A/N: Wow, it's been far too long since I last wrote something! With school and then NaNoWriMo, I hadn't had the time for this little story! Sorry for the people who actually care for it! More fluff is on the waaay!
Chapter 9
Ayumu woke up to sun streaming in through the widow and in his face. He blinked and rolled over, noticing Hizumi had fallen over on the floor and was spread out, his mouth open and breathing very loudly. Ayumu couldn't help but laugh to himself and lightly throw a pillow on top of him.
Hizumi jolted awake in surprise, looking around in a panic.
Ayumu laughed and jumped out of bed, stretching his arms into the air. "You'd think I'd be the jumpy one," Ayumu yawned.
Hizumi smirked. "Don't say anything like that after last night."
Ayumu's face flushed. "Don't speak of that to anyone! I was tired, I don't know why I was so freaked out because of a dream."
"It's okay to be afraid once in a while," Hizumi said, standing up yawning. He smiled over at Ayumu. "I don't mind you leaning on me every now and again."
"Don't say things like that," Ayumu mumbled, moving his way past Hizumi and out the door.
"I need to redress your wounds," Hizumi said, following Ayumu at his heels. "The doctor told me to."
"I can do it."
"Not well, you can't," Hizumi protested. "You have wounds all over, you'll need help. Not to mention your left hand is close to useless."
Ayumu looked at his fully wrapped hand as he walked into the bathroom and sighed. "Fine." Feeling all too self-conscience, Ayumu struggled to get his shirt over his head. Ayumu held his arms up as Hizumi began to unwrap the gauze that covered his whole torso.
"Sorry," Hizumi said as he noticed Ayumu flinch.
"Not your fault," Ayumu said through clenched teeth. He kept his eyes closed and cursed at himself as he felt his face heat up. After Hizumi's confession, Ayumu was all too aware of the devil's hands on his bare skin. Ayumu felt Hizumi's hand rest on his chest and Ayumu opened his eyes confused. He saw Hizumi looking sadly at the numerous cuts and burns that scattered his chest.
"I'm sorry. If only I came sooner, maybe this wouldn't have happened," Hizumi whispered.
"I'm sure if you could have come sooner, you would have," Ayumu said with a slight shrug. "It's not like I died. These wounds will go away some day."
"You act like you're all okay with it, but I know the truth," Hizumi smiled, smearing the medical cream on the cuts.
"I told you to not bring that up," Ayumu groaned.
"And I won't in front of people," Hizumi smirked. "But I won't let you forget it." Hizumi finished wrapping up Ayumu's chest and worked on his wrists and ankles. "How do you feel?"
"Sore. Extremely sore," Ayumu groaned. "I want to crawl in a hole and sleep for a month. Maybe by then it won't hurt."
Hizumi laughed sadly and led Ayumu out of the bathroom. "What do you want for breakfast? I'll make whatever you want!" Hizumi exclaimed excitedly.
Ayumu lowered himself into a chair slowly. "I don't care."
"You're no fun," Hizumi pouted. "And here I was going to pamper you."
"Stop saying things like that so easily," Ayumu said flustered.
"Why? I'm not going to start acting all embarrassed even after what I said last night," Hizumi grinned. "That's just not my personality."
Ayumu turned away in order to hide is reddening face. "Whatever, I want pancakes then."
"Blueberry pancakes?" Hizumi asked.
"What is up with you and blueberries?" Ayumu said with a chuckle.
"I don't know," Hizumi admitted. "But I'm going to make blueberry pancakes."
Ayumu watched as Hizumi started mixing everything clumsily into a bowl, making batter spill in every direction. "Have you ever cooked before?" Ayumu asked as Hizumi struggled to get a piece of the egg shell out of the mix.
"No," Hizumi said sheepishly. "But how hard can it be? You just mix everything together!"
"You're making it seem very hard," Ayumu laughed. "Let me—"
"No!" Hizumi said sternly, making Ayumu pause halfway off the chair. "Sit," Hizumi commanded. Ayumu sat back down stunned by the harsh tone. Hizumi regained his smile. "You're injured, so let me do at least this much for you."
"You're weird," Ayumu mumbled.
"Maybe," Hizumi said, humming as he began to cook the pancakes. He brought the plate of pancakes to the table and smiled triumphantly. "I did it."
Ayumu couldn't help but laugh. "You act like such a kid sometimes."
Hizumi shrugged and placed a piece of pancake on a fork and held it out.
Ayumu raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"
"Say 'Ah'," Hizumi said, bringing the fork closer to Ayumu's mouth.
"I can eat by myself!" Ayumu protested. "Only my left hand is bad!"
"Oh, come on, let me spoil you," Hizumi said with a straight face.
"No, this isn't normal! Just give me the fork!"
"Just say 'Ahhh'," Hizumi continued. He continued to move forward, trying to feed Ayumu the piece of food. Staring hard at Hizumi, Ayumu wordlessly dropped his jaw so the pancake could enter his mouth. Hizumi smiled victoriously. "Another piece!" Hizumi exclaimed, stabbing another piece onto the fork.
"No, that's enough, now let me feed myself," Ayumu complained.
"Say 'Ahh'," Hizumi ignored.
"Stop treating me like a kid, I said no more!" Ayumu objected. Hizumi continued forward, ignoring Ayumu's protests. Ayumu instinctively backed away. "I said just give me the fork."
"Aw, just let me feed you," Hizumi said, still leaning forward.
Ayumu continued to lean away. "Just give me—" Ayumu got cut off as the chair slid away from beneath him and he toppled towards the floor.
"Ayumu!" Hizumi exclaimed.
Ayumu clenched his eyes shut waiting for his head to make impact with the ground, but it never came. He opened his eyes to see Hizumi over him with one hand wrapped around Ayumu's back elevating him slightly above the floor.
"Whew," Hizumi breathlessly laughed, "We don't want to add concussion on top of the list of all your injuries. Are you alright?"
Ayumu felt his face flare red at the little distance between them. "I-I'm fine, you can get off now."
"Are you getting embarrassed?" Hizumi asked smiling. "Or don't tell me you're getting a fever now," he teased, leaning in so their foreheads were touching.
Ayumu's face burned even more. "It's your fault! Ever since you said that last night I can't help but feel a little self-conscience! What makes it worse is that I don't know if you were just kidding and I could be getting all nervous for nothing!"
Hizumi's face turned serious, making Ayumu freeze. "I wasn't kidding. I can prove I wasn't kidding," Hizumi said in a whisper.
Ayumu's eyes widened as Hizumi started to lean his face in closer. It was slow enough that Ayumu knew he could back away, but he was frozen in shock. Even if he could move, Ayumu didn't know if he would. Right before their lips met, a loud crashing noise made both boys jump in surprise.
"Sorry, sorry," Katsu stuttered as she caught one of the bowls used for pancakes that fell off the counter. The other clashed with the ground and leftover batter splattered the floor. She clumsily tried to stop everything from moving. "Sorry," she said again.
Hizumi glared over at her as Ayumu quickly scrambled away from the awkward position.
"What are you doing here?" Hizumi asked menacingly.
Katsu's face was just as flushed as Ayumu's. "Well, I wasn't expecting that, that's for sure! I got startled!"
"That doesn't answer my question," Hizumi said, standing up.
Katsu shrugged. "Fine, I was going to sneak up and kill Ayumu. Then you started feeding him and I thought 'that's cute, I can wait'. Then when he fell over I thought it'd be perfect to do it in all the confusion. But then you were starting to get all intimate and I backed away in shock, causing things to fall off the counter."
"We were not getting intimate!" Ayumu protested, his face bright red.
"Just leave," Hizumi said.
"Don't be so harsh," Katsu pouted. "I'm a little surprised, though. Who would have thought you'd be into guys?"
"Not just any guys," Hizumi countered. "Just Ayumu."
Katsu looked over at Ayumu, who was refusing to make eye contact. She looked back over at Hizumi. "Sorry."
"For what?" Hizumi asked confused.
Katsu elbowed Hizumi in the side, causing him to fall out of the way. She whipped out a dagger from her belt and started to run towards Ayumu.
A/N: Confession: I made that all up as I was going! Lol. Now, I know how I kind of want to end it, and I could do it soon. Or I could come up with some more torturing. I don't care. Review and tell me what I should do! Thanks for being patient with me!
