A/N I am terrible with studying, that is why I am currently working on a chapter rather than studying for my math exam tomorrow, that could decide whether I'll have to endure another semester of Calc 2…
The trouble was, I was so burnt out from the terribleness of my last exam (computer science) that I needed a break and in turn made it really hard to get my brain moving.
So this chapter is here so I can get the gears upstairs turning, and hopefully makes studying easier, plus it'll put us one step closer to the fantastic ending I promised you guys.
Which really just keeps getting farther and farther away because there's too much stuff to fit within one or two chapters.
Really I'd love to say this is the final chapter, I really wanted to end it on 75, but it would just be too much in one chapter. I still have to start Masquerade and the brawlers fight.
But anyways, we are getting there, its just taking a good bit of time to get ALL THE WAY there.
Chapter 75
The wind whipped around the area as Shun faced off against Gus. For a moment they just stood there, hair black and blue hair dancing in the wind as the two brawlers sized each other up. Then wordlessly in the same fluid moment Shun flipped over his field card and Gus slotted in his field card and the field activated around them.
Like before, when a field card and the gauntlet was activated there was a surge of energy that caused energy to ripple out from the center slamming into the two brawlers. But both remained unmoved, eyes locked, as the two clashing systems fought for dominance for just a moment before the attribute circle appeared at their feet, and they were transported to the white space that Shun was so familiar battling in.
"So glad to see that understand the situation," Gus said, Shun merely inclining his head as he held his gate card in preparation of throwing it out. "I was afraid we'd be delayed through irritating prattling."
Shun scoffed as he threw out his gate card, the green gate card expanding in front of Gus. "I feel that talking is unnecessary." He folded his arms across his chest. "I defeat you, I can get to the hospital and help the others. So," Skyress flew up beside him floating beside his head. "There's no reason to engage in meaningless conversation when I need to defeat you as soon as possible, throw down your card." Shun said unfolding his arms. "And, lets get this battle started."
Gus nodded. "Then we understand each other, let us battle." Having been advised by his master and Viki, he was now well versed in the way battles had been done in the past. He threw out his card and watched it expand in front of Shun.
Once the card appeared on the field Shun pulled out a green bakugan ball.
"Bakugan Brawl! Monarus stand!" Shun cried as he threw out his Monarus, the elegant butterfly lady appearing on his gate card. With a soft cry the butterfly woman gracefully fluttered her wings as she flew above the card.
'Monarus enters battle at 330 gs.'
Gus raised an eyebrow, "That's an awfully weak bakugan," When Shun didn't respond he merely shrugged. "Very well then," He pulled out a bakugan of his own. "Bakugan Brawl! Subterra Anchorsaur stand!" He shouted as he threw out the brown and orange bakugan ball.
Shun blinked as he took in the sight of the strange new bakugan that appeared on the field across from his Monarus. "Anchorsaur? That's a new one."
"He's actually quite common where I'm from." Gus replied. "But he should be plenty to defeat your Monarus."
'Subterra Anchorsaur enters battle at 350 gs.'
Shun chuckled. "Well all right then," He pulled out an ability card. "Ability Activate! Light Spore!"
Monarus's wings glowed as she flew above Anchorsaur and began flapping her wings, spores floating off her wings and down on Anchorsaur making the beast stagger back slightly shaking his head from side to side before seeming to recover and growl at Monarus.
'Power levels unchanged.' The bakupod and gauntlet reported making Gus frown.
"Whatever, if you won't attack we will, get that Monarus Anchorsaur!" He commanded with a wave of his hand.
Anchorsaur roared as it rushed at Monarus and aimed a punch at the dainty butterfly lady.
However just as Anchorsaur's fist neared Monarus, the lizard stiffened and doubled over as if in pain.
"What?" Gus said frowning at Anchorsaurs pain.
'Anchorsaur power level decrease by 50 gs to 300 gs, advantage Monarus at 330 gs.'
"Light Spore, is an ability makes it so that once Monarus has afflicted your bakugan with it, every time it tries to attack one of my bakugan its g power decreases by 50 gs." Shun said simply. Gus gritted his teeth.
"Then we'll just have to take that into account." Gus slotted in an ability card into his gauntlet. "Ability activate! Double Down!"
Gus's gate card glowed orange as the ability card took affect and shattered apart. Then the glowing fragments flew into Anchorsaur doubling its power.
'Anchorsaur at 600 gs.'
"Now Anchorsaur attack his Monarus!" Gus ordered Anchorsaur roaring and rushing forwards slashing at Monarus.
'Anchorsaur power decrease by 50 gs to 550 gs.'
Shun raised his hand. "Gate Card Open!" He shouted as the gate card lit up in a light green color. "Hyper Merge!"
Anchorsaur snarled stopping with his claws mere inches from Monarus. Energy began to flow off the beast and into Monarus the butterfly lady flapping her wings faster as her power surged upwards.
'Transfer of 200 gs from Anchorsaur to Monarus, Monarus at 530 gs, Anchorsaur at 350 gs.'
Gus gritted his teeth as Monarus spun around and slammed a side kick into Anchorsaur, sending the bakugan flying. Anchorsaur screeched before reverting and landing at Gus's feet.
Monarus did a twirl in mid air before she reverted and flew back to Shun.
Gus frowned and then he chuckled. "Perhaps I didn't give you as much credit as I should." He said pulling out his bakugan. "I won't underestimate you this time,"
Shun's lip quirked slightly, despite the two being enemies, despite the two trying to accomplish two very different but both equally important goals, Shun couldn't deny that he was enjoying the brawl. It had been too long since he felt strong, and in control again. He raised his gate card. "Then lets move on to round two."
Gus nodded, "Gate Card Set!" He shouted tossing out his card, as Shun did the same across from him the two cards expanding in between them.
"This time I'll throw first, bakugan brawl!" Gus drew back his hand and threw out a new subterra bakugan out onto the field. The bakugan landed on his gate card and appeared in a flash of orange light. "Rise Subterra Hammersaur."
Shun watched as yet another unfamiliar bakugan rose up in front of him, this one wearing large bulky circular claws over its smaller appendages.
'Subterra Hammersaur enters at 400 gs.'
Shun nodded. "Another powerful choice." He said as he held up Monarus. "Bakugan Brawl!" He said tossing out Monarus, the green bakugan ball bouncing twice onto Gus's gate card near Hammersaur's feet. "Stand Ventus Monarus!"
With a musical cry the bakugan burst forth from her ball form and flapped her dainty wings once.
'Ventus Monarus enters battle at 330 gs.'
Gus frowned. "A repeat performance from Monarus, huh." He mused narrowing his eyes slightly. "Hammersaur! Attack!" He ordered the reptile snarling as it rushed forwards and aimed one of its large hammer like claws at Monarus.
"Ability Activate!" Shun cried raising an ability card. "Shield dust!"
Monarus flapped her wings dust flying up and hitting Hammersaur making the beast growl as it tried to rub the dirt out of its eyes.
'Hammersaur, power level decrease to 330 gs."
"Now we'll add this! Fusion Ability! Wing Gale!" Shun said moving his finger slightly revealing a card tucked behind his Shield Dust ability.
Monarus's wings glowed and she began bombarding Hammersaur with powerful gusts of wind.
'Monarus power level increase by 50 gs to 380 gs'
Gus frowned. "Gate Card open!" He shouted raising his hand the card glowing bright orange. "Subterra reactor!" He shouted.
He watched as a sandy desert took form expanding out from the card and covering the empty white land. However, despite changing the appearance of the world around them, Hammersaur was still struggling against the violent wings that Monarus was generating with each passing flap of her wings.
Gus's eyes widened, "What?!"
Shun smirked as he folded his arms across his chest. "Shield dust is an ability card that lowers a bakugan to Monarus's power level and prevents them from getting any stronger than Monarus's base power level, couple that with Gale Wings and Monarus becomes powerful enough to defeat your hammersaur."
With a fierce cry Monarus flapped her wings as hard as she could, blowing Hammersaur back. The dino tried to slam one of his massive claws into the ground to get a grip. But as he moved forwards to bury his claw into the ground, Monarus unleased a powerful barrage of wind. With Hammersaur's balance completely lost he was thrown off the card and reverted in a blaze of orange.
Gus growled clenching his fists as Hammersaur rolled to a halt at his feet, while Shun across from him caught Monarus.
"Your problem is you keep trying to overpower me, sending out much stronger bakugan, expecting me to respond in turn." Shun said simply as he inspected Monarus for a moment. "Here's the deal, I need to get to that hospital." Shun said closing his hand around Monarus. "Lets end this battle here, as a draw, and I can get to help my friends, and you can save face in front of your Master."
Gus shook his head. "I'm sorry Shun, I was hoping you wouldn't push me to this." He pulled out a card from his pocket making Shun's eyes narrow and a gasp to erupt from Skyress.
"Shun that's-!"
Shun frowned and nodded. "I know Skyress," He said eyeing the doom card that Gus held. "So that's how you want to play?"
Gus released the card allowing it to drop into the ground and disappear, 3 purple ripples moving across the battlefield. "If I am fated to be defeated, I am to cripple you. That was the other order Master Spectra gave me." His expression became deadly serious. "And I would never go back on an order from Master Spectra."
Shun shook his head. "What has he possibly done that would warrant such loyalty?!" Shun said sounding incredulous.
"It is something you would not understand. Now ready your bakugan, I will battle for the honor of my master!" Gus said as he pulled out a new bakugan, Shun frowning.
"Right." Shun said. "Skyress? Will you help me?"
Skyress turned to him and nodded. "Yes, allow me to give you victory without the loss of our ally bakugan." She said looking towards the Monarus in Shun's hand.
Shun nodded as he put Monarus away and held out his hand for Skyress who landed lightly in his hand and closed up. "Lets go, bakugan brawl! Skyress descend!" He shouted as he hurled Skyress onto his gate card.
Skyress's ball form glowed brightly and a bolt of green lightning erupted from it and flew up into the sky. Storm clouds gathering.
"Prepare to meet defeat," Skyress said as she descended spreading her wings. "For I will not fall to the likes of you!" She said punctuating it with an ear piercing shriek.
Gus scoffed. "We'll see about that. Bakugan Brawl!" He cried throwing out his bakugan. "Stand Subterra Primo Vulcan!" He shouted.
Vulcan appeared in a blaze of light straightening up and sizing up Skyress, as Skyress did the same.
'Battle recognized, Ventus Skyress at 430 gs, versus Subterra Primo Vulcan at 500 gs.'
"Vulcan, for the glory of our Master destroy Skyress."
Vulcan nodded and rushed forwards. "As you command Gus," He said rushing at Skyress.
"Get them Skyress!" Shun shouted as Skyress screeched and flew at Primo Vulcan.

In another second in the brawling space, Lenorence had taken to the air and was darting out of the way of the huge mechanical behemoth and his razor sharp fangs that were intent on taking a bite out of the winged lion.
Lenorence was doing his best to use his size and speed to keep out of Superior's range, the mechanical bakugan was bigger and that meant that Lenorence could outmaneuver him, at the moment.
Alica scowled, Superior's wings were partially folded and so far he'd remained grounded, quite content in smacking Lenorence around when the lion practically ran into his claws to avoid a killing bite from razor sharp fangs.
"Hmm this is rather entertaining." Meredith mused having sat down on the ground and tilting her head back as she watched Superior lazily slash and chomp after Lenorence. The mechanical bakugan's purple optics were gleaming in mirth as he watched Lenorence fly around him.
"Enough of this!" Alica said flicking her hand and allowing her green cloak swishing with the movement. "Ability activate!" She cried raising a card. "Ventus Strike Down!" She shouted.
Lenorence roared as he spread his wings and flew up higher circling in the air just out of Superior's reach when grounded.
Superior merely tilted his head his optics glittering as Lenorence picked up speed as he flew in a circle the wind beginning to pick up making Meredith and Alica's clothes whip with the wind. Meredith raised a hand to shield her eyes as Lenorence began to glow bright green.
Superior shifted slightly spreading his wings minutely as he watched Lenorence, his purple optics flickering to green for one moment before returning to their normal purple.
Lenorence stopped circling glowing bright green, then he twisted in mid air, folded his wings and dove at Superior the green glow surrounding him getting stronger and stronger until Lenorence was an arrow of green energy aimed directly at Superior's chest.
'Ventus Lenorence massive power increase detected, Lenorence increase to 600 gs.'
Superior spread his wings watching the attack rush closer and closer.
Then Meredith slotted in an ability card, "Ability Activate!" She shouted over the wind. "Metal Rush!"
With Lenorence only a mere foot away from slamming into Superior, Superior glowed brightly and Lenorence's attack struck the green arrow reaching the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust over the battle field.
Alica laughed knowing there was no way for the ability to have done anything. "What a waste of an ability card Meredith, you waited too long." She said her laughter beginning to sound like a crazed witch's cackling. She grinned as the dust cleared to expose Meredith's face, and Alica's laughter died down and the girl frowned looking at the black haired girl with a confused expression.
Meredith wasn't crying, or looking the slightest bit concerned in fact the black haired girl was-Alica's eyes widened-smirking. As the smoke cleared more she could see Meredith was holding her gauntlet across her chest the card slotted in glowing brightly.
A pained yowl met Alica's ears and Alica diverted her attention from Meredith's strange antics to look towards Lenorence and her jaw dropped as her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
Rather than Lenorence stand over the toppled Superior, Superior was standing over Lenorence, the lion pinned to the gate card with one powerful metal claw. Superior lowered his head and opened his massive maw to expose the rows and rows of vicious teeth.
Alica took a step back, jaw closing as she gritted her teeth. "Wha-what?! But how?! Superior should've fallen after that attack! How did he survive?!"
Superior glanced at her and chuckled as he lowered his head teasingly keeping the razor sharp and powerful teeth hovering just over Lenorence's neck. The winged lion struggling but to no avail.
Meredith sighed and shook her head. "I tried to warn you Alica, you ran right into my trap." She said lifting her gauntlet in explanation. "Metal Rush is an ability that allows Superior to phase through his opponents and negate all effects from ability cards, even his own."
'Ventus Lenorence at 480 gs, Darkus Superior at 500 gs.' The bakupod and gauntlet droned providing the stats.
"Now to finish this, attack Superior!" Meredith ordered waving her gauntlet arm.
Superior snarled as he buried his teeth into Lenorence's neck biting down, Lenorence letting out a cry of agony.
Alica's eyes widened. "Damn it no!" She said as Lenorence reverted and was sent back flying to Alica landing at her feet in defeat.
Superior merely straightened up and shook himself before he reverted and flew back to Meredith.
Meredith folded her arms across her chest "Do you realize now, what you're dealing with?" She asked Superior popping open beside her head.
"We are no ordinary duo." Superior informed Alica, "You will not beat us, accept that and we can move on."
Alica gritted her teeth as she crouched down and picked up Lenorence scowling slightly at the ventus bakugan ball.
"I will never just 'accept' the way things are," Alica said clenching her hands around Lenorence as she slowly lifted her head and glared at Meredith. "I will never just let you and your sister continue to get what you want willy nilly!" Alica shouted stamping her foot. "Masquerade, this brawl! I won't let you both win anymore!" Alica whipped out an ability card.
"Alica," Meredith began but Alica raised the ability card high into the sky.
"Ability card activate!" Alica screeched, "Nine lives!"
Meredith's eyes narrowed slightly as Lenorence's ball form glowed and Alica grinned tightening her grip on the bakugan as Meredith eyed her.
Alica chuckled. "Now lets see you beat my Lenorence again!" She shouted her pupils shrinking slightly as she fell into a fit of insane laughter and she threw Lenorence back out onto the field. The lion roaring loudly as he took a stance on Meredith's gate card.
Meredith sighed and shook her head as she held out her hand Superior closing up and landing in her palm. "This is ridiculous, but lets get this over with. Attack Superior!" She cried throwing him out the mechanical bakugan appearing in a blaze of light. Superior straightened up on the gate cardstamping his feet and spreading his wings as he roared at Lenorence.
"Round 2 then?" Superior growled as Lenorence hissed and the two bakugan leapt at each other.

Julie was sitting at Billy's bedside clasping his limp hand in hers. She'd been sitting there since Jenny and Jewls had been admitted. She had wanted to spend a moment with her former friend.
"Oh Billy." She said softly eyes watering as she tightened her grip on his hand. "I wish you'd wake up, I-" She released his hand for a moment as she looked away. "I know the others, think I ought to hate you." She closed her eyes and lowered her head. "Since you caused me so much pain and suffering. I-I understand where they're coming from and all, but…" She opened her eyes and nodded slightly turning to look back at Billy's pale face framed by messy blond hair. "Even after all that, you're still my friend Billy."
She forced a weak smile as her eyes roamed over his face before dipping lower and she choked back a sob at the sight of the bandages on his torso.
"If-if only you'd wake up… So I could tell you that-"
Though her lips moved the words were drowned out by the sound of rockets and the roar of an engine as a craft seemed to take off from right on top of them. Julie stopped talking and frowned at the ceiling waiting a moment before speaking loudly.
"Excuse me! I'm trying to tell my friend that I want him to wake up so I can say I-"
"Julie!" Runo rushed into Billy's room, making Julie give a growl in frustration.
"What?!" Julie snapped twisting to look at Runo, making the bluenette who'd been very aggressive lately take a wary step back. Then Julie caught sight of the wide eyed, and frightened look in Runo's eyes.
"Dan's gone!" Runo said swallowing. "And those rockets that went off a moment ago has sent the whole hospital into a craze!"
A moment later Marucho entered as well. "Guys! You won't believe what I found out!" he said excitedly, Julie able to hear the sounds of panic through the open door before Marucho shut the door, quieting them noise outside some. Though Julie noted she could still hear the screams of frightened patients and loud shouts of people in the hallway.
"Not now Marucho!" Runo barked. "We've got to find Dan-"
"Oh that won't be necessary brawlers." The three brawlers jumped and whirled around at the sound of a very familiar voice, albeit very unwelcome voice. They blinked when rather than the evil masked blond who was owner to the voice, they were met with a strange… metal bug thing that resembled a wasp.
"Is that a… wasp?" Julie said moving forwards and reaching a hand forwards to poke it. She jumped back when the tip of the wasp's nose lit up and a hologram of Masquerade appeared in front of it.
"Surprised brawlers?" Masquerade said grinning.
"You!" Runo snarled jabbing a finger at the masked brawler's hologram. "Too cowardly to face us yourself?!" She demanded.
"Yeah!" Julie chimed in placing her hands on her hips. "Lets fight!"
Masquerade chuckled. "Oh there'll be plenty of time for that, I just thought you'd want to save the lives, of the several hundreds of people in that hospital before fighting me."
That made the brawlers freeze. Marucho's eyes widened as he slowly pushed his glasses up with his pointer finger nervously.
"Wh-what do you mean?"
"It would be far too boring to just battle you, even if I took all three of you on at once. So I thought I'd spice things up a little." The hologram of Masquerade smirked. "I've planted a bomb somewhere in this hospital," He said the brawlers gasping in shock. "In 10 minutes it will go off, now here are your options. Find me and defeat me, and I'll deactivate the bomb, but only if you can tell me where the bomb is. So you've got to find me and the bomb. Now here's your other option, try to find the bomb and see if somehow you lot can deactivate it without blowing yourselves up, or you can take the cowards way out and abandon the hospital." He chuckled and shook his head. "But seeing as your friends are in there, I doubt you'd want that."
Julie spared a glance at Billy before glaring at Masquerade. "That's cowardly!" She snapped. "How dare you threaten everyone's lives just because you're bored."
Masquerade scoffed as the hologram leaned forwards. "Sweetheart, I'm the bad guy, you'd best get used to it. Or well, you should, while you still can." He chuckled as he straightened up and tapped his wrist. "Tick tock brawlers, you have 10 minutes to find me and the bomb, have fun." He said with a smirk before the hologram disappeared.
The brawlers stood there a moment, the wasp bot buzzing in front of them before Runo let out a war cry and grabbed the bug crushing its wings in her hand as she threw it to the floor and stamped on it.
"You! You MONSTER! How dare you! HOW DARE YOU!" She roared as she stamped repeatedly down crushing the bot into tiny tiny pieces.
"Runo!" Marucho cried rushing forwards and grabbing onto her arm making the bluenette stop her destruction of the tiny robot. "We don't have time for this! We have to find the bomb as fast as possible."
Runo frowned as Tigrerra popped open. "He's right, we should also try to encourage people to get out as quickly as possible, without raising panic."
Gorem nodded from his perch on Julie's shoulder. "Tigrerra's right,"
Marucho nodded. "All right then, so we sweep the hospital for the bomb and get people out as fast as possible? Right?"
"Right!" The two girls said in agreement.
"Then lets hurry up and find that bomb!" Marucho said as he raced out of the door and into the chaotic hospital, Runo rushing after him. Julie stepped into the hallway before pausing and looking back worriedly at Billy.
"I'll, be back for you." She promised glancing down at her bakupod taking note of the time. "I promise Billy." She said glancing at the toy he'd given her a long time ago that she'd held onto until now. Then the silver haired girl turned away and raced into the chaos.

"Joe! Wake up Joe!" A female voice spoke from the darkness.
Joe groaned as he blinked open his eyes, the darkness dispelling to reveal the ceiling of an empty hospital room and a white and pink bakugan floating up above his head.
"What is it Wayvern?" He asked sitting up rubbing his eyes.
Wayvern bobbed her head. "I don't know Joe, but somethings going on, its caused the whole hospital to freak out." She said. "Your mother isn't here, but I thought it best if we step out of the room for a moment to check to see if there's any trouble."
Joe laughed. "Trouble, here? Wayvern that's crazy, there's no way they've found you yet. You have nothing to worry about." He said getting up and going over to the dresser to grab some clothes.
"Humor me, please Joe?" Wayvern said. "I just…" She trailed off glancing towards the bed he'd been laying on a few minutes ago. "I have a bad feeling." She said.
Joe blinked and smiled at her. "Okay." He said reaching into his drawers and pulling out his usual top and jeans. "I'll get dressed and we can step out." He said heading to the bathroom, Wayvern trailing after him.
"Quickly Joe." She said as she stopped when he closed the door and the white dragoness glanced around nervously trying to pinpoint what was causing her unease. "We can't waste a moment."
Unbeknowst to either Wyvern or Joe, hidden under Joe's bed, in a black box, a timer began to start, and the most critical 10 minutes of the peoples' lives had begun.
A/N: Okay we're at 4,400 words and I feel that fitting anything else would take away from that freaking awesome ending. I think this story just grew at least another two chapters (DAMN IT DD I'm trying to reach the end here!)
So unfortunately, I'm delaying the crossover and Mighty Fall until I finish DD. Because if I start another thing now, DD is never gonna get done, cause its brawls I need to write, and lets face it when it comes to brawls I just don't want to do them. I just go. No. No I don't want to do this.
I have so much to get through still ugggghhhhh. Why does DD refuse to end? Why? I want to get to the awesome ending that will change everything you ever knew about Masky for freaking ever.
But I can't get there until I get past the freaking BRAWLS!
Ugh. Well least 75 is done, we're not going over 80 chapters (that's my limit for this story we're not going over 80)
Anyways I'm super grateful for all the reviews you guys gave me, and S1erra107 suggested I let you guys ask me and my charries questions and I'd post my characters response sometime around Christmas (like the 24th or 25th (and hopefully after this arc of DD has been completed).
So go ahead and ask questions regarding my OC's and I will post their responses, (and my own if you want to ask something of me).
Ask questions in your reviews. And lets hope, lets both hope, that these next two chapters after this one are the LAST two chapters. Or I will go mad.
But don't be too surprised if it becomes 3 because there is just SO MUCH STUFF.
So yeah, that's all I've got for this chapter.
Please Review I appreciate your support.
Also ask questions about the charries, heaven knows they'd just eat it up.
Aidan: Yes we'd love to enlighten you all about us.
Tyler: Yeah! Ask away.
Mike: We'll answer to the best of our ability.
Viki: And we won't be under the influence of hot masked blonds.
Alica: And we won't brutally murder anyone who tries to ask Masquerade if he loves Jet or not because, how dumb is that, of course he doesn't (*gets hit with a dart courtesy of Jet*)
Jet: Ignore her, she's under the influence of Naga, she doesn't mean what she says. Ask whatever you'd like. *smiles* We're happily at your service.
