I wouldn't try to change you when we got married. I keep my word. Digs are your thing and well I want you to do what you love to do. Tell Dr. Rayburn that you're coming and I'll let Director Foor and Cam know. I signed on to be your body guard when you go on digs and that's what I'm going to do."

Excited, Brennan placed her hand on his knee."I think you'll find this very fascinating Booth. Our first dig together. This should be a lot of fun."

A smile creeping onto his lips, Booth grabbed Brennan's hand and kissed it, his eyes still on the road ahead, "Yeah, a lot of fun."
