++++++ HELLO!
I know it's been like ten months, if not more but here it is-chapter seventy freaking two.
Here's a quick recap of who is with who.
PJ is with Carol, Tyrese, Judith, Spirit and Ollie.
Ebony escaped with Matthew, Jade and Fluffy.
Jason managed to escape with Hope and Hayley.
Daryl was with Beth.
Rick is with Carl and Michonne.
Bob is with Sasha and Maggie.
Glenn is with Tara but assumed missing.
Lizzie and Myka are dead. The prison sanctuary has fallen.
All souls march towards Terminus seeking sanctuary.
Sanctuary is hopeless.
I think that's it.
I apologise again about the absence but I got super sidetracked by life and a cheeky nine and a half month old.
I do not own.
That honor belongs to Master Kirkman and the AMC ++++++
Seventy-Two
Hail Mary, full of grace, the lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Staring through the scope of my sniper rifle all I could really feel was a series of complete and utter contentment as I hid on the top of a burnt out truck, walkers shuffling around it. I'd followed Carol as much as I could in the crowd of the undead before returning my concentration back on Terminus. I could see the people inside just chatting and walking around without a care in the world. That used to be us, we used to be like that. And we were a prime example of the highest and thickest walls don't always keep you safe.
I broke out in a feral grin as I continued to watch through the scope.
Moments later I could hear a slight pop followed by a much louder bang that vibrated through the whole area. I could see the giant billowing smoke cloud that drifted off in the distance. Whatever Carol had hit was enough to draw the walkers in that direction.
Their shifting and moaning changed.
I grinned. "It's all yours, girl. Good luck." I sat up and slung the rifle over my shoulder before sliding off the side of the old petrol tanker I was hiding on. I glanced around for any walkers, there was few and what there was completely ignored me for the noise in the distance.
The blood and guts did work.
Spirit poked his head out of the bushes and trotted after me.
Suddenly I heard a scream.
I knew that scream.
Jade.
I bolted towards the sound and skidded to a stop when I saw a bunch of cars on the road. I counted four men with guns-five including John. I hid in the bushes, watching. When I saw one of the men holding a gun to Jade's head as she cried I almost gave myself away.
John sneered at Ebony as she held her sleeping baby. "You ran away with my child, whore."
Ebony sobbed and shook her head. "No! He's not yours!" she angrily told him.
So it's a boy…
John reached out for the baby but stopped. I couldn't see why but he started to growl. "Those are not my eyes…after all this I expected an heir and you failed me. I should have kept a tighter leash on you!"
He slapped her and ripped the baby out of her arms. "Get rid of it."
The baby started screaming.
"John-" one of the guards started to object.
"Leave it to the biters!" he snapped. "It and the girl."
That is not on you sick son of a bitch.
"No!" Ebony screamed.
John slapped her again. "I'll teach you your place."
I waited until the bearded man gave the baby to Jade than stepped out, bow draw. In rapid succession I fired, hitting each in the middle of the head. "You are a fucking moron."
John grabbed Ebony and held his gun up against her head. "Hello, sis. I suppose I have you to thank for the mess?"
I smirked. "You know me, I like to make an entrance. Let Ebony go."
John shook his head. "The whore betrayed me."
I snorted. "You know what-this behaviour-mum would be ashamed of you. You're dad and you know how much mum hated that kind of attitude-well before she ate him." I dropped my weapons on the ground and waved him over.
John laughed. "I'm better at hand-to-hand combat than you." He shoved Ebony away like she was dirt.
Ebony stumbled a little but managed to run over to Jade and the baby, taking both in her arms and refusing to let them go. I could now see what had angered John so much and that was the baby's startling blue eyes-Daryl's blue eyes.
John dropped his weapons and waved me over.
"PJ-" Ebony whispered.
I shook my head and walked over to John, I was only two steps away when he lashed out. Ducking, I rolled and kicked his legs out from underneath him.
John hit the ground with a thud before pulling me down with him and he elbowed me in the ribs.
I groaned in pain and struggled to pick myself up.
John grabbed my hair and pulled me backwards. He thrust his fist at my face and I blocked it, punching him in the chin and elbowing him in the gut. He let me go and stumbled backwards.
He had that same angry look on his face that he had when he broke my arm when I was a child. Only this look was one of pure rage and I knew if he got his hands on me, John Lucas would kill me.
There was too much at stake. Ebony and her baby, Jade and my baby depended on me coming out of this alive.
"Jade!" I called out. "I need you to scream as loud as you can."
"Don't!" John snapped.
I pulled a knife out of my boot and stabbed John right in the middle of the back, severing his spinal cord.
My brother fell to the ground screaming in pain.
I put my foot in the middle of his back and yanked the knife out. "Jade, get my weapons." I went around, stripping every body of their weapons. I stopped and emptied the duffle John had of its contents and put everything inside.
Jade took the bad and I fixed my weapons back up all whilst John screamed in pain, cursing me.
"I don't understand what's going on," Ebony frowned. "I mean that explosion-"
"That was me and Carol," I grinned, fastening my quiver. I shrugged the rifle over my shoulder and gripped my bow. All of us could hear growling close by. I walked over to John and knelt down in front of him. "After everything you've ever done to me, to all of us…John. You deserve this. In the end-I had more to protect than you did. Goodbye, brother. I hope it hurts a lot."
"PJ!" Ebony hissed as the first walker came from the trees.
It ignored us and went straight for John.
We didn't stick around to what the rest.
After a while, I couldn't help but ask Ebony what had happened to her.
She explained how her waters had broken before the prison had fallen and she was forced to escape with Matthew, Jade and Fluffy. Later they managed to find Joshua, Hope, Hayley and Lucas. She gave birth in a protective circle to a healthy baby boy and a stillborn baby girl. Jason delivered them and he was the one to give mercy to the baby girl so she didn't turn. Lorelai Philomena Dixon was buried with Jade's fire opal as Ebony held Benjamin Jason Dixon in her arms tightly.
Little BJ was strangely quiet given the situation. He clung to Ebony but spent most of the time sleeping and taking in his mother's milk.
I smirked at the mention of his nickname. Everyone had to have abbreviations.
I started a trend.
"Where are we going?" Jade asked me as we walked. In the distance we could all hear the sounds of screams and gunfire.
"Tyreese is waiting for us with Judith," I told her. "Don't worry, we'll be okay. I promise."
First, I had to clean up-I was starting to smell myself.
