One of the ghouls
BLB: I do not own Scooby-doo or Danny Phantom. This is sort of a filler chapter, before we go back to Miss Grimwood and Cornell Calloway in the past. Please leave a review, or shoot me a PM. I am really curious to hear how you guys like this, or hate it... Peace and love to all.
Chapter 27
(Dani's P.O.V.)
The others arrived shortly after, me and Phanty found Miss G. They were all freaking out, and it didn't help that our head mistress was out of commission. "Everyone, stop for a minute and breathe, or shriek whichever works for you guys. Miss G is fine, check her pulse, I think the main goal of the spell she is under is to keep her from stopping Cornell Calloway's wedding." I was assuming to help them worry less.
"Why would Miss Grimwood care that the stiff from our rival school is getting married?" Elsa asked, checking Miss Grimwood's pulse.
"He isn't just getting married, Elsa he is getting arranged married," Phanty answered giving her the wrong terms.
"It's an arranged marriage, he is marrying a woman that his parents have chosen for him. The reason Miss Grimwood cares is, because they are, or atleast were in love. They knew each other many years ago, when the school's were under different administration."
That was when there was a loud knock on the door, everyone glanced at each other, before Sibella and Phanty went to investigate. Winnie howled in alarm, before running out of the room to guard Miss G, and Elsa stomped out of the room to join the others not wanting to be left behind. While they were gone I felt myself being guided towards an old trunk in Miss G's closet, like she was leading me there herself.
"I'm sorry for going through your stuff," I said in Miss Grimwood's direction, before opening the small trunk and glancing at the contents. It was mostly letters, and pressed flowers that still held a gentle fragrance about them. From what I read by the time the other girls entered the room, I understood a little of the situation that put Miss G and Cornell C together, and ultimately pulled them apart in the end.
When the others re-entered the room, they were shocked to see me reading a letter. I looked up to see them staring at me. "Who was at the door?"
"The Calloway Cadets actually," Phanty answered with a laugh.
"Why is that funy, Tas?" I asked.
"Because they were confused as to why Miss G didn't come to supervise them in the Cornell's absence, she usually helps out over there until he returns. They were coming to check on her," Sibella explained. "And to help a woman in distress is part of the Calloway code," she added.
"Where are the cadets now?" I asked, because none of them had come into the room with Phanty, Elsa, and Sibella.
"Winnie, is keeping them downstairs for the time being," Elsa began.
"We aren't sure how they are going to handle what happened to Miss G on their watch," Sibella continued.
I nodded understanding what their concerns were. Even though the Cadets acted like they could care less about us and Miss Grimwood, they did actually care and they were very protective of us. "The only thing I want to know is, why are you reading her letters? And have you learned anything?"
"Besides the fact that the heads of our schools fell in love as teens, I learned some of the history of both of the schools, the reason why the Cornell never explained that we were ghouls until recently and the main thing is about a fued that was happening between the schools," I explained collecting the letters that I could, and placing them into my bag.
A howl rang through the school as Winnie ran up the steps towards us, followed by a few of the cadets. "I'm sorry guys, I couldn't keep them downstairs any longer. They knew something was wrong and they wanted to help," Winnie said drawing out the word help with a howl. She entered the room followed by majority of the Calloway cadets.
They looked at Miss Grimwood in shock, and from their expressions they were confused about what they saw. "Not that isn't good to see all of you, but what's wrong with Miss Grimwood? We know none of you would be here if she was alright, because you spend the summers home with your Fathers" Tug stepped forward wrapping an arm around me and placing a kiss on the top of my head.
"Alright, cut the lovely dovey crap you two," Elsa commanded in her own way adding, "Yuck. Save that for after we help Miss Grimwood."
"To answer your question Tug, we aren't sure exactly. They only thing that we know is that, she seems to be under some type of spell, because we can't wake her up. Also, that she was leaving to stop the Cornell's wedding, when this happened to her," Sibella explained.
"The wedding is in three days, and we were all supposed to attend it," Grunt said adding a groan.
"We met the lady that he is supposed to marry, she seems like a real witch," Baxter added crossing his arms.
"She saw Cornell Calloway drop off a letter here for Miss Grimwood, and she wasn't happy about it," Miquel interjected.
"What are you guys getting at?" Winnie asked trying to get to the point, growling irritably at them.
"We saw that lady come over here, and she was gone for awhile, before she and Calloway left," Tug explained.
"Something was off with us, it felt like we were no longer in control of ourselves," Jamal said looking from us to the cadets, then finally to Miss Grimwood. "We just went about days, like robots, not questioning why were unsupervised."
"We didn't realize that Miss Grimwood wasn't there until earlier today," Tug explained.
"This morning actually, right before Miguel figured out we were locked on the school grounds," Grunt added.
"So you guys busted out of your school to check on Miss G? Doesn't that go against your code of conduct, or moral something or other?" Phanty questioned.
"Our moral compass, but that wasn't what held us back there was something else..." Tug answered.
"What a force field?" I asked sarcastcally.
"Magic," Tug answered.
"So you think that his fiancé, is what?" Sibella asked.
"A witch, okay? I know it sounds crazy, but something isn't right about this." Tug sounded defeated.
"Well then, I guess we all have a mission now," I began.
"What is that?" Everyone asked me, giving me looks of confusion.
"To stop that wedding," I answered, and everyone nodded in agreement.
