This chapter has a time jump. We see Jade's plan, with Shelby's help, to make Tori jealous.
The Jori, kinda I guess, starts as well.

Tori POV
It's been almost a month since the volleyball game, and I've noticed something. Jade and Shelby have been hanging out at the gym after school on occasion and spending almost all of Saturday together. On Saturdays, the two would arrive back at the Vega house after night fell, sweaty, which is a massive red flag for Jade to sweat and laugh about it, and tired, but always laughing and having a good time.
The two would shower after, taking turns, and Jade would end up joining us for dinner.
At least twice a week, not counting Saturdays, Jade would go to the gym after school, then stop by to shower and eat dinner with us, just to leave soon after finishing dinner, surprising everyone by giving Shelby a brief hug before leaving.
"Okay, what the hell?" Trina asks when Jade leaves one Wednesday evening as mom does the dishes and dad heads up to his office to do some quick paperwork.
"What?" Shelby asks, staring at me and Trina, the two of us giving her a confused look. "Why do I feel like dad's interrogating me when I'm interested in someone?" She asks as she backs away slowly.
"Why are you and Jade spending so much time together, sweaty when you come over, and acting like you've been best friends since childhood?" I ask, staring at her.
"She asked me to help her train and learn to defend herself, and I accepted." Shelby says, staring at us.
"Defend herself?" Trina asks, crossing her arms over her chest and staring at her like I picture dad does a perp who's sounding dishonest. "Ninety percent of the people at Hollywood Arts are petrified of her. Nine percent are skittish around her. And only Tori, their friends, and you aren't totally afraid of her." She says, staring at Shelby.
"And why would you accept? You don't train for free. Rod wouldn't allow it." I point out, knowing how her manager is.
"She's paying the usual fee." Shelby says, standing in front of us. "And she just said she wanted to learn kick boxing." She says, shrugging her shoulders. "Though, personally, I think she just wants to hurt more people with different ways." She says, turning around and heading for the couch to watch some random t.v. before bed.
"I want to go with you this Saturday." I say, following her, Trina on my tail.
"For?" Shelby and Trina ask, staring at me.
"What? I want to be able to defend myself. At least build up my stamina more for when I'm singing and dancing on stage. I tend to get out of breath towards the end of a performance." I say, shrugging my shoulders as I sit beside her.
"Uh, okay. That's kinda random." Trina says, sitting on Shelby's other side. "Good luck." She says, grabbing the remote and changing it to a reality show she seems to obsess over.
"If you really want to, sure. We leave at seven in the morning to pick up Jade, and Rod is dropping the SUV off later tonight since the windows are dark and no one will see two Shelby's or two Tori's." Shelby says, grabbing the remote and changing it to an old action movie playing, smirking when Trina lets out a screech of annoyance.
"Sure. What should I wear?" I ask, planning how I'm going to work out while keeping an eye on the two of them.
"Work out shorts, sports bra or something similar, ankle socks, tennis shoes." Shelby lists off as the movie plays. "Grab your PearPod as well so you can listen to music while working out on some of the machines. It helps you focus." She says, putting the remote down the front of the loose tank top she's wearing when Trina tries to grab the remote from her, knowing Trina won't risk trying to grab it.
"Uh, okay." I say, silently frowning, knowing that if I'm listening to music, I can't hear them.
We sit and watch the movie for about forty-five minutes before heading to bed.
Throughout the rest of the week, I watch how Jade is around school. She seems to be texting someone on her phone a lot, and before lunch on Friday, I overheard her talking on the phone. I didn't know who, until I heard her say 'Shell', one of Shelby's nicknames.
'Why is she talking to Shelby so much?' I ask myself as she hangs up and makes her way out to lunch, not noticing me behind her.
Now, Shelby and I are on our way to Jade's house to pick her up. For some reason, she claims it's so I can get some extra sleep, she asked me to sit in the back seat, allowing Jade to sit in the passenger seat.
I grow suspicious of the small blush on her cheeks when she mentioned Jade's name.
"What are you doing here?" Jade asks as she opens the door and spots me, closing the door and putting her seatbelt on.
"Felt like training with you two. Want to build up my stamina for when I'm performing and stuff." I say, sticking with the story I told Shelby.
"Good luck. Juan doesn't go easy, and neither does Shelby." Jade says, making herself comfortable. "So, how hard are you planning on riding me today?" She asks with a seductive tone, making my mouth drop and eyes widen at her words.
"Eh, not too hard today. I gotta save my energy. I'm preparing for a double team in a few months, and I need all the training I can give myself." Shelby says, driving away from Jade's house and towards the gym.
"Nice. How do you train for a double team? That seems like hard work." Jade asks, ignoring the confused sounds I'm making as Shelby drives.
Shelby POV
I have to bite my tongue as Jade and I talk. When she and I first started training, I brought up the idea to make Tori jealous with us hanging out. And when Tori mentioned joining us, I text Jade that night to let her know. All week, Jade and I have been texting back and forth, coming up with a plan for today.
Apparently, Tori overheard Jade and I yesterday on my lunch break, Jade noticed her, and Jade decided to throw in a pet name when we hung up.
That phone call was Jade and I finalizing the plan for today, which included Jade's idea for us to talk about things in a sexual manner when they're anything but.
I do have to train for a double fight, but they're two months apart. I call it a double fight because as soon as the first is over, I have to immediately start training for the second, and travel. The first fight is here in L.A., but the second is in New York.
"Hope you can handle the double. You gotta train your ass for that." Jade says, glancing at Tori in the rearview mirror, a hidden smirk on her face at Tori's face.
"I know. They're huge too. I've never handled anything that big before." I say as we keep up the innuendo talk.
After ten more minutes of driving, and Jade and I messing with Tori, we pull up to the gym. I smile to Juan as I park beside his car.
"Welcome back Tori." Juan says, hugging my twin.
"Yeah." Tori says, staring at Jade and me. "What do they usually do?" She asks him as he unlocks the doors and lets us in.
"Don't know. They do some warm ups with me, but after that, they go to Shelby's private room." Juan says. What Tori doesn't know, we got Juan and even Rod in on it. "From what I hear, and see when before they shower, they sure do work up a sweat. And their clothes always seem disheveled." He adds on, closing the doors behind him. "So, Shelby informed me you want to work on your stamina?" He asks as if the conversation he was just having with her never happened.
"Uh, yeah. To make performing easier." Tori says, staring at Jade and I as we make our way to the 'private room', which is just a medium sized room with training dummies, some weights, and resistance bands. "Where are they going?" I hear her ask as I open the door and Jade and I walk in.
"Oh, this is funnier than I thought." Jade says, laughing a bit when the door closes. We have to be careful because the room isn't soundproof. The windows are blocked by black-out curtains, but that's the only real protection from the other side of the walls.
"I should have put a camera on the dash to catch her reaction. Priceless." I say, chortling, as I head over to the dummy I used to practice my strikes. "Nice timing on whispering 'off' when talking about training my ass." I say, quickly going into a succession of kicks, grunting with each contact.
"Thank you. I am the best actress in Hollywood Arts' history." She says, going to a nearby dummy and practicing her punching, letting out soft moans, both of us knowing Tori's listening at the door.
"You like that, don't you Jade?" I ask her as we practice, both of us hiding our laughter.
"Oh, Shelby. You're so good with your thrusting." Jade moans out, laughing at the end almost as she rolls her eyes.
The next few hours go on like this until we finally break for lunch. To keep up appearances, Jade and I mess with our clothes to make them look hastily put on. As I open the door, we try to make it look like we're straightening out our clothes. "Hey sis." I say, walking up to her. "How's the work out going?" I ask her as I get to the stair climber machine she's using.
"Not as good as yours, apparently." She says through gritted teeth, avoiding my gaze.
"Oh, we always give each other a work out." I say, combing my 'disheveled' hair. By that I mean, I just grabbed it and kept messing with it to look like someone grabbed it and pulled, something I can see Jade doing.
"Who's hungry for fish?" Jade asks, toweling herself off. By the hesitation on Tori's part, she caught what Jade was 'implying'.
"Do they have anything white on the outside and pink on the inside? I love that." I say, walking towards her, making a joke about her skin tone.
"I know someone who does." Jade says, playing along.
"Can you take me home, Juan?" Tori says, jumping off the machine and heading to grab her towel.
"What's wrong?" I ask, having an idea, but worried about how quick she jumped off and wants to leave.
"I don't want to be here while you two do, whatever, and talk about it like it's nothing." Tori says, grabbing a water bottle and chugging it.
"Tori, nothing is going on." I say honestly.
"Oh, so you two weren't fucking each other and making sex jokes about eating each other?" Tori asks, glaring at me. "I'm leaving." She says with a tired sigh.
"It was a joke." Jade says, grabbing Tori's arm.
"Something was, alright." Tori says, pulling herself out of Jade's grasp. As she walks to the door, Juan following with a worried look of his own, she stops at the door and looks at us over her shoulder. "What was a joke?" She asks, staring at Jade.
It's now or never. Do we tell her the truth? Or do we make the mistake and lie?
Next chapter will be a continuation of this. What do you think Shelby and Jade will do?
