Sorry for another long wait! I hope you like this chapter :)

"Ow...You have a harder head than I expected." Levy pouted, wincing while rubbing her forehead.

When she opened her eyes again, Gajeel was hanging over the side of the bed.

"What are you do—" her sentence cut off with a squeak when he reemerged with the book in his hand.

'No, no, no, no!'

"So what were you reading?"

Levy couldn't move a muscle as he flipped through the pages.

"U-um…." Her mind couldn't even form words.

Levy could see him cock a studded brow over the top of the book.

"You read this shit, Shrimp?"

"I-it's Erza's technically. I was just c-curious." she stuttered in embarrassment, whipping her head to the side to ignore his gaze.

"Were you now?" he asked huskily

Again he pulled her close and a blush instantly came to her face. His lips, set in a devilish grin, were just a hair's breadth from touching hers again. His other hand came up to her face. And flicked her nose.

Simultaneous disappointment and relief washed over the blunette's body.

"Tch. I should'a known Titania was into that stuff."

Lily's gruff voice timely called them for dinner.

"C'mon, let's eat."

"That was great!" Levy pat her stuffed stomach. "I didn't know how well you could cook."

"Well how else would I feed myself? Gajeel can't cook that well."

The dragon slayer leaned back on his chair, obviously miffed.

"I can cook just fine, furball." He grumbled at the Exceed flying away with the dishes.

"So, Levy. It's getting late, are you going to stay the night?" Lily grinned wolfishly

Gajeel lurched forward on his chair, glaring daggers into the back of his cat's head.

Levy turned scarlet and waved her hands in front of her.

"Um, no…I have work to do tonight and I promised Lu-chan that I would hang out with her tomorrow."

"Oh, too bad."

"Thank you for dinner though!" She bowed politely and grinned wide.

"Of course. You're welcome anytime."

"Hey, don't go acting like you own the place!"

As Levy retrieved her things from Gajeel's bedroom, Lily spoke up.

"I knew it. You liikkkeee her."

"You spend too much time with Salamander's damn cat."

"Don't change the subject; I'm pretty sure I know what happened when that door was closed."

"I-it wasn't like that! We just talked and…kissed."

"Heh. Good for you, Gajeel. I mean it." He gave flustered dragon slayer a pat on the arm.

" Well anyways…it's dark. You should walk her home." The Exceed couldn't resist getting one last shot in. "Maybe you'll get another one."

"Another what?" came Levy's innocent voice.

"Nothin'!" he said as he swatted a grinning Lily.

"C'mon, I'll walk you home."

"Thank you again for dinner. I had a really nice time." Levy blushed before nearly tackling Gajeel with a hug.

"You're really something, you know that?" he spoke softly into her hair.

She looked up at him, hazel eyes wide. He ruffled her hair and smiled as he walked away.

"Goodnight, Lev."

Levy spent the morning with Jet and Droy in their usual fashion - at the guild library. She and the boys were still raking in the Jewels for translations. The two complained about her sharing the wage when she was the one doing all the work, but she wouldn't have any of it. She ended up recruiting them to be gophers for the books she needed for translating, to stop their whining. As the afternoon neared, they parted ways and Levy eased into a new book.

It seemed like an age had passed when she heard her best friend's voice.

"Levy!" She saw Lucy accompanied by Natsu and Happy.

"Lu-chan! You're here already!" But looking down, she realized she was nearly halfway through her novel.

"Of course, you have to tell me all about your night." The blonde spoke softly behind her hand.

"What'd you do last night?" The flame dragon slayer asked innocently.

'Dragon hearing…whoops' Lucy sighed, she didn't want her best friend's personal life getting out. Natsu had a big mouth.

"Oh nothing, don't you two have something better to do"? She snapped

"Not really." Happy blurted out nonchalantly.

"Get out!" Lucy shoved the duo out of the library, sighing while leaned against the double doors.

Levy giggled.

"Now…where were we?"

"We were getting lunch, remember?"

"Levy! You're no fun!" Lucy laughed while the pair linked arms and left the guild.
