Natsu's POV

As soon as we got into the next room we were gassed. When we opened our eyes, we were in a world of white. We looked around but saw nothing. "Talia!" called Jailen in fear. I turned around to see that Talia was missing. "What the hell?" I muttered. Suddenly a house appeared out of nowhere. A young girl was found sitting on the steps. She had a white shirt and black leggings with bare feet. Her brown hair was breast length and eyes a crystal blue with a hint of green. My mouth went dry, "Talia?"

Jailen's POV

What the hell is going on? why can I all of a sudden see? I looked up to see a house. A young girl sat on the steps. I heard Natsu say Talia. I looked at the girl, with my hair fluttering in front of my eyes. she indeed looked like the younger version of Talia that I saw in her pictures. The girl smiled and a sing-song voice exited her mouth.

"Yes, no, and all in between. I am Talia but I am not. Your friend is asleep in the house." "Well hand her over." I snarled at her. "I cannot, for what is there to hand over?" she responded with a sad smile.

"After all, the person is made of the memories she has made." I sat down in pain, knowing that was the truth. "But not all is lost, for memories can be remade." She said smiling and with the wave of her hand a small tear appeared. "Fix her mind and I may be able to give you what you desire."

We all sat there in silence before facing each other. "All right, we'll go." I spoke up. "Ok, but only three may enter." She sang. Once again we sat there in silence all thinking before someone yelled, "Jailen, Natsu, and Erza." We all looked around to see where the voice originated from but before we could, we were shoved through the rift, screaming into the infinite darkness around.

Mystery girl's POV

"Hmm I hope they fix her after all she is the only one who can hold the key. Sadly what they will fix is only a fragment of truth but I fear time will find the rest." As she turned to face the sleeping girl, "May god help you child of war." She stroked her face as she said it.

Erza's POV

When I opened my eyes we found ourselves in a house, silence echoing through the air. I looked around and saw a phantom of Talia standing near the doorway. I saw my comrades looking just as confused at this idea. Jailen walked over and touched the phantom. Suddenly the phantom moved. Jailen backed away in surprise.

"Dad, im home, what's for dinner?" she asked. Silence was all that greeted her, "right, dad works late, what am I saying?...he is never home, no since that day." She muttered as she dropped the newspaper on the floor. Then just as the memory started, it ended just as soon.

I looked at Jailen, who stood there with her mouth open. "Something is very off here." She whispered, "Talia's mom should be here and what's this about her dad never being home? Her dad lives for her… something is very messed up." She began to walk around and I soon followed suit, picking up the newspaper Talia had dropped.

"Local therapists' office shot up by insane patient." Jailen froze in her tracks, then she stormed over and snatched the paper from me. "That's where her mom works, what the hell, this never happened." She muttered, her hands shaking.

"What changed?" Natsu asked, "or better yet, how?" "Maybe fear." I said quietly, suddenly the words on the page glowed and changed to the world, why? Jailen stared before saying, "she's scared because she has seen it happen before and she doesn't want to lose her mom that way." Jailen whispered. Then the glow returned and the words changed. Suddenly the headline was about the robberies in the other places, the phantom went back into place. I touched her this time and in we were back in the beginning of the memory. It was the same, then suddenly she said, "I hope mom makes crepes tonight, I love those." Then the memory ended as everything went black.

Mystery girl's POV

So they have begun, one down two to go. And so they have began to build their escape from this prison, but to what price?

Jailen's POV

When I opened my eyes we were in a school courtyard. Phantoms of children littered around. I soon saw Talia on the slide, sliding down into the awaiting pile of sand to cushion her fall. 'huh, what was this?' I go over and touch her to see the memory. She goes down the slide and approaches the swings. Suddenly her name was called and she rushed into a group of friends. They laugh and the echo ends.

"Ehhh, what's wrong with that?" asked Natsu. I pursed my lips for even I couldn't figure this one out. "Too many people." Erza said. "What?" I asked. "Too many people around her and she seems at ease, that's not the Talia I know, the one I know is lonely and quiet, not this." She responds.

I then remembered what Talia told me about her years before she meet me. she did say that she was lonely all the time. Why had I not realized it sooner? And just like the newspaper earlier, the group glowed but did not ask us anything. I picked one of the children up and began to move it to the other side of the playground. When we had done all that, they still glowed.

"Maybe, they should make mean faces." Joked Natsu. Suddenly the faces became twisted with cruelty and evil. Then the glow stopped. "I have a bad feeling about this." Erza said as I retouched the memory.

She went down the slide like always but in the background I could hear the cruel words of freak, invalid, and whore. 'how did little kids know such words in the first place?' I wondered. I was sickened, as Talia stumbled forwards, her ankles twisted in to the swings. "Can I have this swing?" young Talia asked a mouse brown haired girl. "of course." She responded sweetly, "What's your name?" she asked her. "Talia but you probably know me better as freak or invalid." Talia replied.

"I like your name, it sounds Italian." The girl said. Talia looked at her and then at the ground and mumbled, "What's yours?" "Faith, my name is Faith." She replied with a smile as the memory faded out and all I could feel was a stabbing pain in my chest as she watched the girl hand Talia a necklace.

Mystery girl's POV

Two down, one to go. But will they really be able to complete it? The key is almost open and the gate as well. My child I fear for what awaits you.

Natsu's POV

When the next memory came into focus we were in a house and Talia was at the mailbox with her mother. We were all still shaken from the last memory but I could tell that Jailen looked frightened. I walked over to the phantom and touched her and the memory began, Talia was walking as her mother held the mail.

They made it halfway down the driveway when Talia dropped and broke her phone and as she bent to pick it up I saw her mother hide a letter in her purse. Then the memory stopped. "What the hell?" asked Jailen. The memory reset and was at the mailbox again. "We should move the mother to the house." Erza suggested, "She interfered with something." We did as she said and moved the mother far into the house for no risk. We went back to look for what else to change.

Jailen put the phone in Talia's back pocket. Then we started the memory. We watched as the girl grabbed the mail and began to flip through it. Suddenly she froze, "Oh a letter for me." she said sitting down on the driveway and opened the letter. "Oh, it's from Faith, I wonder…" she smiled as she began to read it. Slowly I watched as her smiling face faded and her hands shook. She set down the letters and put her hands in the envelope to see a necklace pulled out. The same one from the last memory. "Why?" the little girl's voice shook, "Why, why did she kill herself?! Why did they tell me she ran away!?" she screamed as she began crying. I watched, distant as the memory faded with her mother running to her daughter. "What have we done?" I whispered as everything went black.

Mystery girl's POV

It is now complete. I hope for the best, and remember my child, no matter what you are told, keep it hidden, till you see the door.

Jailen's POV

We woke up back in the passage looking around. Talia laid on the ground sleeping, safe but most likely in pain. Everyone gathered around us and began to ask questions on what had happened. As Natsu and Erza answered them I went over to Talia, "Hey, Tal, remember anything?" I asked her.

She blinked owlishly and stared but shook her head no. 'Maybe that's for the best.' I thought as I cradled her small, sleepy head in my lap. She didn't want to know of the hardships she had been through.

Talia's POV

I like my key that pretty girl gave me. It's black but has stars in it. The lady said not to give it to anyone so I won't. But why is the key whispering to me?
