Disclaimer: I own nothing except my imagination and Abbey

a/n: So this is the final chapter to this story. I'm really sad to let it go but I've leaned so much from it and I think it's time to wrap it up with a nice red bow.

5 years later - Abbey's POV

"Andrew James Casey." I said sternly, the little boy stopping dead in his tracks. "This firehouse is not a playground do you understand me?"

"Yes mamma." He let his head fall down to his chest and turned around, disapearing from where he came, probably heading to his father's office. I smiled at the guys from Squad who were sitting at their table, Lily sitting on her father's lap, laughing at something Severide said. I walked past the common room where Caleb was close to Gabby again and back towards the bunk area where I saw Andy with Matt in his office. I sat down painfully on the bench close to his office, my 32 week, twin boys harboring belly becoming highly uncomfortable.

"Mommy used all my name dad." I could hear the sniffles from where I was sitting.

"What were you doing Andy?"

"I was running close to the trucks."

"And do we run close to the trucks buddy?" Matt wasn't angry but he wanted our son to understand.

"No but I was having fun." He didn't quite grasp the concept of danger in a firehouse yet but he usually listened and didn't break the rules.

"I know but you never know when we'll get a call and mom can't run after you the way she used to. Your brothers are starting to be heavy in her tummy."

"Are they going to be here soon?"

"They can come at any time now, are you excited about that?" We had talked to him a lot since I found out I was pregnant and he always acted excited about getting siblings, specially boys but we just wanted to make sure he was ok.

"Yes. I can't wait to see my little brothers." I could hear him smiling as he talked, my eyes welling up with tears, the hormones having their way with my emotions. When I was pregnant with Andrew, I had the most normal, symptomless pregnancy but this time with the twins, my system was all screwed up. I got up with the support of the wall and wadded the few steps I had to make to get to Matt's office door.

"How are my favourite boys doing?" Matt smiled as he saw me, Andrew with his head still bowed down.

"We're good. Andrew tells me he can't wait to see his little brothers. How's mommy doing?"

"When they don't kick or swim up a strom in there, I'm ok except for the pain in my back. Do you mind making me a little spot on the bed with you buddy?" He finally looked up and smiled at me, moving his little body aside to let me sit down. "You know I'm not mad at you right?"

"But mamma, you said my whole name. You don't do that except when you're mad at me." He pouted. I took his chin in my hands and and gave it a little squeeze as I pressed my lips to his cheeks.

"I just want you to be careful buddy. I don't want you to get hurt. I love you too much for that." I laughed, poking his side, making him giggle. Matt was sitting at his desk, a smile on his handsome face.

"What's that smile for babe?"

"I'm just happy. My girl is more beautiful than ever, carrying two baby boys I cannot wait to meet and we have the best five year old we could ask for. What's there NOT to have a smile on my face for?"

"I love you, you know that?"

"I love you too." He smiled but mine turned into a painful scowl. "You ok?"

"A contraction just ripped through my back." I tried breathing as best as I could.

"Take slow breaths."

"Are you ok mamma?" I looked down at Andrew with a smile on my face.

"I'm in a little pain but I think your brothers can't wait to meet you." Another one came and I felt hot liquid against my legs. I looked at Matt and then down and he understood immediately.

"Hey buddy, can you do something for daddy?" The little boy nodded, not really getting what was going on. "I need you to get auntie Leslie, Gabby and Sylvie and tell them that mommy needs to go to the hospital." He nodded again and he left Matt's office to go get his aunts. The three of them returned with a gurney and Herrmann had Andrew in his arms. We had named him and Sylvie god parents to our oldest, both holding a place dear in my heart.

They lowered the gurney and helped me lie down on it, placing a fetal monitor on my very large belly and placing an IV in my arm to keep me hydrated. Just as they put me in the ambo, the overhead paging system was calling every hands on deck for a structure fire, everyone running in the direction of their vehicles.

"Herrmann can be acting lieutenant and I'll call for ambo back up until you get back." Herrmann handed Matt our son and they all went to work. Matt was comforting me all the way to the hospital, holding my hand while Andy was sitting on his lap, his small arms around his neck. As the girls wheeled me in the E.R. and gave their report, they were instructed to get me up to the delivery room. Once we exited the elevators, Matt gave Andrew to Sylvie while they got me settled into a room.

The doctor and some nurses came to see me before I was aloud to have someone with me other than Matt. Sylvie came in with Andrew, sitting him on the side of the bed and he snuggled into me.

"The girls went to help the rest of 51, they said they'd all be there after the fire was under control."

"Thanks Brett." I smiled at her as another contraction hit me. They were monitoring the time between each one but they were getting closer together. The doctor came in about thirty minutes later and they were now every three minutes and I was dilated enough to start pushing. "Ok baby, it's time for you to go sit with auntie Sylvie in the waiting room and hopefully soon, you'll get to meet your little brothers." Matt helped him off the bed and gave him to Brett. She kissed my forehead and wished me good luck before leaving.

"Are you ready baby?" Matt smiled at me, taking my hand in his.

"More than ready." The doctor instructed me to come as close to the end of the bed as possible and put my heels in the feet rests and instructed me to push when I had my next contraction. The pain only intensified and as it became worst, the more pressure I was putting on Matt's hand.

I pushed a few times before the doc told me the head was out and to push again. It took about fifteen minutes before we heard the cry of the first of our twins.

"Chase Jackson Casey." Matt whispered in my ear, making me smile through the pain before I had to push again at the next contraction. It took twice the time to get the second baby boy out and I was starting to get exhausted, Matt telling encouraging words to my ear.

"One last good push Mrs Casey."

"Did you hear that baby? One more push and we get to meet our last little boy, Logan Evan Casey." He pressed his forehead to mine, his smile matching mine just as the last contraction hit my body and I pushed one last time before we heard him cry. I knew my work wasn't done yet and that I needed to deliver the placenta so the doctor instructed me to push again, which I did before he congratulated me on the two new additions to our family.

Matt's POV

After Andrew was born, my dream of having a family had come true. Abbey and I had the boy she dreamed of and I was happy but nothing could prepare me for when we found out she was pregnant again.

I walked into our house one morning after shift, heaving sounds coming from the upstairs master bathroom. Abbey had been sick the night before, we supected food poisoning after doing to the restaurant with Andrew. I found her on the floor with her hair in a messy bun and a washcloth on her neck.

"Hey baby, you still throwing up last night's food?"

"I'm not throwing up much of anything." I rubbed circles on her back, trying to comfort her. I was leaning against the bath tub and I looked up, finally seeing the white and blue stick on our vanity.

"Baby?" I didn't quite know what to think right then. We had tried getting pregnant after having Andrew but chance wasn't on our side. Abbey could get pregnant alright but she had three miscarriages since, our hopes getting lower each time.

"I'm late and I think I might be pregnant." She looked at me with tears in her eyes.

"Did you take the test?"

"Yes but I haven't looked yet. I'm scared of what's going to be there." Sobs overtook her, the fear of being pregnant only to lose it again written all over her face.

"Do you want me to do it?" She nodded and I got up to look at the results on the stick. There was a little blue plus sign staring me in the face. "You're pregnant." I took a seat back down next to her, showing her the test result so she could see it for herself. "We're pregnant." I repeated, a smile on my face. One slowly curled on Abbey's face but I knew that fear all too well. "I know you're scared, I am too."

"What if i can't give you another baby?" She sobbed.

"We have the most perfect son, if this is as good as it gets, I'm more than ok with it, I promise." I kissed her temple.

As soon as we had the doctor's appointment, she put her on bed rest as a precaution until they were sure the baby was safe. She also had to have regular ultra sounds just to make sure nothing was wrong and that's when we got our second miracle.

We walked into the hospital for our second ultrasound, Abbey was twelve weeks along and we were hoping to see our baby for the first time. I knew Abbey was nervous because she was playing with her wedding band.

"Everything is going to be ok baby, you've done everything the doc told you to do."

"I know, I just can't help myself." We gave our names and we sat down in the waiting room to be called. When our names were called, the nurse prepped Abbey for the doctor and I sat in the chair next to her, our fingers intertwined. The OBGYN came in and even though he had followed Abbey during her pregnancy with Andrew and the ones after that, he told us everything that was going to happen. The baby would probably be tiny and that it was a possibility that we wouldn't hear the heartbeat but that he would try. He pressed the cold jelly on her barely there bump even though I could swear it was already bigger than it was with Andrew and he started moving the wand around on her, trying to find a heart. He pointed us where the baby was before it became quiet, hoping to hear the quick thumping sound of the heart.

It took a few minutes for it to fill the small office but it was perfect. We both smiled and I kissed her, happy for it to be so real. The doctor on the other hand, seemed to have something on his mind.

"Is everything ok doc?" He was looking intently at the screen where we could see our baby move and then the smiled appeared again on his face.

"I seem to be getting two heartbeats." The EMT part of her brain knew what it meant but the mommy side and the fear side took over.

"You mean mine and the baby's."

"If we count yours, I seem to be getting three heartbeats." My heart stopped for a few seconds, trying to catch up to what he had just said.

"Does that mean?" I started but couldn't finish.

"That we're having twins?" Abbey finished for me.

"Congratulations." He smiled at us as we started laughing, my lips capturing hers in a loving kiss.

Everything from then on went by perfectly. She was taken off bed rest but taken off of ambo not to jinx anything. She would stay with me while I was on shift with Andrew so I could keep an eye on them both.

Now in that hospital room, all of the past heart ache seemed like a distant memory. Abbey's forehead was covered in sweat from the delivery and she was catching her breath, a smile across her face.

"You did great babe." I kissed her hand.

"Are the babies ok?" She asked, turning her head on the pillow to face me.

"They are perfect." I smiled, seeing the nurse coming with two little beds that they put between us. Chase was snuggled in his blue blanket, sleeping soundly and Logan's little eyes were wide awake, dark blue eyes staring up at us.

"Hi." Abbey smiled, tears falling down her cheeks. I pressed a thumb to them to stop them from falling more. "Why don't you go get Andrew? I'm sure he'll be excited to see his new baby brothers." I smiled at her and went towards the waiting room where all of 51 was gathered, their last call taken care of.

"Daddy." He squirmed out of Sylvie's grasp and ran towards me and I picked him up in my arms.

"Are you ready to meet your brothers?" His smile was worth a thousand words. "Alright. Now mom is very tired and your brothers are sleeping so I need you to be quiet ok?"

"Ok." He wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his head on my shoulder.

"There's my big boy." Abbey smiled at Andy and he let go of my neck, returning the smile. I placed him on the bed next to Abbey and they snuggled together. "This is Chase Jackson and the other one is Logan Evan." Both babies were now asleep but Andrew touched their little hands with his fingers.

"I'm Andy and I'm your big brother." He said softly, listening to my instructions.

"They have the best big brother in the world." Abbey kissed his forehead and offered me a smile that I returned. "Aren't they beautiful?"

"Just like their mom. How about you rest a little bit with Andy and I'll go introduce them to our family?"

"Alright and please bring the four with you when you come back."

"Will do." I pressed a kiss to her forehead and ruffled Andry's hair before I gently took Chase first before the nurse helped me settle Logan in my other arm. The were small but I knew they'd grow into strong little boys. I walked in the waiting room where all of 51 was sitting, waiting. As I walked through the door, all three girls made it to us first, smiles on their faces. "I'd like you to meet Chase Jackson Casey and Logan Evan Casey."

Congratulations and pats on the back were given by everyone in the house.

"How's mamma doing?" Shay asked.

"She's doing great but she'd like to see the four of you." I pointed to Severide, Mills, Dawson and Shay. The girls were all giddy as I handed them a little boy each and we all went back to Abbey's room. Andrew was still snuggled into her and they were talking.

"Hey mom, how're you doing?" Gabby asked her.

"A little bit sore but I'm good." She smiled.

"You make beautiful babies." Mills came and hugged her, placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Thanks Pete." They smiled at each other, their friendship bond was as strong as ever.

"The reason we wanted to see you was to ask you an important question." She started, smiling at me.

"Shay, you're holding Chase Jackson and we wanted you and Severide to be his godparents.

"Yes." They both smiled, Shay cooing over Chase.

"And we want you to be Logan's godparents." Abbey told Pete and Gabby.

"We'd be honoured to." They stayed a while longer before they left us alone as a family.

About three days and lots of visit later, the OBGYN let us go back home, everything being in order. We drove to the house and I helped Abbey out of her truck before taking the twins out and Andrew taking care of himself, wrapping his arms around his mother. She walked slowly, still in pain from the delivery and went up the stairs of the house with a little help from Andrew and I was right behind them with the boys. Andrew went to the living room to play quietly as we made our way upstairs to the boys new room. Andy's room was in what used to be Pete's old room and the guest room was changed into a nursery for Chase and Logan. I placed the car seats on the desks and each unbuckled one and placing them in their crib. Abbey ran her hands against the cribs as I wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Tired babe?"

"No, I'm good." She smiled up at me. "I could watch them forever." She looked back down in the cribs where our two baby boys were sleeping.

"We did good."

"We did great. Thank you." I looked down at her, not really knowing why she was thanking me.

"Thank you for what?"

"For being an amazing partner and being an even more amazing dad." I took her in my arms and made her face me.

"That's because you make me want to be better. Thank you for making me believe in love again and giving me three beautiful sons." I smiled at her.

"I love you Matthew Casey." She smiled back at me.

"I love you too Abbey Mitchell Casey." I leaned down and placed a kiss on her lips.

Abbey's POV

Andrew came bounding in the room as we parted, wrapping his arms around Matt's waist. He took him in his arms and wrapped his other arm around my shoulder. Life had given me obstacles to overcome but in the end I had found the love of my life that gave me the best gift I could ask for, a family. My four boys were my whole world and I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with them.

THE END

So here it is, the end of this story. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who enjoyed this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. I wrote this story for myself to begin with and had friends who encouraged me to post in on the website and share it with the rest of you even if it was an OC story, straight out of my mind and I'm really happy I did.

SOOOO There's this idea for a sequel that's been dancing around in my head for some while now and I want to roll with it so here's what I thought.

The working title will be Firefighters Dream and the synopsis will be : Fighting fires flows through Casey blood but can a career in the CFD ease a mother's worries?

Please leave a review on this last chapter and stay tuned for updates on my other stories Coming Home and Family Chaos. :)- Love, Sarra xx
